Oh My Nokia 6085

Dear All,
I am really near being indespair to find out that my nokia 6085 can not be used any more. I have been visiting the nokia care Indonesia but all them seem unhelpful. The phone restricted. This phone i have bought it in the market Not from the network provider. The problem begin when I used to change the sim card with more than three providers on my device (6085). When I told the Nokia care, they have not yet done unlocking for BB5 phone. It'silly and I am being absolutely confused. They made it (Nokia) but they could not solve the problem. If any body could solve this, I really appreciate it. Thank You
Regards
Bhutocavua

It appears that the phone you bought is SIM-locked.
This surely isn't Nokia's fault - I can only assume that you bought it on a "black market", or that no one told you that phone is SIM-locked.

  • Enhancement not supported Nokia 6085..Headset prob...

I just bought a new headset (Nokia Music Headset - HS-20) for my nokia 6085 and it fits in perfectly and everything but after a few seconds a screen pops up and says "Enhancement not supported" Any ideas?

1st, on the support page of 6085 your headset is not listed as supported by your phone.
2nd are you sure that the headset is original?
see if you can return it, and ask for a different one and check in the support site

  • Nokia 6085 its support AVRCP

    Hi.
I do not obtain to control the volume of a Bluetooth Speaker through Nokia 6085.
The control functions in the Midia Player. However it does not function in the Music Player.
The 6085 do not support support AVRCP (Audio/video Remote Control Profile).
Or it would be a problem in firmware of the Music Player.
The Bluetooth Speaker functioned correctly with a Nokia and 50.
    Thanks

Figured it out myself. My bad ... )

  • New Nokia 6085 problem, is it faulty

Hi, i've just bought a Nokia 6085, i would like to change the colour of the background and fonts as i don't like wallpapers or themes, these are all possible with the phone i bought my dad, the Nokia 6103, can this be done with the 6085.
I thought the 6085 was a better fone but the pictures it takes are awful compared to the 6103 and most of the cheapest phones available, even with the maximum resolution set etc.
Is this because of a fawlty camera? as i read a review of the 6085 on the net which shows the pictures it took in the test which all seem ten times better then mine even thought they said the camera wasn't very good.
It seems like my pictures are set at a very low resolution even thought i've set it at 640 by 480 and high quailty etc.
Do you think it has a faulty camera or a poor lens, pictures bluetoothed to my phone are far better, any help or advice would be much appreciated

it normally lets you put time in scroll to right to the am or pm or manually input time
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

    Hi, Kenny.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple things that I would recommend trying.  Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device.  Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below.  If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in.  Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

  • Transfer Videos to Nokia 6085

I tried everything from converting AVI., WMV, to 3PG and MP4 and PC Suite but nothing works. All I get is audio but no video, can someone help me get videos on my Nokia 6085?

I have the same problem. Haven't seen any answers posted, although at the time I viewed your post, 372 others had viewed it as well, so I suspect this is a common problem. I've written Nokia, and if they can provide a solution, I will post it here.

  • Nokia 6085 dead battery? Does not charge! HELP!!!

After the battery of a Nokia 6085 mobile phone was fully used, the phone turned off (display off; black). Now, the battery does not seem to recharge when connected to the mains.
How to fix it? Any help most appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Update for the records (in case it may be helpful to someone):
Today, the same thing happened (the battery was exausted and the phone did not turn on after connecting to the mains via the charger). Probably the battery had been completely exhausted for a week or so.
I did as above, but this time I did not hear any sound when connecting the charger. Pressing the big metallic button did not work.
So, I also pressed the four smaller buttons-keys (located arround the big metallic one), pressing them one after the other in a row (first the top right blue selection key, then the bottom right red end key, then the  bottom left green call key, and finally the top left blue selection key). And a few seconds later the phone came to life turning on its screen! Eventually it made a noise and charged OK.
I know, I know all this is because the batery gets completely exhausted, but I usually do not use any mobile phone at all, so this is in a table drawer and sometimes I forget to recharge it. I may receive one or two calls on this phone each month or so and that is the only reason that I keep it.
As said, this is just for the records, in case it may be helpful to someone.

  • Nokia 6085 ringtone issue

    hi all,
I've got a nokia 6085 and I tried getting some of my own ringtones on to it. however, although it can play the files, it won't use them as ringtones (error message "Not allowed by activation key" and "cannot be set as ringing tone"). I tried then to convert the files using the PC Suite. when I drag and drop the files and have it convert them (either to m4a or aac - any of the bit rates) it says "unable to convert the file [file name] to mobile optimized format."
does anyone have any ideas why this occurs? I tried uploading the files as aac, m4a and mp3, all at various bit rates. the phone can play them, but it won't let me use them as ring tones.
    thank you.

  • Nokia 6085 just stopped working....

Well my three month old Nokia 6085 has stopped working.
I was texting some friends and suddenly it started to be really slow and then started going on and off and when I tried turning it back on sometimes it started and sometimes it didn't.
Now it just turns on to the start screen saying Nokia and stays there.
What is wrong and how do I fix it?
By the way, it isn't the battery. I've tried different ones and tried them in another phone and they work....

Mine worked for approx 11 minutes from new. Never even got the SIM installed. Was looking at menus.
Now it just flashes "Nokia" then white/blue/white/blue and off.
This appears to be a reasonably common fault, and I imagine it will be warrantee, however the reseller Denys any knowledge or responsibility for this. Brand new, i need to go to a customer care dealer. Nearest one..... 4 hours away.
Now the phone I purchased for the weekend trip, because my old one is nearly dead... is deader than the old one.
This is not good enough Nokia. You need to do something.

  • Nokia 6085 Does not use CA-53 cable!

I ordered a new Nokia 6085 and wanted to put all the data and stuff on my phone - it shows that the CA-53 is the cable for it. So stupid me ordered it. The cable does not even come close to fitting into the bar connection on the phone. the CA-53 is even not wide enough to accomodate the connection on the phone. Am I missing something or is my phone screwed up? The connection on the cable looks like it has only 6 small prongs on half of the connector. My phone connection is another 2 mm wider and has a full gold set accross the bar for connections. Either the literature is incorrect or my phone is different than the regular phones. HELP anyone?

    Hi Stone,
The cable you actually need is the CA-40. You can buy this from the phone shop and it will be about £15. Alternatively as your Nokia 6085 supports Bluetooth (as do most phones) you would be better off buying a USB Bluetooth adapter. The main benefit is it connects to your phone wirelessly, means less fumbling and is compatible with the vast majority of phones today, so if you change the phone you dont have to change the accessory.
Some where like AllMobilePhoneAccessories.com will sell what you need.
I have so many cables from all the different phones i've used over the years.

  • Nokia 6085 Firmware Catastrophy

This morning I attempted to update my Nokia 6085's firmware from 4.3 to 5.03. With one minute remaining in the process the phone would disconnect from the computer (Via USB) on its own and I was prompted to try again. I did as such about 3 times with the same problem happing in succession of one after the other. I restarted my computer to maybe fix the problem and now my phone doesn't work.
My Nokia 6085 phone will turn on for a moment with a white screen and will vibrate softly, then will shut down. If the phone is connected to the computer, it will be recognised, then will stop partnering with the computer.
I have no idea what to do anymore I want to flash my phone but I have no idea what to do. I've been at this doing research and trying to find a way to fix it for almost 4+ hours now and honestly I'm going to just collapse.
    Somebody, anybody, please help.

It's not possible to install old firmware yourself.
The best thing to do to solve this is to take your phone to a nokia care point and ask them to fully flash it.
If after they have done this it still doesn't work then they may offer you an older version.

No. Not this time. It's still being rolled out of the factory. It seems some batches of this phone have this kind of fault.
This tip below might be a little useful.
Try updating your phone's firmware by clicking to this link below:
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163
Make sure you meet the system requirements before proceeding and backup some of your important contents.
If the phone still does not show any improvements, I suggest you to send the phone to the Nokia Care Centre near you.

  • Nokia 6085's packet data

i just bought a nokia 6085 and when i try to connect to mxit,it says i must subscribe to packet data first.how do i subscribe to packet data?

You have to ask your provider if all the data services for phone is bundled in your contract & have them downloaded the configuration for packet services(e.g. GPRS etc) to your phone. If not, you have to subscribe to them with additional tariff.

  • Nokia 6085 and ck-15w

I don't get phonebook transferred to ck -15w from nokia 6085. Does 6085 support it? All other are working ok. Anyone having same problem?

Dont know whether you have tried it yet but on Nokia accessories support, there is a download for contacts, that you need to install into your phone. If you need further advice let me know and I will try to find out exactly where on site it is.

  • Nokia 6085 Software to Flash erase

    Hi,
I need the software to flash erase the Nokia 6085, which has got locked by the security code of the keypad lock. The security code doesn't accept any of the keys and hence is locked. I need to format it and re-install, i.e to flash erase the phone of its previous data.
I'm in India, and the software for the phone is not available here in India. Can anyone help me out?

As pyscho says, that is just not possible.
You will need to visit a Care Point and get them to remove it.
This will cost you money though as its not a warranty fault and more of a customer fault.
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

  • Spanish Nokia 6085 unable to connect to Virgin Mob...

    Hi,
I have a Nokia 6085 that I got from Movistar Spain. The mobile is now unlocked and I was intending to use it in UK with my pay-as-you-go Virgin Mobile SIM. However, the 6085 connects automatically to t-mobile, and if I try to connect manually, the list of networks provided does not include Virgin, but only: O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Orange.
It seems the mobile will just show those networks that are compatible with the roaming service for Movistar, even with the Virgin SIM inside.
Does anyone have any clues on how to remove this restriction of my movile?
    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers.

Virgin mobile (UK) uses T-mobiles network.
If you use a phone that was previously connected to another network then it will shown that you are connected t-mobile, not virgin.
But if you can make and receive calls and texts then it is working normally and you will be charged at virgins rates, not t-mobiles.
There is no way to make it display the correct name, but it's just the name that's wrong, not the network.
