Object "layer" Layer 1 is not currently available What The?
Apparently this is batch processing week in my life. I got 2 cams, 76 clips from each and someone forgot to clean their lens. YAY!!!!!….not.
Anyway, I recorded and action in PS CS5 that removes the spots. I did it through mini-Bridge and in miniBridge i right clicked to reveal in Bridge. Then i selected all and chose PS Batch from the tools menu. On the 1st file i get the error thats in the tittle of this post.
What is that and how can i get around it?
Do i have to have the image seq in a ps timeline aka video layer to do this action.
Sounds like your images are jpg or other format that flattens the layers.
You could add to your action rename the background layer to normal layer (this can be done by dragging the padlock to the trash can.) But for an action it may require you to double click on the layer and rename it. (I have not tested this)
Then save as a psd or tiff to guarantee that you have layers, transparency, etc.
Now the rest of your action should work on that file. So you may want to do this as a two part action.
Try it out on a few images and let me know if it works or not, I may need to do some testing if it does not work.

The command "Layer Via Copy" not currently available
When I use some purchased actions in CS4, I sometimes get "the command 'layer via copy' not currently available." Does anyone know why?
No-one will be able to tell you without seeing the Actions. There have been changes to Photoshops layering structure over the years, meaning that some older Actions recorded on older versions will encounter problems.
"Layer via copy' not currently available" suggests that either a group or nothing is selected in the layers panel. -
I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and found that I could no longer print to my HP CM1312nfi.
This is usually a problem with HP at every upgrade, but this time, they appear to have offloaded the driver download process to Apple.
My printer is connected wirelessly through a time capsule by IP address—the physical, not the virtual, e.g: 169.254.xx.xx instead of 10.0.1.x.
When I try to download the driver by bonjour or IP, I get the following error message:
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
Is this truly a Software Update server error, and if so, any clue when it will be resolved?
I am able to print with the generic driver as of now, but fax and scan capabilites are gone. The add fax dialog lists no devices.
Scanning is not supported on my printer model with the Hewlett Packard Print 2.12 driver. Will support be forthcoming, or did Mountain Lion brick my scanner?

I was having trouble printing to my HP Color LaserJet 2605dn from a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, so I went to System Prefernces -> Print & Scan deleted it and atempted to re-add it. When I try add the printer I get this message:
Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?
After clicking Download & Install (the only option other than Cancel), I get this:
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet 2605dn because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
What's the workaround when Mountain Lion can't find the driver?

The 2605dn has dual Network and USB connectivity. Which are you attempting to configure: Network or attached USB?
Printer on, and if networked, use a static IP address
Print & Scan
IP
Provide printer static IP address
Select Printer Software ... HP Color LaserJet 2605dn driver (not sure about that 2600 driver)
Add
Configure Driver under Options and Supplies
I have a 1994 HP Laserjet 4m Plus set up using these steps and the appropriate driver. I just added another network printer, using the same IP address, but using the above 2605dn driver without any issue other than complaint about a redundant IP address.

Can't install the software for the Brother MFC-9440CN because it is not currently available from the Software Update server....how do I get the driver then..it ised to work in my old mac..but cant print to it in my new unit

I upgraded my Macbook Pro (early 2011) to OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. Now, I cannot open iPhoto. It says I have to download older version of iPhoto. When I go to the app store, it says: The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store. the it says: "The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S.Do I need to find my original Macbook disk and install it back and go from there? Did I loose all my pics? Do I really ned it if they are all visible from the new "Photos" App? HELP!

Not sure why I am getting this message anyway. I wasn't trying to buy anything. I just upgraded and then I tried to access the store. I had two purchases that I had previously made from a different computer. I was going to download them to this computer as my iPod is synced to this computer and you can only sync it to one computer. I was able to view my account information and from there I was able to click on the Purchased link. I saw the two items and downloaded them. But I received an error about the second album. It said that I didn't have sufficient privileges. When I checked all the songs had downloaded. Only the booklet was missing. Maybe this has something to do with the issue, I don't know. As far as I know, I purchased everything from the US store. I don't even know how to switch to a different store.
In any case, I can't access the store because the item I requested is not currently available in the US store. So why don't they just dump me at the home page instead of blocking me completely.It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

You keep it on the usb stick for after you boot into Windows. From Windows you install the Windows Support software on the stick. Do you realize that you need to buy and install Windows? The Windows Support software you downloaded is only the Windows drivers for your hardware.

Whenever i try to open the App Store/iTunes store on the iphone, i get the error "the item you've requested is not currently available in the indian store".
This happens whenever there is link for an App that i want to download and it happens for each and every app which is easily available on iTunes from PC. Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

I've been running iTunes on WinXP for years with few problems. I have all my iTunes files on an external USB drive. I just bought a new PC running Win7, 64-bit.
I connected the external USB drive to the new PC and installed 64-bit iTunes on it. When iTunes started up, I pointed it at the iTunes directory in the external drive, using Edit > Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Media Folder Location. It showed a progress bar that it was updating the iTunes Library. I signed in and authorized the new machine. I have one spare authorization.
Then iTunes put up a message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store." I had not requested anything from the HK store at that point, and I have never used any store other than the HK one.
When I click OK, the iTunes Store page remains blank, apart from saying "iTunes Store" in the middle of the page.
I went to "View My Account" and pressed the Reset button to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading items", but that doesn’t fix this particular warning. I also tried Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Warnings and Rest Cache.
But still, every time I click the “App Store” button in the iTunes Store window, the message appears. If I click the Books, Podcasts or iTunesU buttons, these display normally. So I’m stuck with being unable to purchase apps, other than through my iPad and iPhone.
If I move the external drive back to the XP machine, the same thing happens. If I go to another PC - a notebook running Vista - everything is normal.
Any idea how I can clear that message?

I have tried re-validating my credit card, which apparently fixed it for some.
I have also tried uninstalling, re-downloading and installing again.
Neither of these steps fixed the problem. -
Since upgrading to Mavericks, my Canon MP980 printer no longer works. I've tried deleting the printer and adding it again. I've downloaded the driver software from Canon. My Mac dropbox tells me "the selected printer software is available from Apple", but when I click to download it, the process ends with my mac saying the software is not currently available from the software update server.
Open Finder and click on Go > Go to Folder. Then type
/Library/Printers/Canon
and press Enter. This will show the BJPrinter and iJScanner folders. You could try moving or trashing this folder and then installing the driver that you downloaded from Canon again. -
Logic pro 9 not currently available in the Australian store
Not sure if anyone can help as this seems to be a bit of a recurring issue worldwide from what I can tell (across various countries stores), but here goes.
My MacBook recently died and I am now using a new iMac. Amoungst other programs, I had purchased Logic Pro 9 from the Australian App Store in early 2012 and had installed it on my old MacBook. Given the MacBook no longer boots up (I know, a different issue to be sorted out another time), I know find myself needing to install it on the iMac.
When I log into my Apple account/ID, 'Logic Pro' appears under the 'Purchases' tab, hgowever when I select the 'Install' button on the right, it doesn't seem to do anything (it greys out and then goes back to the original button state saying INSTALL). I then click on the software title (i.e. Logic Pro) on the left-hand side of the screen and it presents a message as follows:
Item Not Available - The item you've requested is not currently available in the Australian Store.
I spent considerable money on this product and do not wish to buy the new version (i.e. Logic Pro X).
Is there a way I can download a version of Logic Pro 9 from the Australian Store?Its worth noting that while Logic Pro 9 itself will not be available in the App store to purchase.. because it is no longer sold (which is what you saw when you clicked on the icon itself) it should still be available under the purchased tab.. (which by your description, it is) so you can download and install it again, having purchased it prior to it being discontinued.
Make sure you have run iTunes first and signed in there using your Apple ID and password..and authorized tthe new Mac via the iTunes menu option... and you may have to agree to the terms and conditions first before you can actually downlaod it from the App store's purchased tab... This is a known quirk of how the App Store works.... that you must agree to the terms and conditions on a new Mac and may have to authorize that computer in iTunes before the App Store app will function correctly. -

I've downloaded the driver several times. rebooted - verify pref's - and it still gives me the same message. very very very very annoying.

The drivers are there. I see this quite often. What's happened is the supported devices list on the Mac is a little out of date. All you should have to do is disconnect the printer from the Mac, run Apple Software Updates, restart the Mac, connect the printer back to the Mac, and add the printer's queue to the Mac. You can find a little more information on this and other helpful tips in the link below. Let me know what happens.
