ODI Send Mail tool is sending thousands of mails

Hi,
In one of my ODI packages i have used ODI send mail to send the success notfication mails with error and log files attached.
It worked fine for a long time but today we have received nearly 9000 mails from this.
this package is loading data in to essbase and executing a calc script. while the package is in running mode, we killed the script from EAS as it is executing for more than double the time it do normally. Then immediately mails flow has been started. that too " success mails " . (we have two send mails- one for success and the other for failure notice).
I tried to figure out the problem. there were no changes. Except the "To" field. we gave the all the recipients emails separated by commas instead of adding a new line for each recipient. I executed a new send mail command with the same way (TO field). It executed fine.
Can any one help me to debug the error? is it caused by essbase/send mail? or any other reasons?
Thanks in advance :)

Thanks for your reply..
yes it was looped. but how the success mail was kicked off ?. we killed the script in Essbase so the package should execute failure mail step. Instead it executed the success mail.
any clue on this pls ?

  • Using ODI send mail tool in procedure

    Hi,
I want to use an ODI send mail option in procedure when certain condition is met.
    for example:
I have one table "Dummy_table" as
    Dummy_table
    PRODUCTID
    PRODTYPE
    PRODCODE
    11111
    A
    11111
    22222
    A
    22222
    33333
    B
    33333
    00000
    A
    00000
And a procedure which is trying to insert records in above table. In this procedure i want to add validation and when the validation is true, need to send mail.
    Mail to be triggered:
If PRODUCTID already exists in table then do not insert record with same PRODUCTID in table. Instead of that, call an ODI send mail tool from the procedure which is trying to insert duplicate entry.
Let's say my procedure is trying to insert record with PRODUCTID = "22222" . In this case, i dont want an entry to be inserted as it is already present. I want a mail to be triggered saying that this record is already present.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Sure, please follow the steps:
    1) First import one CKM to your project. If you are working with Oracle then you could use "CKM Oracle";
    2) Open your Interface and go to "Controls" tab and select your "CKM Oracle" in CKM Selector combo box. Pay attention to the CKM options and change them accordingly to your needs;
    3) Go to "Models" tab and search for your "Dummy_table" model;
    4) Expand "Dummy_table" model and right click "Constraints" -> New Condition
    5) Give it a name, select Type = "Oracle Data Integrator Condition" and then write down a SQL that will indicate which are the valid values that should be loaded to your target table. In your example, it should be something like this (DUM being the model table alias):
    DUM.PRODUCTID NOT IN (SELECT T1.PRODUCTID FROM Dummy_table T1)
This query is telling ODI that only the rows with PRODUCTID that does not exists in the target table are valid. All the rest (in this case all rows that already exists in the target table) should be logged in E$ table.
Please let me know if it worked.
    Thanks.

  • Mail doesn't send to certain e-mail addresses, receiving seems ok

I am using the latest version of the Apple Mail application under Leopard (with all updates downloaded). About a month ago I e-mailed a friend from my home account and unusually didn’t get a reply. I then e-mailed again a few weeks after, again no reply. After a phone conversation found out she didn’t receive either of my mails. This prompted many test e-mails, the outcome of which was the following:
1 - Was able to receive my friend’s e-mails, but if I replied using Apple mail (hitting the reply button), my reply never got back to her.
2 - Was able to send to and receive my friend’s e-mails using MS outlook from my place of work using a PC and my work e-mail account. No problems.
3 - Was able to send and receive to my work account from my home account using Apple Mail, no problems.
4 - Was able to send and receive my friend e-mails from my home account, using web mail rather than using Apple Mail.
5 - Could no longer e-mail my wife using the Apple Mail (and she could not e-mail me), we both use the same ISP. However using web mail rather than Apple Mail we could still send and receive e-mails from each other.
6 - Phoned my ISP, my account seems to be ok, which was also confirmed by using webmail as described in the previous two points.
7 - Other than the regular Apple updates the Mail app is the same client I have been using since I got my new Mac last October. I didn’t appear to have any problems until about a month ago and have made no changes to settings etc.
8 - When I do attempt to send e-mails to my wife or friend, I get the usual whooshing sound and a progress bar to show that the mail has been sent. The outbox is empty and the mail appears in the sent box, but never arrives to its destination. No error messages or e-mail bounce backs, nothing.
9 - Downloaded and installed Thunderbird, all the problems seem to go away – I can now send and receive e-mails from both my wife and friend.
It’s a bit weird that Apple Mail seems to have taken an aversion to sending mail to some particular e-mail addresses. Unless someone can explain what is going on here, I think that this is a serious problem. As I’ve mentioned, there is no hint that Apple Mail is not sending e-mail, as far as I was concerned e-mails were leaving my Mac. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there an easy fix?

I just did a quick test in InDesign CC and my one worked. Maybe you should delete the button and redo it.
By the way on a slightly different matter, do you know that to enable users to complete the form and store it on their computer using Acrobat Reader, you need to enable the form as follows:
Open the form in Acrobat XI  and then:
File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes for fill-in & save). . . Your users will be able to fill in the form and save it (assuming they have the later versions of Acrobat Reader).
Make sure you keep a copy of your original PDF with a different file name as once you've created a Reader Enabled PDF Form you can't change it.

  • Now Mail Won't Send eMail (self imposed password)

Apple's Mail has a known bug that it deletes your mail passwords sporadically. Now Mail has not only refused to pick up email while deleting the password, but has "deleted" the non existent password to send email.
Before when Mail deleted the password I could put it in again (and again) until it caught and worked again. But there is no outgoing email password, the server does not require one. If I put it a password it doesn't work because it can't. Does anyone have experience with this problem. It did this the first time last week and it went away after a few hours. But I do need to send email for my business.
Is there anything to do other than wait for it to go away again?
Anyone care to recommend a commercial email program to replace Mail? I have a few thousand emails in a few dozen folders that I would like to import. Is there any?
History, read this before asking any questions.
Mail has for years sporadically deleted incoming pop account passwords. They are deleted in Mail. The copy of the password in Keychain is still there, but Mail will fail to pick up your mail and ignore Keychain. This has been posted many times in this forum. The problem occurs randomly and goes away after awhile, but will return. If one has several pop accounts on the same server, some, all, or none of the accounts will have this problem at any given time. When the dialog pops up requesting the password the best thing to do is click cancel. Mail takes the account off-line. After awhile click the icon to the right of the "inbox" and click the button "Take all accounts online." It will usually work again. Sometimes it will not work. Delete the Keychain entry and put in (the same) password the next time the dialog comes up, check the "save in keychain" box and click okay. Usually it will take in then. Not sure why, but if you put the password in the first time the dialog appears, it almost always fails. some users have surmised that Mail sees any delay in the mail server response as a failed password and this problem is more frequent with webmail accounts than email accounts.
After ten years of OS X Mail use, and a year of off and on receiving problems, I have only this week started to have problems sending email. I have checked with my provider and there is nothing wrong with their servers and they have not suddenly changed the required Mail setup.

The last READ from the server does not contain any error that I can see, but I don't know what one would look like. At this point the dialog is up requesting a password.

Apple's Mail has a known bug that it deletes your mail passwords sporadically.
Sounds awfully definitive. Has Apple verified this for you?
I will, from time to time, be prompted for a password. I cancel and try again five minutes later. 90% of the time, it works fine the second time. The other 10% of the time, I have to wait for an indeterminate amount of time, sometimes several hours. This indicates, to me, that there was a problem contacting the server. I used to see similar behavior with Eudora years ago before I switched to Mail.
I never have to actually re-enter the password. At no time have my passwords been deleted.
None of this answers your questions, but hey... you come on here and cry "bug" and you're going to get challenged if others aren't seeing a bug.

can any one help me to know How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?
    Thanks in advance
    Gowthami

    Hi jfosteroracle,
You are getting the error may be the following reason,
    Check the following,
Login as ADMIN and Goto -->Manage Instance-->Instance Settings--> Mail-->Maximum Emails per workspace
Actually this number denotes the Number of mails can be sent per 24 hour for the workspace,It may exceeded.
    It may be the reason.
    Thank you.

  • Mail can't send email from 123-reg accounts

    Hi all,
I've got an issue with Mac Mail can’t send email from 123-reg accounts.
I know there is a lot of articles on simular matters and some I have tried out with no luck, others are just speaking a whole other language.
Any help would be greatly recived, here's my situation below:
    Running a iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 on OS X 10.8.3
I’m using 3 accounts on Macs Mail client, one is my iCloud account that is working fine and the other two are my 123-reg accounts that I use for business purposes. I’ve been working like this for a couple of years now and about 6 months ago I upgrade my operating system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
2 or 3 months ago I randomly got a problem where I was unable to send any emails from my 123-reg account, I could only receive emails. I checked my settings and they were all correct and unchanged so I attempted to delete them and recreate the account but with no such luck.
I then decided to check if it was a problem at 123-regs end and attempted to log into web mail. This worked and was able to both send and receive emails so eliminated that possibility.
I also have these accounts set up on my iPhone, so checked if there was any issues and everything was working fine. I then checked my iphone details and made sure the same was on my desktop and still no such luck.
I’ve tried out some of the articles I’ve found on here (the ones written in plain English) still no results. I’m not very IT illiterate and just wondered if anyone else has got any ideas, whether there is something specific with 123-reg accounts and Mac Mail?
    Many thanks.

    Thanks
I just had another hunt around looking at posts and discovered that it was because I recently changed to BT Infinity and they had a block on.
I didn't even think to question the ISP.

  • My e-mails are not sending. "connection to SMTP server timed out." How do I get this working?

As of yesterday, I am receiving e-mails fine; however, unable to send. Everytime I try to send an e-mail, I get "Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server (my mail address) timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.
I received help from lunarpages (they host my domain); however, they were unable to resolve the issue. They suggested something is blocking IP, or need to update Thunderbird, or there's a firewall there...
    Help!!!
My clients are waiting for responses to e-mails!
    Thank you.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
*Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

  • Mail stuck "cannot send using server"....

but the real issue is that the list of addressees is so long that I cannot see the buttons at the bottom, so I cannot click them to dismiss the error and try something else. Only way out of Mail is to force quit (menus are unresponsive) and if I relaunch Mail the email comes up again after a short time with the same error and again no way to dismiss it.
Once I get back to Mail without the error I'll be able to send using the correct SMTP server, but I can't get past this point.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Mac OS X 10.5.8, iMac Core Duo

hey, i think i know the problem.
i use my mail sometimes to send to long lists of emails for my company.  (better solution is use a mailing list service like constant contact or mail chimp if you do this on a regular basis).
anyway, some smtp's limit the number of people you can send to at a time.  i don't know what this number is, and i notice that it's different depending on which server i'm using (like hotmail i think let's me send to more)
in any case, the best thing to do is copy the whole list of addressee's to text edit or whatever, and break it up into smaller batches so that you are not sending to more than 50-100 people at a time (you have to experiment).
it's annoying that it doesn't tell you what the problem is, but it happened to me before and this was the solution.
let me know if this was your problem or not.

  • Iphone mail app not receiving e-mail from 1 sender

The Mail app on my iPhone 6/iOS 8.3 is not receiving e-mail from one sender sent to my Outlook e-mail account. This sender's e-mail address is "[email protected]". It is a notification of digital magazines available from Zinio. I know the mail app is not receiving the e-mail because Outlook 2013 on my desktop and Outlook.com do receive these e-mails. How can I get the mail app on my iPhone to receive these e-mails from this address?

Initially it sounds like something with your backup data caused the issue with your new device but if you restored your device again without using the backup and the issue still exists it wouldn't appear to be the issue at all. Since the problem seems to only be with one person are you sure it's not an issue on their end and with their network that is stopping you from receiving the messages? Have you tried *228 option 2 to see if that helps?

  • When I access my google e-mail account on the I-pad my inbox has at least 6 e-mails with no sender and no subject (absent via I-phone, Mac or PC) I cannot delete them as they cannot be selected- how do I stop them and clear the ones there now?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    Sorry for the delay...
I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.
    Thanks for the help, anyway!!

  • Does "Adobe Send" memorize the e-mail addresses I send to repeatedly, as "Send Now" did?

In Adobe "Send Now", it was much easier to send a personalized link to multiple e-mail addresses.  Plus, once I used and e-mail address, it memorized it.  I am a university professor at a school where we use the Exchange type of account.  How can I associate my Adobe Send e-mail field with my Outlook Exchange account?  Then, once I type in one personalized address, neither the return key or the space bar, start a new address field in the way which Adobe Send Now did.  Adobe Send Now did everything above except associate with my Outlook Exchange account o the University.

    Hi saxoteacher,
Yes in Adobe Send you can send a personalized link to multiple e-mail addresses. The e-mail addresses will not be memorized but will be saved in sent items.
Our engineering team is working on integrating Adobe Send plug-in with outlook exchange. To distinguish between the email addresses you need to type the semicolon.
