Object lock for table T001B / view V_T001B (tcode OB52)

Hi,
The table T001B or view V_T001B is for Opening and Closing FI periods.
We have given the transaction to Business users who are located in various parts of the world.
During month end each user is trying to open the period for his company.
However when one user is using the transaction OB52 which updates the table T001B, the trasnaction gets locked for all the other users.
How can we avoid this occurence?
The idea is to enable the transaction/ table / view update by multiple users parallely.
Your inputs are highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nitish

OB52 is just calling the maintenance view V_T001B. At first I thought that maybe it would be possible to call SM30 for this view and enter the conditions, but it doesn't allow to enter any... Very strange... Perhaps you could create a custom maintenance view, which would allow to maintain only selected records, not the whole table. Such view can then be "wrapped" in a small program that would require entering the selection criteria and could also have authorization check.
Additionally, it might be possible simply to run this as a monthly background job instead of having the users do it manually.

  • How to do hibernate mapping for table or view without a primary key

    Hi,
    Anyone knows how to do hibernate mapping for table or view without a primary key?
    thanks.
    cc

    or you can make all column primary key .Anybody seriously considering that as a good idea should understand the implications:
    1. this requires that each row be unique - that's a minor issue normally, but can be a significant problem in some cases
    2. in practically all databases, a primary key constraint creates a unique index - this has many implications:
    a) in most databases, the index stores a copy of the column data that is indexed - this suggestion therefore more than doubles the data storage required for the data
    b) whenever an indexed column is changed, the index has to be maintained - this suggestion then more than doubles the work that each UPDATE statement has to do, since both the table and the index have to be maintained for any UPDATE at all
    This might work OK for toy projects, but it doesn't scale well at all...

  • Delayed Data Display for Tables and Views

    Is it possible to delay the display of data for data and views.
    I work on remote databases over relatively slow ADSL/Dialup connections when compared to a LAN/WAN.
    If the tables are large, the data retrieved can be relatively slow and therefore the setting of a filter before display would reduce the amount of data retrieved and enable the viewing of the attributes, statistics etc in a timely manner

    AL_INDEX and AL_COLMAP store metadata of tables that you import in Datastore
    AL_COLMAP and AL_COLMAP_TEXT table store column mapping information that use in Dataflow, this data is usually populated when you save Dataflow, check if the "automatically calculate column mapping" option is checked in the Tools-> Options window in Designer
    if you are not seeing any data in these 2 tables, then go to Designer, select Datastore tab in object library right in the Datastore workspace select Repository menu option and select Calculate Usage Dependency once that completes do select Calculate Column Mapping from the same menu, once that completes check if you see data in these 2 tables

  • Authorization group for table maintenance view

    I  need to create table maintenence view for a custom table, client provide name for auth. group, but no clue how to create auth. group.
    can someone provide the steps to do this?

    Hi,
    Follow below steps to create table maintenance for a table and to assign authorization group to a table:
    step1: Go to SE11 enter the table name
    step2: In the standard toolbar you will find UTILITIES
    Go to UTILITIES -> TABLE MAINTENANCE GENERATOR
    You will go to first screen of Table maint. gen.
    Here you will find to enter authorization group.

  • Reg : object creation for controller and view ?

    hi friends....
    i am new to WDA and objects...
    please explain me..
    when i create the web dynpro component one interface is automatically created as IF_COMPONENTCONTROLLER for component
    IF_MAINVIEW for view
    IF_WINDOW for window
    correct me if i am wrong
    suppose if i want to reuse class, i want to create object... like wise
    if i want to reuse interfaces, i want to create object.
    but in this case..for eg (IF_COMPONENTCONTROLLER, IF_MAINVIEW ) where we are creating object...?
    no need to create object ?
    regards
    deva

    >but in this case..for eg (IF_COMPONENTCONTROLLER, IF_MAINVIEW ) where we are creating object...?
    no need to create object ?
    No you don't have instantiate any of the objects.  Think of Web Dynpro as a modeling layer implemented in ABAP Objects, but sitting on top of the Object Oriented constructs.  You still have some of the benfiits of OO - like event registration, inheritance, methods, etc - but a lot of the OO setup is done and maintained by the framework for you.  So although each section of Web Dynpro - the component, the controllers, contexts, views, etc - are all technically ABAP Object instances, you don't have to manage the objects directly.

  • Table maintenance view - tcode

    Hi experts,
    We have a tcode (already in production) created for table maintenace view of z-table.
    Everything is working fine.
    Now I added one new field to the z-table and changed the table maintenance view accordingly. In SM30 I can maintain the table without difficulties - the new field is visible and maintenable. However, when I call the transaction code created for this view, it doesn't have the new field yet.  I tried a lot but without success to update the tcode accordingly.
    How can I get the tcode adjusted with the new field?
    Thanks for your advise and help in advance!
    Your feedback will be << appreciated >>.

    It's about one week you asked the question, but I answer in case you didn't understand what happened:
    First, screens 1000-1010 can't be used in a table maintenance dialog (an error is mentioned by SAP when you try to use these numbers). So, I really don't understand how you can get 1000 in your table view!
    So, I think that your transaction is linked to a custom program (not the SM30 view). So you just need to adapt manually the custom program. Note: maybe the program is a partial copy of the SM30 function group, so maybe you may just copy the dynpro 1000 of the SM30 function group  to the dynpro 1001 of your custom program...
    Note: when you want to create a transaction which is linked to a table maintenance view (SM30), you must define a Z* transaction of type parameter, with reference to SM30 transaction, select "skip initial screen", do not choose any dynpro, and choose VIEWNAME = your view and UPDATE = X as parameter values.

  • Tables and Views are not displaying any objects.

    I have tried both Filtered and non-filtered for tables and view but it won't list any tables or view.
    I can run a query and it shows all the tables/views in the query window.
    SELECT table_name  FROM dba_tables
    select view_name from all_views

    Who owns the objects?
    The browser only shows objects owned by the current logged in user in the main section.  You need to go into the Other Users node to find objects owner by other users.

  • Cross object lock

    Hi Team,
    I would like to enable cross-object lock for the satellite systems which is connected with Solution Manager. I was referring one of the SAP material, it is saying that to enable cross-object lock, execute the tranaction, /TMWFLOW/CMSCONF and in the tab "System Change Options", under System/Client column, select the relevant client. But i could not view any details in the tab "System Change Options" to enable the cross-object lock.
    How to get the system details in the tab "System Change Options" ?

    Please read the nodes related to TMS in Change Request Management tab. SPROSAP solution ManagerScenario Specific SettingsChange Request ManagementStandard Settings--Transport Management System. You need to read all the documents mentioned there and implement that. The answer to your question is covered in the 3rd node; Activate Extended Transport Control.

    I would recommend to put that to TMS/RFC data transfer method as there can be issues with the other one if SLD cofiguration is not proper.

    SMSY_SETUP is transaction. Please execute this and check whether it is configured or not. This is selecting your datasource only. The BGD job can be activated in the first step.

  • Object locking of entity bean in a SSBean[Environment: WebLogic 10.0, EJB3.0, Kodo/OpenJPA]

    Hello friends,
    I am facing bottle neck with Object Locking for an Entity bean using OpenJPA Persistence Manager under Weblogic 10.0 application server deployments.
    I want to block [ for the specific method ] entity bean being accessed from other client programs when they invoke common method in a Stateless Session EJB. Particularly, Consider the situation:
    Client1: Modifying Customer entity with id: 100. Then I locked that entity using OpenJPA Entity Manager within the transaction block. And i entered that thread to sleep before committing the transaction.
    At this time, started new thread, Client2: Modifying the same Customer entity with id:100. I expected this thread will be get blocked when control pass to the lock() method. But it doesn't happened. It goes through the line of codes and also put into sleep.
    After thread sleep timeout, first thread Client1 commit successfully. But the second gets Rollback Exception due to optimistic lock exception occurring since customer entity is modified in another transaction.
    This exception is occurred because of Database level concurrency control for optimistic locking in a weblogic server. Its default to weblogic.
    But, what i expected is to assert lock at the object level, thereby the 2nd thread - Client2 will be blocked while Client1 is in the middle of a transaction and then Client2 use modified Customer entity . But it doesn't happened. I used Kodo Persistance Provider as Persistence Unit, OpenJPAEntityManager to do transaction, locking , finding and merging the entity bean.
    Can anyone provide help to fine grain this object locking functionality ??? I look forward to your brilliant thoughts......
    Rajesh KR
    Geojit Technologies

    Dear Chicon,
    I made thread to sleep for checking the "Object Locking" functionality of OpenJPAEntityManager. My intention was to block the second thread when the first thread being locked when a concurrent access occurs. But it doesn't happened and code execution passed to thread sleep.
    I mean when 2 client access the same entity at same time (in same milliseconds) , and what happens to 2nd thread when 1st thread locks the entity object.
    I guarantee you that i started the 2nd thread before the 4sec time stamp given to the object locking. I tested it with a bigger timestamp, still it given concurrent blocking of the same entity bean.
    My question is why the object locking is not working with concurrent access to same entity bean from more than one thread???
    I think you get the correct question what i intended ????

  • How to LOCK a table in SAP?

    Hi,
    Just wondering is there a way we can lock a table in SAP?
    tcode or something?
    ex. there a tcode to lock tcodes (SM01)
    so wondering if there is a tcode or another method?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    These are application locks not the database tables lock.
    If you use this function modules (enqeue and dequeue)
    then only it works the concept of locking.If you dont use this fms then you can directly access the table.
    If I am the developer and I dont implement the  locks then no locking concept would happen.

    Hi NK,
    Yes, sign (") was an important, and you must create table on db2 and Oracle with quote ,
    so yo can add trandata :-)
    {code}
    add trandata db.*
    or
    add trandata db."/DB/TEST04"

    3. I create a view link to create master-detail relationship for these 2 view objects.
    masterview.SourceBlock (1)->detailview.SourceBlock (*).
    4. I create a tree table using these 2 view objects with master-detail relationship.
    When I set default value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects and the matching records exist, tree table can work well. I can expand the master row to display detail row in UI.
    But I need to pass in dymamic parameter value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects, tree table cannnot work again. when I expand the master row and no detail row are displayed in UI.
    I am sure that I pass in correct parameter value for master/detail view objects and matching records exist.
    Managed Bean:
            DCIteratorBinding dc = (DCIteratorBinding)evaluteEL("#{bindings.MasterView1Iterator}");
            ViewObject vo = dc.getViewObject();
            System.out.println("Before MasterView1Iterator vo.getEstimatedRowCount()="+ vo.getEstimatedRowCount());
            System.out.println("Before MasterView1Iterator ShiftModeCode="+ vo.ensureVariableManager().getVariableValue("ShiftModeCode"));
            vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateFrom", dateFrom);
            vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateTo", dateTo);
            vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("ShiftModeCode", shiftModeC);
            vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("TerminalCode", terminalCode);
            vo.executeQuery();
            System.out.println("MasterView1Iterator vo.getEstimatedRowCount()="+ vo.getEstimatedRowCount());
            DCIteratorBinding dc1 = (DCIteratorBinding)evaluteEL("#{bindings.DetailView1Iterator}");
            ViewObject vo1 = dc1.getViewObject();
            System.out.println("Before DetailView1Iterator vo1.getEstimatedRowCount()="+ vo1.getEstimatedRowCount());
            System.out.println("Before DetailView1Iterator ShiftModeCode="+ vo1.ensureVariableManager().getVariableValue("ShiftModeCode"));
            vo1.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateFrom", dateFrom);
            vo1.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateTo", dateTo);
            vo1.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("ShiftModeCode", shiftModeC);
            vo1.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("TerminalCode", terminalCode);
            vo1.executeQuery();
            System.out.println("after DetailView1Iterator vo1.getEstimatedRowCount()="+ vo1.getEstimatedRowCount());
    5.  What's wrong in my implementation?  I don't have no problem to implement such a tree table if using simple master-detail tables view object, but now I have to use such 2 view objects using complex SQL for my requirement and variable bindings are necessary for detail view object although I also think a bit strange by myself.

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you and it can work.
    public void setLowHighSalaryRangeForDetailEmployeesAccessorViewObject(Number lowSalary,
                                                                              Number highSalary) {
            Row r = getCurrentRow();
            if (r != null) {
                RowSet rs = (RowSet)r.getAttribute("EmpView");
                if (rs != null) {
                    ViewObject accessorVO = rs.getViewObject();
                    accessorVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("LowSalary", lowSalary);
                    accessorVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("HighSalary", highSalary);
                executeQuery();
    but I have a quesiton in this way. in code snippet, it is first getting current row of current master VO to determine if update variables value of detail VO. in my case, current row is possibly null after executeQuery() of master VO and  I have to change current row manually like below.
    any idea?
                DCIteratorBinding dc = (DCIteratorBinding)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.SSForecastSourceBlockView1Iterator}");
                ViewObject vo = dc.getViewObject();
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateFrom", dateFrom);
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateTo", dateTo);
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("ShiftModeCode", shiftModeC);
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("TerminalCode", terminalCode);
                vo.executeQuery();
                vo.setCurrentRowAtRangeIndex(0);
                ((SSForecastSourceBlockViewImpl)vo).synchornizeAccessorVOVariableValues();

    Can you please tell me the standard lock object for the table KNVP and KNVK.
    Thank and regards,
    Kuldeep

    Hi
    see this and do accordingly
    Lock objects are use in SAP to avoid the inconsistancy at the time of data is being insert/change into database.
    SAP Provide three type of Lock objects.
    - Read Lock(Shared Locked)
    protects read access to an object. The read lock allows other transactions read access but not write access to
    the locked area of the table
    - Write Lock(exclusive lock)
    protects write access to an object. The write lock allows other transactions neither read nor write access to
    the locked area of the table.
    - Enhanced write lock (exclusive lock without cumulating)
    works like a write lock except that the enhanced write lock also protects from further accesses from the
    same transaction.
    You can create a lock on a object of SAP thorugh transaction SE11 and enter any meaningful name start with EZ Example EZTEST_LOCK.
    Use: you can see in almost all transaction when you are open an object in Change mode SAP could not allow to any other user to open the same object in change mode.
    Example: in HR when we are enter a personal number in master data maintainance screen SAP can't allow to any other user to use same personal number for changes.
    Technicaly:
    When you create a lock object System automatically creat two function module.
    1. ENQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. to insert the object in a queue.
    2. DEQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. To remove the object is being queued through above FM.
    You have to use these function module in your program.
    check this link for example.

    tables:vbak.
    call function 'ENQUEUE_EZLOCK3'
    exporting
    mode_vbak = 'E'
    mandt = sy-mandt
    vbeln = vbak-vbeln
    X_VBELN = ' '
    _SCOPE = '2'
    _WAIT = ' '
    _COLLECT = ' '
    EXCEPTIONS
    FOREIGN_LOCK = 1
    SYSTEM_FAILURE = 2
    OTHERS = 3
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    endif.
    Normally ABAPers will create the Lock objects, because we know when to lock and how to lock and where to lock the Object then after completing our updations we unlock the Objects in the Tables

    purpose: If multiple user try to access a database object, inconsistency may occer. To avoid that inconsistency and to let multiple user give the accessibility of the database objects the locking mechanism is used.
    Steps: first we create a loc object in se11 . Suppose for a table mara. It will create two functional module.:
    1. enque_lockobject
    1. deque_lockobject
    before updating any table first we lock the table by calling enque_lockobject fm and then after updating we release the lock by deque_lockobject.

    GO TO SE11
    Select the radio button "Lock object"..
    Give the name starts with EZ or EY..
    Example: EYTEST
    Press Create button..
    Give the short description..
    Example: Lock object for table ZTABLE..
    In the tables tab..Give the table name..
    Example: ZTABLE
    Save and generate..
    Your lock object is now created..You can see the LOCK MODULES..
    In the menu ..GOTO -> LOCK MODULES..There you can see the ENQUEUE and DEQUEUE function
