Objects Distribution at various components

hi,
we have a requirement in which mapping objects and interface objects are created in diff Software Components.
for example against a requirement we are creating mapping objects in one software component say XYZ and interface objects corresponding to this requirement in different component say ZXY.
In configuration part we are integrating objects at different components in to one scenario,
what we implement may be performance bottleneck ,as XI engine need to switch between componnets for executing the configuration scenario.
like if message mapping is allocated in one Page of 64k against a component and coreespoding data type Software Component in other page then engine needs to fetch this scattered data at runtime which will eventually reduce the performance.
can i through any inputs on our analaysis,is it recommended to use different components for storing parts of interface object and mappings against one scenario.
how XI really treats these Software components at runtime

Hi Ramakrishna,
The approach mentioned used by you is a good approach. Infact it is one of the best practises.
This can be used when there are different source and target systems. The interface objects specific to source are placed in one SWC and those of target are placed in a different SWC. (Like data types, message types, message interfaces, RFC and Idoc structures etc). The interfafce objects which are common to both source and target are placed in a separate SWC.(Like message mappings, interface mappings etc.) In ID however all these are used in a single configuration scenario. This is a standard practise and it is recommended. I cannot however comment on the performance bottlenecks which may arise because of such an approach.
Following such an approach will however increase the comlexity from a developer's point of view. For ex, in a message mapping, the source structure will be from a particular namespace and the target structure will be from a different namespace. But I also believe this approach will increase the reusability on some of the objects.

Various components double-render/double-encode on save!!

Hi.
I am in urgent need of assistance.
I am trying to develop an ADF/BC-JSF app in 10.1.3.4 JDeveloper.
I am encountering an error where, when I commit or rollback, various ADF Faces UI components on my page render/encode twice. Also sometimes on panelForms the labels get misaligned with the data fields.
There does not seem to be any error associated. I have all the logging and debugging I know about turned on.
This behaviour seems to be be related to doing inserts.
Has anybody seen this behavior before?

Actually it turned out to be...
Rule of thumb: be careful of using af:forEach in af:table rows to generate the options of a select list. Much safer to use getter to get a list and plug into value of f:selectItems (plural), than to use f:selectItem (singular) and use af:forEach to iterate over. af:iterator might work instead of af:forEach, too, but I am not sure.
Also mixed in with this was using forEach's varStatus property...something I have had bad luck with in the past.
Basically what was happening, was this forEach was not even on a part of the screen that was getting rendered, but it was causing components to render multiple times and get all mixed up. Pretty hard to track down.
So in this particular case I would get this doubling when I used the following inside of an af:selectOneChoice...

end="#{bindings.ListContCaseDiagIterator.estimatedRowCount}"

The use-case for this problem was a bit odd, but nothing too bad...
(Pardon the use of ** when I meant [ ... the trouble is a square bracket gets interpreted as a link reference, so I used ** instead. This syntax is a trick Steve Muench had, related to using HashMaps in the backing bean and overriding the get method. I had the get method return a select list and it took the integer within the square brackets as a parameter)

No Objects found! - Sotware components for Business System

Hello,
I have changed the product assignment to the technical system after configuring the Business systems in IB. Then I am getting 'No Objects found!' in the 'Other Attributes' tab of Display Service -> Business System.
Kindly do let me know How to fix it?

Linking PM Notification to different SAP Objects from different SAP Components

Hi All,
I have a requirement to link notification to three follow on actions namely:
1.     Work order creation (IW31?)
2.     PPM to create project
3.     Change request to review document (CC31?)
These activities are actions required from Root Cause Analysis. RCA is being done by an external system. An interface is to be used to create a notification in SAP PM. The notification is to be configured with an Action Box containing these three activities as follow on actions.
Is this possible to achieve? And if so, what FM can be used for each of the three SAP Objects?
Will there be a link between the three created objects and the Notification?
Will it be possible to update the Notification with the statuses of any one of these three objects automatically?

Asset distribution to various profit center

hai,
We have purchased 20 laptos in one purchase order for that asset created through AS01. Asset is also posted in respective account. Now the 20 assets will be distributed to 5 profit center. How do distribute the same to 5 profit center?

Hi
You mean that you have only 4 cost centers and 10 profit centers, then it will be difficult. You need not assign profit center in the Asset master, but it derives from cost center. You need 10 cost centers assigned to these 10 profit centers only then it is possible.
May be for the expenses incurred for these assets like dep etc can be assessed to the 10 profit centers in the profit center accounting, however the master may still remain in only few profit centers.

How to make a page in read only

I am using 11.1.1.4, I am having a requirement to display all the components on my page read only when first time page loaded, By clicking on 'Edit' button I have to make all components in editable. I am using Transient View object to render various components on my page. I have 50 components approximately on my page. How can I make page read only with very minimal changes?

is it possible for inter-clients (for example, java bean, ejb or servlet in J2EE) to get a global reference to an object which is in momory?

Sure bind the object to global name using JNDI then use the name to look up the object from the various components.

ALE distribution error - 0 communication IDOC

If you want work items to be created when errors occur for the purpose of error handling, you need to assign the standard task TS40007915 PCROLL to a position or a workflow organizational unit.
Or
You can also distribute dependent objects manually for classes. You can use report program RCCLDIHI to distribute a complete class hierarchy including all classes characteristics, and characteristic values.
Only the message code (004 - change) is allowed for sending a document (message type DOCMAS). This function also creates the document in the target system.
You can control the sending of documents with the indicator Distribution lock. An object with this indicator in its status will not be distributed into other ALE systems.
You can set the indicator in Customizing Document Management System  Define document type  Define status. The distribution lock is read when a distribution automatically starts after a change pointer is set or for an Integrated Distributed PDM Solution (ID PDM).
You can ignore this setting by starting the distribution manually. When you set the indicator Ignore distribution lock in the initial screen, then all documents will be distributed overriding the previously set status.
You control the distribution of object links with the indicator You cannot maintain the object links via ALE and Object link unchanged in target system.
Information about object links are distributed through IDoc type DOLMAS01.
The data is transferred to the workstation application and to storage data in IDoc type DOCMAS04 if an original file exists to a document. The Remote Function Call interface protocol transfers the contents of the original file, for example text or design drawing.
You can determine whether you want originals of a certain document type to be distributed by ALE into another system under the setting Document Management System  Define document type  Define transport of originals for ALE. You can control distribution with various criteria.
You want to distribute all original files of the application WRD (Microsoft Word) for the document type R-1 (report) that are stored in vault VAULT1 (Vault for Office Applications). You do not want to distribute documents of the same document type for the application WWI (Winword 6.0).
You can process the status for the desired objects.

Giri I have found a way to show various components on conditional basis
Here is the below example for that approach
1. Create a new Project
2. Drag a dataTable component on default page (created by creator)
3. Remove column 3
4. Remove dummy data from Column 2
5. drag OutputText Object into Column2
6. drag Image component into column 2
7. drag checkBox component into Column 2. Now youe Page1.jsp code should look like something like Below

Help on PO13 ---- "SAP Organizational Object" in the table control.

Can some one tell me details on or where to read from ..... PO13 -> "SAP Organizational Object" in the table control.
For eg if you go to PO13 -
> "Relationships" in the table control you get all the hierarchy details of an employee (eg: reports to, belongs to, holder ...etc.).
Similarly what would you get when u go to PO13 -
> "SAP Organizational Object" -
> Overview in the table control. Is it something to do with product hierarchy ..... am not very sure. I am working on a sandbox on a trial workflow for learning purpose and I do not have it configured so that I can look for some samples.
I understand I am not very clear about my question, but still I hope if someone can answer.

An object type is a generic description of an object.
The object type definition determines the object type by specifying its various components.
An object type is defined by its
Basic data, such as name, created by...
Key fields, which give each object a unique ID
Attributes as the characteristics of an object
Methods with parameters and exceptions as activities that can be performed for an object
Events, which describe any changes that occur
Implementation in the program code
After assigning Object Type, you should click on Assign Key.. and assign respectuve Object ID.
This will create link between Object in HR-OM with Object of other modules like Sales, Vendor, Purchase etc.
Note sure, how this is used in Workflow... i never worked on workflows.
