Odf-converter, mono and unzip problems

Hi, I'm having problems getting the odf-converter from the AUR to work. Seems it's some kind of problem with the unzip. I have the listed dependencies installed (libzip, glib2). Am I missing some settings, do need to setup my Mono install somehow (all I did was pacman -S mono)? Or is it a bug in the source packages?
Here's the output I'm getting:
ogi@ogi-laptop:~$ odf-converter some_doc.xlsx /LEVEL 1
[INFO][some_doc.xlsx] Converting file: some_doc.xlsx into some_doc.ods
[ERROR][some_doc.xlsx] Conversion failed - Error during conversion

Done.

Resurrecting this old thread on purpose.
Did anybody ever solve this? I'm the owner of the odf-converter AUR package, and I just tried to actually use it for the first time. It's now on 3.0, and was no newer than 2.0 when the above posts were written. I'm surprised that it still fails the same way.
I wonder if this is a 64-bit problem. The zip code in the source package is shipped as a 32-bit Windows binary. Can somebody verify?
Can somebody at least explain what the error says? I'm unfamiliar with Mono and have only the most basic C# skills.

    Good day,
I have installed Acrobat DC, and would like to combine 2 files. One is excel allready converted to PDF - No problem. The other one is from Pastel mailed as PDF.
When trying to merge the files, this file ask for a Password. No password was issued from the setup or mail?

    Good day abrieb93050306,
I can understand your concern, however can you please let me know that are you able to open both the PDF files ( the one you converted form excel to pdf & the other pdf that was mailed to you ) individually without using any password?
As it asks for the password, it means that the postal mailed PDF is password protected. You can ask for the password from the sender of the postal mail & then try to combine the files.
Please follow the steps in the provided KB doc.to combine the files : Combine files into single PDF | Adobe Acrobat DC tutorials
This will probably resolve your issue.
Let me know if you still experience any issue.

  • How to convert FLV and F4V files to other media formats

How to convert FLV and F4V files to other media formats
Nowadays, every one can download their favorite videos from video sharing websites like YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, Google Video, metacafe, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com and so on at will. However, these video files we got are usually in the format of FLV, or F4V, which are not workable by most portable devices, or some video players and video editors on our PC. With the intention of solving these problems, this guide will show you how to convert FLV and F4V files to other video and audio formats in detail.
    1. Download, install and run Pavtube FLV Converter
As soon as you run this program, the following wine red interface will show up:
    2. Add files, set output format and destination folder
Input FLV and F4V files to this program by clicking on “Add” button, and select a format as the output format in the drop-down list of “Format”, meanwhile, you can press the output folder to specify the destination folder or just use the path set by default. Moreover, “merge into one file” enables you to combine multiple FLV and F4V files to be as a single file, if you have this needs, just tick it.
    3. Set advanced settings
Click “Settings” button, the following interface will pop up. You can change the parameters like screen size, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, etc. on it to optimize the output quality or compress file size.
    4. Convert
After all settings are done, you can press “Convert” button to start transferring, and then the following window will show you the conversion info in detail. According to the info you can manage your time and disk space properly.
Pavtube FLV Converter can definitely complete the conversion at a swift speed with excellent quality; also it adopts an advanced audio-video sync technology, so that audio and video match very well in the resulted files. Therefore you need not worry about these issues.

  • Firewire 400 and 800 problem ? Need confirmation

OK, I have been running 2 external Lacie HD's over a USB hub into my MacBook Pro. A couple of weeks ago I decided that I needed more storage so purchased 2 Western Digital MyBook Pro's at 500GB.
I got these two specifically because I knew they supported Firewire 800 and wanted to take advantage of the high speed connection.
All is going well until yesterday.... Let me explain my set up. Firstly I am a DJ and use a Firewire Audiophile soundcard from M-Audio, this connects to the 400 port on my MacBook Pro, and the HD's connect to the 800... When I play music I get audio drop outs... I have looked through the forums and I am under the impression that both the 400 and 800 ports on my MacBook Pro run on the same connect, so is this the cause of the audio drop outs ?
I connect the 2 HD's via USB and have no problems, am I right in thinking that I have wasted good money on getting 2 HD's that I'm not going to be able to use the 800 port with ? When I run the audio through the internal soundcard I get no drop outs !
Also.... Just to annoy me even more I have a 20" cinema display so if I have use USB I decided to connect the two HD's to this and then to the MacBook Pro, now the problem here is when my MacBook Pro goes to sleep one of the HD's wakes up the MacBook Pro as it has been removed incorrectly ??? Do I now have a problem with one of my USB ports on the cinema screen also ????? I have put my iPod in the port and no problems ?
Does anyone know how I can solve these problems without having to spend even more money ?
And can someone confirm if the 400 and 800 ports are on the same connection, if so, whats the point ???
    Thanks
    - Neil

    neil,
I wouldn't do that right away.. USB audio interfaces are usually at the more consumer end of the market, I don't think it's the best way to go just to solve your problem.
did you read the part in my post about PCexpress cards that give you a totally new and independent FW800 bus? seriously, I think this is your best bet. these cards first came out when the original series of MBP didn't have FW800 on them (only 400) much to the consternation of video pros.. so 3rd party vendors made a card solution. as I said, they aren't expensive, I would have thought around or under $100 US. connect one of those to your MBP's express slot and your problem is solved. you'll have a powerful, dedicated FW channel just for those FW800 drives you bought. then, your m-audio interface will be fine. and even if you still want to get rid of it and get a better interface, you won't be forced to go to USB which generally means opting for a lower end of the market interface.
also one other thing.. I don't know what your actual audio i/o needs are. but if you only ever work with stereo out and stereo in, ie, you never need more than 2 physical outputs and 2 physical inputs, then you have other options. the MBP (and in fact all macs) have optical digital audio built in. you can buy a 2in 2out digital to analog/analog to digital converter and connect it to the opticals. then, you'll never need to worry about FW or USB bandwidth ever again, nor will you ever need to think about drivers or compatibility or updates either.
on my MBP I use logic pro. and on this system, I only ever need a stereo out to hear what I'm working on with good quality.. and when I record actual audio tracks, it's only ever one source at a time, like a mic input or an instrument. so I do not need an interface at all, I use the opticals and I love it. I bought a mindprint trio, not the USB one, but the one that uses optical i/o. it just connects to the same connectors on the MBP that you would connect headphones or a mic, but obviously uses the digital optical signal not analog audio. it sounds really very good. the trio itself is a very handy little box that conveniently lets you do a lot of things to work comfortable when recording. and I just use built-in sound, no drivers needed ever, which is very much a rare relief in the audio world, believe me.
anyway, hope this helps. and seriously check out a card for FW800, in my opinion it's the best solution to your problem no matter which way you go.

    END

You can search the forums for that error message and find previous discussions - they all boil down to the same problem.  Somewhere in your query that calls this function, the code invoked implicitly converts from string to date/datetime.  In general,
this works in any version of sql server if the runtime settings are correct for the format of the string data.  The fact that it works in one server and not in another server suggests that the query executes with different settings - and I'll assume for
the moment that the format of the data involved in this conversion is consistent within the database/resultset and consistent between the 2 servers.
I suggest you read Tibor's guide to the datetime datatype (via the link to his site below) first - then go find the actual code that performs this conversion.  It may not be in the function you posted, since that function also executes other functions.
You also did not post the query that calls this function, so this function may not, in fact, be the source of the problem at all.

  • Travel schema unzip problem

when i downloaded and unzipped the travel schema, the resulting dump files included "binary" or non-ascii characters. the download/unzip process was performed using numerous unzip utilities... please advise
So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
    - Server name
    - Filename
    - Date/Time
    - Browser + Version
    - O/S + Version
    - Error Msg

Is this wise? You are quite right to be concerned. Granting ALL PRIVILEGES is a dodgy thing to do. In mitigation I might say that the TRAVEL schema is a sample piece of code and so should only be installed on a development database, where the damage can be limited.
But I think the real problem is that the sample code was developed by Java programmers who couldn't be bothered to work out exactly what privileges were needed. Shocking, yes, but hardly uncommon. And the poltroons have also included instructions on how to
To Download and install the travel schema into the SYSTEM tablespace:
No no no! No application objects go into the SYSTEM schema. What's the point of us non-Oracle people banging on about best practice if their own employees are allowed to post stuff like this on OTN? Sack these bozos!
What's the minimum amount of privileges that I can grant to travel? I have absolutely no idea. I think the safest thing is to build a new database instance, so that the potential for damage is limited. Alternatively, grant CONNECT and RESOURCE and see how far that goes. You may have to grant additional powers. I see they also grant JAVASYSPRIV and JAVAUSEPRIV. Horrible, simply horrible.

  • EZ Vinyl converter to I Tunes problem

Hello, I am converting my old LPs to MP3 using an ION turntable and EZ Vinyl converter software. The turntable combined with the software records the music fine, when I click to finish, the software automatically transfers to Itunes....so far so good. But when the Itunes program is opened a box comes up indicating that EZ Vinyl Converter is "UNABLE TO EXPORT TO I TUNES.PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE ANY ACTIVE WINDOWS IN I TUNES"
What happens next is that certain tracks are exported to I tunes, but some are missing and most of the ones that are exported are duplicated. Any ideas anyone ?
    Many thanks.

Thanks for your input ed2345. As I explained Audacity is complicated but you can record simply without having to wade through reams of instructions, the only thing is that LPs are recorded as one file or song, so when you transfer to ITunes it is treated as one song, so you cannot search for each individual track as you can if you load a CD to ITunes.
There is a ficility on Audacity to have a break between each song so you can then search each track individually, but then that means you have to learn the editing side of Audacity and here lies the problem for me. I have spent the last 4 nights in bed for at least 30 minutes each night reading the Audacity instructions and I am only 10% through them and to be honest I am no farther ahead.
On the EZ vinyl converter software that is so simple, there is a facility when recording the make a marker at the end of each track so then a new file or track is started.....the only thing is EZ Vinyl converter software has a problem at the moment !
Anyway, here I am with 100s of LPs and not able to listen to them yet.
    Many thanks.

  • Converting feet and inches to pixels

I design Video Content for live shows. Often my set designer comes up with bizarre screen sizes. I am looking for a simple app that converts feet and inches into pixels. I want to be able to determine the pixel equivilent of his screen dimensions so that I can create a mask. I have done this using Photoshop, but it would be so much easier if I could simple input the dimensions and then get my results.
    Here's a typical size he would give me...8' by 100 yards ( I know that's insane) or 37' by 17 '
    Any help would be apprecitated

    Johnny,
Trust me ... I'm no mathematical wizard or
technoguru, but it seems that as long as you know the
aspect ratio of the screen you need to fill and you
match that, the actual pixel dimensions would be more
of a issue of the display device (a projector, I'm
    assuming).
For example, I output 720 x 480 (NTSC DV) to tape or
640 x 480 (DVD-Video) all the time that is later
projected on a variety of different sized screens.
If the screen is a 4:3 aspect ratio, my video fills
the screen if the projector is positioned correctly
and the right lens is used.
    -DH
    Thanks for the replies guys.
The problem is that he never gives me ratios, he just gives me stratight sizes.
I build these in 720 x 480 and they are sent through some unexplicable beta/do-ray-me configuration to output on giant LED walls. The resolution doesn't matter. This strange output configuration only reads my video the same as if I was outputting straight from FCP.
On one job he gave me the simple 16:9 ratio and I simply put a 16:9 matte on everything within a 720 x 480 using Joe's Filter Beta "Joe’s Aspect Matte RT".
That was easy. What gets tricky is when he gives me some strange size like
37 feet high by 6 feet wide. Is there an easy way to figure out this ratio and then build it within 720 x 480 using a matte. If I knew the pixel numbers of 37' by 6' I could just adjust my matte accordingly.

I believe (although I don't want to put words in his mouth) that Madan has run across a similar problem that I am trying to solve.
For instance if I have the following files:
    c:\pic1.gif
    c:\pic2.gif
c:\pic3.gifand I zip them in to a file called: pics.zip the will unzip just fine.
However, if I have them in a directory:
    c:\pics\pic1.gif
    c:\pics\pic2.gif
c:\pics\pic3.gifA listing of the zip files (all using java of-course) will show the files and dirs correctly:
    \pics\pic1.gif
      \pics\pic2.gif
\pics\pic3.gifbut will give the following error if you try to un-zip them:
"The system cannot find the path specified"The ZipEntry class has an 'isDirectory()' method, but it only returns true in the case of an EMPTY directory. If , as in my example, there is an actual file at the end of the entry, it returns false.
So, at least in my case, I would be looking for advice on how to expand files that reside in directories within the zip file.
Thank You for any help you can provide

It helps to be more descriptive when you post and tell us exactly what you are doing.
That being said, I guess that you are going to file>save for web & devices. The checkerboard that you are seeing simply means that those areas are transparent.
