OEL 6 install - invalid credentials when logging in through web client

I've installed 11g XE on Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.1, seems to be running fine and listener is up. I can successfully log into SQLPlus using sys as sysdba via oracle user, but when I try to run APEX or QuickStart or RCU using the same credentials, I get "invalid credentials". I'm trying to get full FMW install and obviously need RCU to build schemas, so I'm stuck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello,
FMW does indeed install and run on top of XE as long as you set character set and parameters appropriatelyWhere do you adjust that charset? It should be FMW, not XE...
I can't get into APEX for example as SYSWhat do you mean with "APEX" in that context? The APEX Administration would have "ADMIN" as default account, using the same password you assigned in the installation wizard.
If you refer to the "Get Started"-URL (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950), this is an XE-specific APEX application that doesn't use APEX authentication, but database user authentication instead. For this application, your SYS password should work, as it's actually exactly the same authentication you get for your command line.
Perhaps it would help to know which URL you are calling and which value you enter for username. Note that "SYS AS SYSDBA" would not be a valid username (because it includes the role), whereas just "SYS" is okay.
The one thing RCU, APEX, etc. have in common is that they're web clients.XE uses the so called "Embedded PL/SQL Gateway" hosted by the database internal XDB HTTP Server by default. Though a web server, it's not a real client to the database, as it doesn't connect external. The only external part is the HTTP communication, but this seems to work fine since you didn't report that you don't get the login screen for APEX...

  • Error when logging into IC Web Client  - CRM 5.0

    Hi All
I have configured the IC Web client including the communication management software information . I am trying to use CCS.
I get the following error messages when I logon to Web Client.
1.Already logged in; multichannel services ended in your other sessions
    2.X channel is not available
3.Failed to log into the queue X
also I am getting the Java script error on the IE 6.0.
    SAM_session not defined etc.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sai,
Kindly make sure that you have JREE1.4.0 and  not above for  your  error.
Secondly, you are getting the first message because when you are closing your application by clicking onto the close at top, it doesnt log out your agent from the Webclient. The correct approach would be to close using the path Menu Bar> File> Close
The channels are not  available because you have not maintained the queues and channels for your system. The same is do be done in SAP Easy Acess> Webclient> Additional Settings. It is also available in the Best Practices C78.
The link for the same is
    http://help.sap.com/bp_crmv250/CRM_DE/index.htm
    Hope this would help.

  • Some apps revert to english when logged-in through qingy

    Hi,
I have all the programs I normally use configured in spanish. Yesterday I started testing some login managers to replace kdm, which is the one I've been using so far. I found qingy and after some checks I think I will continue using it. But if I use it instead of kdm, some apps (firefox, claws-mail, oppenoffice, thunar...) start in english. It seems that only the gtk apps have this strange bahaviour, because konqueror or amsn still appear in spanish.
This happens only if I use the openbox menu, if I start an xterm terminal and launch the apps from the command line, they appear in spanish.
Also, I don't know if this is the cause of the problem, I have one defunct X process:

  • SSGD 4.40.907 and SLES10-SP1 64bit - Invalid credentials while logging in

    Hello everybody.
As a test, I installed SSGD 4.40.907 on a SLES10-SP1 64bit virtual operating system (it's operating using the XEN hypervisor, paravirtualized mode).
The installation went well (I had to copy old libraries - namely, libexpat.so.0.5.0 and libgdbm.so.2.0.0 - from a previous version of SLES + ldconfig) and I was able to get to the login prompt but as soon as I entered the "root" password I got "Invalid credentials".
I tried again (in my test environment, the root password is VERY simple) but no dice; I checked the root password by logging into the system using SSH and it worked fine.
I tried with different local accounts (eg, ttaserv and ttasys) but got the same message.
Please notice that, under the very same piece of HW but using a SLES10-SP1 *32bit* under XEN, everything works as expected so it seems a 64bit OS related issue.
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Casper,
Can you please try the following.
On the protected server please try to remove the account and remove the DPM agent. Reboot, after that please manually reinstall the DPM agent on the protected server -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh757789.aspx.  Run the setdpmserver command and after completing successfully check the account to ensure the following.
    1) It is set for the password not to expire and user cannot change password
    2) Is included in the following groups, DCOM Distributed Users, DPMRADCOMTrustedMachines, and DPMRADmTrustedMachines.
If that all checks out, please goto the DPM console and tried to attach from the DPM console first and then try the powershell command if the console errors out.
Here are some other things to check as well:
Step 1) Ensure NTLM is working - UNC from DPM to PS and back
Step 2) Ensure DCOM is enabled on protected server - Type DCOMCNFG > Computers > My Computer, right click and select properties, go to Default Properties and ensure "Enable Distributed COM on this computer" is checked
Step 3) Ensure all firewalls have needed ports open -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh758204.aspx
Step 4) Ensure user account is set to never expire and user cannot change password
Step 5) Try attach from DPM console first then DPM powershell
If that still does not work please ensure you are on the latest DPM patch and try again.
For DPM2012 SP1 that is DPM3.6(Note: you will need to have RU3 installed prior)

  • Invalid Credentials when trying to login to iPrint iOS App

I've recently setup a fresh install of the iPrint Appliance 1.1 and installed all security patches.
Original setup was iPrint appliance was SSL but syncing to our edirectory server was not, and I was unable to login with the iOS app. This was in Evaluation mode so I am unsure if the password being encrypted over SSL from the appliance then trying to match on the eDir server not on ssl caused that issue.
However I then installed our license, and configured LDAP sync to be over SSL, but I am still gettin the same "Invalid Credentials" message. That being said, our current license only entitles us to the appliance and iprint desktop, not iPrint Mobile whereas when in evaluation mode you have access to iPrint Mobile.
My question here is, should I be expecting it to say "Invalid Credentials" even though I do not have any iPrint Mobile licenses, or should there be a different message or result?
    Thanks!

  • When logging onto a web site with a log on name firefox is changing logon name from Kostas to kostas as the site is case sensitive it is not acceptable. how do I correct this? Thanks

I registered with a web site and used the name Kostas as the log on name. Entered a question and recieved replies
When I later tried to log onto the web site to say thankyou ,and enter Kostas in the log on box a reminder appears created by Firefox of kostas, I ignore this, move to the password box and firefox changes the log on name to kostas with small k. The register is case sensitive so for quite a while I could not understand what was going wrong? I eventually managed to log on by using a rival system
My previous experience is that if you use a different log on name it is recorded and then you choose the correct one to use? But in this case I am given no choice
How can I correct this please
    Probably no connection but
I registerd with another site and recieved an e-mail in which I had to click on web address to confirm registration and came up with an error message, tried a few times and same thing happened?? The webmaster of this site had no record of my registration details?
Finally I had a phone call from a company called NERD-I.com
offering to solve various computor problems at a fee. I did not take up their offer, but hope they do not have anything to do with my current problems??
    Many thanks

    Hi Corel
    Thank you for your reply
However I need the lower case version for some sites and the upper case version for the site in question? To make matters worse this site does not allow you to change your log on name unless it is in the form of an e-mail address
So what I need is Kostas for this site and kostas saved for other sites and allow me to choose which one I want to use
How do I do this please
I have no bother with this on Win Internet Explorer but I like Firefox
Mind it may be as simple as deleting The appropriate entry and resetting with Kostas instead of kostas?
But I would appreciate knowing the correct solution from an expert

  • Systemd access to /dev when logged in through ssh

I have user "X" logged in through SLIM and proper permissions to /dev devices are granted. When I log in as the same user "X" through SSH, I can't access /dev devices.
This prevents me from running emulators and sound applications through SSH, which is a PITA since the machine in question is a HTPC dedicated to running XBMC.
Any way to grant same permissions to SSH users as X sessions?
Last edited by arokh (2013-07-24 09:18:47)

I've been doing some digging on this, apparently display managers make sure the logged in session gets a "seat" from systemd. As long as you have a logged in X session, SSH sessions will also inherit the permissions from that seat.

from prompting the user for username and password?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

    Hi Shabeaut,
Please add SharePoint URL in your IE trusted sites zone, and select the option "Automatic logon with current user name and password" for User Authentication->Logon, then check if it still prompts the credential window.

  • Third party application forcing java stack to restart when logged in through SSO

    Hi
We have APW Third party application installed on Enterprise portal  7.4.
When we tried to login APW portal through SSO it forces Java stack services to restart. If we use APW directly without SSO it works fine.
Can you help me tto resolve the issue.

    Hi Manish,
Please check  the configuration once agian about the third party connection  and  the portal.
Also provide the "dev_server0" which under in directory /usr/sap/SID/J00/work and default trace which under in “/usr/sap/SID/J00/j2ee/cluster/server0/log" to analyze the issue. There is some other tool as well to check the issue using "httpwatch" log tool. But, mostly issue can be identified in dev_server0 or defalut trace".
    Thanks,
    Brindavan

  • The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted when logging in through RDP. Server 2012/SBS 2007

I have a server 2012 machine running RDP and a PDC running SBS 2007. Every once a while all my users get an error saying "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted". After waiting ~5-10 minutes the issue resolves itself.
I believe it has something to do with the syncing between the two but am not 100% sure. Anyone know a fix or what I should look at?

    Hi Jerry,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
After referring to your error, it seems to have DNS issue in your case which can’t locate the DC. Please check the setting related to DNS issue as following. (Below quoted from
    this thread)
If this is the case, I would recommend proceeding like that:
    1. Make sure that each DC has only one IP address in use and ONLY one NIC card enabled (Other NICs should be disabled)
    2. Make sure that public DNS servers are configured as DNS forwarders and not in IP settings of DCs
    3. Choose a healthy DC / DNS server and make each DC point to it as primary DNS server
    4. Make each DC / DNS server point to its private IP address as secondary DNS server
    5. Make sure that needed ports for AD replication are opened: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727063.aspx
    6. Check your DNS zones and remove manually all obsolete / unused DNS records for DCs
Once done, run ipconfig /registerdns and restart netlogon on each DC you have.
On the client computer, run ipconfig /flushdns and check again.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.
