OC4J-Weblogic

Hi, please help me, we need to communicate two j2ee applications, one is deployed in bea weblogic 7 service pack 4, the other is deployed in oracle ias 903, we want to call session beans methods deployed in bea from session beans deployed in ias. But we are having troubles with the weblogic.jar library, we need help about issues about do this, we have been trying but we get several exceptions in several conditions:
- NoClassDefFound: Sometimes when we are trying to get the initial context to the weblogic server(WLInitialContextFactory)
- NoClassFound:
- weblogic.common.internal.VersioningError: No WebLogic packages defined in CLASSPATH
Please someone have an idea about the best way to do this, webservices are out of discussion, GOD I BELIEVED IN THE J2EE PROMISES ABOUT DISTRIBUTED COMPONENTS COMMUNICATION WITHOUT PROBLEMS !!
Please HELP !!

Hi 395477,
Although this is probably not your only problem, from what you have posted, it looks (to me) like OC4J cannot find any of the WebLogic classes. I think you simply need to copy the relevant WebLogic JAR file(s) to the relevant OC4J directory. The "library" element in the "application.xml" file gives the relevant location.
I am using OC4J stand-alone version 10.0.3.0.0 (developer preview) on a SUN [sparc] with Solaris 7 and J2SE 1.4.2_02. The "home" directory for my OC4J installation is:
/OC4J
So the "application.xml" file is located in directory:
/OC4J/j2ee/home/config
Hopefully this will get you past your current problem -- but I'm sure you'll immediately run into another one afterwards. (Feel free to ask away :-)
Good Luck,
Avi.

  • Multiple BI instances on single BI  Server

    Hello,
    I want to know if we can have multiple instances of BI run on single installation
    i.e on single installation
    I would like to run two different rpds and two different webcatalogs.
    Can this be done?
    If this can be done does oracle support this kind of installation?
    Regards,
    Deep

    Hi,
    Technically, I think you can run two mutually exclusive services on one server. You need an web application layer for managing like OC4J, weblogic, etc wherein you deploy two instance of presentation services with different port and each of these have DSN to different RPD's. I doubt you will be able to run on an IIS server (web layer).
    As far with the support, I think oracle supports single instance of Presentation services, but check with your oracle sales person on that.

  • Oracle MapViewer 12.1.3 and WFS-T (Transaction) Service

    Hello,
    I am new to Oracle MapViewer.
    Does Oracle MapViewer 12.1.3 supports WFS-T (Transaction) Service similar to ArcGIS Server 10.2?

      Before anyone can use Spatial and Graph web services, you, as an administrator with the DBA role, must ensure that:
      •The $ORACLE_HOME/md/jlib/sdows.ear file is deployed into an OC4J instance.
      •The necessary database connections are defined (if you accepted the default location for the sdows.ear file deployment) in the <j2ee_home>/home/applications/sdows/META-INF/data-sources.xml file. This file defines database connections available for use with all web services, including OpenLS and WFS.
      You should then examine and modify the <j2ee_home>/home/applications/sdows/sdows/WEB-INF/conf/WSConfig.xml file, which controls web services behavior. Example 10-1 shows the Oracle-supplied WSConfig.xml file, which you should modify as needed for your system environment. For more information about how to modify this and other files, see the Readme.txt file for the wsclient.jar demo file (described in Section 10.4, "Demo Files for Sample Java Client").
    What do I need to install? How do I deploy OC4J? How I deploy this in Weblogic or Glassfish? How do I deploy the .ear file in OC4J?

  • LARGE Report | Heap space error | Scalable mode causes XDOIOException

    hi,
    we have a report that returns many records causing a fairly big memory consumption which results in a java heap space error.
    i have read the following post 'Error: Java Heap Space with the scalable mode setting.
    i activated the scalable mode feature for this report, however, after outputting the report again, i get the following exeption:
    oracle.apps.xdo.webservice.exception.OperationFailedException: PublicReportService::generateReport failed: due to oracle.apps.xdo.XDOIOException
    i activated the setting via the xdo.cfg in the according report-folder. the .cfg looks like this:
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <properties>
    <property name="xslt-scalable">true</property>
    </properties>
    </config>
    can somebody give me a hint in which direction i should look for the error? the exeption tells me nothing to be honest.
    the report works fine with less records - with activated scalable mode however ill get the exception.
    would be very glad for advice.
    thanks a lot.
    Oracle BI Publisher: 10.1.3.4.1

    - Which Application server are you using: OC4J, Weblogic?
    - Did you increase the app server heap size?
    - Enable the DEBUG mode to troubleshoot this issue: http://bichaos.blogspot.com/2011/04/enabling-log-messages-in-bi-publisher.html
    - Start testing a small rowset and then continue increasing it until you get the error.

  • Does TopLink support JBoss App Server?

    My company is a software development company. So, we use many application servers for our customers.
    I found that TopLink supports OC4J, WebLogic and WebSphere, but I don't know, Does TopLink support JBoss? I just downloaded TopLink for test yesterday, so, I don't know much about TopLink, but my current project uses JBoss.
    Please give me some suggestion that might help me to refine my project.
    Thank you so much.

    Yes it does and there are customers using JBOSS. TopLink supports any app server and, in fact, doesn't even require an app server -- and compliant JVM will do just fine.

  • Oracle BI Setup Question

    Hi,
    My company is exploring the use of Oracle BI Publisher within our existing setup to generate reports for our clients.
    I have installed Oracle BI Publisher Desktop on my work station and have a couple of questions:
    1)     Although we're an Oracle shop, we do not plan on passing data from our database into Oracle BI Publisher. Instead, we’re thinking of passing data from our application into Oracle BI Publisher in the form of some data structure (array, matrix, etc) or an XML file. Is this supported?
    2)     If we can use an XML file as inputs into Oracle BI Publisher, are there any sample codes as to how to do this? Do I have to have Java EE installed? Any additional packages?
    3)     What does Oracle BI Publisher Desktop do? After installing it on my desktop, when I tried to open it, it attempts to connect to a Oracle BI Publisher server. Must I have an Oracle BI Publisher Server installed?
    4)     Does running Oracle BI Publisher require installing WebLogic?
    Thank you very much for your help!

    Hope to help here:
    A bit of architecture overview:
    BI Publisher is composed of two main pieces:
    a) BI Publisher Server (J2EE Application) : Actual application which contains the reports and data sources definitions
    for users access( through web browser)
    b) BI Publisher Desktop (MSFT Word Add-in): Used to develop Templates only (Layout)
    With regards your questions:
    1. It is supported. BI Publisher server can fetch data from XML source files (OTB feature)
    2. As mentioned above for reports to work and be accessible to a community you need to deploy BI Publisher server
    onto the certified App Servers: OC4J, Weblogic, Websphere, etc. Check this link for 10g:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12692/toc.htm
    This is true for BI Publisher 10g. The new release 11g is for now only supported on Weblogic Server.
    3. Already explained above. It is used only to develop templates. It does not provide any other functionality.
    4. As explained above BI Publisher Server is required and since it is a J2EE application it requires a supported app server
    like Weblogic.
    Cheers
    Jorge

  • OPM questions

    1. Can OPM dehydrate to other than Oracle's DB? How can dehydration behavior be controlled (config file?)
    2. Can OPM do async calls/callbacks into JMS topics or queues?
    3. Can I get the in-flight status of a biz process programmatically, as opposed to the OPM Console? i.e. I'm doing some type of processing on 100 loans, all are long-living transactions, and my client wants to know how many currently have completed. (would setting up a global count variable with a seperate request handler that returns the count be a possible solution)
    4. How much does OPM cost (approx)?

    Good questions. Here are the answers:
    1. Can OPM dehydrate to other than Oracle's DB? How can dehydration behavior be controlled (config file?)
    Yes. All you need to do is to build the BPEL PM schema in that other DB and change the data source configuration. We support Oracle 9i, 10g, Olite, SQL Server, Sybase and DB2. The configuration process is very similar to the one describing how to switch from olite to 9i (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/pdf/orabpel-config-oc4_ora9i.pdf)
    2. Yes. Please refer to C:\orabpel\samples\tutorials\118.JMSService and C:\orabpel\samples\tutorials\119.JMSTopics for more information.
    3. Yes. Every information that is available in the console is also available in the BPEL PM client API.
    Java doc:
    C:\orabpel\docs\apidocs
    Dashboard Sample:
    C:\orabpel\samples\demos\LoanDemoPlus\LoanFlowPlusUI\dashboard.jsp
    4. Cost
    It is free for developers
    For production, it is priced at $40,000 per CPU (which give you the right to run it with OC4J, WebLogic, JBoss or Websphere). If you decide to run it on one of your existing Oracle Application Server Enterprise Edition licenses, you will get a $30,000 rebate.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to Migrate OC4J EJB Web service to Weblogic

    Hello,
    We have a J2EE app developed under OC4J that needs to be migrated to weblogic 10.x. It uses web services mapped to EJB's with the oracle.j2ee.ws.SessionBeanWebService class, example setup:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>CreditCardManager</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>oracle.j2ee.ws.SessionBeanWebService</servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>jndi-name</param-name>
    <param-value>CreditCardManagerBean</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </servlet>
    Can someone point me to any docs on how to create the equivalent objects in Weblogic?
    Thanks,
    Leor

    Microsoft webservices uses HTTP sessions to maintain state. That means that the webservice sends a token to the client to be passed back on subsequent calls.
    Unfortunately, the webservice control in 8.1 doesn't know how to send the session token back to the MS webservice. The webservice control knows how to talk SOAP only. It doesn't know about session tokens. The reason for this is the different protocols available to transmit SOAP. Most of them are not HTTP session aware.
    Workshop webservices uses conversation ID's that are contained within the SOAP header to maintain state. That way, we don't have the dependency on the session state for maintaining state.
    The way to handle Microsoft's stateful webservice implementation is to create a custom webservice control that uses an HTTP client. Query the HTTP client for the session cookie. Store the session token and send it with subsequent calls to the MS webservice.

    How can I integrate LoginModule same way in weblogic..(10.3.4) thank you all in advance. Already know the process of MBean jar and configuring it in weblogic console.
    But Standalong MBean JAR can't find my Custom LoginModule defined in EAR which I am pointing from my CustomSecurityProvider thru

  • OC4J 10.1.2 to Weblogic 11g (10.3.5) xmlparserv2.jar dependency

    I am trying to upgrade from OC4J 10.1.2 to Weblogic 11g (10.3.5).
    I used the smartupgrade tool and it has highlighted some required modifications before upgrading.
    For example:
    <snip>
    Rule: Oracle Private Dependencies
    Category: api
    Priority: required
    Complexity: high
    Reason: xxx.admin.ejb.AdminCtrl.jar contains the following unsupported Oracle dependencies:
    AdminCtrlBean.class on [oracle.xml.parser.v2.DOMParser (orasaaj.jar), oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException (orasaaj.jar), oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument (orasaaj.jar)]
    Advice: To ensure the proper functioning of deployed applications, features that depend upon the identified API need to discontinue using the identified unpublished Oracle API.
    Implication: Features associated with the identified API may be broken, or the application itself may not function properly if at all because they depend upon unpublished Oracle dependencies.
    </snip>
    I want to follow the 'Advice', but I'm not sure what the best method is for correcting this issue.
    Should I move away from the xmlparserv2.jar for xml processing?
    If yes, what is the recommended replacement for xmlparserv2.jar in Weblogic 11g?
    Any help, guidance or pointers are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    When migrating to weblogic from oc4j, you should discontinue use of the Oracle xml parser. Use the standard java sdk parser.
    This code snip:
    StringReader sr = new StringReader(xmlString.toString());
    DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
    parser.parse(sr);
    Document doc = parser.getDocument();
    Is converted to this code snip:
         DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
    StringReader sr = new StringReader(Sparameters);
    InputSource is = new InputSource(sr);
    Document doc = db.parse(is);
    I found this information in this documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs103/xml/programming.html#wp1069856
    I hope this is helpful to someone.

    Hi Frank,
    the problem is this.
    I have a .js file which have the following two methods
    function deactivateProgressIndicators()
    if (self._pollManager)
    if (document.getElementById('fileUploadStatus').value=='noUpload')
    _pollManager.deactivateAll();
    function reactivateProgressIndicators()
    if (self._pollManager)
    document.getElementById('panelBox').style.display='';
    document.getElementById('fileUploadStatus').value='uploading';
    _pollManager.reactivateAll();
    I call these methods with in a .jsp file.
    But the things that are inside the if conditions doesn't work.
    I think the problem is clear now. Is there a way to run these methods or is there another way to
    do this ?
    Thank you for replying!

  • Deploying ear application - migrating from OC4j to Weblogic

    I am trying to migrate application from OC4J to weblogic server. Apart from usual differences in descriptors, structure of EAR etc. I came across unusual error:
    "both the remote home and remote component interface must be specified. Currently, only one of them is specified"
    It is about deploying session bean. Usual EJB3 stateless session bean with local and remote interface, deployed without any problem on OC4J and JBoss. Of course, I know home interfaces are something to do with EJB 2.1, but this is EJB3 application and, I guess, Weblogic has full support for it. Does it? :)
    Anyway, is there workaround? Or am I missing something? I don't have to tell you what problems we will be facing if I have to restructure whole application with dozens and hundreds of session beans.
    Thanks a lot!

    OK. I just want to make sure that there are no problems with the deployment descriptors.
    To pin point the problem do the following in JDeveloper:
    1. Create a simple EJB 3.0 session bean
    2. On that session bean create a Sample Java Client.
    3. Run the Session Bean
    4. Run the Client
    5. If both are running fine, compare the deployment descriptors from the sample and your real application.

    Dear Marcos,
    I have tried using ojdbc5, ojdbc6 and classess12 but with the same result. I am stuck with the problem. I have googled a lot but in vein. In some posts I got the idea to use weblogic.jdbc.vendor.oracle.OracleThinClob. But there is no package or class like mentioned in bold, available in weblogic.jar that I get from WEBLOGIC_HOEM/lib. I have downloaded weblogic 10.3 two times but still got no solution. weblogic.jar does not contain weblogic.jdbc.vendor.oracle.OracleThinClob.
    I have also read about using weblogic.jdbc.common.OracleClob to write unicode data but I do not find this package within the weblogic.jar
    Any idea please......

  • JNDI lookup from OC4J to weblogic throws javax.naming.NameNotFoundException

    Hi All,
    We have the below setup in our production environment.
    EJB application is deployed in the Weblogic 10.3.4.0 Server on Sun Solaris. The EJB version is 3.0
    OC4J 10.2.0 is running on another Sun Solaris machine.
    There are 2 webservice applications WEBSERV1 & TestSoapEJB running on this OC4J container.
    We need to do lookup the EJBs deployed on the Weblogic server. For this we used the below logic in the web service's Stateless session bean:
    String weblogicURL = "";
    Properties props = new Properties();
    try
    props.load(Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("wl.properties"));
    weblogicURL     = props.getProperty("weblogicURL");
    catch (FileNotFoundException e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    catch (IOException e)

    ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,"weblogic");
    ht.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,"weblogic654");
    ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, weblogicURL);
    ctx = NamingManager.getInitialContext(ht) ;
    // tried using //ctx = new InitialContext(ht); same behavior.
    TestEJB.AdministratorEJB ejb = (TestEJB.AdministratorEJB) ctx.lookup("TestEJB#TestEJB.AdministratorEJB");
    ctx.close();
    When we first test first WEBSER1, the lookup is fine.
    But when we test the second webservice WEBSER2, the webservice name itself not able to lookup: It gives the below error:

    It seems that, the OC4J is looking in Weblogic context. But it should be looking in its own context. How to resolve this issue.
    The same case happens if i restart the OC4J and first test the TestSoapEJB the lookup is fine . But if i test the WEBSERV1 , it throws the same error as above. In short, if one of the webservices lookup is working fine, the other webservice is not working. At the same time only one webservice's lookup is working.
    Kindly help me to resolve this issue.
    regards,
    Zia

    I work now more that two days on this error!!!
    -> I remade my complete jdev project, it did not work!
    -> I deleted the jdev/system/j2ee/oc4j/workspace dir
    -> I search for some .lock files
    -> and many more tries!!! But without success...
    Is there a way to reset the Embedded OC4J?
