Official NFCU CLI Guide

You have a Q?I have an A! Q: Is it possible to know before requesting if my account will be eligible without a HP? A: If you access your full Equifax  report and look at SP/Promotional Inquiries you will see (NAVY AR) and they will be every 3 months like clock work once you see the first one... IF at any time you are going to have a better chance of a sp increase it will be after that AR has been done. Q: I currently only have a $1k limit, won't asking for $25k just get my request Flat out Denied or HP for sure because of the large request?A: All data shows that Navy allows requests up to $25k without review IF your account is eligible so if you request just $5k and it's instantly granted than you have left CL available to you by not asking for the full $25k and getting the instant counter. Q: I get a message "A CONDITION EXISTS ON MY ACCOUNT AND I NEED TO CALL" Does that mean a SP CLI is not available?A: This is an INTERNET ERROR with Navy, it has nothing to do with your account being able to get a CLI or not... you need to use Firefox, Chrome, Clear cookies, Clear Browser history and close out and restart in one of those browsers and try again. DO NOT CALL! Q: I have been thinking about a Second Navy Card OR I applied for a Second Navy Card but was declined?A: Use to be easiest to ask through secure message to have some of your credit line from the first card MOVED to the 2nd card that you were just declined for to have it approved... sometimes you can call and have the request submitted also... If you are told no, try calling instead of secure message, or hang up and try again in a little bit... If a rep tells you no, they just don't know! Find the one that does know! Q: How much of my current CL should I move to open the 2nd Card?A: I'll use $25k as your current limit on your 1st card... Move $20k of your 1st card to open your 2nd card. Q: Why would I move so much of my 1st Card to open the 2nd card?A: (The secret is out but don't scream it out loud we don't want it to stop ) Once you see your 1st card updated on your log in with the new reduced limit and the new 2nd card listed with the new limit you moved from your 1st card... Request a CLI on your 1st card back to the limit it had BEFORE you moved limit to open the 2nd card, it will instantly approve it! Q: When should I apply for NAVCheck/Checking Line of Credit (Navy has changed the name I believe) and for how much?A: 1. Join Navy. 2. Apply for a Credit Card. 3. Apply for NavCheck 4. ALWAYS ASK FOR $15k (Just like with Credit Cards, Navy will counter if not the full amount and you can't ever ask for to much, it's called a counter for a reason!) Q: When should I apply for my 2nd Navy Card?A: EITHER when you hit $25k on your first card within 6 months OR After you successfully get your first SP CLI (Usually 3-6 months in my opinion) Q: I received NavCheck but not for the full $15k, When should I go back and ask for CLI to $15k again?A: After you successfully get your first SP CLI on your 1st credit card (It was about 3 months after opening for me)

I hope thats right Creditaddict, If not I will have like 20 hp's for all that instant. I will not ask for anything for another 5 years lmao...You are one of the latest that I hope confirms my thinking of just asking for $25k right out of the gate because you had to go back 10x and others have done this recently. The only experience I have is on my partners card and he was at $25k and asking for $35 resulted in 3-5 day and a HP but was approved, so I don't know if that's a over $25k thing or if he just would have gotten the HP regardless.... I hope to soon be adding some more cards so I can test the theory more later possibly! haha but for now....I think the other added note is Navy doesn't much seem to care about INQ, even if they do pull!

  • Errors in 1z0-051 and 1z0-061 Official Oracle exam guides

What can we do about errors in the official Oracle exam guides.
I am doing the 1z0-061 (Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals).
The 051 and 061 exams are exactly the same.
051 is written by John Watson and Roopesh Ramklass and the 061 is written by Ramklass, but the thing is, both books have the same content word for word.
I found these errors in the books:
(1.) In chapter 08 (Using subqueries to solve problems) in both books it says "A subquery can be used to select rows for insertion but not in a VALUES clause of an INSERT statement".
But this is wrong. You CAN use a subquery in a VALUES clause: This will work ->
    INSERT INTO values_test (f1) VALUES ((SELECT SYSDATE FROM DUAL));
However you have to have the 2 brackets in red.
    (2.)
Chapter 2: Self test question 9
The following character literal expression is selected from the DUAL table: SELECT 'Coda""s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring' FROM DUAL; (Choose the result that is returned.)
    A.  An error would be returned due to the presence of two adjacent quotes
    B.  Coda's favorite fetch toy is his orange ring
    C.  Coda""s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring
    D.  Coda""s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring'
The books says the correct answer is B. But this is wrong.
Correct answer is C, since the "" are 2 double quotes and they will appear as it is.
Even if "", is actually 4 single quotes the output then will be Coda''s favorite fetch toy is his orange ring
    which has 2 single quotes.
I wrote to the author  (emai [email protected]) but got no reply.
How can we let Oracle certification know that there are errors in these books. This can affect the exam and can mean the difference between passing and failing.

    >The book cover says "Oracle Press", meaning Official Oracle.
No -- the name does not mean that.  'Oracle Press' is a division of the McGraw-Hill publishing company that specializes in writing books for the Oracle suite of products.  Oracle has close ties with the publisher and often supplies information to the authors that is not publicly available.  However, Oracle is not responsible for the content of the books.
    >If not, then what ARE the Official Oracle guides?
The only thing that you could call an 'Official' Oracle guide would be student guides developed by Oracle University for one of their courses.  This content is supplied to attendees of the courses. The material is copyrighted and should not be available on the Web.

  • The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Note:  while this was at one time the correct guide, recent changes in policy have changed.  There will be updated information coming soon. One of the most popular topics of discussion on the forum is the American Express 3X CLI. Here is a small guide I put together to alleviate some misconceptions based on personal experiences and discussions here and other boards. Please feel free to suggest modifications or enhancements. Please don't copy/paste the information to other boards. Linking here is fine.
    What is the 3X CLI?
=========================================================== American Express is one of the most sought after credit cards in the market. They are also typically one of more generous companies with respect to credit limits outside of the credit unions. For folks who do not qualify for NFCU and other credit unions known to issue high credit limits despite low FICO scores and or moderate credit history, the best way to get high(er) CLs is to first get accepted into American Express and then apply for an increased credit limit upto 3 times the existing approved limit after a certain minimum number of days have passed (discussed in details below). This really comes in handy when the initial approved limit is on the lower side (example $2,000) due to internal American Express risk score models, mostly for folks starting out in their credit journey or with other risky credit/income factors. After completing the "60" day magic number of the account being open and in good standing, one can request an increased credit limit upto 3X the initial limit starting with the 61st day, meaning someone who got approved for $2,000 could request that the new credit limit be $2,000 x 3 = $6,000, someone who got approved for $3,000 initially could request the new credit limit be $3,000 x 3 = $9,000 and so on.  Why is the 3X CLI Important?
=========================================================== Credit Utilization is one of the most important components of the FICO score (30% per official wording from FICO).Given the same amount of spending, with higher available credit, utilization is lower and hence FICO scores are higher. But more importantly this is a gateway to getting approved for other prime cards/rewards cards like Visa Signature, MasterCard World, points, cashback etc offered by various lenders like Chase, Citi, BoA, US Bank etc who typically issue them if they see an existing high limit card. Higher limits from one lender attracts higher limits from others up until the overall available credit reaches a certain threshold. No other lender is known to have a 3X CLI policy and that too as early as the 61st day. One may be able to procure a CLI from other lenders but typically it is a hard inquiry or sometimes flat out denial because the account is considered too new. Amex is the only lender that offers this. More recently though GEMB issued credit cards are also known to get generous increases (sometimes even > 3X initial limits) via a Soft Pull. This policy is relatively new but widely reported to be successful across different boards.  Is the 3X CLI automatic or guaranteed?
=========================================================== Most definitely not. The components factored into a CLI approval or denial are not published but widely accepted to be similar to the FICO models. Amex also asks for income and rent during the CLI request process. Other factors remaining same, chances of a CLI approval are higher if the account has always been in good standing e.g lower utilization, low risk spending patterns, on time payments etc. The 3X CLI request has to be manually initiated by the account holder after becoming eligible.
Will there be a hard inquiry when requesting 3X CLI?
    ===========================================================
Fortunately not. American Express initiates soft pulls on Experian throughout the life of an open account with random frequency. During the first 60 days, it is not uncommon for Amex to have soft pulled at least 3-4 times. The CLI approval or denial will be based on the last soft pull before the CLI request and other factors like income/rent etc. A new hard pull or soft pull is not initiated when requesting the 3X CLI. If in doubt, get a copy of your Experian report and see when Amex issued a soft pull to gauge account statistics at that snapshot and request CLI accordingly. Post 186 explains how to get your experian report and check for soft pulls. If there are concerns that the overall utilization or Amex utilization was high during the last soft pull, it might be worth waiting a few more days and then applying for CLI after Amex has issued a new soft pull.
When does an acccount become eligible for CLI?
=========================================================== Amex does NOT increase an account's credit limit during the first 60 days after it has been OPENED, or for at least 6 months from the last credit limit increase. The key word here is OPENED aka the account creation date. There are a few ways to find out the exact date the account was opened. a) Call the number on the back of the card and simply ask the friendly customer service rep. There is nothing to be worried about here or get nervous. You are not asking for a CLI to the rep, but simply the day the account was opened. This can be done during card activation itself or any point later. Some friendly CSRs will also calculate and mention the first eligible date for CLI (61st day since account opening). If they are not aware of the first eligible date, simply ask for account opening/creation date and calculate it yourself. b) "Date Opened" field on your Equifax or TransUnion credit report. Both EQ and TU report the account opened day and month accurately (Equifax started doing this recently). 3rd party credit pullers may or maynot pull the date opened field accurately, the official credit reports are the only reliable source. It is important to note that the year field in "Date Opened" is affected by your American Express Member Since date, so may not reflect the year the card was originally opened. The only downside is one has to wait for the card to report to EQ and TU first, but Amex is usually very prompt to report.
    c) Before the first statement has been cut, the account opened date is reflected under the Recent Charges field next to the "Since". Example in this pic, the account opened date is Jan 08. The "Since" field changes every statement period as it starts tracking the spending for that statement, so it is a good idea to get the account open date information using this method as early as possible. Existing Amex card members with an online profile are at an advantage to use this method because any new approved cards show in the profile before the card has been delivered physically, displaying several key account details like the account open date, first statement closing date, last 5 digits of card etc. First time Amex card members should try to setup the online profile as early as possible after physically receiving the card(s) to take advantage of this method as the first statement can sometimes close very soon after receiving the card(s).
Example calculation of 1st eligibility date taking the above screenshot as an example (Account opened : 01/08/2013). The account will complete 60 days on March 9, 2013 based on the following calculations:
Number of days by January 31 : 23
Number of days by February 28 : 28
Number of days by March 9 : 9
Total days open by March 9 : 60 In this example the first eligible date for CLI is March 10, provided there have been no other CLIs for any other accounts in the last 6 months, as the 60 days are completed by March 9th,  A better and easier way to calculate Amex milestones has been explained in Post 227. Using the time and date calculator, we see the same result that we got from the manual calculation above.
    How to request the CLI?
=========================================================== a) Calling the number on the back of the card. The number is unique to each credit product and is automated. Usually the option to request a credit limit increase is option #4 or #5, or if you are comfortable a CSR can take the application and let you know approval/denial once they submit. If you are denied, they may not be able to give the specific reason and you have to wait for an email or a letter in the mail outlining the reasons. b) Logging into your account. Click on "Profile and Preferences -> More Options -> Manage Credit Limit" under Account Management.  It is also available by clicking "Manage My Account"(Toggled to "HIDE ACCOUNT OPTIONS" in the pic below) next to the "Outstanding Balance/Available Credit" on main page    In both cases you want to request the new credit limit itself (e.g $6,000 if initial limit is $2,000). Don't calculate the increase ($6.000 - $2,000 = $4,000) yourself and mention it.
What happens if you are denied CLI?
=========================================================== If you jumped the gun before the 60 days/6 months rule, the reason for denial is considered ineligibility. If that is the case you can reapply after the original and correct 60day/6month timeline. You do not have to wait an additional 90 days, so the clock doesn't get reset. If you were eligible and got denied due to other factors, then you are ineligible to reapply for another 90 days since the denial date. If you get the message after requesting CLI, that a decision will be mailed within 7-10 days, it most likely means that the CLI has been denied. There is an outside chance that the letter that comes from Amex may ask for a signed 4506T in order to give further consideration to the CLI request(details below) but in 99% of the cases it is a letter outlining the reasons for denial. It also provides the true FICO score from the bureau that was used in the decision making process. Most of the time it is Experian FICO, but Amex is known to use EQ and or TU in rare circumstances. Sometimes the reason(s) for denial is also sent via email immediately after the CLI request in addition to the letter in mail. Update 06/23/2013 : Lately there have been reports of approvals in emails within a 24 hr period after initially getting the 7-10 day message. The 7-10 day message indicates manual review and there has been a report of successful partial CLI after talking to CSR post 7-10 day message as well in Post 182  Can you request 3X CLI again after 6 months since last CLI?
=========================================================== Absolutely. There have been lots of success stories where people have gone from $2,000 to $6,000 to $18,000 because their income and credit profile supported the increase request. It is generally tougher to get the full 3X CLI after 6 months on the same account since the first CLI however. Even if a 3X CLI is requested, Amex may counter offer a partial increase which you can choose to accept or refuse. It is a good idea to not short change yourself and ask for a partial increase from the beginning because Amex system is smart enough to offer and approve a partial CLI if eligible. Amex may request documentation to support a CLI to a CL above $25K, including a request for a 4506T.  Accounts are not suspended, nothing is mandatory. They may ask for documents, and if you don't present them, they may deny the CLI. More details below.  Additional Documentation/4506T for certain CLI Requests
=========================================================== For certain CLI requests, Amex sends a letter requesting a signed 4506T from the card holder. Amex can then obtain tax return transcripts from IRS in order to verify income. Here is a sample tax return transcript which shows what kind of information can be obtained via a signed 4506T. A tax return transcript has far more details than just income and hence is considered very intrusive by many. If Amex does not receive the signed 4506T within 30 days from the date on the letter, then no further consideration is given to the CLI request and a letter of denial is sent. No CLI can be requested for 90 days from the date in the denial letter. Sending back the signed 4506T also doesn't guarantee a CLI approval as Amex will also evaluate the usual credit factors via soft pulls on Experian in addition to income verification. Income to overall credit available across all accounts(amex and non-amex) is one of the key factors for Amex Internal Risk Score. Lower risk score improves chances of getting approved for the CLI. The following often (but not always) are potential reasons why Amex asks for 4506T for a CLI request.  New requested credit limit exceeds $25,000 for that particular account.New requested credit limit would make overall credit extended across all Amex revolving accounts exceed $34,500 (post 123)High internal risk score due to income on file to overall credit across amex and non-amex accounts ratio being too low.Unusual/large/manufactured/risky spending patterns. It is important to note that this whole process, although inconvenient/complicated/intrusive, is different from the dreaded Amex Financial Review. During an Amex FR, all accounts are suspended and sending back the signed 4506T is mandatory in order to be considered for lifting the suspension. For business accounts, even more documentation is required during an FR. Also an FR can happen at any time and not necessarily after requesting an increase in credit limit.    Some generic Amex CLI Guidelines
=========================================================== Requesting CLI > 3X current limit results in automatic denial. Letter in the mail indicates that credit limit cannot be greater than three times the current limit. So American Amex credit limits are capped at 200% increase. Update: Requesting CLI > 3X no longer results in automatic denial. If the account is eligible for CLI, then new limit is counter offered keeping the 200% cap in effect(meaning CLI counter offered will not exceed 3X current limit under any scenario)Canadian Amex are capped at 50% increase every 6 months (Post 45)Minimum 6 month since last CLI rule applies across ALL accounts held by an individual and includes both personal & business accounts for the same person. So if CLI was successful on a personal account, no CLI can be approved on all other personal and business accounts for the same person for a period of 6 more months. (Posts 5 and 6 of the AmEx 61 day CLI result: 7-10 day written response thread)Credit limits can be moved between accounts only after the completion of 13 statements cycles on both the donor account. Post 170 explains how to move limits between Amex cards. Additionally limits cannot be moved between personal and business cards as mentioned in Post 171 Moving credit limits doesn't reset the 6 month clock and is a backdoor to receiving CLI on same account twice within 6 months (Post 128)"6 months" timeline used in context of this guide actually is 180 days to be more precise (not 6 calendar months)

Carrying Balance vs PIF & Other Utilization Factors=========================================================== This section is a work in progress.  To see how charge cards affect credit scores, please check Post 204Amex clearly dislikes carrying balance. Check Post 189 to see more details and the official reason for denial as "one or more payments received in the past 12 months on your american express account were too low given the outstanding balance and repayment history"          Change Log

  • Lenovo U310: Clean Windows 7 Installation Guide (including Rapid Start and Caching)

    Hi there,
this is the first time that I am writing such a guide/tutorial/whatever you may call it – there are probably better ones, but though not being a total computer noob, it took me almost one week to get this pretty (now again) little beast running again. So hopefully this helps some others to avoid such stupid downtimes.
A brief overview on what has happened to my original win 7 Home Premium:
As some may know, this laptop is very well usable as a “Hackintosh” called Macbook clone. So that’s what I did. It turned out to be nice, but I wanted to go back to Windows after a while, using a clean W7 Pro installation to start over. Actually an easy task, format all drives, install Windows, be happy. Just as I had been doing this for years. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a real challenge. First, I couldn’t “see” my drives during installation (and thus not install), then I got random errors during installation aborting it at different points and finally rapid start and caching didn’t work. Every time I tried to activate them (after Win installation), it crashed my PC. I even found an (official Lenovo!) guide stating to install W7 on the SSD, which worked, but sucks due to space limitations. Oh and another very nice thing: The SSD showed up during WIN installation (but not the classical hard drive) stating it was about 60 GB. So as you can see, I have had a lot of different tries and errors. Why I didn’t use Lenovo Easy Recover? As said before, I erased all partitions…
Before we start: If you have a good Windows running on the Laptop, do yourself a favor and disconnect the RAID 0 disks using the Intel Rapid Storage Application before(!!!) proceeding. It will make things much easier. And don’t forget to get all you data on an external drive or something.
    Ok, now let’s start.
1.)    Prepare a USB Stick with the following driver
             http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=21730 (choose f6flpy-x64.zip If you’re running a
64-bit system (standard nowadays), take f6flpy-x86.zip if it is a 32-bit Windows, just download and copy them
into the stick’s root directory) and plug this stick in one of the left side USB ports.
2.)    You’ll need Win 7 on either a DVD (plus external drive, for sure) or (bootable) USB stick
3.)    Connect your drive/stick (with W7) to the right side USB port.
4.)    Switch the computer on, immediately hit FN and F2. That will open the BIOS.
5.)    In the BIOS, navigate to the very right section (“save and exit”) and navigate the cursor to “load setup defaults”.
             Hit enter to approve.
6.)    After that, go to the “boot” tab and disable UEFI-boot.
7.)    Next, go one more tab to the left and set the controller setting to RAID (NOT AHCI or Compatible!!!).
8.)    Navigate the cursor down to “Intel Rapid Start” and hit enter. A submenu will pop up-
9.)    Disable the first entry in that window, that will make the rest be disabled as well.
10.) Navigate to the very right tab, this time hit save and exit.
    11.) The PC restarts.
12.) Immediately hit FN and F12 to open the boot selection menu. Select to boot from your W7 DVD drive or USB
            stick.
13.) Click yourself through the whole process of installing Windows 7 until the page comes up where you will have
to select where to install it.
14.) Click on “load drivers” and after a few seconds your downloaded driver should be there. Click ok to use them.
Please do this step even if you can see your drives (SSD Disk 0, 32 GB and HDD Disk 1, 465(<-?) GB) as you
would expect them – otherwise you’re very likely to get an error during the install process.
15.) Now erase all partitions on both drives and select the HDD as the drive to install W7 to – NOT THE SSD!!!!!
            Seriously, don’t choose the SSD.
16.) Windows will probably say that some extra partitions are necessary and so on, click ok and install Windows.
17.) After the installation has finished and you see your Desktop, I suggest you to proceed with the next steps in the
following order to see as early as possible if you are on the right way.
18.) Install the Chipset driver, restart.
19.) Install the Intel Rapid Storage “driver” and check the box where it asks to additionally install the control center.
            Reboot.
20.) Go into BIOS (FN and F2) and enable Intel Rapid Start (the one you disabled in Step 8 and 9)
    21.) Boot into Windows.
22.) Click on the Windows button, type cmd and right klick on the cmd.exe, select to run it as Admin.
23.) Now you’ll create a hibernation partition on the SSD. (which by now should be completely empty as we’ve
deleted all partitions in step 15)
24.) In the command prompt that we have just opened, type: (without quotas, for sure)
“diskpart” and hit the enter button
“list disk” and hit the enter button
Now you should see your ssd as disk 0 and your hdd as disk 1
If your ssd is disk 0 (that would be standard), write “select disk 0”, otherwise write: “select disk 1”, and hit the enter button.
Now write “create partition primary size=4096” and hit enter again. [if you have 4GB of ram, type 4096, if you have 8 GB of ram, use 8192]
Now write “detail disk” and hit enter to see the volume number behind the volume that we have just created (it is 4 GB or 8 respectively, should be easy to find), in my case that was “2”
Now type “select volume 2” if your 4 or 8 GB volume has number 2 as well, otherwise use the number you found out in step f. Hit enter.
Finally, type: “set id=84 override” and hit enter for one last time.
It should now say back that the id has been set successfully.
    Exit the command prompt. (close)
    25.) Reboot
26.) Install the Rapid Start driver. Reboot.
27.) Open the Intel Rapid Storage Application.
28.) Click on accelerate and approve the settings. Two RAID’s will be created. Reboot.
29.) Install the remaining drivers, have fun with Windows Update and that’s it!
Good luck to all of you… And hey Lenovo - wouldn't that have been your job after all these posts showing your costumers in trouble? Just my two cents...
If you want, you can now turn on UEFI-boot in BIOS.
PS: If, after installing all drivers, you happen to see one unknown device in your device manager – this one belongs to Lenovo Connect Software that came with your Laptop. (Updates FB, Email etc when PC is in sleep mode) If you install Lenovo Connect it’s going to be fine, however, I would not recommend it as it is said to use a lot of energy and cause some other problems. So just live with it, your PC is totally fine without it.
    Kind regards from Shanghai

Seriously guys, I can't use my 3 days old laptop. Some help would be mostly appreciated. At this point, the network connection issue doesn't show up anymore, it's just a blank screen after reboot. I reinstall windows and do it all over again just to achieve the same result.
Now couple of things caught my attention: as I load the "6flpy-x64.zip" driver from step 14, I get a message saying I need to install signed drivers, because unsigned ones are likely to mess up the system.
Secondly, I could not find any Rapid Storage Technology drivers for Windows 7 (particularly for U310 model), so I use the Windows 8 ones (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031455), which seems a silly thing, yet I know of no alternatives.
Could it be any of these issues to cause my problem? Or smth else? Please help!

    Hi Ashok,
It might be too late for your specific task but maybe the following information could help others: Meanwhile, there is an official How-to Guide that describes how to integrate BCV in your own Web Dynpro application. It can be found here:

  • Summer App Spree AMEX, CITI, NFCU, BOA Building Credit

Have been deployed since August of 2014. Soon returning. Used the time to rebuild and work on my credit. Got a car loan in April 2014 with M&T then refinanced through USAA for 4.00%. Applied for nRewards with NFCU in July 2014 and was approved for 3,000. Applied for LOC and got it to 15,000. Applied for Cap One QS 1 and Platinum 500 each, EO bumped up one to 1500. Now that i'm coming home and have (for the most part) not done much of anything credit related while I was gone (other than NFCU CLIs and Chase Slate for a balance transfer) i've come out the garden swinging. APPROVED 7/16BOA HRC Cash Rewards 3500AMEX BCE 2500AMEX PRG w/ 50,000 sign up bonusNFCU PC from nRewards to Flagship Visa Sig with 18,000 Credit LineDISCOVER IT CLI +500 PENDING 7/16 Citi Premier -- was originally denied, the EO is reviewing my application again and will get back to me by Monday. Provided me with direct line to call to give additional info or ask questionsNFCU Cash Rewards - just waiting on site to update my app I hope to close or consolidate my smaller limit cards and higher interest cards. I didn't intend to go on a spree prior to purchasing another car but eh, you live once. Will certainly garden after my car purchase so I can look forward towards a mortgage. And for those who are wondering, INQ - somewhere between 7-13 on each, AAofA 4 years, one paid collection, no unpaid collections, one 120 day late from 4 years ago, 3 30 day lates from two years ago to the day when I lost my civilian job - all on credit cards. My scores are from myfico. Oh by the way, when I got the slate in February I believe it was, I had more than 5 accounts in two years. Thanks to everyone for their help, i've been on this forum for over a year now I just never post anything.

Great Job. Try PenFed for your car loan. I've always found their rates far better then USAA or NFCU for auto but YMMV. Also, if you dont have an account with them, they do a HP for account openings and your pull is good for 30 days for any of their products. Goodluck on your car purchase and Congrats on the very sucessful app spree.

  • Creating san-port-channel on 6248 using CLI

I can create the san port channel using UCS manager. But I would like to know the syntax using CLI. So far I was able to figure out the following. One thing missing was moving the port channel from the default VSAN(1) to a different VSAN i.e VSAN 10 in my case. I have looked at the CLI guide, but have not found the commands syntax. Appreciate if anyone can post the syntax
    ### Create Port Channel ###
    scope fc-uplink
    scope fabric a
    create port-channel 1
    enable
    set name port-channel-1
    set adminspeed auto
    commit-buffer
    end
    ### Add interfaces to Port Channel ###
    scope fc-uplink
    scope fabric a
    scope port-channel 1
    create member-port 1 29
    exit
    create member-port 1 30
    commit-buffer
    end

Thanx Wdey. That's exactly what I was looking for. Here is the syntax which works for me.
    scope fc-uplink
        scope fabric a
            create port-channel 1
            enable
            set name port-channel-1

  • App & CLI Spree Results

I love that I have a place where I can come onto and post about this   Ok, so I've made an overly excited thread already on a couple approvals I've got recently, but I decided to go for a couple more, one of them stupid (didn't think it through and had a couple beers when I apped), but the other ones fit within my strategy and I came out pretty good. 7/8 - Lowes CLI $2,500 -> $25,000 :: SP7/9 - NFCU CLI $17,500 -> $22,000 :: SP 7/23 - Chase CSP App -> $25,200 (actually asked me if I wanted a better CLI than my NFCU)  -- EX HP7/23 - Chase Slate App -> $10,500 -- Same HP as above so only 1 HP on EX for both cards. 7/23 - USAA Rate Advantage MC @ 10.9% -> $16,000 - Single HP on EQ^^Ok so this one I was a little buzzed and saw that it was a potentially low APR card (lowest APR 6.99) and figured since I was doing so well, even Cap1 Pre Quals had me at the lowest interest after my last CC balance paydown cleared and my UTI went to below 1%, but it didn't go so well. I got a good SL, but my interest rate was meh compared to other cards, definitely didn't need it since there are no bonus' or rewards with it.  7/24 - Barclay Ring -> $15,000 - Single HP on TU^^This one surprised me..  I thought I'd get $7,500 like others had got, but I called in from 7-10 day message, which happens to me almost every time because my mailing address is a PO BOX (no home mail service where I live) and that's what is on my report, not my physical address. I talked to the analyst, and he said he liked this and that on my report, so how about $15,000? I said OK!! Honestly I got this one because I saw someone else mention they were approved, and I noticed it was only 8% in the offer and was miffed at not getting below 10.9% on the USAA card  Between Chase and Barclaycard, I've come to the conclusion that a 7-10 day message is better than auto-approve when you have higher scores. Analysts tend to be more generous in starting limits when they manually review. I have every card I want in the short term. There are some cards I still want in the long term, like an Amex, although that need might go away now that Costco is moving to Visa, but Amex does have some nice perks that I wouldn't mind taking advantage of. But for the mean time, I'm planting myself in the garden for a long while so these TLs can grow some. My AAoA was 4.1, and will likely be mid to high 2's after these 4 cards post to my account (ugh!).  Again, I have the utmost gratitude for this forum. You guys are great and I love discussing credit stuff with y'all.

Congrats! You did awesome. The Ring was one of my early cards I got this year after I started apping for cards after 2 decades. I was interested in that 8% also, however it's not a rewards card. I recently got the Sallie Mae and they allowed me to move my CL to Sallie Mae, and I'm keeping $1k in Ring, because I don't want to lose that low 8% APR just in case down the line and I believe they would move CL back to it if needed.

  • Dialog instance Installation clarification

While installing Dialog Instance on ERP 2005 server ( distributed system based on AS ABAP) , in the last stage it gave error " Java processes of instance s36/D01 Java: UNKNOWN did not reach state PARTRUNNING after 20:00 minutes. Giving up."
Are there some prerequisites regarding dialog instance installation .
My goal is to install webdispacher for the system.

From the error information that pasted, there is not enough to pinpoint where is the rootcause is.
You can check in in your java bootstrap log / dev_jcontrol / sapinst_dev.log, if there is any detailed or specific error.
Typically it is due to misconfiguration, i.e dns / profile parameters (
    Typically, we should check:
    - if enough disk space for /usr/sap/SID and installation temp directory
    - Directory permission
    - J2EE engine Parameter, i.e SAP Note 741289
    - check if J2EE is indeed running well. see also SAP Note 764417 & 723909
    - did you refer to any official SAP Installation guide ?

  • Please share your experiences moving from Quark to InDesign

My company's design group is pushing to move from Quark to Indesign, starting with one of my projects, which is our largest (400 pages), highest profile document (it is currently in Quark, and the plan is to pour the text and graphics into InDesign). Our schedule is very lean--leaving little room for surprises. None of the compositors in the design group have used InDesign. They are expected to recieve some formal training--but only about 1 week's worth total over a period of several weeks. I am all for making the transition to InDesign, but feel that the wiser path to take is to start on smaller and less high-profile documents that have more time in the schedule for the learning curve. However the design manager is adament that the transition will be problem-free. My experience is that any transition like this has bumps, and most are unexpected, and create havoc and panic. This document has only gone to print on time once (in 10+ years)--with me managing the project and with much sweat and tears. My hope that this year we could go to print on time AND do it with less wear and tear on all who work on it. I just don't think this will happen making this tranisiton now. Can anyone share their experiences when they made the transition?

Everyone else has had really good advice about starting with a 400 page doc, particularly if it's complex. If it's just text with a couple illustrations every 4 or 5 pages, it might be do-able, but if it's a complex document with lots of stuff on every page, it could be tricky.
Try this link for the official converter's guide.
    http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/indesign/articles/indcs3ip_quarkmigration.pdf
Some practical tips for the beginning XPress converter that I learned the hard way...
    - Cmd-shift-click pulls stuff off the master page.
    - The lack of master anchors may limit your ability to accomplish certain master page layouts (with prelinked text boxes) that are easy to do in XPress. Everyone here will tell you to simply use the margins to control your text flow, which may or may not work well for your particular case.
    - Always scroll around a document by holding down option+spacebar. This insures that you will get the scroll hand tool every time instead of accidentally inserting a zillion spaces into your text.
-Cmd-shift-A deselects everything in a text box so that you can select another tool. There is no next/prev tool shortcut, but rather keys for each tool. (T is text, A is the white arrow, V is the black arrow)
    - You "thread frames" rather than "link text boxes" despite how I wrote this. :)
    - Don't set text wrap to effect only the stuff underneath in the prefs because...
    - All text should go in a separate layer on top of the graphics layer because...
    - InDesign dynamically resolves transparency effects at print time, which means if part of your text is layered under a transparent element it may get rasterized.
    - If you need to get text to show even when it's on top of an object with a text wrap, select the text box and check the "Ignore text wrap" option.
    - Overprint Preview is your friend. It'll help show you all those things that you didn't notice were going to print strangely before you commit them to print. (Overprinting white type, etc)
    - When you're just starting out, so is the Flattener Preview because you will start to get a feel for what is going to be bitmapped and what won't.
    - XPress documents imported into InDesign should always be exported as Adobe InDesign Interchange and reimported one more time. .inx is the equivalent of the "thumb-nail drag" trick in XPress to clean up a document that is acting funny.
    - XPress documents with placed EPS files may come in with the "Non-printing object" attribute checked on some of the EPS graphics. There's a script floating around that Dave Saunders wrote to fix this. Also, turning Overprint Preview will help you spot this (look for the disappearing objects).
    - If you are placing EPS objects, be sure to set your import options to "Render preview from postscript" or your previews won't look right and/or may be deceiving.
    - Don't every base your paragraph styles off of "Basic Paragraph Style", because if it ever changes in another document your type will suddenly change when you paste it from one document to another.
    - Don't base anything off of "Basic Object Style" for the same reasons.
    - Your defaults change whenever your change the options in a palette/panel without anything selected. Curious why every new object you draw comes in with a drop shadow or a 3pt rule, for example? You accidentally set those options with nothing selected.
    - InDesign's paragraph composer may drive you (or your proof-readers) wonky because it will change the flow of text paragraph-wide if you redo a line of text. You can either adjust it for decent text flow and leave it alone OR turn it off by basing all your stylesheets on single-line composer. People in here will largely recommend option one, but if it doesn't work for your stuff, don't be afraid to disable it.
    - Make sure to upgrade to the latest CS3 update, because CS3 v5.00 had some fairly crashy behavior.
    - If CS3 feels really sluggish, try turning off page previews in the Pages palette.
    - CS3 and OS X 10.5 are not fully compatible yet.
Best of luck! It's not really that big a change, but everything is slightly different so expect a bit of time to really get your feet under you.

  • Dnssec in combination with hostname based site-2-site vpn

    Hi Friends,
We are currently using a Cisco 887VA-K8-SEC to connect to a Cisco ASA 55XX.
This is based on hostname resolving to for example: myvpnentry.mydomain.nl
It all works fine. But i want to add dnssec verification on the Cisco 887VA to
make sure the vpn hostname resolves to a valid ip.
I have looked through many cli guides but couldn't find dnssec.
Can someone tell me if this is at all possible on a Cisco 887VA or any other
    Cisco router?
    Thanks.
    Patrick.

    Please note: I AM USING:
    JkOptions ForwardKeySize ForwardURICompat -ForwardDirectories
And that's what's supposed to fix this problem in the first place, right??

  • I received an email that asks me to verify my account because is about to expire in 72 hours. Is this legit? or fake?

Hi! I received this email today that says that my apple ID is about to expire and that I have to verify it before it expires so I clicked on the link that says "Verify now," and asks me for my credit card information and personal information just to verify my account. (and even the type of font the use is kind of strange.)

These folks are very "crafty" - clearly they use Apple images, fonts, etc. It is easy to do when the official Apple Style Guide is  publicly available to all ☞   https://help.apple.com/asg/mac/2013/ASG_2013.pdf

  • Can't someone just CALL me back about my issue?

my skype account was hacked over a year ago - I caught it that same day and all was supposed to be fixed and good. Apparently Skype locked my account though so, even though I really would like to GIVE YOU MONEY to use Skype to call phones instead of just other Skype accounts, I am unable to do so. What business DOESN'T want to accept money for their services? Apparently, Skype doesn't. I have IM'd some tech person who was no help at all. I have filled out form after form and each time I get some cheesy cut-and-paste email that my account can't be verified. Well, maybe it's because I have changed addresses since my initial account was set up (because people DO move...), or maybe it's because when my account was hacked due to your poor security, I changed my credit card to further protect myself from identity theft. Who knows. But no one can seem to take the simple customer service initiative to reach out to me and help fix this issue. Has the movie "Idiocracy" become a reality? Seriously. Why can't someone just reach out to me via a phone call to fix this...or send an email that allows a response instead of just some form letter reply.
So tired of reading "we can't verify your account" yet no details as to why are provided, and no one can be bothered to reach out in anything other than that cut-and-paste email response.

A common misunderstanding is that this public community message board and/or forum is a branch of Skype Customer Service, which it is not.  Quoting from our Community Guidelines :
    1. No direct support
Be aware that this is a peer-to-peer support community; Skype does not provide direct customer support to you via these boards. Please review the support FAQs for official latest user guides.  If you require immediate assistance directly from Skype, please contact customer service.
Please permit this clarification: nearly all of us who serve this Community as members of the Moderation Team are not authorized to access Skype accountholder records.  Requests for customer service cannot be processed by the Moderation Team.  The few Skype staff who do participate in this Community do so mostly in other capacities.
I am sure I can anticipate correctly that my post will only anger, annoy, and frustrate you further, and for this I apologize in advance.   Years ago, when I first started using Skype, a forgotten account name and its accompanying registered e-mail address pretty much guaranteed the account was lost.  At least now, there are opportunities to recover the account.
While Skype does not host a call center (which in most  cases, the agents can not place outgoing calls), you could create a new Skype account to use so that you can contact Skype Customer Service, start an instant message chat with a customer service agent, and try again to recover your first account.
Please dont' shoot me; I'm only the piano player.

  • [SOLVED] Wiki page for GPT disks and booting arch using UEFI

Hi guys, I am new to archlinux. I installed archlinux x86_64 just yesterday and I like its customisability. I also like arch wiki. Nowhere else have I seen such extensive documentation, especially about things like HAL, UDEV etc. with proper instructions. Thanks to all archers.
I have installed Archlinux x86_64 in my Dell India Studio 1537 laptop along with Windows 7 Professional x64. Both the OSes boot in UEFI-GPT setup (my UEFI is tianocore.sourceforge.net EDK DUET UEFI64 firmware booting from USB). I boot Archlinux using my own compiled grub2-bzr compiled for both BIOS and UEFI-x64. I have a 1 MB BIOS Boot Partition as required by grub2 for BIOS-GPT booting. My Archlinux system can boot both from bios and from uefi, while Windows can boot only using UEFI.
The official Archlinux installation guide talks about only MBR (or msdos disklabel) partitions and booting from BIOS based systems. With 2TB drives becoming common place and UEFI being implemented (search for Phoenix SecureCore Tiano's 1 second POST operation), I think a proper wiki page describing differences between MBR and GPT, why GPT is better, how to setup arch to boot from GPT. Another page describing steps to setup arch to boot from UEFI (either as a separate page or as an extension of GRUB2 wiki page) is also needed.
Some details regarding Pure GPT (not a Hybrid GPT/MBR setup) and/or UEFI setups :-
    Partitioning tools -
GNU Parted for filesystem related tasks
    GPT fdisk tool - http://rodsbooks.com/gdisk/ , http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/ ,  pacman -S gdisk (in extra repo) - for non-filesystem related tasks
util-linux-ng fdisk does not support GPT disks
Bootloader - GRUB2 - vanilla grub-legacy does not support GPT and does not support UEFI (Fedora's patched grub-legacy does support both GPT and UEFI) and syslinux does not support GPT (I may be wrong here - seems a gptmbr of syslinux does help in booting from gpt but not sure).
For GRUB2 - Need BIOS Boot Partition to embed GRUB2's core.img in GPT disks - size about 1 MB max - no filesystem
In GPT fdisk partition type code - EF02
In GNU Parted or GParted - bios_grub flag on
For UEFI-GPT booting this special partition is not needed as no embedding takes place. This is needed only in case of BIOS-GPT booting.
Incase of custom kernel configuration - enable CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION for GPT support
CONFIG_EFI for UEFI support (for UEFI even above option required)
CONFIG_EFI_VARS for UEFI Runtime Variables support (optional)
Note: Although GPT is part of UEFI specification, a UEFI system is not needed to boot from/use GPT. BIOS based GPT booting is possible with GRUB2 or Fedora's patched grub-legacy (but not vanilla grub-legacy provided by archlinux). It is also possible to boot Linux in UEFI-MBR setup (again using grub2) but I have not tried it.
Even without UEFI and less than 2TB harddrives, GPT based partitioning has many advantages - secondary GPT header and Partition table, CRC32 checksums. Unique Disk GUID and Filesystem-independent Unique Partition GUIDs, multiple primary partitions (default is 128 partitions, but it can be changed). The only problamatic OS is Windows which does not allow GPT booing unless one has UEFI based system. It allows only UEFI-GPT or BIOS-MBR setups. In linux it just depends on how the bootloader is configured - not a problem with grub2.
I also propose that incase of Auto-prepare Hard Drive, the installer default to GPT for "archlinux only" installs ( ie no dual-boot or triple-boot etc.).
I did not use the official archlinux iso but used archboot 2010.04 R3 as it gave an option of installing to GPT and also provided GRUB2 during bootloader install. I have never edited any wiki page before, thats why I request some one else to start a wiki page with the information given above.
I don't know whether this is the right place, but any Windows (Vista or 7 x64 versions) and Linux dual-boot user who has UEFI-based system with GPT partitioning and wants to get rid of Hybrid MBR setup (to boot Windows) can follow this post http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive … hp/t186440 (outside this forum) - this link describes the way to make Windows boot natively in UEFI-GPT setup. After doing this one can install arch using GRUB2 compiled for UEFI x86_64, and Windows will also see

Welcome to arch, skodabenz! Offering documentation on third post - all thumbs up
You could start the wiki page in your user-space with what you have, and then invite others to join working on it. Just register a wiki account, navigate to the page you want to start, for example:
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/User:skodabenz/GPT
and click on "edit this page".
As noted in the other thread, arch's legacy grub is patched for gpt support. I don't know about UEFI, but you can always open a bug report asking for the patches from fedora to be included.
edit: the page from Rod Smith is a great resource. I was absolutely terrified at first by all this screwed up GPT/MBR stuff when I tried triple-booting Arch, Win and OS x, but he really does a great job explaining what it is all about.
