OK prompt/ jumpstart question

First let me say I'm just a simple data center tech please use small words and short sentences...
I am doing a jumpstart on a V480. Should not be a big deal, on my end I just have to get a MAC address and fill in a few blanks on a web page. The issue is I can't get this server to an OK so I can do a break and banner. I have tried all the tricks I know, not a lot mind you.. even took out the drives thinking if anything will make it go to an OK then that should. But allas no it shows me no love.
Anyone out there have an idea or two?

You have not told us what it is doing, so it's difficult to understand what behavior you are seeing.
Do you have a keyboard and monitor attached (in which case <stop>-<a> is the way to get to the prompt), or are you using a serial console on the machine?
Perhaps you don't have a console connection at all? Do you have a connection where you see teh boot messages?
Does the machine boot? What does it do?

OK fellas - hopefully this is an easy one for ya...
I have a jumpstart server successfully set up using 12/02 release of Solaris 9...I want to be able to boot net - install and come back in an hour or so and be looking at the console login prompt.
My jumpstart process works perfectly save for one small issue...I do not know how to automate the "autoshutdown" question and "reminder" question prior to the last reboot (hopefully everyone knows the questions I am referring to). I have a finish script that works to a tee as well....if I can get this one problem resolved, I will have my environment complete.

X86 custom pxe jumpstart question...

I am trying to pxe boot any hardware and do a basic solaris 10 unattended install..
I have the pxe boot working but can't quite get the unattended install to work... It comes up and asks for the 6 options and defaults to the interactive install.. I can then install but I want this all automated.. My setup is -
I am using pxegrub.0 on a fedora 8 box..

Try setting it to [blah]/jumpstart/config.
Can you post the boot messages? They normally have something about looking for sysidcfg file and looking for rules.ok file. Do you see those?

SOL10-6-06 Jumpstart question

Adding 10-6-06 to our existing Sol10 JS server, have mounted all .iso's lofi and run add_to_install_server for iso's 2-5 to the correct directory, but the jumpstart still stops and asks me:
Starting Solaris Install Launcher in Command Line Mode.
Please specify the media from which you will install Solaris 10 Software 2 for
SPARC Platforms.
Alternatively, choose the selection for "Skip" to skip this disc and go on to
the next one.

am i missing a step?

yes, this is a completely working jumpstart server, just trying to add the SOL10-6-06 distribution to it. downloaded the iso's and went through all the steps documented here:

previous releases install fine with the given setup. i'm just going to download the dvd image i think to get around it.

Quick Jumpstart Question

Im sure Ive mended this before, but Im trying to jump a 450 with Sol 7 3/99
using a local subnet 10.0.146 network with 255.255.255.0 mask using a
local server fo9r rarp, bootparams and tftp but in the bootparams Im pointing
the root file to a server over the WAN which has a 255.255.254.0 mask on
a 10.0.62 address.
Basically it talks breifly to the NFS server then hangs saying
NFS read timed out
I have tryed tuning NFS with timeo=15 and rsize=1024 for the miniroot
but to no avail.
Please help?

Using Same Request with prompted filters in Guided Navigation

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement wherein i have to show a report only when it returns results.
For this i put the request in a section and applied a guided navigation using the same Request as source Request.
Can i use the same request in the guided navigation as source request?
In the Request there are filters which are Prompted
My question --> in the Source Request in Guided Navigation , do i have to make the filters as prompted or do i have to make them equal to Presentation variables,which are populated from dashboard prompts.
Also i have one of the prompt as multiselect prompt...

Ashish,
Yes, you can use the same request here.
For request, you can use 'IsPrompted' if same column is used in Prompt else use presentation variable here which is populated from the dashboard prompt. Just based on the selected 'specific' value the report shud show results.

I restarted my Ipod Nano I'm trying to sync my library from my computer to my Ipod but I don't see the sync prompt

I grew impacient and since I couldn't transfer my Ipod Nano's songs to my computer and also I coudn't sync my existing library from my computer to my Ipod Nano, I decided to restore my Ipod, obviously in blanck. But I thoght that restoring my Ipod it would make easier to transfer the songs from my PC to my Ipod but I don't see any prompt o question to sync the library. I'm also wondering if when you restore the device you're also deleting the Operating System ?? (crap) I would really appreciate if somebody can help with this issue or I'm afraid I' need to buy a new one...

OBIEE - How to selectively hide or disable columns on a dashboard prompt?

Hello! I need some help with OBIEE dashboard Prompts. Any help will be highly appreciated!
Question 1. How to selectively hide or disable columns on a dashboard prompt or the entire prompt? There seems to be no "hide" or "dsable" options on
prompts.
Question 2. How to synchronize 2 different prompts on the same dashboard?
The application is this: There are total of 2 tabs on a dashboard ("tab_1" and "tab_2"). Each tab uses different prompts ("pr_1" and "pr_2"), having just one first drop down column in common ("Product_id").
The desired functionality is this: user selects "Product_id" on the first tab's prompt, which filters its reports (on "Go") and also propagates to the second tab. When user clicks on the second tab, the reports there are already filtered (or begin filtering) by "product_id", selected on the first tab.
Question 3. How to prevent the reports from retrieving when switching to a different tab on a dshboard? Specifying dummy default values in the prompt does
not seem to preven reports from retrieving, which still takes time.

Regarding Question 2:
What you need to have is a Dashboard scope dashboard prompt for Product_ID (i.e., Don't use the column prompt from the prompt tab within the Request.)
1) Create the dashboard prompt, put it on tab1 and save the prompt to a presentation variable, say prmtProdID. Set the scope to "dashboard." (This is the default, by the way.) If you create a dashboard prompt and set the scope to "dashboard," then the prompt values selected will hold true across dashboard pages.
2) On tab2, go to your report and in Criteria mode, apply a filter to the Product_ID column making it equal to the PV. (Click the filter icon, Add>Variable>Presentation Variable and type prmtProdID. Save.)
When the user selects a Product_ID on tab1 of your dashboard and hits "Go," not only will it filter your report on tab1, when you go to tab2 the report here will be filtered with the same value selected in the prompt on tab2.
Regarding Question 3:
If you implement 2, you cannot implement 3. You can't have it both ways. Not for the same scenario. But if you want to know how to do it in general, read this:

IDM Password Reset Authentication Questions

Hi,
We are implementing Password Self Service using IDM 7.1, everything is set up and we have tested and were able to reset password for users to connected target systems. we are now doing some cosmetic changes before going live, like
setting up new authentication questions and changing existing questions from IDM.
In total we have 10 questions and the way we set it is
Minimum number of validation questions = 5
No. of questions to show = 3
No. of answers required = 3
After setting all 10 questions, i took a new test id who was never set with a profile and set its profile with 5 random questions answers out of 10 and saved it, went back to /idm/pwdrest and entered the unique id which is the user id and the 3 challenge questions it showed up were not the ones i set my answers to.
Why is it prompting the questions for which i have not set answers to ?
Can anyone tell me if i am missing any config creating these attributes ?? or its the way IDM works ??

It has been my experience that the system will show any of the available questions when a user has not had any answers set. Sometimes, there is a disconnect with the Unique ID entered and the user ID stored in the identity store and it just cannot find the stored answers. As long as the additional question attributes you created follow the existing convention, they should be fine.
I would start by looking at what question attributes you have commited for the user and which ones show in the pwdreset task screen for the user. You can also run the guided task several times with the same ID to see what rotation of questions you see to see if it is going through all 10 or only a certain subset.
Do you have a self-service task configured to set the question answers?

How to make form scroll down as user completes questions

I have a multi page form that is mostly hidden but as a user answers 1 question this may then prompt another question to appear, what I would like to do is ensure that the form auto scrolls down as the questions are answered.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
You can use setFocus(), but I am not sure if this will lead to a good user experience. As the user may not expect the form to automatically jump to a new question.
Try working with the tab order.

Logging in NDA-like Message Prompt

Recently we had a new message prompt appear for SAP when logging in warning them about data privacy and making them accept before continuing with the login. This bought up several questions internally. One was of course what was this message and how was it activated? SAP pointed us to the below message detailing the intent but it doesn't give us a transaction. Does anyone know how this message as activated and how the content is managed for the display?

Why does my iPad continually prompt me to enter my apple Id and password? Every 5 minutes? Where can I change this setting. My password is correct.

My iPad always asks me to enter my I'd and password. It is the correct password but seems to be set to prompt this question every 5 minutes. Where do I change this. I'm going nuts! Am 72 and everything else works great but don't want this interruption. Please help. Thank you.

Try rebooting your iPad: Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo and then let go of both buttons and your iPad will reboot. You won't lose any settings or data. See if that stops the problem.
If it doesn't. Go to Settings > App Store Sign out of your Apple ID, then sign back in. Make sure all the information is correct.

It gives you advices and examples on how to build photoshop panels in Flash/Flex (with Flex you've plenty of UI element to play with - sliders, drop down lists, etc). I don't think you need patchpanel, or at least I've been able to do my own stuff without it: I've some javascript functions that are called by the panel depending on few sliders and checkbox.
Anyway, something that prooved to be impossible without writing some temporary image files and managing in fancy ways the input-output stream is to embed in the panel a PixelBender kernel - something that would make the panel a close brother of a Photoshop plugin

How can I make the Dependant Dashboard Prompt to auto select first value

Hi all,
I have an City prompt and creating a presentation variable with another prompt which is limited with the City prompt. But I want the second prompt to select the very first value whenever the city prompt changes.
How can I achive this to make a prompt to auto select the first value?
OR, is there a way to create a presentation variable as a result of an SQL using the value of the prompt?

You can definitely have a prompt with SQL referring to the presentation variable as @{pv} where pv is the Presentation Variable. Also, you could assign a default value to the prompt in question.

Problem for prompt playback after uploading - IPCCX 5.0 HA

Hi,
We have a IPCCX5.0 HA. I am using the prompt upload function of CRS script to upload the prompt recorded by user.
1.When IVR1 is master IVR2 slave user can upload and play back the prompt for prompt repository.
2.We reboot the server IVR1 so that
when IVR2 is master IVR1 slave user can still upload and play back the prompt for prompt repository.
3.Instead of 2, after 1.
We shutdown IVR1 server IVR2 is master. But now we upload the prompt we can see it in IVR2 server prompt repository, but can't find in c:\programfiles\wavvaid\prompt\en_us directory and can't play back either using "prompt function" from another script.

Question: Is it a must we have two servers one as master other as slave(available) at all times for the prompt to play back.
Do we expect IPCCX to give these issues, if the master is shutdown(powered off) and slave take over as master role?
Can somebody suggest what is wrong. The customer expects all functionality to when when either server is up.

You should always be able to play back and retrieve things from the respository when a server is down.
Take a look in System/Control Center, then click on 'Component Activation' to the right. Ensure that all the services are activated on both HA nodes..
If they are all activated, then take a look under System/Datastore Control Center, and click on each of the repositories to see whether you have any replication problems listed.
It sounds to me like the repository data store may not be activated or properly working on one node..
