OIM 11.1.1.5.0 BP02 Generic UNIX Connector Configuration Problem

I have an inquiry regarding the configuration of the Generic UNIX Connector on 11.1.1.5 of OIM. Basically, when I try to do Primary Group Recon and Shell Recon, I get an error saying:
Oracle.iam.connectors.icfcommon.exceptions.IntegrationException: The value for a key [Host] is not defined in the provided map.
I have followed the documentation of the UNIX guide connector and also created an attribute in OIM Design Console called privateKey[LOADFROMFILE] containg a value of file:\\\home\oracle\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_OIM1\server\ConnectorDefaultDirectory\SSH\config\oim_rsa.
I also tried to provisioned a user with the UNIX resource but I get an error message saying:
Running CREATEUSER
Target Class = oracle.iam.connectors.icfcommon.prov.ICProvisioningManager
<Jul 2, 2012 6:20:32 PM PHT> <Error> <ORACLE.IAM.CONNECTORS.ICFCOMMON.PROV.ICPROVISIONINGMANAGER> <BEA-000000> <oracle.iam.connectors.icfcommon.prov.ICProvisioningManager : createObject : Error while creating user

I would like to ask if there some configuration step I have missed upon which causes this error?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply! found out that I populated Connector Server with a value hence it was giving out this error. Thanks!

  • Regarding Generic Technology Connector OIM

    Hi,
With what type of resources can we use a generic technology connector (GTC) for recon and provisioning ?
Can it be used for recon/provisioning with common resources like AD, ACF2 or simply with resources like flat file, ODS ?
    Kindly reply.
    Kind Regards,
    Varun

For AD, ACF2 etc quite sophisticated OOTB connectors are already available. GTC is only for Flat File etc.
GTC is a buggy technology and not recommended to be used.

  • What is data sets, parent data, child data in generic technology connector..

    Hi All,
I am a new learner to OIM. Please try to give a brief details of data sets, child data, parent data, providers in Generic Technology Connectors..
    Thanks in advance..

    Description:
You get this error, if you are passing reserved key words to the XML Parser or the XML syntax is wrong.
    Cause:
I suppose, you are getting this error from tcImportOperationsIntf's addXMLFile() method. From your error message it looks like, when a file is submitted to XML Parser during the import operation, syntax is wrong.
    Solution:
Check the code that is generating the xml file. Easy way to test is : open the xml file in IE. If there is syntax error, IE will throw you the error.
    Hope this helps you.
    Cheers,
    Raghavendra

  • Generic technology connector and SPML problems

I'm having some trouble finding docs for my problem. What I'm trying to do is create my own spml web service (employing the new Java 6 JWS technology), which can be used by OIM by means of a generic technology connector . But no matter what I do, I can't seem to make the two communicate. I can't find any documentation explaining how to create a SOAP web service for SPML: what methods should be created, their signature, whether there is any specific WSDL that I should use to generate the Java classes and methods for the web service, etc...
I actually don't even know whether the new JWS can be used at all. Perhaps I should be using Apache Axis (or Axis2) or something else.
    Thanks.

This is what I've found in the docs:
"Each SPML request is sent in a SOAP message. The SOAP header carries authentication information for the request. The actual SPML request data is the SOAP message body. "
All I'm trying to do is create a SOAP web service (in this case with Java 6, but that's not fundamental) that can intercept that message and grab the SPML request (and then do what I have to do).
I tried with something like the following code:
    package wsspml;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    @WebService
    public class SPMLServer {
         public String processRequest(String requestData) {
but it won't work. It's like the exposed SOAP method "processRequest" is invisible. It's not being called. Perhaps the signature is wrong. I don't know what to make of it. I'm trying to understand how to grab that SPML request that's coming from OIM through the custom generic technology connector that I configured.

  • Generic LDAP Connector

    Hi,
do we have in OIM such as a Generic LDAP connector to connect
    LDAPs like OpenLdap?
    Thanks.

The traditional solution to your problem is to take the "Sun Java System Directory" connector and customize it. All the LDAP based connectors are based on JNDI so they will work fine with any LDAP v3 server.
I seem to remember that there was some talk of LDAP support in the generic technology connector framework but it doesn't look like the support is there in 9.1.
    Best regards

  • OIM 11GR2 UNIX Connector Reconcile users from UNIX inquiry

    Good Day!
I would like to ask whether there is a way in OIM that when I reconcile all new users from my UNIX server, OIM will also create the resource which this user is provisioned upon?
    Here is my scenario:
    1.) Freshly installed OIM 11GR2.
2.) Installed UNIX connector on OIM 11GR2.
    3.) Configured UNIX TRUSTED Resource
4.) Reconciled all the UNIX users into OIM. (New users are created since my OIM doesn't have any user)
5.) The problem is when the new users are now created in OIM, they don't have entitlements or accounts linked to the UNIX server which they have been pulled upon.
I would like to ask whether I need to configure something to have the entitlements/accounts linking possible?
If not, what are the ways I can achieve this?
The only way I can think of is have the UNIX users be created in a flat file first then load via GTC then have reconciliation to have OIM to link these users to UNIX which I believe should be able to do the scenario I am asking upon.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jeff

By the way, checking target resource recon by default will not create new users when OIM is not able to establish a link.
In my case, OIM doesn't have any users since this is a fresh install hence even running target resource at start will won't create the new users in OIM right?
    based from this:
"You configure application (AD, OID, OVD, HR) etc in Target Resource Mode if that OIM is source of truth for user provisioning (All users are created in OIM and OIM then provision accounts in Application. Any changes in Application are reconciled back to OIM)."

  • Question about 'Generic Database Connector'

    Hi SAP IdM Gurus,
I found 'Generic Database Connector' in the list of SAP NW IdM connectors overview.
I'd like to check the capability of this connector in detail.
I'm wondering whether it could provide not only  a connectivity of RDBMS, but also custom-developed application using the RDBSM for their ID/Password repository. If it provides only a connectivity of RDBMS, Is there a connector for the custom-developed application using the RDBSM for their ID/Password repository?
My question is that which connector is used for the connectivity  of custom-developed application using the RDBSM for their ID/Password repository.
I would really appreciate it if you could answer the question.
    Thanks
    Kenneth

    Kenneth,
The Generic Database connector uses a JDBC connection and allows for the and writing to databases.
That being said, you can also use this connection to set up access to the system or drop access using SQL commands and set them up per the framework.
What specific Database are you working with?

  • PPD's have Generic unix icon

    Hello,
I have a few machines (Intel iMacs) running 10.5.4. The PPDs were copied over from a Mac Volume on an windows server to the new machines. The PPDs are not .gz files they have that generic UNIX executable icon. I opened them up with text edit and re-saved them but they still have that UNIX "exec" icon.
    Questions:
    1) Does this make a difference to the OS or Apps selecting and using the PPD?
    2) What's the best way to get them into the .gz format and the proper icon.
I spoke to Quark and they said it didn't make a difference but I'm not completely buying that because I can't print from Quark 8. Quark 6.5 prints but nothing from 8. I put the PPDs in the folder that 10.5 needs to see them but no go, I'm just wondering if the fork information is causing this problem. Thanks in advance.
    Rick

    Greg,
Thanks for the information, I'll try the cupstestppd command thanks!
The quark folks said that it's possible that the Apps that do work with the PPDs may not be actually opening them and just using the generic PPD. Quark actually opens the PPD and uses them. We can print from all Adobe and Apple apps using the PPDs in the print set window. Wouldn't that be using the PPDs? Anywhere I can read up on this stuff?
    Thanks again,
    Rick

  • Generic LDAP Connector used against AD

I am trying to use the generic LDAP connector to provision to a development AD. The only port available is 389 so the AD MA cannot be used because it requires 88 for Kerberos.
The generic LDAP hangs during configuration after the Configure Anchors screen.  The release notes say that it will work against 3389 on a GC.
Is there some special set of choices to configure this to connect to Active Directory?
    Randy

I let the process run for about an hour and the MA create wizard moved to the next step. It took about an hour on the last property panel of the create wizard as well. The configuration was limited to just the Users container and only the user object type
and only a handful of attributes.

  • "Batch" type script - maybe generic UNIX question!

    Hey peeps,
We just set up an email filter on Solaris 9, which has 20MB of configuration files that need backing up on a regular basis. What I would like is a short executable script which does the following:
tar -cf the config files into a tar file, named conf-backup-DATE.tar with todays date.
open an ftp connection, with a specified username and password
"put" the tar file on the ftp server
    disconnect from the ftp server
I think this is more of a generic UNIX question than a Solaris question, but I don't know any more about UNIX than I do about Solaris anyway!

Your script defines functions which will enable you to invoke the backup. But this script only defines functions. You need to invoke them for your backup to work. The sample invocation can look like this (CODE NOT TESTED!!!):
    Setup
    Initialize
    Gethottblspace
    BeginHotbackup

Am trying to deploy the UNIX connector for OIM. The connector is deployed to connect to Red hat Linux 3.0 but am having difficulties in confinguring ssh. Am using the documetation provided by the connector. But when i try to test for connectivity it is always asking for the passphrase and sometimes the root user password

  • Generic technology connector

How do i delete a generic technology connector in IDM ?
    I can see manage , create .... How do I delete one ? :)
    Cheers
    S.

Everything can be done at DB level. That's too obvious. Usually we do DB Backup.
But its not recommended. Anyway you are always open to R&D and it would be good if you can find a solution and share it for other users as well.

    Hi,
My requirement is to display information with a custom query (display info from P0008) in the General Information.
For this, we have chosen to work with Generic iViews.
I have followed the following links:

The problem i am facing is with Launching the iView Wizard and General Information provided in the 1st link. I am not able to continue with the pointsd under Portal Content Administration
    Thanks,
    Pinki

    Hi Siddharth,
Thanks for the reply. But my query was not regarding ESS in MSS.
Its about Generic iViews where you can fetch data using custom queries and user groups and display the same in the general information. I have attached the link provided by SAP below. There are mainly 3 parts to the config:
    1. Creating of custom query.
    2. Using FPM to add the generic iview for list to the perspective of the FPM appl of General information.
    3. Then creating the WD iview of the added view within General information from content Admin and then adding the WD page to the General information page.
This is my comprehension of the steps provided. However there is one of the link within the Portal Content Admin that does not work.
Please find the link from help.sap.com below:

I am wondering what is causing that error to be thrown and whether if performance of the LDAP reconciliation is affected by this error.

Any updates i am facing same problem.
