Odd Spacing in IE 6 and 7

Question

I always seem to have this problem. My new site: www.simonephysicalmedicine.com has odd spacing problems in Internet Explorer 6 and 7. I've validated my pages to no avail. The site is online. Can someone please help me.
If possible can you explain your fix so I can figure it out for myself next time this occurs.

First, on all sites, explain that Microsoft's browsers are not compliant with generally accepted standards and provide a link to one that is.

Now, people are telling me that Internet Exploiter 8 doesn't need the last "if" statement. But my brother uses IE 8 and he says my pages look fine.
