ODI updates all rows even when no change exists

We use database triggers to update the created_by, creation_date, last_updated_by, last_updated_date columns on the records. From looking at these columns I can tell that ODI is updating every target record with the save values that are already present.
I have tried using Journaling, but that I can't get that working, and I there are cases where I am not going to have the luxury of adding journal columns and triggers to my source database.
Is there a way to have the interface only update records where the values have actually changed?
Thanks,
Kt

In the interface diagram window, you will need to mark the columns created_by, creation_date, last_updated_by, last_updated_date to be executed on "Target".
In addition,
For created_by, creation_date, mark them for "Insert" only.
For last_updated_by, last_updated_date, mark them for "Update" only.
Hope that helps

    I can't update my apps even when I do App Store>purchased> select all...... It don't work for me

    When you tap on All at the top. That shows all of you purchased apps. You still have to manually go through each letter (on the left side) and look through every page of apps in order to find the apps that need an update. It is a pain and its time consuming, but that's how you have to do it.
    Is that what you are doing and it's not working for you?

  • Update all rows in a View Column via one Apex Form field

    Appreciate any helpful answers to this query.
    I have an Apex App (4.x) where I have a view: PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    In the view, I have the following applicable columns:
    COUNTRY
    GRADE
    SALARY
    In the form I have the following fields
    :P16_COUNTRY (DROPDOWN)
    :P16_GRADE (DROPDOWN)
    :P16_SALARY (Number)
    In my app, I have a form with an Update button. I am simply trying to get Apex to update all rows in the salaray column in the view, where the country and grade match.
    I've the following code for the Update button:
    UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    SET SALARY = :P16_SALARY
    WHERE COUNTRY = :P16_COUNTRY
    AND GRADE = :P16_GRADE
    The option I have chosen in condition type is:
    Value of Item / Column expression is NOT Null (as there are values in the column)
    Also tried SQL Expression and it does not like..says that there is No Expression.
    Thanks again if anyone can help :)

    Hi,
    Sorry I realize now that piece of information was not well supported.
    If I choose SQL Expression for Condition Type in my Form Page and I try to Apply Changes
    Apex says this..
    •Failed to parse SQL query!
    ORA-00936: missing expression
    I was assuming that I need to have the colon for the items in the form where I am wanting Apex to grab the values entered by the user. I tried them without the colons with the SQL Expression condition and same result.
    UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    SET SALARY = P16_SALARY
    WHERE COUNTRY = P16_COUNTRY
    AND GRADE = P16_GRADE
    I did put 1-1/0 in my expression field and applied changes and then tried ot submit the form and it does not produce an error, so perhaps it is not being called? Where would I start with troubleshooting that?
    Thanks,

  • Safari allows 3rd party cookies and all cookies even when prefernces are set to "never allow" with Mac os 10.6.8

    safari ALWAYS allows 3rd party cookies and all cookies even when set to "block cookies: always" and "from 3rd party and advertisers."  I have removed the website data, emptied the cache, reset safari, erased the history and it STILL dumps cookies.  (For example, if I go to the usgov weather website only I end up with 11 cookies, the top one being "addthis.com" listed as cashed in local storage.  But didn't I just empty the cache... multiple times??? Is my Safari application "broken" or "corrupt."  Can the application be renewed so that it actually does what it is commanded to do?

    Not using any extensions, Andy.
    Allowed a guest account and tested that.  Lots of cache/cookies showed up for my "guest" that on face value, appeared 3rd party:  the familiar "addthis.com" cache and others including a facebook cache and I did not, nor have ever, participated in facebook. But it could be that the "trusted" site my virtual guest visited had a relationship with facebook such that my COMPUTER "friended" facebook even though my guest and I most certainly would have declined the invitation :-)  But what I really don't get is why washington post cookies keep showing up every single time.  Isn't that the absolute definition of 3rd party cookies?!
    forgive my rant.
    On the other hand, when I logged out as guest, all data was automatically deleted, and when I relogged in as guest, it appeared that all the data, including cached data, had indeed been deleted.  But when I relogged in as myself, the same old garbage reappeared in the cache and cookie bin. The fact is, there appears to be no such thing as truly and completely emptying ones cache, resetting ones browser, or deleting ones cookies. They are here to stay.
    (And, oh yes, I have tried logging out, turning off and on the computer right after performing emptying tasks, etc.)

    My wifi won't turn on at all. Even when I try switching the wifi button to on, it's just grayed out. So it's stuck on off. I need help

    Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

    Hi,
    You were created PO with Qty of 60.Then you have posted confirmation with inbound delivery note of against PO with 60 Qty.
    Even though you have set the unlimited tolerence in the PO, you have Posted the inbound delivery note from vendor it means confirmation of receiving at your plant site. After confirmed the 60 Qty, how system will allow to change the PO qty ? ( That's why system will through the warning message it means that already confirmed quantity at plant site with inbound delivery note).
    Usage of unlimited tolerence set, while receiving stock in MIGO if vendor send excess material you can post in your plant. System will allow to post the excess qty when unlimited set in PO.
    As per the business process once received (Picked and confirmed the qty in VL31N ) it is meaning less to change the qty in POs,
    If you have done changes in POs, you will refer the PO number in MIGO insted of inbound delivery note.
    Thanks,
    Thiru

    Some feedback in SR 3-6322025251 ...
    After some on-going discussions with Product Managers, they don't believe this is expected behavior in the 3 questions (q4), (q5) and (q6).
    I have so created 3 new bugs for Development evaluation as no answer or known issue found.
    I have created a spin-off SR for each question/bug as per our policy we handle only one issue/bug per SR.
    You can follow each question/bug progress in the following SRs :
    - (q4) Is it intended behavior to have updated version columns on rows that have not really been updated (as observed in step (sc2-g) and (sc3-g))?
    SR 3-6838483321: Entity attribute with change Indicator and version history gets updated even if row unmodified in UI
    Bug 16381918 - OBJECT VERSION ATTRIBUTE INCREMENTED EVEN IF ROW UNMODIFIED IN UI
    - (q5) How can the NullPointerException (in step (sc2-h)) be explained/avoided?
    SR 3-6838483348: NPE in oracle.adf.model.binding.DCIteratorBinding.executeQueryIfNeeded
    Bug 16382070 - NPE IN ORACLE.ADF.MODEL.BINDING.DCITERATORBINDING.EXECUTEQUERYIFNEEDED
    - (q6) Why does the message in step (sc3-h) mention 'primary key oracle.jbo.Key[10 ]' while the row that really changed has Deptno 20?
    SR 3-6838483413: Incorrect primary key value from oracle.jbo.RowInconsistentException
    Bug 16382246 - INCORRECT PRIMARY KEY VALUE FROM ORACLE.JBO.ROWINCONSISTENTEXCEPTION
    Each bug has been published in MOS and are pending Development triage and evaluation.

  • I appear online at all times, even when my compute...

    This has been an issue for a while, and after extensive googling I can't find any solution. As the title says, for some reason, even when my computer is off, I am always shown as online in skype. People message me or call me expecting me to speak to them, and get very unhappy when I don't respond until hours later. I've entered the command showing all instances of my account being logged in, and mine is the only one, I've also entered the /remotelogout command, and it does not solve the issue. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
    I'm using windows 7 Ultimate, but I doubt that has much to do with anything.

    To add my two pennies worth to the permanently online discussions....
    I have been a Skype user for many years on desktop & laptop PCs, following it through various Windows versions up to and including Windows 8.1 update 1.
    Up until recently when you quit Skype by right clicking its icon on the right hand status bar (by the
    date & clock), this would take you offline and no-one would then try to contact you. Similarly, when
    you shut down your computer or router, you were marked as offline. All very sensible to my mind,
    since the Skype client was then no longer running.
    Now it seems that no matter what I do, unless I physically change my status to invisible or offline
    in the client before shutting it down, I remain online to my contacts, who then eventually get
    annoyed when they try to contact me.
    Even if all of my devices are switched off - I still show on-line.
    Turn off my router? Makes no difference I am still shown online to my contacts....
    I have searched the internet and the Skype communities for a cure to no avail. Lots of people with
    the the same or similar problems, but no answers that provide a definitive cure that works.
    I have tried unlinking my Skype and Windows accounts - no difference.
    I have tried the /remotelogout command in case I'm online with more than one Skype client - not
    likely since all the other devices it runs on are switched off. Understandably, made no difference to
    the problem.
    /showplaces confirmed that only one client signed in.
    I have tried most of the suggested cures in the various forums to no avail.
    The only thing that seems to give a half a-----d answer so far is to leave all clients as invisible until I want to receive calls. Then of course I've got to remember to mark myself as online, and to switch back to invisible before quitting Skype or turning off the device.....
    Modern technology is such a wonderful time-saving thing....
    Mike.

  • Check Box for each row in report -- all rows deleting when pressing DELETE

    Hello experts! I have set up a report with a check box for each row. When I click the DELETE button to delete the selected rows, every single one of the rows get deleted...even the ones that are not selected. I have my process point set to "On Submit - After computations and validations".
    This is my delete process (SHG is the table and SHG_ID is the primary key):
    FOR i in 1..HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01.count
    LOOP
    DELETE FROM SHG
    WHERE SHG_ID = HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i);
    END LOOP;
    Also, I've added to query in the region source this line:
    htmldb_item.checkbox(1, SHG_ID) del,
    Where does the "1" come into this? Not sure what I am doing wrong!

    The 1 (first argument to all the htmldb_item.* APIs) corresponds to the array number in htmldb_application.g_fNN. So 1 will populate array g_f01, 2 will populate g_f02 and so on.
    Your code seems fine, it should delete only the checked rows. Are you sure there is no other process on the page that might be deleting the rows? See if you can put up an example on htmldb.oracle.com

  • My program always displays the same image, even when I change th image file

    I'm making a program that chooses an image file from a dialog, resize it and copy it into a folder. When the image is needed to be displayed, the image file is read and a JLabel displays it on screen.
    When I upload the first image, everything works fine. The problem appears when I upload another picture: the displayed image is still the first image, even when the old file doesn't exist anymore (because it has been overwritten). It looks like the image has been "cached", and no more image are loaded after the first one.
    This function takes the image picture chosen by the user, resizes it, and copy it into the pictures folder:
        private void changeProfilePicture() {
            JFileChooser jFileChooser = new JFileChooser();
            jFileChooser.setMultiSelectionEnabled(false);
            jFileChooser.setFileFilter(new ImageFileFilter());
            int result = jFileChooser.showOpenDialog(sdbFrame);
            if (JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION == result) {
                try {
                    //upload picture
                    File file = jFileChooser.getSelectedFile();
                    InputStream is = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(file));
                    //resize image and save
                    BufferedImage image = ImageIO.read(is);
                    BufferedImage resizedImage = resizeImage(image, 96, 96);
                    String newFileName = sdbDisplayPanel.getId() + ".png";
                    String picFolderLocation = db.getDatabaseLocation() + "/" +
                            PROFILE_PICTURE_FOLDER;
                    java.io.File dbPicFolder = new File(picFolderLocation);
                    if(!dbPicFolder.exists())  {
                        dbPicFolder.mkdir();
                    String newFilePath = picFolderLocation + "/" + newFileName;
                    File newFile = new File(newFilePath);
                    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream (newFilePath);
                    DataOutputStream dos = new DataOutputStream (fos);
                    ImageIO.write(resizedImage, "png", dos);
                    dos.close();
                    fos.close();
                    //set picture
                    sdbDisplayPanel.setImagePath(newFilePath);
                } catch (IOException ex) {
                    System.err.println("Could'nt print picture");
                }This other class actually displays the image file in a JLabel:
        public void setImagePath(String imagePath) {
            count++;
            speaker.setImagePath(imagePath);
            this.imagePath = imagePath;
            if(imagePath != null)   {
                //use uploaded picture
                try {
                    File tempFile = new File(imagePath);
                    System.out.println(tempFile.length());
                    java.net.URL imgURL = tempFile.toURI().toURL();
                    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(imgURL);
                    pictureLbl.setIcon(icon);
                    // Read from a file
                } catch (IOException ex) {
                    Logger.getLogger(SDBEventClass.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
            else    {
                //use default picture
                URL imgURL = this.getClass().getResource("/edu/usal/dia/adilo/images/noProfile.jpg");
                ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(imgURL, "Profile picture");
                pictureLbl.setIcon(icon);
        }

    When you flush() the image, you don't need to construct a new ImageIcon each time, a simple repaint() will suffice.
    Run this example after changing the URL to an image you can edit and update while the program is running.import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.Image;
    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
    import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
    import java.net.MalformedURLException;
    import java.net.URL;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class FlushImage {
       Image image;
       JLabel label;
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
             @Override
             public void run() {
                new FlushImage().makeUI();
       public void makeUI() {
          try {
             ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(new URL("file:///e:/java/dot.png"));
             image = icon.getImage();
             label = new JLabel(icon);
             JButton button = new JButton("Click");
             button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                   image.flush();
                   label.repaint();
             JFrame frame = new JFrame("");
             frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
             frame.add(label, BorderLayout.NORTH);
             frame.add(button, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
             frame.pack();
             frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
             frame.setVisible(true);
          } catch (MalformedURLException ex) {
             ex.printStackTrace();

  • Problem to update 16 rows, it updates all rows in table

    I tried to update 16 rows with AL as divion name with the script as below:
    Update wire_center a set a.wg_id='63'
    where EXISTS (select b.div_name from wire_center a, division b, district c, ns_workgroups d
    where B.DIV_NAME='AL' AND a.dis_id=c.dis_id and b.div_id=c.div_id and d.wg_id=a.wg_id );
    When I run it, it updates all the rows in the table.
    However when I run the select subquery, it returns 16 rows.
    It seems where EXISTS is the problem. if I take exists out, it gave me ora-00936 error.
    How to fix it? Please need urgent help. db is 10g.
    Thanks in advance.

    If I understand correctly what you want, you should not include wire_center again in the second select (in your exists clause).
    The second select has no relation to the table you are updating, so because the second select returns 16 rows, the exists will always be true. For every row. So every row will be updated.
    Instead of
    Update wire_center a set a.wg_id='63'
    where EXISTS (select b.div_name from wire_center a, division b, district c, ns_workgroups d
    where B.DIV_NAME='AL' AND a.dis_id=c.dis_id and b.div_id=c.div_id and d.wg_id=a.wg_id );try this:
    Update wire_center a set a.wg_id='63'
    where EXISTS (select b.div_name from division b, district c, ns_workgroups d
    where B.DIV_NAME='AL' AND a.dis_id=c.dis_id and b.div_id=c.div_id and d.wg_id=a.wg_id );Edited by: theoa on 29-dec-2010 14:27
