Hi,
Please first try to log into your OWA and check if you can send email using autocomplete address. If OWA works fine, it means the problem is specific to Outlook client.
If this issue only happen with single or several addresses, we can just delete the address by clicking 'X' after the address:
If this issue happen to all autocomplete addresses, there may be a problem with your autocomplete cache. We can rename the cache file to resolve the problem. You can refer to the following KB article for detailed steps:

Hope this helps.

  • Can't send Mail with AOL address-out of ideas

    hello,
I can recieve mail just fine. It's only when I try to send it. I've tried changing the outgoing server to smtp.aol.com and 4.78.166.10.
changed the ports from 25 to 587 to 1024.
I appreciate your help. thanks in advance.

    powermac g4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

My girlfriend and I are RoadRunner customers and RR allows using an SMTP server outside of their network as long as the SMTP server is authenticated.
I set up my girlfriend's AOL account in Tiger Mail (and the only email account she uses) on my old TiBook that I loaned her until she purchases her own Mac and she sends mail with her AOL account with no problems.
The AOL SMTP server settings are as follows:
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.aol.com
    Server Port: 587
Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Off or not selected.
    Authentication Type: Password
User Name: Your AOL screen name or the portion of your AOL email address in front of the @ sign only.
Password: The password for this screen name/email account - the same used for checking the account for new mail.
If your settings are the same, try deleting and recreating the account in Mail.
If this doesn't work and it should since it works for my girlfriend, you can select/use the RR SMTP server to send mail with your AOL account which is invisible to all recipients.

  • Office 365 json api | send emails with inline attachments

I send the description my team is having with the json integration with Office API 365.
We want to send an email with inline attachments through the JSON API.
With that objective, what we are doing:
    1. Create an empty draft message;
    2. Send the several inline attachments;
    3. Update the body of the draft message (with cid images inline);
    4. Send the message;
What is are our issue with the API?
We are unable to set the "ContentType" properties when we submit the attachments to the Office API 365.
Despite the "ContentType" we send, it is always null.
We are using the following API: POST https://outlook.office365.com/api/v1.0/me/messages/{message_id}/attachments
That's the reason we think that despite the inline image then it is found in the body, it cannot be displayed because the contenttype it is not set correctly.
    Please give us some direction.

  • Unable to send mail with attachment

Running 10.5.5 and Mail 3.5. Am able to send and receive mail, but if I attach a file, mail sends up to a point, rate goes to 0 and mail times out after a few minutes. Am able to receive mail with attachments. Sending is only problem. Have discussed with comcast and it says no problem with their system, must be Apple problem. This problem started in October and I wonder if it is related to latest update (10.5.5).

    Ernie,
Thanks for the comment. Comcast service did tell me that it is using Port 25 to try to control spam, and it might be the problem. However, when I try to change the smtp server, I run into a problem. In the Account Information window the Outgoing Mail Server was set to "none". I selected "Edit Server List" and entered the following: Description; Comcast Mail; Server Name: smtp.comcast.net and then selected "Advanced". The port was set to "Use default ports (25, 465, 587". I selected "Use custom port" and entered 587 and my user name and password. I then clicked OK and returned to the Account Information window. Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), "Comcast Mail (Offline" was showing. The only other option available was "None". smtp.comcast.net was never offered. In addition, when I went back to "Edit server list" and "Advanced", "Use custom port was selected", but the port had been changed to 25. I seem to be locked into port 25. What's going on? Perhaps I should try to reload Mail, although I guess I would lose my several thousand emails.
The really bad thing is that this only started happening a few weeks ago. Before then everything worked very well. I was afraid that when I started sending a group of 100 emails as fast as I could enter them, Comcast noted the rate and decided to put a freeze on my access. The support staff, however, claims that there is no restriction on my account.
I'm perplexed and don't know what to do. I cannot live without email and I am currently tied to Comcast because I also use its Cable TV.

  • Unable to send mail to some addresses after move to Leopard

I am not sure, whether I am in the right forum with my question. If not, please tell me where I should go.
I am traveling a lot for work and have clients in many countries. Since 2004, I have been using Mac laptops and have not encountered any problems sending mail through clients' LANs, from my own place to clients, or from any number of hotels to clients. I migrated from Tiger to Leopard on the day the latter OS became available.
Since the move, I am experiencing a problem sending mail to one specific client. I can no longer send mail to my various contacts within that client's premises (all of whom share the same domain name) from outside. I also cannot send mail to any of those contacts when I am hooked up to the client's network (but not the domain) whilst within the client's premises.
I use Mail and a mac.com address. I do not use web-mail. It is further noteworthy that messages from my side without attachments will sometimes (perhaps 20% of the time) go through. However, messages with attachments never go through. I have discussed the matter at length with the two IT-experts at the client (a government office) and we have not been able to come up with suggestions.
Since I am now forced to use a USB-stick to exchange info with my client, I would much welcome your suggestions as to the cause of the problem and possible solutions. Many thanks in advance.

Thank you for taking up the issue, Type17. The mails do not disappear, they remain in my outbox (on my Mac). The intended recipient does not get a message. I, for my part, see a box with the message 'Cannot send the message using the server 'smtp.mac.com: myloginname'. The server name is highlighted in blue in a box below and I get the choices: 'Edit message', 'Try later' and 'Try with selected server'. None of these resolves the problem. The last option, i.e. 'Try with selected server', is a bit strange, because pressing the button 'Edit server list', shows only the server already mentioned. I have tried 'Connection doctor' several times over the past months, but this consistently gives me a green light against the smtp and the message: 'Connection and login to server successful'.

  • Unable to send mail to some addresses

    Hi,
I'm having a problem sending mail to some recipients via certain mail servers. It's strange because I merely reply to emails from them, so the address is correct. I get this error message:
The server response was: unknown user
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
This is using my domain's mail server. If I send from my .mac account then the message sends fine.
Has anyone else run into this? My ISP is verizon, btw.
    MacBook Pro 17" C2D Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Do you have multiple email accounts? The "unknown user" may be you.
I don't know about Verizon, but some ISPs will not allow you to send a message with a foreign return address. So if you are using Verizon, and your return address on the outgoing message is [email protected] that may be the reason for the error.

I've updated my ipod touch to iOS5 and after that I can't send any email with attachement even with the small one (40kb). What can I do with that?
    thanks,

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Getting: Unable to send attachment with Mail Drop

Mail Drop is not working for me, I always get error message while trying to send.
    Here is what happens:
-I compose a message that includes a large attachment
    -I click send
-I get the message "Unable to send attachment with Mail Drop" for a few seconds
-My message is not sent and it goes into the Outbox folder.
    Configuration:
    OS X 10.10 Yosemite
Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Advanced. The option "Send large attachments with Mail Drop" is selected.

I had the exact same problem.  I finally figured out what was wrong.  I believe you must have iCloud Drive turned on in System Preferences AND you also must allow mail to store document in iCloud Drive which you can check by clicking the "Options..." button in the preference pane of iCloud Drive. As you can see below.

  • Unable to SEND mail using Activesync in Exchange 2010 server on iPhone or Windows Mobile 6.1

    Hi All,
We've been setting up a new SBS 2011 server for a client this week. Everything is working, except the staff have 4 x iPhones to connect with Exchange ActiveSync.
There are 2 x iPhone 4's and 2 x iPhone 3Gs's. We can setup the Exchange accounts on each of the phones and they are all able to sync mail and calender etc with the server.
The problem we have is when any of them try to send mail from the phone, it gives an error : "Cannot Send Mail - An error occurred while delivering this message" and it sits in the outbox on the phone.
The newsgroups and forums are littered with people having issues with IOS4 and Exchange 2010 but most of these are from June-August 2010 when IOS4 version was around 4.00 or 4.01
A lot of these people had iPhone 3 handsets running with IOS 3.1.3 which worked with Exchange 2010 but when they upgraded to IOS 4, they had this problem sending mail.
It seems that for most of them, the fix came in the form of IOS version 4.1 which fixed the send issue for them.
We have a variety of Hansets and IOS versions (including an iPhone 3Gs running IOS 3.1.3) but are unable to send mail from any of them:
    iPhone 3Gs    IOS 3.1.3
    iPhone 3Gs    IOS 4.3.3
    iPhone 4       IOS 4.3.3
    iPhone 4       IOS 4.3.5
I was surprised that the iPhone 3Gs running 3.1.3 was unable to send either as nearly all the forums etc I read with this issue said the iPhone 3's worked with that IOS version.
Today we used a test iPhone 4 handset from our office to connect to an almost identical Small Business Server 2011 we setup two weeks ago for another client.
The test iPhone 4 was able to connect, Sync and Send email on that server but when set it to connect to this SBS 2011 server, it gets the "Cannot Send Mail" message the same as the others. So clearly the handset is working (on the other server at least),
it must be something misconfigured in this Exchange server right?
We ran the Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyser on the Exchange server and got green ticks across the board.
Outlook Web App and Outlook Anywhere both work normally. Everything we can test on the Exchange server works except sending from any iPhone.
Having said all that, I just setup a Windows Mobile 6.1 handset to sync with the Exchange 2010 server as a test, and it appears to have the same issue.
It will connect & Sync Mail, Contacts and Calendar but if trying to send an email from the phone, it will just sit in the outbox.
Does anyone have some insight into what the problem may be?

Further to this .. I found the solution on a MS Exchange 2010 support forum.
It was not a certificate or firewall issue, looks as thought the “Accepted Domains” in Exchange Mgmt Console –
Org Config – Hub Transport cannot have any spaces in the name field.
I had some spaces and the emails were not downloading fully and able to send. Once I removed the spaces from the Name field and
restarting the Exchange and IIS services emails were now being sent and received ok.

  • Can't send mail with powerbook G4, mail.app, mac OS 10.5.8 and verizon smtp server.

We just made the switch to Verizon.
Setting up Mail.app with my relatively new MacBook Pro (and OS 10.8.4) was very smooth.
Not so with my wife's old PowerBook G4 running 10.5.8, which she inherited from my daughter.
It seems to set up fine, using the same settings for the servers as on the MBP (it has to be done manually), but it is unable to send mail (via the verizon smtp server). The Connection Doctor thing does not have any trouble finding the servers and connecting.
I get the "The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server smtp.verizon.net." message.
These settings work when sending email from this verizon account from her iphone, or from my MBP.
I successfully set up my .me email account on the G4 and that was able to send mail.
Couldn't find anything online to shed light on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Your asking peers here.
You didn't say which settings you were trying to use.   Lots of people are posting about switching over to the latest EMAIL settings which include pop.verizon.net and smtp.verizon.net as the servers.  However it has invariably been a  mistake they are making or a special requirement of there DEVICE such as a shutdown and restart.
You should take a look at http://verizon.com/emailsettings .  There are both the manual settings and some automatic trouble shooters that may be able to setup your device.

  • Receiving mail, but can't send mail with attachments?

    Hello,
I can't send mails anymore, I have been able to send some without any attachments (i.e. reply doesn't work as it automatically attaches the original text). This started 3 days ago. Also, my mail doesn't seem to recognize powerpoint and word docs., but I a know the people who have send me such files do not have VISTA. When I choose "open with" then it works. So I have 2 problems, one being moe urgent then the other.
    1) can't send mail with attachments
    2) .doc (word), .pps (powerpoint)attachments are not always recognized.
    thank you all!!!

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works
