Old Apps/New OS Workaround?

Greetings-
I have a PowerMac G4 with OS 10.3.9 that I'm thinking about upgrading to a new Imac. I have 3 expensive applications that I use regularly: Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS, and Painter 9. I know that they won't work using OS 10.5. I'm wondering if there's a way that I could continue to use these with my older OS. Would it be possible to have an external hard drive with all this old stuff on it? I'm wondering if there's a way I can keep from spending the bucks for upgrading these applications? They work just fine, and I won't have the bucks to upgrade them.

Mac OS X 10.3.9 cannot start up a new iMac, and applications which require Mac OS X 10.3.9 cannot be used on it.

I'll ask my question differently. I have multiple devices and I sync them to my itunes account. For one of my devices, I gave it to a family member. I changed my itunes password and did not give it to the family member who has one of my devices. Will they be able to update applicable apps not having the new password?
Also, if that family member opens their own itunes account and purchase apps and sync the phone, will they lose all the apps that was purchased from my itunes account?

I have an iPod touch with my same old App Store account on it. But I'm having way too much trouble with the account (involving security questions, email addresses etc), but I have purchased way too much stuff on the account to leave it alone.

I think when you update an app, iTunes uses the ID that purchased that app/ yu do not have to change the Settings>iTuhes and Ap stores login. However, as I said in my first reply, yu have to update apps one at a time if there are updates available for apps purchased by more than one account.

It sounds like you are wanting to update the Apps that were synced over from your computer to your new iPhone 5s. If you are clicking Updates in the App Store in the bottom right corner, would you mind clarifying what happens when you are trying to update them?

No. purchases are forever tied to the apple ID used to buy them. Delete them and buy your own copies.

You should regularly transfer anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and include it in your regular backup of your computer.

Try this fix discovered by User photosb189:
From Finder, hold down the option key on your keyboard and click on the Go menu at the top of the screen
Select Library from the drop down menu
Then navigate to Application Support > iLifeAssetManagement > assets
Right click on the 'sub' folder and choose Compress
Drag the resulting zip file to your Desktop (as a backup)
Go to your System Preferences and choose iCloud
Turn OFF the iCloud Photos option
Go back to Library > Application Support and DELETE the iLifeAssetManagement folder
Now, in System Preferences, turn the iCloud Photos option ON
iPhoto should now be able to launch. Give it enough time to re-download your Photo Stream content. if you are missing any of your My Photo Stream photos (more than 30 days old), unzip the sub folder on your desktop and drag that into iPhoto.

Sign out of the App Store, close the App Store app and reboot the iPad, sign in again and then go back and try again.
Settings>iTunes and App Store. Tap your Apple ID and sign out.
Close the App Store. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the App Store app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Go go back to Settings>iTunes and App Store. Sign in again. Go to the App Store and see if the apps appear for downloading now.

As already provided, if you don't have such in your iTunes library, on your computer, then there is no way to put it back on your phone. Apps are DRM protected, so even if you found a copy somewhere, you wouldn't be able to use it.
