ODI - issue executing a SP against tables in different oracle instance....

Hello Gurus,
I have written a SP in an ODI Procedure [not calling an SP]. The tables are located in the ODIDEV schema on another Oracle instance. I have successfully used the same SP but my odidev schema has been on the same oracle instance as my other schemas.
I created a Model for the odidev schema. When I attampt to selective reverse the odidev schema, no tables are reversed. The connection appears to be successful. I am able to see the odidev schema using TOAD with the same username / password that I have entered in the ODI Physical Architecture.
What are the correct steps to execute this SP [again, the SQL is written in an ODI Procedure].
Many thanks!

Hi Steve,
You should have a look at metalink, Doc ID 1059547.1
If that does not help, there may be something else in Mater note ID 1353040.1
Best regards

  • How do you join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery

I am trying to join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without a problem. However, when I combine the select statements using a subquery I get the Oracle error *'ORA-00936: missing expression'*. Since each SELECT statement executes on its own without error I don't understand what is missing. The result set I am trying to get is to match up the LINE_ID from PDTABLE_12_1 in schema DD_12809 with the MAT_DESCRIPTION from table PDTABLE_201 in schema RA_12809.
    The query is as follows:
    sql = "SELECT [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].LINE_ID FROM [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1] JOIN " _
    + "(SELECT [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201].MAT_DESCRIPTION " _
    + "FROM [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201]) AS FAB " _
    + "ON [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS"
The format of the query is copied from a SQL programming manual.
I also tried executing the query using a straight JOIN on the two tables but got the same results. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
    Edited by: user11338343 on Oct 19, 2009 6:55 AM

I believe you are receiving the error because you are trying to JOIN on a column that doesn't exist. For example you are trying to join on FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS but that column does not exist in the subquery.
If you want to do a straight join without a subquery you could do the following
    SELECT  DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.LINE_ID
    ,       FAB.MAT_DESCRIPTION
    FROM    DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1
    JOIN    RA_12809.PDTABLE_201    AS FAB ON DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS  HTH!

ORA-06512: at line 7The problem is that your variable subject_obj is not in scope inside the dynamic SQL you are building. The SQL engine does not know your PL/SQL variable, so it tries to find a column named SUBJECT_OBJ in your SAM1 table.
If you need to use dynamic SQL for this, then you must bind the variable. Something like this:
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'insert into op_sample (select id,name,:bind_subject_obj from sam1) ' USING subject_obj;Alternatively you might figure out to use static SQL rather than dynamic SQL (if possible for your project.) In static SQL the PL/SQL engine binds the variables for you automatically.

  • Running HTMLDB against another Oracle Instance

I have an HTMLDB dashboard onto our system and would like to be able to run it against a different Oracle instance. Ideally would like to be able to choose the instance on the login screen. Currently we have to setup dblinks to each of our instances and then customise the application to select from the relevant instance. Any ideas?

AFAIK, Golden Gate has no requirement on Oracle edition to be used, but could have licence cost differences.
It works on Oracle from version 8i to the latest one, not only on Oracle database, and not only between same Oracle version and same OS, and not only between two Oracle db .

  • How to execute unix command through odi and store the result in table

I have to reconcile  if data is loaded in table from csv file or not . I have to create a oracle data integrator package/interface/procedure to execute unix command to count number of rows in the csv files and store the count result in a table then i have to query the loaded table and count number of rows there and store in the table and have to compare is counts are same or not,  Please assist me how to make package/interface/procedure to  execute unix command and store result in oracle table.

Use ODI OS command tool in the ODI package.
create an interface in ODI using LKM File to Sql and the output file generated with the csv file's row count as a source and the db table(where the count needs to be stored) as a target

  • Performance Issue Executing a BEx Query in Crystal Report E 4.0

    Dear Forum
I'm working for a customer with big performance issue Executing a BEx Query in Crystal via transient universe.
When query is executed directly against BW via RSRT query returns results in under 2 seconds.
When executed in crystal, without the use of subreports multiple executions (calls to BICS_GET_RESULTS) are seen. Runtimes are as long as 60 seconds.
The Bex query is based on a multiprovider without ODS.
The RFC trace shows BICS connection problems, CS as BICS_PROV_GET_INITIAL_STATE takes a lot of time.
I checked the note 1399816 - Task name - prefix - RSDRP_EXECUTE_AT_QUERY_DISP, and itu2019s not applicable because the customer has the BI 7.01 SP 8 and it has already
domain RSDR0_TASKNAME_LONG in package RSDRC with the
description: 'BW Data Manager: Task name - 32 characters', data
type: CHAR; No. Characters: 32, decimal digits: 0
data element RSDR0_TASKNAME_LONG in package RSDRC with the
description 'BW Data Manager: Task name - 32 characters' and the
                previously created domain.
    as described on the message
Could you suggest me something to check, please?
    Thanks en advance

    Hi,
It would be great if you would quote the ADAPT and tell the audience when it is targetted for a fix.
Generally speaking, CR for Enteprise  isn't as performant as WebI,  because uptake was rather slow .. so i'm of the opinion that there is improvements to be gained.   So please work with Support via OSS.
My onlt recommendations can be :
    - Patch up to P2.12 in bi 4.0
    -  Define more default values on the Bex query variables.
    - Implement this note in the BW 1593802    Performance optimization when loading query views

  • Ora-01574 against table QMS_TRANSACTIONS

We experience ora-01574 (too many transactions) when for about 10 concurrent users connect trough our headstart based application. Support analyzed trace files and told us that over 255 concurrent transactions occur against table QMS_TRANSACTIONS. Has anyone experienced this before?
I noticed that a sequence with interval 1 increases by thousands when the error raises. e.g. our sequence CURRVAL has value 800 before the ORA-01574 and 52000 after the ora-01574. We can resolve the issue when we kill the forms session which takes too much CPU and too much RAM. (> 30K). As long we do not kill that forms session, noone can commit form.

    Johan,
In the past there were reported other problems regarding qms_transactions. E.g. selecting a value from it took very long (> 20 seconds) and came back with answer 0 (zero).
This is the reason why we decided to make this table a temporary table in patch 6.5.2.3.
Do you run on this patch? If not, it's available via the iDevelopment Accellerator Supplement Option.
I'm interested whether this makes any difference.
    Kind regards, Marc

  • I'm facing performance issue while accessing the PLAF Table

    Dar all,
I'm facing performance issue while accessing the PLAF Table.
The START-OF-SELECTION of the report starts with the following select query.
SELECT plnum  pwwrk matnr gsmng psttr FROM plaf
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_tab
        WHERE matnr IN s_matnr
          AND pwwrk = p_pwwrk
          AND psttr IN s_psttr
          AND auffx = 'X'
          AND paart = 'LA' .
While executing the report in the Quality system it does not face any performance issue...
When it comes to Production System the above said select query itself it is taking 15 - 20 minutes time to move further.
Kindly help me to over come this problem...
    Regards,
    Jessi

    Hi,
    "Just implement its primary Key
WHERE PLNUM BETWEEN '0000000001' AND '9999999999' " By this you are implementing the Primary Key
This statement has nothing to do with performance, because system is not able to use primary key or uses every row.
Jessica, your query uses secondary index created by SAP:
1     (Material, plant) which uses fields MANDT MATNR and PLWRK.
but it is not suitable in your case.
You can consider adding new one, which would containt all fields: MANDT, MATNR, PWWRK, PSTTR AUFFX PAART
or - but it depends on number of rows meeting and not meeting (auffx = 'X' AND paart = 'LA' ) condition.
It could speed the performance, if you would create secondary index based on fields MANDT, MATNR, PWWRK, PSTTR
and do like Ramchander suggested: remove AUFFX and PAART from index and where section, and remove these unwanted rows
after the query using DELETE statement.
    Regards,
    Przemysław
Please check how many rows in production system

    Hello Vitor,
There are currently no known issues with version enabled tables that are partitioned. The merge operation may need to access all of the partitions of a table depending on the data that needs to be moved/copied from the child to the parent. This is the reason for the 'Partition Range All' step in the plan that you provided. The majority of the remaining steps are due to the hints that have been added, since this plan has provided the best performance for us in the past for this particular statement. If this is not the case for you, and you feel that another plan would yield better performance, then please let me know and I will take a look at it.
One suggestion would be to make sure that the table was been recently analyzed so that the optimizer has the most current data about the table.
Performance issues are very hard to fix without a reproducible test case, so it may be advisable to file a TAR if you continue to have significant performance issues with the mergeWorkspace operation.
    Thank You,
    Ben

  • Can I execute a query against an already populated RowSet object?

    Hi,
Is it possible to query an already retrieved RowSet object?
Something like "search within results" feature that many search engine posses .
    Thank you in advance, Kostas

There is no ready-made way to execute SQL queries against a ResultSet. Anyway, you shouldn't keep ResultSets open, you should convert them to collections of objects and close them.
When you get the ResultSet, loop over it, create an object of a suitable class from each row, and store those objects in a LinkedList.
When you need to search within the results, loop over the LinkedList and pick the objects you need.
Alternatively, re-execute the SQL query with the additional WHERE clauses appended to the original query.

  • Using execute immediate creating a table from another

hi friend i wanted to create a table from a select statement in a pl sql procedure. i am using execute immediate but getting problems with it pls can anyone help me.
here is the query i am using
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'CREATE TABLE table_name AS  (SELECT * FROM  a_view   WHERE column_name LIKE '%some_string%');
i need to know if this can be done and if yes how. pls help me its bit urgent too. the schema name is same and the privileges are available to create tables too.

    Your syntax is wrong.
If you would use a syntax higlighted editor, it would show.
Yout try to execute a string where another string is embedded. Please use two times single quote or use the 'q' function:
    This one is correct:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'CREATE TABLE table_name AS (SELECT * FROM  a_view WHERE column_name LIKE ''%some_string%'')';
    or this one:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE q'|CREATE TABLE table_name AS (SELECT * FROM  a_view WHERE column_name LIKE '%some_string%')|';
    good luck
