Office 2000 and WebDav

I'm using the ability of Ifs to save edited Office 2000
documents directly to IFS (Web folders & I think this is WebDav
protocol). My problem is that when I open office document from
IFS, a window for network password appears. Window is very
annoying and meanless, because you can press cancle and document
will still open. Problem does not appear with Office 97 (but
it's impossible to use Web folders and WebDav with Office 97).
My qustion is how to set up system, that this window will not
open.
Hope somebody knows the answer.

I also ran into this problem. When an Office2000 application is
trying to open the document, it makes a new connection to the
webserver. When doing so, it forgets to send the authentication
headers, so you have to authenticate again.
see also: the Microsoft website. This is a known bug in
Office2000.
This is fixed in SR-1/SR-1a for Office2000. So I suggest you
install this fix or use the workaround: right-click the document
and choose "Save As..."

  • Excel activex call changes between Office 2000 and Office XP. How does one manage that?

I have several Active X calls from within a VI. One in particular is
the Excel Cell Value property node in Office 2000. MS has decided to
call it Excel Cell Value2 in Office XP.
I have built and exe on a machine with Office 2000 and can run the code
on a machine with Office XP, but I can not build on the machine with
Office XP. I can also run a VI with that call
on the Office XP box, but if I mass compile the VI I get the broken arrow.
I guess I am confuesed as to why it can run but not compile. If the
ActiveX call is not there for the compile why is it there for the run?
If I can expect this does it work in reverse where I
build on an Office XP box and run on a Office 2000 box?

These problems you are experiencing do stem from the ActiveX changes between Excel versions.  When you mass compile LabVIEW checks to see if everything is linked correctly, including ActiveX portions of your code.  Since there are slight changes the LabVIEW compiler detects something is wrong, but cannot isolate the problem.  You might need to force a recompile of that VI.  Check out this link.

  • RoboHelp Office 2000 and 9.1

Just found my copy of RoboHelp Office 2000 and 9.1 and would like to install them on my new computer and get back to using the program.
    Two questions:
    1. Which of the above versions is the newest?  I realize that they are both quite old but can't remember which is the latest.
    2. Can either version run on Windows 7?  I am using Windows Word 2003.
    Thanks for any input.
    Peg

    Hi Peg.
RH Office 2000 came out sometime in 1999 whilst I believe that RH 9.1 came up afterwards. However neither would support Office 2003 or Windows 7. If you weren't using any Word features maybe you could get one version installed and running but if you had any issues, you'd be on your own as far as Adobe Support is concerned. If you can afford it, I'd strongly recommend you buy the latest version RH8. It is miles better than either of the versions you currently have.

  • Report generation toolkit problem with office 2000 and office XP

Hello, I am having a problem with running my vi after it is compiled with application builder. The dev machine is an XP box and the targer is windows 2000. I included _Excel Dynamic VIs.vi and _Word Dynamic VIs.vi from the office 2000 section of the install cd (for the report toolkit) in the compile but did not include those files for XP. When I run the application on the target machine (2000), the reporting functions call Excel just fine and the program does not come up with any errors. The program however, is not loading the approprate template and inserting the approprate data. Did I leave some neccessary files out of the compile? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Acer,
The recommended procedure in your case is to install Microsoft Office 2000 on the development machine and then reinstall the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit. When the toolkit is installed, it will check for the current version of Office and install the corresponding VIs to support it. The VIs include different ActiveX calls according to the version of Office. Therefore it is not enough to change the support manually without having the correct version of Office installed first.
However, I would recommend that you just try to run your executable on a machine that has Office 2000 installed. The difference in the ActiveX API for Office XP and 2000 is not that significant, so your application might work perfectly on an Office 2000 machine. If you try to run the executable on a machine with Office 97 installed I'm willing to bet my right arm that you will experience errors.
    Good luck Acer!

  • Can I create an exe with report gen addon using office 2000 and run it on a PC with XP?

I have create an executable using the report generation toolkit on a PC that has Office 2000. When I load the executable on a PC with office XP, It will not launch excel. Should the exe be compatible with either version of office? What do I need to do to make it work on both versions?

    Hi Budman,
You should have created the executable in the way as is described here.
On your target machine you have to use the _wordsub.llb resp. _excelsub.llb which belongs to the MS Office version of that machine. The different versions are on the installation CD of the toolkit.
If you have these files in the support directory you do not need to create different exes for different MS Office versions.

  • Acrobat 7.1.0 Professional and Office 2000, no PDF's

Everything was working fine till this morning and has been that way for a few years. I can convert to PDF with all files except .doc files. I have the icons in place in the WORD toolbar. When I click on a CONVERT TO PDF, it prompts for the name and I supply this. It then seems to start doing the conversion and then I am left with a blank page and the file has not been converted. I have looked through all the possible causes and remedies but I am still stuck.I have re-installed OFFICE 2000 and then done DETECT & REPAIR under the help menu and also in the add/remove programs.
    HELP!!
    Thanks

I don't think Acrobat 7 can recognize Office 2007 files; Acrobat 7 was released way before Office 2007.

  • Is Office 2000 compatible with RoboHelp 7?

We are planning to buy RoboHelp7. But, cannot buy Office

    Thanks in advance,

    Problems -
Currently, we are using Office 2000 and RH6. Now, we are
planning to upgrade to RH7. We downloaded the trial version to
check the compatibitiy. We compiled the exisitng RH6 projects with
the RH7. It was found that pages with links are not displaying at
all. We imported them from another project. But, some of then dod
not work after that. There are also some special characters in the
texts. We tried with Office 2007 and RH7. The problems were there
too. Can anyone advice whether this is some bug? We applied the
    vailable patch. But nothing happened.
Should we go for the upgrade?

  • Office 2000 vs Office XP

Does anybody know of away to get around the problem between Office 2000 and Office XP when using Active X and switching between Operating Systems.
I find when I develop a VI on XP then try to run it on a 2000 machine I get errors.
I fix it to run on 2000, now it won't run on XP.
Is there some tool or patch some where that will get around this problem?
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the ActiveX differences between Office versions.  Since Office 2000 and Office XP have different interfaces to certain functions through ActiveX, LabVIEW VIs will break if they are configured for one interface and moved to another.  The only way I can think of to avoid this problem would be to dynamically call your VIs that make ActiveX calls, and call a different VI depending on which version of Office is running on the machine.
    Good luck,

  • Is microsoft office 2000 compatible with leopard?

I recent had my hard drive fail and apple had to replace it. I am reloading software on my computer, I have MS office 2000 and the MS office 2004 as an upgrade. In order for the MS 2004 to work I need to put MS 2000 on my computer, but my computer won't let me install MS 2000. It says something about not being able to run in classics. Am I forced to buy the new MS 2008 because I have leopard on my machine now?

You don't need to install Office 2001. Simply have the CD handy and point the office 2004 installer to the Office folder on that CD when prompted.
Also, since Office is not an Apple product, please post further questions regarding it on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products, as they are more geared toward Office issues than an Apple forum:

  • Distiller 5.0.5 and Office 2000 - creating pdf not working

I am using XP Home Edition SP2, Distiller 5.0.5, and Office 2000
Can not make PDF with 2000 WORD or 2000 EXCEL.
    - WORD: file > print > Distiller results in the conversion hanging up.  The file can not be deleted from the print que until the computer is restarted.  I can not create a postscript file by unchecking the "don't send fonts" check box and check "print to file".  Doing so results in a "prn" file.
I can create PDF with PUBLISHER if I create a postscript file by unchecking "Dont sent fonts", checking "print to file", adding "ps" at the end of file name, then clicking on the ps file, does result in a pdf file
I can create pdf files with file > print > distiller in PhotoShop and PaintShop Pro

After creating the PRN file, open the file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, then look for AcroTray running in the background. If not, then you need to start it (it is in the Acrobat 5/Distiller folder).

  • E63 Quick Office and Microsoft Office 2000

    Hi
I am seriously considering purchasing a (sim free) E63 to replace my PDA & mobile.
I appreciate I will be able to view Word & Excel docs but can I create and edit them using the software already installed (I am in the UK in case there are different versions of the phone). I have read one review that suggests this is possible others that are vague.
I want to be able to be able to transfer the docs back to my PC were I use Office 2000 versions of Word & Excel. I know that I will need a data cable to connect the E63. The Excel docs are pretty straight forward with no complex formulas.
    Thanks

    Hi,
just to add another bit to the confusion: It does work on the E61 ;-) If it doesn´t on the E63, that was just another "sales-promoting measure" by Nokia...

  • Report Generation Toolkit and Office XP and 2K

    Hello Everybody
I am having few problems with running executable using Report Generation Toolkit on machine with Office 2000, which was compiled and build on machine with Office XP (toolkit also XP).
There are many errors which pops up, but the very first one is that the "New Report.vi" can not open the existing Excel book.
Is there any trick, which allows machines with Office 2k to run application build with Office XP?
    Thanks in advance.
    Pawel

    Hi Cin
Yes, that is correct. The reason why I ask was how to find a solution so both XP and 2k can work in the same time.
You are right that most of the features for XO and 2k are simmilar, but try to use XP to open w 2k workbook from excel, it will fail.
    cheers

  • No Adobe PDF menu in Office 2000 after installing Acrobat 9

Hello everybody, I have an urgent problem.
Preliminaries: I use Windows XP (SP3), with 2 GB RAM. Until yesterday, I had an installation of Adobe CS2 Premium. Acrobat 7 professional comes with the PDFMaker plug-in for Office, so I could create PDF files directly from Word... and all was well.
But: yesterday, I installed Adobe CS4 Design Standard *without removing CS2 first* (after having made sure this was possible -- for the time being, I'll have to run Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign CS2 'parallel' to their CS4 cousins, as I'm in the middle of a large project). I was aware of the fact that Acrobat is a 'jealous' program, and that installing Acrobat 9 Pro (which is shipped with my version of CS4) would uninstall ('upgrade', the CS4 installer calls it) the previous version of Acrobat. OK, no problem... or so I thought.
However, I now no longer have an "Adobe Acrobat" menu or tool bar in Word (nor in Excel, nor in any other Office 2000 application). Apparently, the PDFMaker plug-in isn't installed (or doesn't work with Office 2000?).
So -- what should I do? There's a PDFMaker folder in the Acrobat 9 folder tree, but I have absolutely no idea how to proceed. Is there any way to install the plug-in manually?
And, if the PDFMaker plug-in does not work with Office 2K, are ther any other Office plugins out there to help me create PFD files directly from Word?
    Any help is highly appreciated.

Just a quick follow up; I had seen several fixes that directed the user to click on the help menu, then choose "disabled items" then enable the pdf item...the only problem was that when I clicked on the Help menu, there was nothing referencing "disabled items"! In frustration, I finally called Adobe tech support, and the person I spoke with had me click on Help, then About Microsoft Office Word...lo and behold! at the bottom right was a button labeled "disabled items". Problem solved; hope at least one person reads this and avoids the frustration of looking for something in the wrong place.
    Ok, so it wasn't a quick follow-up...sorry!

  • Acrobat 10 comparability with Word in Office 2000

I am still using Office 2000 (cause I like it so please don't suggest I upgrade to a newer version of Office) and having installed a new hard-drive downloaded the trial version of Acrobat X.  If I like it then planning to buy it.  When Acrobat X is installed, Word locks up during launch but if I remove Acrobat X (add/remove programs in control panel) then Word works perfectly.  This was not the case with an earlier version of Adobe on another computer (don't remember how many versions ago) but this feels like there is some new feature in Acrobat X that is incompatible with Word 2000.  The same problem happens whether I am using XP - service pack 3 or Windows 7 so I don't think this is an OS issue.  As background this machine is a Dell Latitude E5400 with an Intel P8700 dual core processor running at 2.53 Gig with 2 Gig of Ram.  Any ideas on a solution?  Does Adobe sell earlier versions of Acrobat?  Thanks,

Does Adobe sell earlier versions of Acrobat?
         No.
Regarding compatibility of Acrobat / MS Word versions; if using the PDFMaker installed by Acrobat you'll want to review
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333504.html
    which address PDFMaker compatible applications.
Acrobat 8 was the last version to support MS Office 2000 applications.
    Be well...

  • Acrobat 9 Pro w/ Office 2000 Observation

Having installed Acrobat 9 Professional I find that the Convert to Adobe PDF buttons (PDF Maker) are no longer are present in any Office applications (Word, Excel or Outlook). They dont exist as available tool bar options. Reading the help file it appears that this feature should be available.
Ive done a Repair of Acrobat 9 as well as a re-install. Ive also renamed the Word normal.dot file and re-booted. Nothing has helped. Reading recent postings and FAQs I find information about previous versions of Acrobat but nothing current. The print to Adobe PDF functions correctly.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Bruce

Isn't there a way (plug-in) to allow support for office 2000?
Is support removed for office 2003 as well?
(it is, I believe a wrong and unjustified decision to remove support for office 2000)
