OIM 11g OIm & soa server

Hi All,
I installed OIM11gr2 on RHEL x64.I tried to assign roles to users ,aprrovals been sent to xelsysadm.I'm trying to approve pending approvals and oim is trying soa server on ssl port 8002 instead of non-ssl port 8001
On soa_server1,I'm getting message as below.
UNKNOWN_CA alert received from 192.168.14.2 - 192.168.14.2. The peer is rejecting the certificate chain as being untrusted or incomplete.
Kindly let me know how to make oim server to contact soa server on non-ssl port.
Regards,
Krish.

  • OIM and corporate SOA server

    Our lead architect would like for OIM to use our corporate SOA cluster instead of the server that is installed with OIM 11g. I don't remember much about the OIM install to know if this is even an option.
    Anyway, what do you guys think? Good idea or not?

    We have a small UI which is a cut-down version of the OIM UI (change password, reset password) that we can expose to the Internet. This uses the OIM Java API. I doubt we would use any SPML. That's the only piece of code that's running outside of OIM. The SOA server would be used just for approval workflows.
    I think my architect is just trying to get all of the SOA stuff in one place, having it clustered and fault tolerant (not that OIM won't be). I just don't get the advantage of that over issues like potentially having to patch/upgrade OIM and this SOA server at the same time and the fact that if the OIM SOA is down it's likely that OIM is down also whereas that's not the case with a separate SOA server. Not sure what havoc that will cause.
    I was hoping that someone would come back and say it cannot be done! So, if it can be done then has anyone done this, why, and how is it working out?

  • OIM 11g r2: SOA  workflows for two level approval.

    HI Experts,
    I am using SOA workflows in OIM 11g r2. The requirement is to have a two level approval for a role (which provisions Oracle DBUM connector at present) : first for Manager and second for the Role owner.
    I have created and deployed the composite with name AddAccessApproval but need to find how to use this for two level approval.
    There is option for serial approval but how to pass it to Role owner.
    Any help in this regard is appreciated.
    Many Thanks,
    Arvind

  • [OIM 11g] OIM Default Language

    Hi Gurus,
    My OIM 11g default language is set to US, this is no problem when using the application.
    All of the notifications were being sent in English, I know that updating the users profile and setting the locale and GMT the notifications are sent in the users language.
    What I need to know, is how I can set the locale and GMT when the users identity is being created?
    Thanks in advance,
    Carlos

    You need to populate two attributes in the USR table, USR_TIMEZONE and USR_LOCALE.
    Ex.: If you are in Brazil then USR_TIMEZONE could be 'America/Sao_Paul' and USR_LOCALE 'pt-BR'.
    This way, OIM knows in what language to send notifications to the user.
    Try doing this through API usage, instead of updating the table.

  • OIM 11g: OIM User "Notes" field

    Does anyone know if anything has changed from 9.1x to 11g with regard to the Users.Note attribute? We have a unit test that reads and tries to set "Users.Note" via the tcUserOperationsIntf.updateUser() method. This test works fine against OIM 9.1x, but fails against OIM 11g with a tcAPIException with the message that "Users.Note" is not a valid attribute name. The Users.Note field is defined as a field lookup and exists in the database (USR_NOTE), so I'm wondering what changed.
    Any ideas?

  • How to retrieve Request Form Data in OIM 11g for SOA workflows

    Hi,
    I have a business requirement wherein, I need to retrieve a field's value inside my SOA composite for further processing and decide on the Approver of the Request. Say for e.g. I'm having a field *"Country"* inside my Request Form, and what i need to do is, as soon as the request form is submitted, I need to retrieve the value for *"Country"* attribute inside my SOA Composite using Payload, and further process it. This scenerio is with respect to provision an application instance to a user.
    Now, in a similar scenario, where I was trying to create a user of type *"Contractor"*, I had used Request Service Api to retrieve the Basic information of the userform submitted, and decide on approval. Fortunately, the basic data like, First Name, Last Name, Login etc was successfully being fetched from the Request and I was able to perform further operations.
    Unfortunately, the same code which was working for Creation of a User, is not working when I'm trying to provision an application instance to the user.
    Below is the code which worked fine for me to retrieve basic request data for user creation, and isn't working for provisioning application instance:
    RequestService reqSvc = (RequestService)oimClient.getService(RequestService.class);
    String reqId = ((oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement)getVariableData("inputVariable", "payload", "/ns3:process/ns4:RequestID")).getText();
    System.out.println("request ID: " reqId);+
    Request req = reqSvc.getBasicRequestData(reqId);
    List <RequestEntity> targetEntities = req.getTargetEntities();
    System.out.println("targetEntities : " targetEntities);+
    System.out.println("------------");
    for (RequestEntity rea : targetEntities)
    +{+
    List <RequestEntityAttribute> attributes = rea.getEntityData();
    for( oracle.iam.request.vo.RequestEntityAttribute attribute : attributes)
    +{+
    System.out.println("Attribute.getName() : " attribute.getName().toString());+
         if(attribute.getName().equals("User Manager"))
         +{+
    beneficiaryManagerKey = attribute.getValue().toString();
         System.out.println("User Manager : " beneficiaryManagerKey);+
    +}+
         e+lse if(attribute.getName().equals("User Login"))+
         +{+
    userid = attribute.getValue().toString();
         System.out.println("User Login  : " userid);+
    +}+
    +}+
    +}+
    Any pointers to this would be of a great help.
    Regards

    List <RequestEntity> targetEntities = req.getTargetEntities();
    System.out.println("targetEntities : " + targetEntities);
    System.out.println("------------");
    The above piece of code retrieves the attributes and their values from the request form while creating a user, but not from the request form, which provisioning a resource to a user.

    I noticed some of the authorization policy have menu item. But when I try to create one it never does. Is this result of porting 9.1.0.2 policies by Oracle application. Example, AssignRole policy.
    Kind Regards
    Maria

    Is there a way to hide some of the tabs, links instead of disabling them through authorization policy?

  • How to provision users to diffrent OU in OIM 11g(OIM configured with LDAPS)

    HI All,
    we have a requirment to create users in diffrent OU in OID based on the type of the user.
    During user creation, if we select usertype as Employee then user should be created under OU=EMployee,dc=domain,dc=com, if we select usertype as Contractor then user should be created under OU=Contractors,dc=domain,dc=com. how do i configure this? i treid modifiying LDAP container rules, but it dint work, can you please help me on this.
    Thanks

    In addition to setting LDAP container rules, i had to create an eventhandler and use another field (locality name for example) to make this work. If you have more than one ldap container there is bug in OIM code becuase of which some containers don't get set. Meaning if you have one user type mapped to unique ldap container you will be fine with the suggestion above. If you have multiple user types mapped to one ldap container, and you have many such combinations some ldap containers don't get set. the following code worked for me:
         if (userRole != null) {
              if (userRole.equalsIgnoreCase("Full-Time Employee") ||
                                            userRole.equalsIgnoreCase("Part-Time Employee") ||
                                            userRole.equalsIgnoreCase("Consultant") ||
                                            userRole.equalsIgnoreCase("Internal System Accounts")) {
              userType = "Internal";
              } else if (userRole != null && userRole.equalsIgnoreCase("OIM System Accounts")) {
              userType = "System";
              } else {
              userType = "External";
         orchestration.addParameter("Locality Name", userType);
    Hope this helps,
    Prasad.

  • DB quries wrt migration from oim 9.1 to oim 11g (11.1.1.5)

    Hi All,
    We have to do migration from oim9.1 to oim 11g (11.1.1.5) with new DB and AppServers.
    High level Steps are as follows
    1. import the existing OIm9.1 DB to new DB.
    2. Create Additional schemas (SOA,MDS) on new DB.
    3. Install OIm 11g and SOA applications on new servers
    4. Migrate new DB's OIm 9.1 Schema to support oim 11g (by running Oracle_IDM_Home/bin/ua.sh)
    5. Some other releated tasks (As mentioned in the upgrade guide)
    6. Migrate OIM application middlte tier
    7. Other tasks (As mentioned in the upgrade guide)
    Our requirement is
    Step 1, we have to import DevDB data to new tempDB and will proceed with new tempDB for migration.
    Then after, we wanted to import the tempDB to NewDevDB and then wanted to replace newDevDB data(which is imported from tempDB) with QA DB's data (its QA oim 9.1 DB). (We have limitations to take QADB at first time itself, thats why, we are taking Dev DBdata in step 1).
    My questions are
    1. What are the required changes required for Moving oim11g DB to another DB (by dumping the same DB).
    2. After, performing the migration, can we dump only the OIm 9.1 DBdata(QA) to OIm 11g DB? if yes, will it affect the oim 11g DB Schema.
    Please suggest me, or do let me know, if you need any other information.
    Thanks.

    I think, I can consider my Question #1 is as equal to Oracle Identity Manager Database Host and Port Changes, So I can use the steps mentioned in the link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e14308/handlinglcm.htm#CIAJBHHH (Section: 13.1.1 Oracle Identity Manager Database Host and Port Changes). Do we need to do any additional modification with in any configuration files? Please, can any one confirm it.
    And Can any one help on my question #2.

  • OIM 11g Server Configuration Wizard Error - Cannot Connect to Oracle DB

    I appreciate any and all suggestions or thoughts on how to best continue troubleshooting this error that I am describing below.
    I am attempting to install Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite 11g on a Windows 7 machine…in following the installation guides I have successfully installed the following Oracle Components
    - Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
    - Created Schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3
    - Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3.0
    - Oracle SOA 11.1.1.2.0
    - Oracle SOA 11.1.1.3.0 (Patch Set)
    - Oracle IAM SUITE 11.1.1.3.0
    Following the above installations, I created a new WebLogic Domain and as the next step am running the OIM Configuration Wizard to configure the OIM Server, however I am unable to setup a connection to the Oracle DB via the OIM Configuration Wizard. I am getting an error message when attempting to setup the connection to the Oracle Database using the OIM 11g Server Configuration Wizard:
    ERROR:*
    INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
    *+[DETAILS] Check the values. Make sure the Database is up and running and connect string, user name, and password are correct.+*
    INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
    *+[DETAILS] Check the values. Make sure the Database is up and running and connect string, user name, and password are correct.+*
    When installing the Oracle Database 11gR2 I used the following install configuration:
    Oracle base: C:\MyApps\Oracle
    Software location: C:\MyApps\Oracle\DB_HOME\11.2.0\dbhome_1
    Database file location: C:\MyApps\Oracle\DB_HOME\oradata
    Database Edition: Personal Edition (3.27 GB)
    Character Set: Unicode (AL32UTF8)
    Global database name: orcl.dev.com
    Administrative Password: Password1
    Confirm Password: Password1
    When creating my Schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3 I used the following Database Connection Details
    DB TYPE: Oracle Database
    HOST NAME: localhost
    PORT: 1521
    SERVICE NAME: orcl.dev.com
    USERNAME: sys
    PASSWORD: Password1
    ROLE: SYSDBA
    I used a Prefix of “DEV” when creating the schemas so Schema Owners DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS where created. Also, I configured to use the same password for all Schemas: “Password1″. So the password for DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS should be the same, “Password1″.
    REPRODUCING THE ERROR
    To reproduce the error, when I launch the Oracle Identity Management 11g Configuration Wizard I am first brought to the “Welcome” Screen. I click the [Next>] button.
    Next, I am on the “Components to Configure” screen where I select OIM Server and OIM Design Console and click the [Next>] button. (NOTE I have also tested by simply selecting only the OIM Server)
    Next, I am on the “Database” screen where I enter the connection information
    Connection String: localhost:1521:orcl.dev.com
    (NOTE I have also tested using localhost:1521:orcl)
    OIM Schema User Name: DEV_OIM
    OIM Schema Password: Password1
    MDS Schema User Name: DEV_MDS
    MDS Schema Password: Password1
    When I click the [Next>] button after entering the Database Connection details I encounter the following two errors (1 error for each logon DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS)
    INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
    INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
    TROUBLESHOOTING
    NOTE: I can successfully start the Oracle DB Services and connect via the Enterprise Console, SQL Plus, and JDBCTest Java Client…I just cannot get past this connection error in the OIM Server Configuration Wizard.

    Whenever installing oracle databases, i install the software only first. Then i setup the listener. Then i create a database instance using the dbca tool. This way all the information is added to the pre-existing listener configurations rather than trying to create the listener afterwards. Also, during the dbca database creation, i supply a full service name such as orcl.hostname and use the service name in future configurations where it asked. This usually solves any issues of the listener or database not being found correctly.
