% of calculation in GRAND TOTAL in PIVOT TABLE

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to calculate the percentage based on the grand total in pivot table, but in row wise i am getting the percentage while in grand total level i am not getting correct values.I have tried with all the options like:average,Sum,Default,Max,Min,count etc and also with the percent of row, column, parent column etc.
Please give me a solution for this ASAP.
view of my table is
Previous Value||Present Value||change between Pres & Prev||% of change(((pres - prev)/pres)*100)
10||20||10||50%
00||01||01||100%
10||05||-05||-50%
here i should get values in grand total like
20||26||06||23%
but i am getting values when giving sum for %of calc in measures values
20||26||06||100%
if i give avg for %of calc in measures values then i am geting
20||26||06||33%
how to solve this prob. Can any one give sol plzzzzzzzz
Thanks,
Naveen

  • Navigation of Grand total in pivot table

I’m currently working in report development Oracle BI wherein I need to develop a report using pivot table. I need to do summation at both row and column level and when clicked on the Grand Total level it should display entire resultset. According to the data clicked the filter condition is passed on to next level of report, but it displays no results at total level as the filter is passed as the same name ‘Grand Total’(column heading) instead of the actual values.
Any pointers on this would be helpful to us.

i am experiencing the same proble.I hope you are creating calculated item and you are clciking on measure value corresponding to calculated item.In that case it will pass calculated item name to child report .Correct me if i am wrong.
I think it is not possible in that case to pass correct filters.Wait for others comments.

  • Grand Total in Pivot Table

Hi, I have a pivot table with several measures and grand totals. The problem is that there is one measure where the totals show up incorrectly. By incorrectly I mean that this shouldn't be sum of rows, but a different calculation and I haven't found a way to define separate calculation for this total.
Is there a way to hide totals for this one measure? Or is it still somehow possible to use some different value/calculation in there?

In the Pivot Table I'm currently using sum, because I'm combining different queries with union. In the actual query these values are calculated by row using Count Distinct. Now in the total it just sums up individual Count Distinct values but the correct value should be Count Distinct for total data set.

  • Grand total in Pivot Tables with Paging

I could help with this issue please
when we apply paging PivotTables there a way to show Grand total all pages, and I've noticed that the Grand total vee only when the last page or show all results at once.
For me it is important to see the Grand total on every page.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation

If you're not talking about printing, then you can do this:
    1) Instead of using the same pivot table that you created for details to also display the Grand Total, first paginate the pivot table. Look here:
    Re: Pivot table
In your pagination, break your pivot table in groups such that you can see a small enough chunk without having to scroll too much.
    2) Now that you have a manageable size pivot table, create the Grand Total as another pivot table. Take out all the attributes that break the total in detail and leave only what will give you the Grand Total.
    3) Add this pivot table to the bottom of your detail pivot table in step 1. This will give you the grand total right underneath each page of your detail pivot table without having to go all the way to the end of the report.

let say u have DEV/UAT servers the application installed with some other users (admin group user or power user) while u r accessing and doing devalopment better to use outside browers .
Note: i have also faced same issues (IE8 browser security level permission in win 2008 server).solution u can just try to access the url from outside server.

  • Total of grand total in pivot

    Hello Guys,
    I have a situation...
I am using Pivot View for a report (the reason being...I need the data by month in sections....)...
I need total for each section so I used the Sum button of Rows for grand total of each section (again the reason being....if I used Sum of Sections...it will display another section as 'All sections' which is nothing but all the entries clubbed into one table.....which is not desirable in my case)..
So, I almost have what I want..the only thing I would require is the Grand total of all the Grand totals at the bottom....
Can anyone help me please.....I tried many ways...but couldn't get it.....

    Thanks friend....I got it...
only problem I faced while fixing this was...The grand total formatting...I had to customize it as I didnt find a way to hide the measure grand total...
what I mean is....after hiding the details,etc...I was left with only one row..which is the calculated column 'Grand Total',....but it was just as any other row...(i.e.,) without any formatting...default background and font...
but when I clicked on 'Sum' for the 'Row'.....it showed me the actual Grand Total which means ...with formatting...but then....there were 2 rows now.....so I removed the 'Sum' and manually did the formatting to match with the other Grand Totals.....this was a workaround....let me know if there is any better solution...
    Thanks anyways for the solution....

  • Remove the word "Total" in Row Totals in Pivot Tables

    Hi,
Is it possible to remove the word "Total" that appears in Row Totals in Pivot Tables?
Eg. If there are 2 Dimension Columns -- Year and Month .... and if we do row totals on Year
The total appears as *'2008 Total'* or *'2009 Total'* etc. i.e. Each of the Values is followed by the word 'Total'.
However, i would like the totals to display only the values '2008' or '2009' without the word 'Total'.
Is this possible in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 ?
    Thanks,
    Ab

    Hi ,
Goto Total -> Format label and type in @.This will remove the word"Total". I have tested this in 10g, try this and let me know if it works in 11g.

Set the aggregation for the metrics.. Either in RPD or in report.
In report, Open fx of column and you will aggregation drop down at bottom of pop up window. Set that to proper aggregation, and try grand totals.

    hi,
we too got the same request from the client.
we create another pivot table with same fields and displayed only the grand total column to the view and added that to the down of existing pivot table (separate pivote view) in the compound layout. it is another pivot view that shows the grand total...here in your case
    SUM (Base - Atipicos) 50.085.520,24 56.432.759,16 59.605.568,31:
    try in this way...
in my sense i didnt find another solution...if you find workaround then plz explain me aswell.
    i hope its helps you...
    Thanks,

  • Calculating an average in a Pivot Table column

    Hello everyone,
    I have a Pivot Table..
    One Measure only
    In Rows:
I have 3 fields: FieldA, FieldB, FieldC
    In Columns:
    I have 1 field: Field D
From field D, I have created 5 calculated items (to single out the column values) and a Total calculated item column to sum the 5 calculated items.
I have also enabled the Column Grand Total.
Now, I want to create another calculated item (I think?) to calculated the (Total calculated item column) / (Column Grand Total)
I tried creating a calculated item by doing the following (Total calculated item column) / sum(*), but this does not output anything.

  • Grand total in Pivot view in OBIEE

    Hi
I have a requirement to show a particulra report in a pivot view whereby I have to keep the yearly values in the "ROWS" portion and the monthly capex values in the "Measures" portion.
The problem is when I am using the grand total functionality, the grand total is coming only for the monthly values which have kept in the "Measures" and not for the yearly capex values in Rows portion even though the aggregation rule is set as "sum".
I have to show the grand total for the yealy capex value as well.

    Raghu
I tried that option but nothing is coming out.
the requirement is as such : Pivot Table
    Year - 2009
    -----------Rows -------------------- ----Measure----
Capex id Act Amt. Jan feb Mar
    1-5d 500 50 60 70
    1-6d 600 50 50 50
    Total -------------------<>-----------100 110 120
I want the Total for Act Amt. as well but its not coming

  • Percentage calculation at Grand Total Level

    Hello,
I have issue in calculating the percentage at grand total level. I have three measures (A count, B count and Total count). These measures are defined in rpd with aggregation rule as sum. In answers i am calculating A % as 100*A count/Total Count. I have defined the aggregation rule for this percentage column as default. I am able to get correct % results for sub total level but getting wrong percentage values when Grand Total level is added. Going through some posts in this forum, people have suggested to enable this tag in instance config file.
    <ReportAggregateEnabled>true</ReportAggregateEnabled>
After adding this tag, i am able to get correct results. The issue is when there is no data i am able to see table view with all columns having blank values even though i have defined the no result view.
    Please Help

    HI,
For your CKF set exception aggregation as summation based on the last most characteristic in the row in the reference(as per the example it is product)

  • Total in Pivot Table

    Hi,
I have built a pivot table where due to the large number of resort, I created an extra column and
    put the following formula
    CASE WHEN RCOUNT(1)<16 THEN '1-15' WHEN RCOUNT(1) <31 THEN '16-30' WHEN RCOUNT(1)<46 THEN '31-45' WHEN RCOUNT(1)<61 THEN '46-60' ELSE '61+' END
The table groups number of nights by certain channel (OWS, ADS, GDS) and sub- channel
    Row 1-15
    OWS WEB1 3
    WEB2 5
    TOTAL OWS *8*
    GDS 1A 6
    UA 3
    TOTAL GDS *9*
Basically is calculating the total on each page, instead the total of all OWS from all the pages in the last page.
I tried to place the total on section, page, measure level etc.. but I do not get what I want.
    Any idea?
    Regards
    Giuliano

You have the "channel" column in the Rows section, yes? Then click on the "sigma sign" on the channels column. It will give you totals by channels which looks like what you want.

  • Calculation on two columns in pivot table

    Hello all,
    I have a view:
    Dept Year Amount
    Accounting $500 2010
    Accounting $700 2011
    Engineering $100 2010
    Engineering $600 2011
    and etc
pivot table:(data displayed side by side)
    Dept: 2010 2011
    Accounting $500 $700
    Engineering $100 $600
Is there a way in pivot table to create additional column and do a calculation on that column? New column called 'Change' (actual calculation amount of 2010 minus amount of 2011 per each department). I see the feature which allows to duplicate the columns in pivot table. But this is it... no additional calculations.
    Thank you in advance,
    Sonya

    Deepak,
My "YEAR_NO' is already in the column area. Once I created 'calculated column' and entered formula '2011'-'2010' I got what I needed.
Thank you very much for the solution.
    Sonya
In my view I also have column called EXPENSE. When, I added the 'calculated column' to 'YEAR_NO' with formula '2011'-'2010'. It created two calculated columns 1) after the EXPENSES and the other one after YEAR_NO. Is there a way to be specify to display the DIFFERENCE only once after the YEAR_NO??
