I didn't mean the total number of tabs, I meant the number of tabs that are usally visible in default resolution Do you have any experience or is here any rule of thumb?

Hello,
did anyone know how to implement in code automatic number of visible categories in graph. I need to do in code something that user can do manually on graph by clicking: Right button mouse click on a vertical axis of ALV Graphics -> Format gridlines -> Scale tab -> Checkbox 'Automatic' (number of visible categories).
I need the same effect, but before first display of ALV graphics. I have to mention, that I don't implement manually the AVL Graphics. It's all default, by clicking a button on my ALV Grid.
Is it possible to change it in code?

When creating 50 files in a directory that is mounted through NFS, and doing an ls afterwards, only 40 files are listed. The number of files listed depends on the length of the file names. If the file names are longer it can happen that ls lists less files.
It appears that this behaviour is specific to the HP-UX NFS client when it accesses the 9iFS NFS Server.
Solaris, or Linux NFS clients behave correctly. Additionally, the HP-UX NFS client against another NFS server (for example an HP-UX NFS server, or a Tru64 Unix NFS server) is also behaving correctly.
This can only be seen when using NFSv3. When the 9iFS NFS directory is mounted using NFSv2, all files are listed correctly.
That's the recommended workaround.;-)

Date and number display format

Hello all,
I am new to Adobe Form, and I am quite unimpressed with how difficult it is to do the most simple things.
I have managed one way or another to solve all my problems until now, but this one got me stuck.
I have date and number fields in my form, and here is what I want to do but cannot:
- I need these fields to be displayed using the defaults date and number settings of the SAP user who is generating the form. This one is really hard for me to figure out.
- I need some other fields to be displayed in a specific format depending on a variable in the context of my form. I imagine this could be done using scripting, but how to change the display format of a field via scripting?
Anyone has an idea of how that can be achieved?

For these kind of issues you will get many answers if you search the forum.
If your requirement is to display the current date in the form, just drag and drop the "Current date" UI element from the Library palette -> Custom.
If it is to get the date from SAP and display, pass date to the context node and just drag and drop the field into the form from the data view.
Check the following wiki by Chintan. It explains some common scenarios in javascript.

Form Letter Report - How To Format Date and Number Hidden Fields

Hi
Is it possible to format date and number fields in a form letter report. This case were Paper Design shows fields as $<hire_date>. The examples in reference book only print character values which do not require formatting. I cannot determine how to achieve this. Cannot select fields from Paper Design view as per other report styles where can apply formatting. Do I have to perform formatting in the query to return date as string in format I wish for? This is not case for other report styles.

you could add a field, set the source of the field to hire_date (assuming hire_date is a column in the data model), and put a format mask of whatever format you want. then set visible to No.
then instead of &<hire_date> you can instead type &<name of your new field>.

Count from Cross TAB1 should add to Line Number in Cross TAB 2 in 1 report

Hello Friends I have 2 cross Tab1 based on 2 query data providers. I need to feed calculate the Count of Items in Cross Tab1 and add that to line Number in Cross TAB2 which sit below cross tab1
So if there are 21 items in Cross TAB1 then Line Number in Cross TAB 2 shall be 22
so do this i Created a count variable
=Count([Item ID]) In Report
which give me 21 in cross tab1 but when I drag that to cross tab2 it give junk value 179
so How do I fix this Line number Count in Cross Tab 2
Please help with code to say Count([Item ID]) In Report from cross tab1 and add Line Number to it = 22

Bullet and number styles different when viewed

I'm using RoboHelp 6 to produce a WebHelp project.
It seems like the bullet and number styles behave differently
than the other styles. There is an automatic indent, even though
Left is set to 0, and a tab. I have been able to get the View
Selected Item to look the way I want (with a hanging indent that
aligns under the tabbed text) even though it looks very different
in the WYSIWYG Editor.
With the Number style, the font size seems much larger in the
View Selected Item than it does in the WYSIWYG Editor. Is there a
way to know what the font size will be/look like to the Help user?
The number size also seems to be different if I use the Create a
Number List button or use the Number style. What is the difference
between using the style and using the button? Can I control the
number and bullet font and size?

RH doesn't always remove every piece of code when you, for
instance, select bolded characters and click the Bold toolbar
button; it often adds another SPAN tag for normal inside or outside
the bold tag!
The surest way I know to completely purge content is to
filter it through a plain text editor like Notepad:
1. In the RH topic, select the content (some paragraphs or
the entire topic).
2. Cut it (Ctrl+X).
3. Paste it into Notepad (Ctrl+V).
4. In Notepad, select and cut the content.
5. In the RH topic, paste the purged content where the old
content used to be.
Each paragraph will only get P tags assigned to it, allowing
you then to style your way through them. Of course, this
slash-and-burn method eliminates all hyperlinks, pop-ups, etc., so
plan accordingly.

Scrolling table. Getting Number of Visible rows from User Settings.

Hello everyone,
I hope you can show me the way to the light! here is my problem:
I have to control the scroll of a table, for allow to the user to see always one blank row for entry proposes.
For that I know that I can ge the number of visible rows and the first visible row through the methods:
cl_wd_table->get_visible_row_count( ).
cl_wd_table->get_first_visible_row( ).
The problem is that the user can modify the number of visible rows through the user settings in the table ( right button on the table "User Settings->more..." ) and it doesn't modify the value returned by the method cl_wd_table->get_visible_row_count( ).
How could I get the visible rows set up by the user in his user settings for control the scroll dynamically?

The changes what user will be making will be classified as personalization.
I was looking into the ways of finding the user specific personalization in the code and then callin the mthod set_first_visible_row.
There are few classes related to personalization like CL_WDR_PERSONALIZATION_SERVICE and CL_WDR_PERS_MANAGER.
I tried calling method get_pers_data of class CL_WDR_PERSONALIZATION_SERVICE. But for me it was not returning any data.
You can also look into these classes and try to fetch user specific personalized data with methods available.
Another way which I thought is to create a component configuration and make the number of rows as Final so that end user is not able to personalize this ( I know u won't agree on this ).
@ Thomas: Any specific inputs from your side on this problem.

Performance Optimization for ODS Objects:
To ensure a good ODS object loading performance, take the following into account:
 1. Creating SIDs
The creation of SIDs takes a long time and can be avoided in the following cases by:
 Not setting the indicator for BEx Reporting if you are using the ODS object only as a data store. If you do set this indicator, SIDs are created for all new characteristic values.
 If you use line items (for example, document number or time stamp) as characteristics in the ODS object, in the characteristic maintenance, indicate these as Attribute Only.
SIDs are created in parallel if parallel activation is switched on (see last point). They are then created with the same number of parallel processes as created for the activation.
However, if you specify a server group or a special server in customizing, these specifications are not only valid for the activation, but also for the SID creation. The creation of SIDs runs on the application server on which the batch job also runs.
 2. DB partitioning in active data tables (technical A table)
By partitioning by database level, you can delete data from the ODS object much more quickly. As a partitioning criterion, choose the characteristic by which you want to delete. For more information on partitioning database tables, see the database documentation (DBMS-CD). Partitioning is supported by the following databases: Oracle, DB2/390, Informix.
 3. Indexing
Use selection criteria for queries for ODS objects. If the key fields are specified, the existing primary index is used. The more frequently accessed characteristic should appear on the left-hand side.
If you did not specify the key fields completely in the selection criteria (visible in the SQL trace), you improve the run time of the query by creating additional indexes. You can create these secondary indexes in the ODS object maintenance.
 4. Activation of data in an ODS object
To improve system performance when activating data in the ODS object, you can make the following entries in Customizing under SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Business Information Warehouse -> General BW Settings -> ODS Object Settings:
 the maximum number of parallel processes when activating data in the ODS object as when moving SIDs
 the minimum number of data records for each data package when activating data in the ODS object, meaning you define the size of the data packages that are activated
 the maximum wait time in seconds when activating data in the ODS object. This is the time when the main process (batch process) waits for the dialog process that is split before it classifies it as having failed.
 the server group that needs to be used when activating the data in ODS objects in parallel You have to create the server groups beforehand using the following path: Tools -> Administration -> Network -> RFC Destination, RFC -> RFC Groups. If you do not specify anything here, then the activation runs on the server on which the batch process was started for activation. If a server from the server group is not active, then the activation is cancelled.
 5. Loading unique data records
If you only load unique data records (meaning data records with nonrecurring key combinations) into the ODS object, then the loading performance is improved when you set the indicator Unique Data Records in the ODS object maintenance.
The records are then updated more quickly because the system no longer needs to check whether the record already exists. You do have to be sure that there duplicate records are definitely not being loaded, because this will lead to termination.

JTextArea - number of visible rows

Hi,
I have a JTextArea wihch has a dynamically width and height. that is depending on the size of the window (JFrame).
I am setting the size of JTextArea with pixels via "setBounds", so I do NOT use the constructor JTextArea(width, height)
1) How do I get the number of visible rows?
Let say JTextAreas has 20 visible rows. The textfile has 60 lines.
Say, I scrolled to the middle, so 20 rows before, and 20 rows after are not visible.
2) How do I get the value 21. (I don't mean the cursor position. At this scrolled-scene, rows between 21 and 40 are displayed.)

Background:
I am trying to read the content of a very big textfile 100MB to 10GB in JTextArea.
Via "File" it is not possible to do this. Via "RandomAccessFile" it is (I think) possible.
So I will try only to read the content of the textfile which fits to the current visible part of the JextArea.

Number of visible rows

hi,
I want to display all the records of the table without restriction. Normally If I have 1000 records then the number of visible rows will be equal to the length of the table and we get scroll option to see the other records. If I want to make the number of visible rows equal to number of records is it possible?

Maximum number of Folder tabs??

Is there a maximum number of folder tabs you can have on a form? If I add 12 folders to a form (and open the form in B1), I am not able to click on any of the folder tabs past the 9th folder.
To see what I mean, open the ComplexForm sample project. In the "Adding Folder Items" section, change the number of loop iterations to 10 (or higher). Then try to click on that 10th form when you run the project.

I'm currently having the exact same problem with using more than 9 folders.
I've managed to create a new set of folders so that when clicked they now look as if they are selected however as they are not grouped with the other folders when clicked the selected folder from the other group of folders doesn't deselect. Another problem I've got is positioning the new folders so it looks as if they are in the same group as the others as currently I can place them in the correct left position however you can see where they overlap.

App Tabs are stored in sessionstore.js as part of the session data, so make sure that session restore is enabled and working.
This can be a problem with the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js .

What is the maximum number of children tabs related to one parent tab?

I have an application with several parent tabs, there are 21 children tabs related to one single parent tab. If I create the number 22 child tab, all the 22 pages related to this parent tab show an error and do not display.
The only solution is to move the 22nd child tab to a distinct parent tab with not as many children.
Is that the limit? 21 tabs per parent? Is there any way to attach more children to one parent?
I am using the grey and orange theme.

Don't think there is one. I believe it's only limited by the storage available in your account.
