OIM 11gR2PS1 - Catalog customization -Tagging on Application Category

Hi All,
I am looking for "how to tag attribute for catalog search". I came accross scenario where i have to do catalog search based on attributes other than "Role", "Application Instance" and "Entitlement" which are provided as OOTB by default form catalog sync job.

I found out that tagging capibility of OIM catalog can be used for search customization without doing any ADF in JDev or Sandbox UI customization.
But still i didnt get how to tag particular attribute through catalog administratot role.
Please provide any input which is helpful for this scenario. Any doc or blog with proper screenshot of the same will be very useful to understand.

If I understood your query correctly, You can login as the catalog admin into identity self service. Then search for the name of the app instance/role and click on the desired role/app instance. After that you can add your own tag in the User Defined Tags text box. Click on Apply. You can search with the specific tag you have added instead of the name of the app instance/role. It will work. Also in the API's you can pass this tag as the search criteria to identify the specific entity. Hope this helps

  • MSS Reporting - Cannot choose Manager's Desktop Application Category

    Dear experts,
    I need to add reports to Reporting in mss. I am trying to custom Reports in launchpad (fpb_launchpad_cust). I can see the reports in folder. However, I can't  add new application under Manager's Desktop Application Category.
    Is there any other configuration i need to do?
    We are using SAP Netweaver Portal 7.0 and ecc6.

    Solution:
    1. In the SAP HCM System choose:
    SAP Easy Access Menu
    Transaction SE38
    2. In the ABAP Editor: Initial Screen enter the Program FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES and choose Execute.
    3. In the Report FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES screen select the MSS Reporting and MSS with Folders options and deselect the checkbox Test Run.
    4. Choose Execute. The sample entries are entered in the Report Launchpad in the portal.
    5. Log on to the portal with User manager1 and check if the sample entries are displayed.
    6. In the ECC system leave the transaction and go back to the SAP Easy Access Menu.
    7. Enter transaction PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA in the Command field.
    8. In the Report to convert MDT table entries to LPA table entries screen, enter the MDT Scenario RPT0 and deselect the Test run checkbox.
    9. Choose Execute. The list in the next screen shows the reports which have been added to the Report Launchpad.

    How can i run a jsp tag library application.I have written the code and i did the packaging deployed in the tomcat.I tried to run the application.It is saying some jar file is not there.What should i do.

    Let's say the name of the stick is "PenDrive"...
    1. copy the the itunes media folder to the pen drive. The iTunes media folder is the one that contains the sub-folders of Music, mobile Applications etc. let's say your iTunes media folder is called "iTunes Media"
    2. open iTunes. On the menu, click "iTunes", "Preferences...". Click the "Advanced" tab. Change the iTunes library location in the field at the top (I think you can browse for it). When you have it set, it should read "/Volumes/PenDrive/iTunes Media".
    3. The other iTunes files, like the database, should stay on your Macintosh HD.
    4. Once you do this, ALWAYS make sure the pen drive is mounted BEFORE you start iTunes, otherwise it will revert to the media folder on Macintosh HD and you will have to do step 2 again.

  • Reg customization tag in netuix-config.xml

    In <netuix-config.xml> we can set the customisation tag to false. But when i set it so, build and create a desktop in admin consolde, when i view the desktop , page is not getting loaded. But am able to run it thru .portal file(file based).
    But when i give customisation as true and localisation both with true and false is working fine(desktop page is coming).
    Any idea what went wrong?

    That customization tag has to be set to true be able to be able to view a desktop created in the admin console (whether that desktop is customized or not).
    Another way of looking at the tag is that it tells the framework whether to use the database or not. If the setting is false, then the database is not used, and the system will only process .portal/.book/.page/.portlet files on the file system.

  • How to customize Database Tables Application Connector to OIM

    Anybody know whether is it possible to customize Database Tables Connector that it could be used to make reconciliation to any table in OIM schema (not only to USR table, that is default)?
    I have reviewed config xml files but did not found any entry that could be used to achieve this.

    Hi,
    The custom DB App table connector is used to reconcile identities or account information from the target tables. So when you create a GTC connector this process will create all OIM objects for you (Resource Object, Process, Recon rules etc).
    You need to look into deploymenmt document for 'GTC DBApp Tables Connector'. look into the following link for section : "3 Creating the Connector".

    Remember as not to create this as connector for 'trusted mode'. This connector will replicate all the tables from the target to OIM and reconcile data what you want to these tables. But this data will behave as a 'Account for the User', so you need to make sure that you have some unique matching attribute at the target tables as well to link this account to OIM user.
    I recommend you to go thorugh the deployment doc and see what is created in OIM. This will make it more explicit.

    2. I want to make a different Directory menu, possibly by implicating a custom Applications menu. If I could locate the .menu file for the Directory menu panel item, I would like to make minor adjustments to the menu, and invoke it through the Applications menu panel item.
    I should state that what I'm trying to accomplish is
    a) to remove the submenu-like options with the Directory menu (open Folder, open in Terminal) to have one-click to open the folder directory
    b) to add a label next to the panel icon (aesthetics), which would be accomplished through using the Applications menu panel item.

    Firstly, I'll tackle menu 1.
    No need to create an include line for every .desktop file. Do the following:
    $ mkdir ~/.config/menus
    $ cd ~/.config/menus
    $ touch custom-apps.menu
    Edit the file we have just created and populate it with the following:

    Now just create an application menu panel item and point it to the custom menu file we just created.
    This will display every application installed on your system, and any custom .desktop entries you may create (as long as they are set in one of the categories in the menu file). Add or remove categories as you need.
    If you want to have the "Run Program" and other "Action" items that are in the default Xfce menu, add a category line for "X-Xfce-Toplevel"
    Alternatively, you can forego all the <Category></Category> lines and simply use <All/>
    [EDIT] and since this is using garcon (Xfce's menu library), the apps will be in alphabetical order [/EDIT]

  • OIM Menu Item Customization

    I am trying to customize name of a new Menu Group and Item in OIM xlWebApp.
    I added it in design console and assigned it to a group. I am able to see the menu item on left.
    ->menuGroup.Help-Desk
    * menuItem.Help-Desk.Lookup
    I added lines in xlWebAdmin,xlWebAdmin_en_US,xlWebAdmin_en properties files
    menuGroup.Help-Desk=Help Desk
    menuItem.Help-Desk.Lookup=Lookup
    I deployed the ear file to oimserver/xellerate and ran patch_jboss.sh
    Restarted jboss.
    But still I see
    ->menuGroup.Help-Desk
    * menuItem.Help-Desk.Lookup
    instead of
    ->Help Desk
    * Lookup
    Is there something I need to take care of still?

    I tried replacing JBOSS directory, but it didn't work and didn't properly deploy the application. That may be because some other reason.
    But changing the properties in DDTemplates and using patch_jboss.sh renamed the links. Thank you.
    In addition, can we add external site link in xlDefaultAdmin.properties for the menuItem?
    Just to let you know what I did.
    Added .link in xlDefaultAdmin.properties and it shows

  • OIM 11g R2 - Provisioning to DB Application Table

    I have installed a DB Application table connector installed. I create a new GTC provisioning resource with parent and child table. It created the form for me automatically.
    Here is what my form looks like
    Parent Table Columns: user_id, department
    Child Table columns: user_id, role
    I have specified user_id in child table as a foreign key from the parent table. Once the forms are created I went to /sysadmin UI and create a new Form from Form Designer (request dataset in R1). It recognizes the parent and child relationship. Then I went an created a application instance with that form so that I can request it using a catalog. When I request the resource using the catalog, it provisions the user to parent table fine but does not provision it to the child table. Is there something I have to do extra to provision it to the child table? I've done this setup in R1 and it works fine without customizing anything other then creating a dataset.

    Did you add any value in Child Data Set while submitting the request ?
    I heard that there's some issue with Child Form Reconciliation but provisioning works fine (for one element)

  • Save Catalog and Tags etc,as I want to uninstall PSE6, then re-install

    I have just used the "Backup and Restore" in Pse 6 and backedup to an external F drive.But I didn;t put it into a special folder. Will I have trouble Restoring it, when I re-install pse6 back on the computer. Will it restore the catalog etc as it was before, tagged and catagorized? I have about 10.000 photos in the catalog..    Or do you suggest I use the "Backup and Restore" function again, only this time creating a folder for it..before sending it to the external F drive.   I have plenty of room on the external drive.   I look forward to a response

    If the 2nd option is the way to go, I will then have to delete the first backup from Ex F drive, how will I know what to delete. How will I recognize it, as the EX F drive is structured to backup  other files outside of PSE6.

              but do you mean I can uninstall pse than reinstall pse, and all my catagorized and tagged photos will remain the same.
    Also the reason I want to uninstall both pse and premier elements, and a few other things is, as recently I tried to delete a few files I thought were not needed, I think I deleted something important, because I could not get just the organizer to open.  I have since been able to open it by renaming it from thumb.5.cache to old.5.cache.  But since then a few more problems have arisen. Like when using Premier el 4 to make a movie, it's very slow. and not recognizing myDVD burner .  It has more in it's name now. Like HL-DT-ST  DVDRAM  GH20NS10  ATA Device.  I'm sure it didn't have the DVDRAM written there before.  When I go to Burn to Disk it won't recognize either the DVD drive or the Inserted DVD.    Everything has changed so I though I would remove both programs completly from computer then re-install them to see if that may help

    There are permissions you can set to allow specific user groups to see the menu items. I'm not sure the specific names, but take a look at the permissions lists when you select a group and then the permissions drop down.
    User's must also be an end user administrator to login to the design console.

  • SCCM application catalog cannot connect to application server

    Hi all,
    We have SCCM 2012 SP1 deployed. When we try to connect to the Application Catalog we are unable to and get an error that says unable to connect to the application server. The related roles were uninstalled and re-installed, so the configuration is correct.
    We have a C drive and an I drive. The I drive is where all content is stored for when we deploy packages. 
    I am wondering if having the two separate drives is causing the issue or if it could be something else. Any thoughts? Any one else do the same as us?

    Having two drives will not cause you any issue. You will need to dig into the log files to see what is going on.
