Offer: Move Screenpops to External Browser in CAD!!

Hello,
As many of you may know I write software from time to time.  I have long had a request and seen it on these boards.
"How can we move our screenpop integration outside CAD to a browser window?"
Very logical, it indeed it pretty rough on the screen realestate, as well as utilizing multiple monitors.  Anyways please find attached the 3rd iteration of my screen pop utility.  This will allows use the default instance of the browser of your DEFAULT browser.  supports chrome, firefox and IE.  Windows XP, Vista and 7.
1.) its written in VS 2008 so you need need .NET 3.5 installed on all the agent PC's.
2.) Put the exe and config file in a directory on all the agents PC's.
3.) in the configuration file you will see 2 configurations.
<
add key="DefaultURL" value="https://www.google.com"/><
add key="ParamURLBase" value="https://www.google.com/search"/>
Default URL - This should be your login url for your CRM.  https://exampecrm.com/login
ParamURL - This is specifically for outbound screenpops.  Where we need to pass Parameters instead of full URL to the plugin.
4.) You can configure a button in CAD for login by assigning the Launch External Application and pointing to the exe with NO parameters.  This will launch the default URL.  this will launch the default instance with the login screen so the CRM remains logged in
5.) For an inbound screen pop you should for the FULL URL in an ECC variable in the ICM script.  Pass this ECC to CAD and on Answer pass this ECC variable in as the only argument to the EXE...                        "C:\Stuff\ExternalPop.exe" ECCURL  in CAD Desktop Administrator
6.) For outbound screenpops set ParamURLBase to the base of you pop...  http://www.google.com/search
For argument 1 pass in the word "params"..  each argument after that will be treated as a variable pair for the URL... ie.  search=test
In CAD configuring this under a button..    "C:\Stuff\ExternalPop.exe" "params" "stuff=test1" "tool=awesome" will produce a URL of
http://www.google.com/search?stuff=test1&tool=awesome
This should allow you all to move your screenpops of all types outside of the CAD integrated browser giving your clients a greater experience.  If you or any of your clients have custom tools or integrations please contact me at [email protected] for guidance.  Feedback is much appreciated!
Chad Stachowicz

Hey guys,
I am releasing version 1.0.0.8 tonight.
This version has true support for outbound, inbound and any url combination possible.
There is three ways to use it.
1.)  With a button and Cad, if you call the exe with Launch External Application, and no paramaters it will launch the DefaultURL in the config file.  Good for having your agent login screen
2.) If you call the exe with a single parameter, it expected this is a URL and will screenpop the URL you want.  Good for normal screenpops
3.) Anything more then 1 parameter and the exe is expecting the first parameter to be the URL you want to pop from the config file.  For example in the config file See      OutboundURL.  Paramteres 2 - x fill in the %'s in the config file URLs.  This is necessary for using this with CAD outbound option.  I have implemented this at a customer and its working good, but takes a decent amount of configuration in the workflow.
Cheers,
Chad

  • Remove "display in external browser" button

Hello, I'm working on setting up OHJ for my company and I was wondering if there is any way to remove the "display in external browser" button from the viewer window.
We would use the help class instead since it doesn't have this button, but we need the ability to link to pdf's and that only seems available in viewer. Also I want to remove the button because we store our help files in jar's and for some reason the "display in external browser" only works with help files that are not in jar's.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, there's a problem with the combination of 6.7.1 and Java 7 javadocs. Java 6 docs work for me. I posted to the NB Users forum a week ago, but no response. Here's the post. Add to it and bump it, maybe someone has more info.

  • Viewing javadoc in external browser (NetBeans)

OK, so i know this question is awfully specific, but I haven't been able to google myself out of it.
I've downloaded and installed NetBeans v. 6.7.1 on Windows 7. When i ctrl + space identifiers and the javadoc popup appears, the button for browsing the javadoc in an external browser (in my case, Firefox) is dimmed. My solution to this problem used to be to go Tools -> Java Platforms, and just add the javadocs zip-file under the Javadoc tab of the JDK. Does not work here!
    Any help appreciated...

  • Create a link to movies stores on external hard drive for itunes

I seem to have an issue with creating a link to movies stored on my external top be played on itunes. Im NOT trying to move my itunes music library. I had to resetablish my links. Previously I had all of my movies stored on an external, would just highlight and drag to Itunes movies, an icon and a shortcut would quickly copy ans all was good. Now when I drag the movie icon to itunes it begins a "copying" process that takes a very long time.
    ??

    What I do is this:
I keep the 'Keep iTunes folder Organised' option check (on). So that When I buy music or rip a CD, the music goes into my iTunes folder on my iMac's internal drive (in my home folder - default location).
However, I have elected to keep all my movies on an external drive, effectively meaning that I only want iTunes to partially organise my folder.
How do I get around this?
Simple. To add a movie to iTunes from my external drive, I simply OPTION-DRAG the file into iTunes. ie. select the file in the Finder, hold down the option key and drag it onto iTunes' open window. It will add the movie to the library, but WILL NOT copy it to the iTunes folder - the file will be referenced from its original location.
    Simples.

  • Saving movies to an external Hard drive

I'm confused by all the alternatives to saving my projects and/or events. I have a 500 Gig external hard drive on which I would like to back up my material in order to avoid all the clutter and clips on my iMac ( I use iMovie 11) which I can then presumably delete after backing up, but then import again if required from the external H/D. I am just using up a whole lot of space on my computer with all the movie files.
    1) Do I finalise the projects before exporting ?
    2) Under the "share" option should I use "export using quick time" ?  What is the difference ?
    3) I realise the importance of keeping the raw video the projects point to, so does the actual EVENT have to be finalised in some way before saving ?
    4) I have uploaded a few movies onto Youtube (Restricted viewing) and they are automatically converted to MP4 presumably prior to publishing.  Does the    same thing happen when saving or archiving to an external HD ?
    5) Is there any advantage in converting the finished project to another file type before exporting ?
    6) When importing back into iMovie, does it have to be any particular file type ?
    7) Is there anyway I can separate the events from the projects when saving externally ?
These are the questions that come immediately to mind, but I would appreciate hearing from others what they feel is the best way to back-up externally on a dedicated unit.  I already have time machine, but I find that I would rather have all my movies together on one unit rather than search for them by date when saved with a whole lot of other stuff. I don't really want to burn each individual project onto a disc which is another alternative I suppose.  I have lost precious video in the past and don't want to experiment before I know what I am doing.

To move events and projects to an external drive, follow the instructions here.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4141
To SHARE a movie to the external drive, use SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE or SHARE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME.

  • Open hyperlinks in html text using StageWebView instead of external browser

My iPad app downloads xml data from a server and displays it as html text. The text may contain hyperlinks and currently these are correctly displayed as links in my app. However when I click on the link, it opens the link in an external browser.
Any idea how I could instead open the links using StageWebView - I know how to open a link using StageWebView - the problem is intercepting whatever causes it to open in the external browser and instead use StageWebView.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, John, welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
Does anyone here know of a way to open new windows without using command click in a tab?
If you want links on a web page to open in a new tab, you need to command-click on them. This will work both for links set up to open in the same window and those set up to open in a new window. There is no setting in Preferences to make links on a web page automatically open in a new tab.
There is a preference setting to open links from other programs, such as Mail, in a new tab. In Safari's Preferences, click on the General icon. Towards the bottom where it says "Open links from applications", check "in a new tab in the current window".

I have all my movies on an external hard drive.  I want to be able to access them without copying everything to my iTunes.  How can I do this?

I think DebinSC might mean using the movies without copying to the iTunes library?
Maybe the solution is to uncheck this box?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

  • HT4946 cannot find itunes backup on my PC (win xp). want to move over to external hard drive to restore from backup bc PC not enough space

i just restored my ipad2 to iOS 6.1.3 yesterday. i have been trying to restore from backup, but i keep getting error messages from itunes (running latest version of itunes) that says there is not enough space to save the backup on the computer. i have tried clearing up as much space on my PC (windows xp), but there is still not enough room. and ive tried disk cleanup on my computer and resetting the ipad and running it through recovery mode (as some articles sugggested it would help with restoring after failed attempts). i read on another question in the apple support discussions that someone just moved his whole backup folder into his external harddrive and then he was able to restore from backup.
the backup is definitely saved on my computer (itunes confirms that), and the backup folder is supposed to be here  \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\, but im still not finding it with that file path. i get as far as "username" and then i dont see "application data" and so on. but when i try searching that file path in google chrome, i find it and i see it, but its strange that i cant find it in the "docs and settings" folder in my C drive.
please help! i just want to be able to move the backup folder to my external to restore from backup. thank you in advance!!

Thank you! I was able to find it. Im sorry, i have a few follow up questions. Does the iTunes have to be running from my external as well to do the restore from backup? And if so, how do I move iTunes to external and run it from there? Also, I just copied over the "backup" folder (last part of that file path to my external, is that enough, or did I have to copy it starting from the beginning (docs and settings and so forth)? Lastly, when I select restore from backup in iTunes, would it automatically know that it's the copy on my external to restore backup from? Or do I have to delete or do something with the original file path in my computer?
    Thank you!

  • Moving iDVD movies to an external drive.

I have made many movies of my family and my hard drive was getting full. So I purchased an external hard drive and moved some of my iDVD movies to the external drive. When I went back later to look at the iDVD files I got the "broken assets" message. I know this is because I moved the iDVD file. My question is if it is possible to preserve the iDVD movie files with everything in place that it needs over to the external drive so I want get the "broken assets" message. How do I copy the media files along with the iDVD file? Is it possible, or is there a work around?

    Hello, eco1.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like you are wanting to move your iTunes media folder to an external drive and have iTunes this folder from this location.  If this is the case then I would recommend taking a look at the article below.

  • Hi! I got movies on my external hard drive that are AVI kind and won't play on my macbook pro? need some help please!!

Hi! I got Movies on my external hard drive that are AVI kind and won't play on my macbook pro? When I start playing the movie a message pops up and says "a required codec is not available". I tried flip4mac, xvid, divx already and still not playing my video. need some help please!! thanks.

Although vlc mentioned above is a much more powerful and better player you could try installing Perian if you insist on using the quicktime player.  It may supply the codec it needs.
Not sure why you wouldn't be able to play straight avi files though in quicktime.

  • How Do I: store my iTunes Movies on an external hard drive?

Since my iMac hard drive space (2 terabite) is almost half-full of the Movies I have in my iTunes, I would like to be able to set up my iTunes to store and play the movies from an external hard drive.  I just bought a 4 terabite G-Drive for doing this.  I would also like to be able to view the movies on my two differant Apple TV's.
If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    kalton

I have almost zero experience with Apple TVs. I saw one once in an Apple Store, across the room.
    The easy way:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
    The easier hard way:
You will need delete the movies from your iTunes collection.  Drag them to a folder on the other drive.  Hold down the option key and drag that folder back to an iTunes window. Opton will prevent the files from being copied back to the drive.  Drawbacks: 1) You must remember to do this each time you add an item or it will copy it to the drive. 2)  Deleting it will remove things( metadata) such as ratings, last played, date added.
    The tougher hard way:
Re-assign your media folder to a folder on the external.  Consolidate just the movies to the external.  Re-assign media back to regular location.  Advantages: Will keep your metadata.  Note - I have never done this.
Whatever you do, back up first.

  • APPLE TV (GEN 2): How to view the movies on my external hard drive?

    Hello,
I have a Macbook Pro, with Itunes. I already know how to set-up HOME SHARING with the APPLE TV that allows me to view my Itunes library from my TV.
But on my laptop, with the FRONT ROW feature, I set-up a ALIAS in the movie folder on my computer so that the files from my external hard drive were viewable from the movies folder in FRONT ROW. This great feature now allows me to view my content on my laptop (on Itunes) and the movies on my external hard drive, all on FRONT ROW on the Macbook Pro.
When I opened and set-up the Apple TV (Gen 2), I was surprised that it isn't like FRONT ROW. Instead, it only allows the content on my Itunes to be viewed.
This is a downside because I have only 35 GB free on my internal hard-drive, and all of 350+ GB of movies are on my EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE (Western Digital MY BOOK). Also, the movies files on my external hard drive are .AVI, .M4V, and .MP4
Another question I have is what is the USB port on the back of the APPLE TV for? Can it be used for the external hard drive or no?
Basically, I want to watch all the movies from my external hard drive on my TV.
Can I set this up to happen and how?
If not, what should I do to be able to watch the movies from my computer/external hard drive on my TV?
*Please share as much information as you all can because I need to view all my options (if any) in this situation and I value all the advice....THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!*
    EQUIPMENT:
    Laptop: MACBOOK PRO 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB 1067 MHZ DDR3 MAC OS X 10.6.6
    Apple TV: Gen 2
TV: Vizio 37" HDTV HMDI LCD
External Hard Drive: Western Digital MY BOOK (USB 2.0 + Firewire)

I followed exactly what you advised, and it all worked. I did convert the files first that were .AVI ---> .MP4 (the audio and video came out beautifully when viewed). I organized my files around a bit, and then I went into Itunes---> Preferences---> Advanced---> Changed where I want to grab my movies from. It keep all my previous music, tv, movies, podcasts files that I had in ITunes, and just "added" the new content without disrupting anything in my Itunes at all. I LOVED IT...so simple in the end.
The files did take a while to convert, but I only had to do the ones that I had that were labeled ".AVI". The program, HAND BRAKE, allowed me to set up a "batch" and I had them converting during the afternoon and into the evening.
    All in all....THANK YOU/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic__ _/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/ migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-a vail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstat ic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-ima ges/migration-img-not-avail.png
Since whenever I open my Itunes, all the movies display well, and so my APPLE TV can now view all my "content" in Itunes. I thought I was going to have to return that APPLE TV since I couldn't figure a way around it, and all in all, it wasn't all that bad of a process to convert and then change file location in preferences.
MANY THANKS and HAVE A GREAT WEEK

There's a vlc streamer app in the app store, but you would need to also install the streamer helper on the device where the movies reside. This works between my macbook and my ipad, but if you cannot access the external drive and install the helper file, then probably not
