Odd/Even Fields - Removing Pixel Rows In PS

This is hard to explain, but I have a challenging task here in PS. There has to be a way to do this!
I have to make our video engineering dept. two separate files, one containing the EVEN rows of pixels, and one file with the ODD rows of pixels.
BUT, I have to collapse the space between each pixel row, truncating the file height in half.
I have produced two master PSD files now, 854x480 WVGA format. I created a grid of selections (saved as an alpha channel) for ODD rows and EVEN rows, and deleted the unnecessary rows. If you were to layer these two files together, the image would appear seamlessly.
OK, fine. I almost have what I want, but I'm not done yet.
What I have to do now is to remove the space between each pixel row (the transparent rows), truncating the file height to 240 pixels high.
Yes, I know the final image will appear "odd", but this is for technology development purposes.
Can anyone offer a procedure to remove the rows of transparent pixels, resulting in a shorter file height?
I could post a PSD, I suppose, if someone wanted to see what I'm starting with.
If each pixel row were on an individual layer, I could distribute the layers, one on top of the other. But moving each pixel row would mean 240 layers.
There has to be another way.
I'm thinking there might be a method of doing this in AE if I can't do this in PS.
Thanks so much.

Tom:
I would process one file at a time, creating even and odd files, as opposed to breaking out two files using masks (as you seem to describe) and then processing those. I'm 95% sure you can action this to a batchable action (serial numbered even/odd files, not filename-prefix, if that makes sense). When creating the 239 dupes: dupe one set, then select both sets, dupe both, then select four, dupe those and so on. Do this in a blank action to make it easy to determine what you're duping. I created an action with 1024 sets of steps this way, which is more than enough to process both even/odd files, link everything, copy merged, save out, etc. If you're using CS3 the linking is much more simple: link layers 1 through 240 selecting all, vs: select layer 1, layer 2, layer 3, ...
If you merge linked and copy to a new file called "odd," then when you batch the action you can create 001_odd.psd, 001_even.psd, 002_odd.psd, 002_even.psd, ... Get the receiver to sign off on receiving renamed files and then no handwork for you. Or bug the scripting folks in that forum and they might be able to help you with naming the resultant files based on original.

  • US Reg Addr Cleanse Transform, Suggestion List, Postcode2 Odd/Even fields

    These field are in: US Regulatory Address Cleanse transform>Options>Suggestion List Options>Secondary Address Components.
    There are 2 suggestion list fields that aren't listed in the documentation: Postcode2 Odd and Postcode2 Even
    Can someone provide a definition of these fields?
    Thanks!!

    Odd and even numbered addresses are always on opposite sides of a street.  Postcode2 odd and postcode2 even are the zip4 codes assigned to the odd and even numbered addresses, respectively.  For example, in Chicago on the 300 block of South State Street, the zip4 on the odd side of the street is
    3903, and the even side is 3904.

  • How to select odd/even rows from table....

    How to select odd/even rows from a table?
    Please help.
    Edited by: vaibhav on May 7, 2012 5:30 AM

    just don't expect the results to come out in the sequence odd, even, odd, even .....
    The answer you have marked correct needs two order by clauses to guarantee that.
    The inner select will return rows in a random order, potentially different each time you run it. The outer select may not return rows in the same order as the inner one.

  • Can pages be rearranged/merged automatically to restore odd even sequence after one-sided scans of double sided documents

    I would like to scan into pdf format some documents that are deteriorating badly.  These documents are printed on both sides and there are lots of them.  The stack of documents can be placed in a regular feeder scanner but only one side of the documents will get scanned at one time.  I could then turn the stack upside down and scan the other side.  But that would leave me with a grouping of the odd pages pages of the documents as pdf, and a grouping of the even pages.  How could I then rearrange/merge the pages so they appear as a normal sequence of odd-even in the pdf? Thanks.

    Hey all:
    Thanks for the positive feedback. I found myself needing to do some collating and reversing again, and discovered that the script didn't show up in Acrobat 9. So I updated the script, and moved the menu item into the "Document" menu.
    Unfortunately I can't figure out how to attach the updated script in the new form editor, so I'll inline it. Copy the following script into a file and install it into your Javascripts folder, as before.
    // Complements: Planet PDF (http://www.planetpdf.com/)

    Please help me...
    Thanks and Regards

    I want to remove a row from jtable. I am using DefaultTableModel.How do you program without reading the API.
    The name of the method you use is "removeRow". How hard is that to find by reading the API?
    Not only do you not bother to read the API, you don't even bother to read and respond to your old postings when you get help:

  • Remove a row from multiple tables

    Hello,
    I have a form that has what appears to be one table.  Since I needed 30 columns (29 of them are single character fields) I had to use 2 table objects.  Then I needed the ability to add and remove rows.  Adding a row at the end is easy enough.  Deleting a specific row is the problem.  At the moment, I added a third table which has a header row and a item body row.  the body row is a button with the intention of removing that entire row from the large table.  This means it needs to remove the row from all 3 tables.
    My structure is:
    form1
    (Some other flowed subform that doesn't matter for us)
    SubformPersonnel (a flowed subform)
    SubformHeader (a positioned subform)
    TextOverallHeader (text to label the oeverall 3 tables)
    ButtonAddRow (adds a row to the end of all 3 tables)
    SubformPersonnelTable (a positioned subform)
    ContractorTableRemove (a table with 1 column for the Remove button)
    HeaderRow (A hidden row to align the table with the other 2)
    Item (A row with the Remove button)CellRemoveButton (the cell with the remove button and associated JavaScript)
    ContractorTableLeft (a table with the left 15 printed columns)
    HeaderRow
    Contractor (A row of data to be removed when CellButton above is clicked)
    ContractorTableRight (a table with the right 15 printed columns)
    HeaderRow
    Contractor (A row of data to be removed when CellButton above is clicked)
    (Some other flowed subforms that I am not worried about at the moment)
    The 3 tables are aligned so the headers all line up, with no spaces between them.  The body rows then line up and this looks like one large table.  From left to right, they are:
    ContractorTableRemove, ContractorTableLeft, ContractorTableRight
    So Item and Contractor rows are added when ButtonAddRow is clicked in the overall header.  The intial count is set to 8 for each table, so I get 8 rows at startup. The minimum count is set to 1 for each.  I know that each row of each table has the same index number because I filled those into a cell in each table durig the cell's initialize.  This line, in the CellRemoveButton's click event deletes that cell's row in that table:
    this.parent.parent._Item.removeInstance(this.parent.index);
    I have tried all sorts of ways to delete the same row (using same index #) in the other 2 tables: ContractorTableLeft and ContractorTableRight, but don't seem to be getting the correct syntax correct.  I have tried hard coding the references, using .parent as shown below, and also tried using an index of 1 just to try deleting a row with no results.
         this.parent.parent.parent.ContractorTableLeft._Contractor.removeInstance(this.parent.inde x);
    Can someone get me the correct syntax here?
    I have seen examples of putting a hidden delete button on each table and clicking that, but I am concerned that it will get in the way of the tables on either side of the table it is in.  I reeally want to just reference the row and remove it so I can avoid any problems these additional delete problems may cause.
    I have copied the form to https://acrobat.com/#d=7M8R50rEHf4AaVXppwyKLw

    Thank you, Niall.  Much appreciated!
    The Delete button was more to make sure one could delete these outside a button in the actual row and I see I had the index wrong such that I was deleting the second row and not the first.  I had toyed with using this as a hidden button if I could pass the index to the event's function.
    I had not thought of adding the reference to each row as a variable.  It seems to work very well.
    For future reference to others, here is the code from the cellRemoveButton click event:
         // Declare some variables
         var i = this.parent.index;
         var oContractorLeft = ContractorTableLeft.Contractor;
         var oContractorRight = ContractorTableRight.Contractor;
         // Remove this row by accessing its index within the set of 'Item' row instances of the parent table
         _Item.removeInstance(i);
          // Since this table is actually 3 tables, we need to remove the other two table's instances as well.
         // Their index should be the same, so we just need to get their names correct.
         oContractorLeft.instanceManager.removeInstance(i);
         oContractorRight.instanceManager.removeInstance(i);
          // removing the row doesn't trigger calculations in tables in the form's current target (fixed in later versions of Acrobat)
         // force calculations to fire so the ItemIndex field's value is updated according to the remaining row's indexes
         // see http://forms.stefcameron.com/2006/05/20/add-recalculate/
         xfa.form.recalculate(1);
    Again, thank you!

  • How to remove the row entries

    HI,
    I have a row entry which contains radio button,dropdown,input field,calender.All the fields are dynamic
    All these fields(UI elements) are in one line and these are not in the table.If I add new entry(by clicking NEW ENTRY button),then a new row will be added dynamically with the same UI elements in the new row.Means every new row entry contains radio button,dropdown,input field,calender.
    Problem :- I want to delete one row entries.Means if I delete the 5th row entries,then it should remove all the UI elements(radio button,dropdown,input field,calender) from that 5th row entries only.
    I think I am clear about the requirement.
    Please suggest me how to remove a row entry.These UI elemenets are not table entry.
    Regards
    -Sandip

    Hi Sandeep,
    You can use the below code for deleting a row from table.
    int n = wdContext.nodeProducts().size();//size of node binded with table
    int leadSelected = wdContext.nodeProducts().getLeadSelection();
    // loop backwards to avoid index troubles
    for (int i = n - 1; i >= 0; --i)
    if (wdContext.nodeProducts().isMultiSelected(i) || leadSelected == i )
    wdContext.nodeProducts().removeElement(wdContext.nodeProducts().
    getElementAt(i))
    Hope this will help.
    Regards

  • Remove active rows from a filter context

    Hey,
    I have a problem that nags me for a couple of days …
    My problem is about people (dimSomeOne) who try something (dimThing) on a certain day (dimDate). Each try is finished with a status (dimStatus). It is possible that a distinct person has 1 or more trys for the same thing on the same day. This can be seen (if
    you watch at the worksheet fact, available on dropbox :-) ) for the 19th of march, here someone 1 has tried 2times the thing A, and finished with the status 1. What I'm looking for is the number of distinct SOMEONES on a specific day for a specific
    status. If SOMEONE has more than one status on the same day, this SOMEONE will just be counted for his MAX status. SOMEONE 1 has the status 2 and 3 on the 20th of March and therefor SOMEONE 1 will just be counted for STATUS 3 and not for STATUS 2
    For the context dimTraining:A / dimStatus:2 / dimDate:20.03.2015 there are 5 active rows: theRowNumber 3,4,5,8,11. I want to remove the rows 3,4,5 due to the fact that they "belong" to someone 1 and the fact that someone 1 has the max stauts of 3
    on that date.
    I'm able to produce a DAX query that returns the a result that has the correct number of someone's for the the date and the status
    evaluate(
    summarize(
    filter(
    addcolumns(
    summarize(
    'fact',[aDate],[someone],[aStatus]
    --,[theRowNumber]
    ,"maxstatus"
    ,calculate(max(fact[aStatus]),all(fact[aStatus]))
    ,fact[aStatus] = [maxstatus]
    ,[aDate],[someone],[aStatus],[maxStatus]
    --,[therownumber]
    order by
    [aDate],[someone],[aStatus]
    , but I'm not able to use this in calculated measure.
    Showing the value 2 for the context: TRAINING:A / STATUS:2 / DATE:2015-03-20
    As always any help is appreciated
    By the way here is a xlsx file that contains my sample data and there are also two measures that unfortunately do not solve my problem:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/anxn0vmrjzpiewx/TheDistinctSomeOneThing.xlsx?dl=0

    Hey Imke,
    thanks for bringing up the calculated column thing, I have to admit that most of the time I'm trying to avoid adding additional in-memory footprint by using calculated columns. But in comparison to the amount of fact rows (a couple of millions) the amount
    of distinct status values (blank(), 1,2,3, 4) does not count that much.
    But your suggested solution for the simple calculated measure has a little flaw due to the things distinctcount counts (even a NULL is counted), this can be seen if you add another "someone" to the dimSomeOne table and another fact row for the 20th
    of March / thing:A / astatus:2
    test2:=distinctcount([validStatus]) still shows the value 2, but now it should show 3
    I tweaked your suggestion for the measure a little using distinctcout for fact[someone]
    testFinal:=calculate(distinctcount(fact[someone]);not(isblank(fact[ValidStatus])))
    and I also changed the false part from 0 --> blank() for the calculated column.
    So, thanks again for bringing up the calculated column stuff, that I personally consider most of the time as an evil thing ;-) and sorry that my example was a way to simple, neglecting the distinct values fact of distinctcount

  • Unstable upper and lower pixel row

    Hi there,
    When I export I see an unstable upper and lower pixel row. It flickers. Doesn't matter which codec or which player I use (although it is worse in MPEG stream clip player)
    I also see it (although somewhat less) in my viewer pane in FCP X environment.
    When I watch troublesome video;s on my Macbook Pro It is stable. Nothing's wrong then.
    Could it be because I am working on a so calles Hackintosh. Has it something to do with my videocard maybe ( NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2048 MB)?
    Thx!

    SSounds like you're looking at an interlaced format on a computer screen. Interlacing is designed solely for television playback. Don't know where you're trying to go but some formats will deinterlace on export. Otherwise you should edit in a progressive project if you want to remove the interlacing.

  • Can't delete a file displayed in ListView ("File in use") even after removing it from window.

    I have a ListView displaying a collection of icons. The user can then select different icons (checkboxes) to do things like Copy or Delete.
    Problem is, when I try to delete the actual file from the disk, I get an error telling me the file is "in use" ("vshost.exe", the VS runtime during testing).
    I thought maybe it was because it still appeared in the window and was still in the ImageList, but even after removing it from both locations, I still get the error. My code:
    Dim intCnt As Integer = 0
    Do
    ImageList2.Images.RemoveAt(intIconsChecked(intCnt)) ' Remove from collection.
    lsvCollection.Items.RemoveAt(intIconsChecked(intCnt)) ' Remove from ListView window.
    FileIO.FileSystem.DeleteFile(strIconPath & "\Icon" & Format(intCnt + 1, "00") & ".rsc") ' "+1" b/c Icons start with "01".
    FileIO.FileSystem.DeleteFile(strIconPath & "\Icon" & Format(intCnt + 1, "00") & ".png") ' "In use" Error here.
    ".rsc" deletes just fine, so I know I'm deleting the correct file. Why does VS still think the file is still "in use"?
    Thx

    Mugsy,
    Consider this as food for thought, even if you don't use it.
    If you set it up right then you can control how it works. A reference is a reference and any left behind will cause you grief down the road when you try to delete things.
    As an example, a simple class follows. It does *not* implement IDispose, although it does have a private shared Dispose method in it:
    Public Class MyImages
    Private _bmp As Bitmap
    Private _name As String
    Private _sourceFilePath As String
    Private Sub New(ByVal bmp As Bitmap, _
    ByVal name As String, _
    ByVal filePath As String)
    _bmp = bmp
    _sourceFilePath = filePath.Trim
    _name = name.Trim
    End Sub
    Public ReadOnly Property Bmp As Bitmap
    Get
    Return _bmp
    End Get
    End Property
    Public ReadOnly Property Name As String
    Get
    Return _name
    End Get
    End Property
    Public ReadOnly Property SourceFilePath As String
    Get
    Return _sourceFilePath
    End Get
    End Property
    Public Shared Sub AddNew(ByRef miList As List(Of MyImages), _
    ByVal imageFilePath As String)
    Try
    If miList Is Nothing Then
    Throw New ArgumentNullException("The collection of MyImages cannot be null.")
    ElseIf String.IsNullOrEmpty(imageFilePath) OrElse imageFilePath.Trim = "" Then
    Throw New ArgumentException("The file path of the image cannot be null or empty.")
    ElseIf Not My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(imageFilePath) Then
    Throw New IO.FileNotFoundException("The file path of the image could not be located.")
    Else
    ' Should do validation here that the file
    ' is actually an image but I'll not do this
    ' here...
    Dim thisBMP As Bitmap = New Bitmap(imageFilePath)
    miList.Add(New MyImages(thisBMP, GetFileNameWithoutExtension(imageFilePath), imageFilePath))
    End If
    Catch ex As Exception
    Throw
    End Try
    End Sub
    Public Shared Sub AddNew(ByRef miList As List(Of MyImages), _
    ByVal imageFilePath As String, _
    ByVal imageName As String)
    Try
    If miList Is Nothing Then
    Throw New ArgumentNullException("The collection of MyImages cannot be null.")
    ElseIf String.IsNullOrEmpty(imageFilePath) OrElse imageFilePath.Trim = "" Then
    Throw New ArgumentException("The file path of the image cannot be null or empty.")
    ElseIf Not My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(imageFilePath) Then

    Throw New ArgumentException("The name of this image cannot be null or empty.")
    Else

    Dim thisBMP As Bitmap = New Bitmap(imageFilePath)
    miList.Add(New MyImages(thisBMP, imageName, imageFilePath))
    End If
    Catch ex As Exception
    Throw
    End Try
    End Sub
    Public Shared Sub Remove(ByRef miList As List(Of MyImages), _
    ByVal imageFilePath As String, _
    Optional ByVal removeFilePathAlso As Boolean = False)
    Try
    If miList Is Nothing Then
    Throw New ArgumentNullException("The collection of MyImages cannot be null.")
    ElseIf String.IsNullOrEmpty(imageFilePath) OrElse imageFilePath.Trim = "" Then
    Throw New ArgumentException("The file path of the image cannot be null or empty.")
    ElseIf Not My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(imageFilePath) Then
    Throw New IO.FileNotFoundException("The file path of the image could not be located.")
    Else
    Dim findInstance As System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable(Of MyImages) = _
    From mi As MyImages In miList _
    Where mi.SourceFilePath = imageFilePath
    If findInstance.Count <> 1 Then
    Throw New ArgumentException("The instance of MyImages specified by the" & vbCrLf & _
    "image file path is not in the collection.")
    Else
    Dispose(findInstance.First)
    If removeFilePathAlso Then
    My.Computer.FileSystem.DeleteFile(findInstance.First.SourceFilePath)
    End If
    miList.Remove(findInstance.First)
    End If
    End If
    Catch ex As Exception
    Throw
    End Try
    End Sub
    Private Shared Sub Dispose(ByVal instance As MyImages)
    If instance IsNot Nothing AndAlso instance._bmp IsNot Nothing Then
    instance._bmp.Dispose()
    instance._bmp = Nothing
    End If
    End Sub
    End Class
    When you look through that, look specifically at the "Remove" method and in particular, look at the order in which things are done. That's the critical part in this.
    I tested it with a simple form:
    Two buttons, a checkbox, and a picturebox. I also copied a small folder full of image files to my desktop since I'll be deleting a file from it. Following is the code for Form1:
    Option Strict On
    Option Explicit On
    Option Infer Off
    Imports System.IO.Path
    Public Class Form1
    Private miList As New List(Of MyImages)
    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, _
    ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _
    Handles MyBase.Load
    Dim desktop As String = _
    My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories.Desktop
    Dim imgFolder As String = _
    Combine(desktop, "Images")
    PictureBox1.BorderStyle = BorderStyle.FixedSingle
    For Each imgFilePath As String In My.Computer.FileSystem.GetFiles(imgFolder)
    MyImages.AddNew(miList, imgFilePath)
    Next
    btn_RemoveFirstImage.Enabled = False
    CheckBox_RemoveSourcePath.Enabled = False
    End Sub
    Private Sub btn_ShowFirstImage_Click(sender As System.Object, _
    e As System.EventArgs) _
    Handles btn_ShowFirstImage.Click
    Try
    If miList.Count >= 1 Then
    With PictureBox1
    .SizeMode = PictureBoxSizeMode.Zoom
    .Image = miList(0).Bmp
    End With
    btn_RemoveFirstImage.Enabled = True
    CheckBox_RemoveSourcePath.Enabled = True
    End If
    Catch ex As Exception
    MessageBox.Show(String.Format("An exception was thrown:{0}{0}{1}", vbCrLf, ex.Message), _
    "Exception", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Warning)
    End Try
    End Sub
    Private Sub btn_RemoveFirstImage_Click(sender As System.Object, _
    e As System.EventArgs) _
    Handles btn_RemoveFirstImage.Click
    Try
    If miList.Count >= 1 Then
    MyImages.Remove(miList, miList(0).SourceFilePath, CheckBox_RemoveSourcePath.Checked)
    End If
    PictureBox1.Image = Nothing
    btn_RemoveFirstImage.Enabled = True
    CheckBox_RemoveSourcePath.Enabled = True
    Catch ex As Exception
    MessageBox.Show(String.Format("An exception was thrown:{0}{0}{1}", vbCrLf, ex.Message), _
    "Exception", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Warning)
    End Try
    End Sub
    End Class
    Running it is straightforward:
    Now when I click to show the first one:
    A different image is shown because that first one no longer exists - either in the collection or in the folder.
    Closing/disposing all references is the key and the order matters.
    Something to consider the next time around. :)
    Still lost in code, just at a little higher level.

  • How can I use more lines to show a field of a row in a report?

    How can I use more lines to show a field of a row in a report? Table A have two columns: (c1 number(5),c2 varchar2(1000)).When I show the table on a report,the column c2 show itself in one row.So the width of html page is very wide.How can I split the field c2 to many lines?
    Thanks for any help.

    I was wondering if an answer was found for this one.
    I have the same problem using the default "Look 4" template for the region. I have found in the CSS file where it is defined and it specifies "nowrap" in the style, which is why the long value is not being split over multiple lines.
    So, my question is, without modifying or creating templates, is there a way to override the "nowrap" attribute from within the item definition? e.g. in the Column Attributes.Column Formatting.CSS Style field. I had some success changing the display properties, such as background colour and font size but I can't seen to override the nowrap attribute!

  • Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work

    I've got following problem: Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work. Not in Preview, nor Adobe Reader. I Don't know why. i'm using a hp Color LaserJet 2550L. I just worked fine, but I cannot remember the time this failing first occured. I really hope the problem will be solved quick and easy.
    Thanks so far
    Bastian.

    Mine does not work either. I have trashed prefs, rewrote permissions, ran Disk Utility from a separate HD, etc. and I cannot get this feature to work.
    I got 45 odd pages to print last night and now it won't print odd or even pages. I am reduced to printing every backside page one at a time. If I would have known about this problem before I could have saved myself an hour and just printed them all on single sided sheets. I tried to save paper and now I'm screwed (timewise)......
    Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
