Hi,
It means it cannot connect to planning, it needs to be able to access planning via the RMI registry on port 11333.
Cheers

Where to look for the source of this trouble?Did anything change with your NIC/interface settings? Or VPN software installed? IPMP set up? I've seen things like this happen when an interface had been flagged as online... but has no IP info assigned. SunMC is going to try to grab ports on each interface... and if one doesn't have an IP assigned it will fail.

• ODI 11.1.1.6 unable to reverse engineer table

I created a new table and added it in the ODI repository. When I refresh the data I can see the number of rows changing so I presume that everything is ok with the connection and the driver.
The problem occurs when I try to reverse engineer columns, it prompts me to save the model and then nothing happens, I can't get the columns. I also tried with smaller table that had only one column but it still couldn't get the columns.

Hi
In that time your model is opened, if yes close it and open your model and do reverse engine, still it is showing same issue close and open you ODI studio it will come. this issue will come very rare cases.

• Cannot connect to Planning from SmartView

Hi to all! :)
I tried it both in Excel 2007 and 2003 and I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3. When in Excel, I went to Hyperion>Options and put http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/SmartView as Hyperion Provider Service URL. Next, when I go to Data Source Manager, no Hyperion Planning applications appear in the tree, even the tree does not appear with its folders. And when I click Connect to Provider Services in Data Source Manager, SmartView throws a message box: Unable to load the following resource: Please enter user credential to login. After closing that box and clicking Connect to Provider Services for the second time, then already nothing happens and even the error box does not appear.
However, if I put http://servername:13080/aps/SmartView as Hyperion Provider Service URL, then Data Source Manager shows Essbase cubes. So I would be immensely grateful for any hint on where I should look into to solve this problem :)

use the aps/SmartView link, that is the proper link through Provider services. The other link is used in the independent connection, not the common connection.
make sure that the 'predefined' button is selected to 'all' not 'favorites'
to add a planning server right click on the Hyperion Planning folder and click 'add'

• [SOLVED]Cannot Connect to Wireless Network during Installation

(Sorry, yet another newbie unable to configure a network connection properly)
I've been using Ubuntu for a little while now (since 11.10), and finally decided to give Arch a try (for a number of reasons). I thought I was comfortable enough with the CLI to be able to set this up, especially with the help of the Beginners' Guide (and the rest of the internet), but I still ran into issues with setting up my network connection (practically the first step, ugh).
Following the instructions in the Beginners' Guide, I first brought the interface up with
# ip link set wlp5s4 up
and then used
# wifi-menu wlp5s4
to try and connect, but it gave me a connection failed error.
# systemctl status netctl@wlp5s4\x2dWIN_030.service
gave me the following:
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/[email protected]; static)
Active: inactive (dead)
(I'll post the output of 'journalctl -xn' if someone can tell me an easy way to move it between computers, or I'll type it manually if there's no easier way)
I then proceeded to attempt connect without using wifi-menu. I first did
# wpa_supplicant -B -i wlp3s0 -c <(wpa_passphrase "ssid" "psk")
(replacing ssid and psk with the right info, of course), and got the output
Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
I then did
# dhcpcd wlp5s4
but this timed out.
Following the instructions, I went to the fallback, starting with
# echo 'ctrl_interface=DIR=/run/wpa_supplicant' > /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
# wpa_passphrase <ssid> <passphrase> >> /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
The second command resulted in
zsh: parse error near `<'
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but that's what I've done so far. I apologize if this seems like information overload, but I felt more info is better than less.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what my next moves should be? If you want me to post any logs, please let me know.
Last edited by DaimyoKirby (2013-11-03 14:54:15)

Here are the results.
I went through the initial steps, and started the without wifi-menu steps. When I got to where I had a problem previously, this is what happened:
# echo 'ctrl_interface=DIR=/run/wpa_supplicant' > /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
# wpa_passphrase <ssid> <passphrase> >> /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
# ip link set wlp5s4 up
I replaced "<ssid>" and "<passphrase>" correctly this time, and all of these commands passed without any output.
I ran into the next command, though, and wasn't exactly sure about it:
# wpa_supplicant -B -D n180211 -c /foobar.conf -i wlp5s4
I assumed I had to replace "/foobar.conf" with "/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf", and this gave me the following output:
Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
wlp5s4: Unsupported driver 'n180211'
The Beginners' Guide doesn't indicate what outputs you should get from these commands, so assuming that this was a good output, I ran
dhcpcd wlp5s4
but this just ended up timing out as well.

I tried to install archlinux according to beginner's guide and there is only wifi available to me. I followed instructions given by beginner's guide and when I run

I don't think the message "platform microcode: Direct firmware load failed with error -2"
has anything to do with wifi.  See this thread.  What kernel are you running?
Back to the Wifi.  If you can see the access point in wifi-menu, then your network is working.   After you try to connect, what does ip addr report?
After entering wifi-menu, I get the following messages:
Select the network you wish to use
Flag description:
* - handmade profile present
+ - automatically generated profile present
- - no profile present
! - active connection present

TP-LINK_C9 - wpa -61
miaomiao - wpa -79
happy tom - wpa -88
< OK > <Cancel>
I select the first one which is my wifi, and then enter OK, then it shows that:
Enter a name for the new profile
wlp3s0-TP-LINK_2A5F4A
< OK > <Cancel>
I entered OK, and get the following messages:
Enter wpa security key for 'TP-LINK_2A5F4A'
I entered the passwd of my wifi, but the following messages are listed:
CONNECTING FAILED
Do you want to keep the generated profile('wlp3s0-TP-LINK_2A5F4A')?
<YES> <NO>
I am sure the passwd for my wifi is right, so why does it show CONNECTING FAILED?
The kernel version is 3.13.5-1-ARCH

• Reverse engineer error with Hyperion Essbase and Planning

We are getting the following error in ODI Operator (3rd step) when trying to reverse-engineer Hyperion Essbase and Planning models. com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Cannot invoke a rollback operation when the AutoCommit mode is set to "true".
Our ODI repository resides in SQL Server.. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Dmitriy,
You should upgrade to the latest patch of ODI available on metalink.oracle.com 10.1.3.4.4.
There was an issue in 10.1.3.4 ODI with the intial reverse when using SQL server. If you shutdown all the ODI UI's and then restart. And then reverse it should work correctly. But you have to make sure you shut down all ODI tools.

• Safari Cannot Connect with Server (mountain lion) on wifi

I Posted this under Mountain Lion as Safari had no connectivity issues for me when I got my mbp and it had lion installed and ran beautifully-
NOW my apple (s) run fine on mountain lion
for a little bit,
and then I get "Safari Cannot Connect to Server"
Now during this frequent occurance the  APP store hangs and hangs as well.
This is most annoying-
The only way to use my apple products after this happens is to restart them
and then they work until they go into sleep mode,
sometimes they screw up before that and then
"Safari Cannot Connect to Server"
my Airport utility shows that it is scanning for  networks-
When I was right in the middle of buying something from amazon-- I had to go to my decrepit old windows xp connected up only for cox email to complete the transaction-
This is not acceptable. Since it occurs on both of my apple computers and only started when I installed mountain lion.
This has continually gotten worse to the point I must restart my laptop continually-
Apple better get the lead out of their butts and fix this glaring fault- or should I install another web browser?
which I am disinclined to do-
I spent a fortune on these apple products and I expect them to work properly- I went to apple because I was so sick of microsoft and its endless headaches and updates and freezes lol--
kind of funny if you think about it.

Hi BSU1960,
I found the solution to my problem on a different forum.  Turns out for some reason the anti-virus software that I run was interferring with my browsers' connecting to the internet.  Once I disabled the web protion of the anti-virus my problem went away.
I have a question to Kaspersky Security, hopefully will find out what was the root cause.

• Reverse engineer data model

I was trying to reverse engineer database information into a data model diagram in visio 2000.
I received the following error :
Encountered a fatal error during reverse engineer of information from database
My Database version is
Oracle9i Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.5.0 64bit
Is it true that Visio does not support Oracle 9i (as I was told) ? If so, is there any freeware on internet where I can do the same (reverse engineer)
Thanks

You can use most any ERD product to reverse engineer an existing system: oracle designer, ERWin ,ER/Studio, etc....
But it is likely to be a very manual process.
If the application does not make use of database defined FK, UK, and PK then you will likely be forced into reading source and/or running traces on application processes to follow the DML.

Hi,
Have they ever worked ?
Have you followed the golden rule, start RMI, EAS, Planning, Log into planning application through the web, Open EAS, create bus rule, select outline of the planning application you logged in.
Also it is definitely checking out document ID 763345.1 in metalink3 (My Oracle Support)

Hi,
It looks as though we got it to work. However the way we got it to work is a bit confusing. We had someone just login and try it. The only difference is they used the admin username instead of the one we were using. They successfully ran the reverse. Then we re-logged in with the other username we were using before and it worked.
I just realized however before they did that, I was on the Prod server trying to open and view the odiparams.bat file. I accidentally ran the file by choosing 'open' instead of 'edit'. Thus I'm thinking that running that odiparams.bat file actually fixed the issue rather than logging in with admin account.
What would your professional opinion be on this as we can't recreate the issue and figure out which one fixed it.
Thanks,

Any proposed answer for this ?
I face the same problem and my environment
and I've got same results as dle2k
1. TS lic mode is set to per user confirmed it works for windows clients.
2. the TS server's system log logged error "The Terminal Server security layer detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client".
3. the reports shows per user cal has been issued to users. no temp per device cal has been issued.
4. yes, CoRD works .

• Cannot connect to Reverse Proxy

Hi- I have what I think is a basic Lync setup, but it's basica-ally driving me crazy! What I have is:
1 Standard Edition Server
1 Edge Server
1 Reverse Proxy (IIS with ARR)
1 Office Web Apps Server
I've followed some of the numerous how-tos to set up these boxes. My internal setup works great with no issues.
I've worked with my security admin to get the firewall rules set up.. We have SSL certs  (with SANs) installed and assigned on RP and Edge. I've set up persistent routes on RP and Edge to FE server.  I can telnet from Reverse Proxy to Edge and
back. I've ran netstat to ensure both are listening on 443. But when I run the Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer (online) results show that connection to port 443 on the server failed and says that the port is either blocked or not listening.
Using the Lync Connectivity Analyzer (in house) shows that a connection to "Lyncdiscover.domain.com" failed.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanx

Public DNS records verified. (Although I do see some posts that say to create CNAME records instead of A records (we created A records) and other posts that say it doesn't matter.
Rewrite rules in IIS ARR verified.
I've triple-checked the certificate (issued by Digicert) and the simple URLs are all listed in the SAN:
sip.domain.com, meet.domain.com, dialin.domain.com, lyncdiscover.domain.com, and officewebapps.domain.com
Here's the error generated by the LCA:
An error occurred while sending the request.
Unable to connect to the remote server
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond [xx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:443
If I try to open the Default Web Site from the server, I'm first presented with "There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address" message.
Clicking on "continue to this website" I get a "403-Forbidden" error. I read in another post that this message was as expected.
Trying to connect to lyncdiscover.domain.com from a browser on the RP returns a "Server not found". [This leads me to believe that the request is not getting through the firewall]. Attempts to access the simple URLs returns a "This page cannot
be displayed"
All services work internally...
More telnet testing: As previously posted, I CAN telnet between RP and Edge (external IPs) but CANNOT telnet to public IP of RP on 443
A similar issue with the Edge Server: netstat shows 0.0.0.0:443 listening but cannot connect via telnet to public IP on 443
RELATED QUESTION: Do I need the SANs included on my internal cert, too?
Thanx

Is anything we need to config after change db machine IP?

yeah,I got it.Everything is ok now.
After change IP,we must open TopologyManager:change the JDBC connection of workrepository which must chose in Designer.
when we open the Designer ,it will connect to db.then coonect to workrepository with original IP.So,we must rechange workrepository's JDBC first!
