OIM Provisioning - Update target field just under condition

Hello Experts,
I need support to modify my SAP Target Provisioning.
This is my scenario:
- userA has a Resource SAP ECC.
- I need that the 'Valid Through' field cannot be update if the SAP ECC resource is in status 'Disabled'.
Is it possible?

At the moment the task that set our "Valid Through" atribute is linked to an adpter (type process task) that contanis just a "SET VARIABLE".
We need to introduce an IF condition linked to the SAP Resource Status (Es. if the status is not 'Disabled'-> set variable).
How can we do it using Design Console > Adapter Factory?
If, into the Adapter, I add a new Util Task -> Oracle Identity Manager API, I can use an OIM Api method, but is not clear how to save the result value into an adapter variable..
Could you give us some hints?

I need to capture and create target segments only for the values "AF "disc-rsn"".And pass all the relavant rows (RK,KE,DF...) which are under "AF "disc-rsn"" to the target fields.
I'm struggling to parse the value to the output structure as RK,KE,DF will be present under anywhere like "AF drs", "AF disc-rsn" etc.
I'm able to create the target segments (2 Zdisc segments as 2 "AF disc-rsn" present in the file), but unable to parse the field values to the target fields.
Ex: DF phone-2 is present in 8th, 15th,22nd row. I need to pass only 8th and 22nd rows to the target fields.
After content conversion, My Source XML looks like below.

Field validation under condition

Hi,
I need to perform the following task:
I have a selectOneMenu by which I can select the role of a user. If the selected role is A, then other fields F1, F2 and so on are mandatory; if the selected role is B instead, then the above fields F1, F2,.... are not mandatory.
So: if I select role A and I have not specified the value for, say, F1 a "value required" message should appear near the F1 fields as I press the submit button. If I select role B, no checks over fields F1,... have to be performed and the form is submitted.
I can I do that ?

Well the controls used in a JSF page are going to be render as ordinary html controls, and you could still use Javascript but there are other ways of doing it when working with JSF... I just can't help you as I've never worked with JSF.

Hi Suneel,
Normally you would want to load data for an InfoObject, so if you are not, the system just warns you. Like you also get warning when adding or removing nav attr from an InfoObject. Even if you are doing that for a reason, the system will prompt with warnings before activating the object.

Syndicate depending on condition to a target field

HI,
I am a scenario where I need to syndicate out the value depending up on the condition:
Source:
Remote System --AAA
value1---111
valu2---- null
Another record:
Remote System --BBB
value1---333
valu2----444
Target has two fields: System and Value
Condition is : When ever remote system is BBB then I need to pass value2 to Target Value field any thing else I need to pass Vlaue1 value to Value target field...
Is this possible in MDM Syndication?

Yes it is possible in MDM 7.1 version
create two seprate map for each system (AAA,BBB) i.e. and set condition on each system
follow the the which may help you
1. Create field to field Map
2. In Map Properties Tab ---> Remote Key Over ride (AAA) & tiick suppress unchaged records
3. Specify Value1 = 111 and Value2= Null in free form serach
4. SAve map by selecting Remote System in our case it would be AAA
5. Give Map name & Save
follow same step for remote system BBB it will work
Note : Based on your Condition set in free form serach mapping will execute accordingly for perticuler system

6 IF-THEN and OR conditions for one target field mapping

Hi Mapping experts,
I have a validation condition involving 2 source fields and 1 target field only, however the number of conditions is 6 (OR)
Source Fields:
TYPE
PONUM
Target Field:
BELNR
If TYPE = 1st value   then   BELNR = PONUM substring (0, 8) 0=start position, 8=character count
OR
If TYPE = 2nd value   then   BELNR = PONUM substring (2, 8)
OR
if TYPE = 3rd value then BELNR = PONUM substring (4, 8) .......... up to the 6th Validation Condition.
When I do this using graphical mapping only (multiple IF-THEN and OR's) the validation is successful only on the 1st IF-THEN statement, then it passes the substringed value to the 1st OR function.....    When I "Display Queue" the 1st OR function the substringed value is taken as null (or:in1 <null>) Is this because OR function is expecting Input as "True or False" value only and not a string value?
For my requirement above, can I achieve this using graphical mapping only?    or do I have to use UDF for this?
If it's better to use UDF for this, would anyone give me a jumpstart on the code? (I have no experience yet in UDFs)

I use Apple TV's screen saver with a file in my photo library. If I install newest update - will that change anything with my using this favorite feature? I have just under 4000 photos in that file. What is the total # of photos it can utilize?

Thank you Alan and know you are right. I really can do all I need with my netbook and ereader and do not need the ipad. I think I just wanted something new and felt I may enjoy using it a lttle more than the netook. But it would be a waste just to buy one when I donlt acutally need it And, donl't think it is worth the extra money for me the get the 4g wireless capability since I doubt I would really need it often.
I may treat myself to the Ipad for the color, touchpad and fun to use but it is very expensive considering how little it will do for me no more than the things I want it for. It woudl be and expensive luxuray, I can do without. I actually need t learn how to use more of the function avaiable first. Maybe I should take up playing games and learning to take digital pictures so I can at least load them. If I could learn to do that and take a decent picture, I could start selling back all the "stuff" I have purchased on ebay. haha - I do have a nice doll collection, I would like to sell. I just do not have room for anything else. That was the primary purpose for the Kindle Ereader I bought and enjoy so much,
But, I will hold onto the thought for a while and see how it goes and what other comments I get, If I think I cannot live without it, then I will have to rethink which one to buy, I coud get the 32 g if I did not have to pay for the 4g wireless. And, if I knew I could get help to teach me how to use and enjoy all the functions, I would give it more serious consideration. My granddaugther got one for Christmas and that was what got me interested in it. I love the size of the screen and it had good color and was fast. She even had an application where she could write her notes and it would convert into typed words. That was a neat feature, If you could print it?

Updating target tables....

Hello,
I am actually in quite a predicament. I need to update a table from a view. The table has 3 columns(*col1, col2,col3*) initialized as NULLs in all the records noting that the other columns have data inside...... So what I basically do is the following:
I map the view columns to the table and the click on the table in order to view the table operator properties then set the loading type to UPDATE. Then under conditional loading in the Target filter for update I insert the following condition:
( INOUTGRP1.*col4* IS NOT NULL ) which shows a successful validation.
Taking into consideration that the Match by Constraints is choosen to be NO_CONSTRAINTS...
After that I click on col1, col2 and col3 respectively in order to set the Match column when updating row to Yes....
Unfortunately, these warnings appears saying the following:
+VLD-2753: All mapped attributes are used in matching criteria in 15_REC.
It will be a meaningless update action if all the attributes that are mapped are used for matching. The update statement will select the rows which satisfy the match condition and update it with the same values. Specify at least one mapped attribute of MY_TABLE to be used for updating by setting Update Use for Matching to No : ( COL1 COL2 COL3).+
+VLD-2761: Unable to generate Merge statement.
Merge statement cannot be generated because column COL4 is used for both matching and update. A matching column cannot be updated in a merge statement.+
So if anyone has any kind of idea please help as soon as possible.... Since this is actually urgent....

Well the columns that I want to update are col1, col2 and col3 ..... I don't want to match any column between the view and the table I just want the carry on the update under the condition that table1.col1, table1.col2 and table1.col3 are set to NULL....

LSMW - The source field is longer than the target field in MEK2

Hi,
I tried to create a simple LSMW script to end date condition records using MEK2 transaction.
I provide Condition type, Plant, Material, Start Date and default Valid from and Valid to dates.
When the program is generated, it defines just 1 character for Start date and when I try to map the date field from source, it gives following error message.
Attention: The source field is longer than the target field.
Message no. /SAPDMC/LSMW_OBJ_040013.
Not sure why it is happening. I am on 46C.
Please let me know if anybody come across such situation. I have checked all aspects, tried recreating in different systems but ended up with the same problem.
You help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

It is a standard error, and I have not found any OSS note to fix it. In order to solve it, you can use this workaround:
- Export the recording into a txt file
- Edit the file, and modify the information correspondent to domain, data element and lengths (internal and external) fields, and save it
- Import the recording
For example, I had problems in a recording with the field SEL_DATE of the transaction VB02. Then, I changed these values:
Values before changes:
/SAPDMC/LSGBDC ZTEST ZVB02_ZA01 0018 0000 SEL_DATE DATE_ON Valid on CHAR1 CHAR1 SEL_DATE 0000000000 000001000001000001CHARC
Values after changes:

(values 01 has been replaced by values 10)
The values changed correspond to fields:
/SAPDMC/LSGBDC-PARDOMAIN
/SAPDMC/LSGBDC-PARDATAELEMENT
/SAPDMC/LSGBDC-LENG
/SAPDMC/LSGBDC-INTLEN
/SAPDMC/LSGBDC-OUTPUTLEN
The information that you have changed should be updated in table /SAPDMC/LSGBDC, where all the information of the recordings is stored. Check this information has been updated after recording import.

OIM Provisioning - Error during OID Create User Task

I am getting the following error during OIM Provisioning to OID (Create User Task).
I added few more attributes to the OID_USR form and then to the "OID User" Process Definition.
Also, I added the Code/Decode Key Values in AttrName.Prov.Map.OID.

Earlier, before adding these attributes, the OID Create User Task was working. So I belive this is from the newly added attributes.
Questions:
- How to identity the attribute with this key? It looks like some of the attribute values that it gets during Run Time is not populated correctly. Any suggestions?
- "key = 350"- Is there a database table that this gets stored? SPD? or anything else?

I added 13 new attributes and corresponding "* Updated" Tasks.
For all these, ProcessInstanceKey is mapped to Process Data -> Process Instance.
I am going to validate the mappings again. Also, I noticed, some of the fields that I am prepopulating is not populated.

Updating target table with date in owb using mapping

I want to update the effetive begin date (month begin date) when we load the target table. I have field in target table has Eff_updated_dt defined as DATE.
If I use the Data generator operator and then expression operator (trunc (sysdate,'mm' ) it giving error. It says data generator operator should be connected to flat file .
What other operators can I use to update the column with month begin data.
Also which operator I have use to have sequence key in the table.

you can always use a constant for the date field.
just create a constant of type date and give it the value you want, trunc (sysdate,'mm' ) and connect it to your target column, Eff_updated_dt defined.
you have a sequence operator that you can use to link to your "sequence key" as well.

CSV upload and update table fields

Hi,
Is there any way to update any field of the underlying table from HTMLDB while importing the CSV file?For e.g, if there are XYZ table have 200 ermployee where empno is primary key.
Once we upload the data from CSV its fine.Now after 2 weeks i need to update the sal and ename corresponding to the previous 100 employees only.So now when i trying to update the data a unique constraints violation occurs since the empno have already present so my concern is that -- how to get out of this problem specially when updation of huge no. of records needed and also no updation required for some records already present?Do the CSV update be helpful on that circumstances?
One thing we can do that we can track down the list of 100 employee whose information going to be updated.Put those info in excel and add rest 100 emplyee to that excel and again doing the CSV upload ?
This is a huge issue and not only the tedious task but also errorprone and that task will be increased with the amount of data increasing in the table.
Please anyone can suggest ?

The best way to solve your problem is next way.
1º) Save the file with the data to import like a BLOV ITEM.
Ok it can be done. CSV placed on BLOB data field.2º) Make a procedure to manage this BLOV item that can be fired by user pushing a buttom. (you can do it easy from HTMLDB).
how to manage ? What need to be fire to push the CSV to the target table with the actual field population ?3º) Into this procedure insert the records freely and dont worry for anything more. (maybe you can be worry about duplicate records is so, only, into this same procedure make any pl/sql lines to be sure record is not duplicate before insert)

If the data already exist it should be needed to truncate before insert that is not my reqr rather the existing data should be updated based on PK if any chages occurs in the CSV fo that data.4º) after you are sure the insert work properly and if you need any other treatment to record, with a trigger in the table or calling any other procedure from the same trigger make the traeataments that you need.

Help with centrally locating a script so it updates all fields?

At work we use a form I built that shows were each employee in assigned for the day. We have some part-time personal and I've made it so that they show up in red where all normal employee's show up as black. This works great, my issue is when a new employee is hired or a part-time goes full time I am having to go into each individual field and change this script. There is 60 fields total so as you would imagine this takes a lot of time to update just one employee. Below is a sample of the script I am using to designate if the name should be black (full-time) or red (part-time).
Is there a way that I can point all fields to one location? Then I would only have to update one field and it fix them all??

OK, remove all of the code from the document JavaScript and replace it with the code shown below. When you need to update the names in the dropdowns, set up a button and use the following as its Mouse Up script:

You can hide the button and unhide it whenever you need to update, and then hide it again. You can also run that line of code from the interactive JavaScript console, but a button is a bit easier.
This way, you just have to add names and what color you want for each by editing the oEmpNames object code. When you're done editing the list of names, run the updateDropdowns routine and all of the dropdowns will be updated with the new list.

Update an attribute just in case is empty

Hi,
I need to disable the provisioning of one attribute unless the value of that attribute on the target system is empty.
I've tried setting this attribute on the resource form to the "Default" value but the active sync adapter is still overwriting the attribute value on the target system.

I think that the value was overwritten by the User Library. Now I've created a dedicated global attribute to the target system with your condition and everything works correctly.

in your inner SQL the resultset is not restricted to give just one row.
Try this
UPDATE hr.employees1 SET
FIRST_LAST= (select concat(FIRST_NAME,LAST_NAME) from hr.employees where emp_rec.EMPLOYEE_ID=hr.employees.employee_id);Your version did not have any restriction on the rows selected from hr.employees. You gave a where condition that is unrelated to the query.
The best solution for your problem is to avoid the PL/SQL loop completely. You could try something like this:
update
   (select
       e1.first_last,
       e.first_name,
       e.last_name
    from
       hr.employees1 e1,
       hr.employees e
    where
       e1.employee_id=e.employee_id) set
   first_last=first_name||last_name;But beware, updates on joins just work under some restrictions. The key of the table to be updated must be the key of the join. (key preserved is the word to look up.)
