  • Which G/L accounts to be created as Cost Elements

    Hi
I wanted to know which G/L accounts should be created as cost elements since there are some G/L accounts that are usually not created as cost elements. Wats the logic that one needs to keep in mind while creating cost centres?

    Hi,
G/L accounts are of two types
    1) Profit and loss account
    2) Balance sheet account
There are two types of cost element
    1) Primary Cost element
    2) Secondary Cost element
In P&L statement, expenses and revenues are shown.
Similarly in cost center costs are depicted, maybe departmentwise or product wise, etc..
So for every P&L account primary cost element is created so that these costs flow to cost center or in other words  it is reflected both in Financial accounting and in Controlling. For secondary cost element you dont require an existing G/L account.
In short secondary cost element are used for assessment and distribution
I hope your doubt is cleared

  • What type of  P&L Accounts does not need Primary Cost Element ?

    Hi
The General rule is to create primary cost element for all the P&L items (GL Accounts).
However, it seems like certain P&L items are not suppose to create primary cost elements.
How do i know under what circumstances a P&L items need to create primary cost element  and which are the one not require to create primary cost element?

  • G/L account 1212 does not exist in chart of accounts INT

    Dear Seniors,
While i do stock upload in MB1C using movement type 561, it is giving an error that
G/L account 1212 does not exist in chart of accounts INT
    Message no. M7054
    Diagnosis
The G/L account entered is not included in the chart of accounts for your company code.
    Procedure
If the system has determined the G/L account, the system setting is faulty. Contact your systems administrator.
If you have entered the G/L account yourself, correct the input. Copied from M8043
I have changed the G/L account in OBYC but still this error is coming. what would be the cause and how to solve it ???
    Regards,
    Jana

    Hi ,
To create the account for chart of account INT use tcode FSP0 .
And if you are trying to replace the account with another account check two entries in OBYC
one is in GBB --- give correct combination of valuation modifier , valuation class , use general modifier BSA and your new account
another is in BSX --give correct combination of valuation modifier , valuation class .
If still you are getting error revert back .

    HIi
Mater chart of accounts is nothing but the main account that is created at the client level.
    we have 3 COA
    1. Group chart of accounts
    2.country specific chart of accounts
    3. Operating chart of accounts
we can have maximum 3 chart of acocunts assigned to each company code
Company code chart of accounts is can be operating chart of account which contains the group of account used by that company...
If some specific requireement is there for the country reporting purpose than we need to use that and maintain that ,
Group chart of account is used for the consolidation purpose.
like we have 6 company codes under one company in differnet countries.. so here they will have one common COA which will consilidate the business of all 6 company codes...
Hope u understand wht u wanted..

  • Country chart of accounts and alternative account No.

    Hello Experts
we're using country chart of accounts and alternative account No. to fullfill FICO China localization, now I have below questions:
1, In manual FI posting in company code of china, eg. by transaction code FB01, which account number is used for this posting? Account number in operational chart of accounts or account number in country chart of accounts?
2, The alternative account No. in country chart of accounts also needs to be created with compnay code level master?
Or we just need create account in operational chart of accounts with company code level master?
3, If we use account in operational chart of accounts for FI posting  by company code of China, after posing, two accounting documents are generated, one with account in operational chart of accounts? Another one with account in country chart of accounts?
    4. Country chart of accounts is used for consolication purpose? Is there some difference with group chart of accounts?
    Thanks,
    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,
1, In manual FI posting in company code of china, eg. by transaction code FB01, which account number is used for this posting? Account number in operational chart of accounts or account number in country chart of accounts?
    > Account No. in Operation Chart of Accounts is always used for FI posting. Alternative Account No. is always for information purpose.
2, The alternative account No. in country chart of accounts also needs to be created with compnay code level master?
Or we just need create account in operational chart of accounts with company code level master?
    > You only create Operational Chart of Accounts for posting. Alternative Account No. can be of two types 1):-is a freely definable text and you don't have any chart of Account for that, for example say legacy No. 2) The Account No. from a country Chart of Accounts, in this case you create a GL in Country Chart of Accounts.
3, If we use account in operational chart of accounts for FI posting by company code of China, after posing, two accounting documents are generated, one with account in operational chart of accounts? Another one with account in country chart of accounts?
    > Not True. Only Operation Chart of Accounts will get posted. In the Alternative Account No., the Alternate Account No. will get populated.
    4. Country chart of accounts is used for consolidation purpose? Is there some difference with group chart of accounts?
    > No. Country Chart of Account is used for External reporting.. Group Chart of Account is used for Consolidation.

    Our organizational structure is like
    ABC Holding Group
in ABC Holding Group there are several group of companies like AB Group, BF Group etc.

We have some confusion about the structure of COA in SAP, we are setting Operational Chart of Accounts for PERU and JKRY and will assigned Group chart of Accounts for AB Group then is it possible to assigned AB Group to ABC Holding Group by using ABC Holding group (Group chart of Account)?
ABC Holding Company (Group Chart of Accounts) Assigned AB Group COA
AB Group (Group Chart of Accounts) Assigned PERU and JKRY Operational Chart of Accounts
    Thanks,
    Abid

  • Error FF5507 in MIRO G/L Acct 211000 not defined in chart of account INT

    Good Afternoon SAP Gurus-
I have a mystery.  We are using standard preconfigured SAP test scripts and we are following the procedure for procure to pay.  We are getting the error below when entering MIRO
G/L Account 211000 is not defined in chart of accounts INT
    Message No.  FF5507
The general master data of the G/L account 211000 is not maintained in the chart of accounts INT.
    System Response
    INT
Please correct your entry or create the master record
I did check a table and confirmed that 211000 does not exist for chart of accounts INT.  When I check with the FI guy, he tells me that when he looks in FS00, it tells him that 211000 is created in company code PS01 however when he tries to change it, it tells him that it is not created in chart of accounts INT for company code PS01.
What on earth is the problem?  I would think this could be simply corrected by extending 211000 to PS01.  We know that is chart of accounts INT.
    Thank you!!

    Hi,
sounds like the account number is exisiting on comp. code level (table SKB1) but NOT on chart of accounts level (SKA1) a situation that can not happen regularily... Check both tables if the account number is there.
If its there only in SKB1 try to
create it in chart of accounts INT using FSP0 T-code or (if thats not possible)
remove it from SKB1 (guess your ABAP-guys no what to do) and create it new using T-code FS00 (which creates chart of accounts and comp. code data at once).
I assume that there is no document posted using this account number and that you are able to try in test-system what I've suggested.
    best regards, Christian

  • Chart of Account and Country COA

    Hi All,
Can some tell me difference between Chart of Accounts and Country Chart of Accounts. And for What purpose Country Chart of Accounts is used.
    Regards,
    Kiran.

    Hi,
    Chart of Accounts
    Definition
This is a list of all G/L accounts used by one or several company codes.
For each G/L account, the chart of accounts contains the account number, account name, and the information that controls how an account functions and how a G/L account is created in a company code.
    Use
You have to assign a chart of accounts to each company code. This chart of accounts is the operating chart of accounts and is used for the daily postings in this company code.
You have the following options when using multiple company codes:
You can use the same chart of accounts for all company codes
If the company codes all have the same requirements for the chart of accounts set up, assign all of the individual company codes to the same chart of accounts. This could be the case if all company codes are in the same country.
In addition to the operating chart of accounts, you can use two additional charts of accounts
If the individual company codes need different charts of accounts, you can assign up to two charts of accounts in addition to the operating chart of accounts. This could be the case if company codes lie in multiple countries.
The use of different charts of accounts has no effect on the balance sheet and profit and loss statement. When creating the balance sheet or the profit and loss statement, you can choose whether to balance the company codes which use different charts of accounts together or separately.
    Structure
Charts of accounts can have three different functions in the system:
    Operating chart of accounts
The operating chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that you use for posting in your company code during daily activities. Financial Accounting and Controlling both use this chart of accounts.
You have to assign an operating chart of accounts to a company code.
    Group chart of accounts
The group chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that are used by the entire corporate group. This allows the company to provide reports for the entire corporate group.
The assigning of an corporate group chart of accounts to a company code is optional.
    Country-specific chart of accounts
The country-specific chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts needed to meet the country's legal requirements. This allows you to provide statements for the country's legal requirements.
The assigning of an country-specific chart of accounts to a company code is optional.
    Integration
The operating chart of accounts is shared by Financial Accounting as well as Controlling. The accounts in a chart of accounts can be both expense or revenue accounts in Financial Accounting and cost or revenue elements in cost/revenue accounting. You can find additional information on this subject under Cost Accounting and Chart of Accounts.
    Thanks,
    Rau

  • Country chart of account

    Hi experts,
please tell how to create country chart of account, and how to assign  where do all posting and where we see all transaction and business process, same group chart of account where i have to make ,see all process.
    thanks
    Arti singh

    Definition:
Country Chart of Account is created similar to operating chart of account in the transaction Code : OB13. It will also have set of Account Groups and GL Accounts created seperately. This is normally created based on the local statutory/reporting requirements and standard operating chart of account is used globally.
    Assignment:
After creating a Country Chart of Accounts you need to assign the same to a company code at the 'company code Global Data' in the  Country Chart/Accts field.
Financial Accounting -> Global Parameter for Company Code -> Enter Global Parameter
Once you do this assignment while creating a Account for the operating chart of account system will prompt you to enter the Alternative Account Number in the Control Data Tab in T.code FS00.
Note: you can assign one Country COA Account to morethan one Operating COA Account.
    Usage:
Once you link the operating chart of account and countr chart of account using Alternative Account No. system will allow you see report both at Operating COA and Country COA.

  • Change Company Cd-Chart Of Accounts

    hi,
We have a situation like this. There are two company codes, 1000 and 2000. Company Code 1000 use company code currency LKR and company code 2000 use the company code currency USD. But we want to use same operational chart of accounts. Would this be possible?
    Best Regards,
    Gayani

one or more company codes will use same cahrt of accounts but there are two conditions satisfy first . same nature of business or same fiscal year varient then you will use the same chart of account if you consilidation also possible. company codes are different currency its not a problem your will use different currencies but consolidation purpose you will use new gl functions 1. leading ledger it is only once currency non leading ledger it is different currencies.
ex 1000 inr 2000 usd 3000 aud you will use same chart of accounts and use differenct currency but you will maintain the consolidation purpose leading ledger and nonleading ledger

  • Regarding Deletion of Chart of Accounts

    Dear All,
When I am trying to delete the chart of accounts in development server it is saying that Chart of accounts is used in Special Purpose Ledger and entries cannot be deleted. So i removed all the accounts for down payments received and down payments made. Even then it is giving the same message. Are there any other areas where accounts are assigned for Special GL transactions.

    Hi,
Go to Tcode GCL2 and un assign all the company codes to the special purpose ledger.
Now try to delete the COA.
If still the problem exists, then go to GCDE
Press F4 button in the ledger field and check if there are any entries in that list with a Z* table, if yes choose that entry.
Deselect test run check box and execute it.
    This will fix your issue.
    Thanks,
