Old computer not working with Network Magic

Hi I am having issues activating my license for Newtwork Magic on one of my home computers the desktop.  I am using  Network Magic Pro Ver. 5.1.9005.0-Pure 0 There are a total of 3 computers on the network.  2 are Dell Laptops with Home Vista.  The third computer is a Dell desktop Precision 330. The desktop is running Windows XP Pro, Ver 2002 SP3, Pentium 4 1800MHZ.  I have  cable internet, Surfboard modem, a D-link router DIR-655.  The desktop has a D-Link DWA-552 XtremeN adapter.
I have installed and un-install Network Magic 4 times but I still recieve the same message and yes i ran a clean disk, manually deleted files and restarted the computer everytime. The message I am receiving is: "The Licensing server could not be contacted.  Please make sure you have internet connection and try again."
I am at this time using the desktop to send this message so yes I am connected to the internet but Network Magic is not acknowledging the connection. On my computer,  a laptop, Network Magic indicates  the desktop is on the network but a alert states that Network Magic is not installed.

Basics from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.  Have you gone through ALL these steps?  What exactly HAVE you done to troubleshoot your issue?

    You can remove the printer by clicking the "-" symbol in the printer list. After removing the printer, perform a restart and reinstall the software that you originally used to install the printer.

  • Hello not working with network error - testing in Pacific Islands

    A few of us in the Pacific Islands Internet Society have been trying out Firefox Hello. The experience reported is that on a local network (ie same provider in same country) it works fine but several of us report errors when trying to use it internationally. Most countries here are still reliant on satellite links. We all tried with our AV, Windows and any other firewalls turned off but still the same error:
    "The stream was unable to connect due to a network error. Make sure your connection isn't blocked by a firewall"
    Could this be latency or low bandwidth, or an ISP QoS issue?
    For instance I am using only a 256/128 connection, in SOlomon Islands that is the most that is affordable (USD 450 per month). Is Hello only useable with high bandwidth? If so, it is not a Skype replacement.

    # Click on "start debug mode" and "start AEC logging" try to connect in the url, wait for the error then click on connection log.

  • XLR old reports not working with UDF from Marketing docs

    Hi,
    We are using SAP Business One 2005 A (6.80.318)  SP: 01  PL: 16 and the following version of XLR.
    XLR Version 6.80.367 (under about XLR) or 6.80.01.26 (under Add-ons manager).
    We have just gone from 6.80.01.25 to 6.80.01.26 version of XLR and have had an issue with the reports that contain UDF's. 
    Previously when doing patches of SBO we have had issues with the UDF's renumbering eg.  SalesEmp_1 becoming SalesEmp_2.  Within the XLR reports we would simply update the identifier of the UDF and it would report correctly.
    The issue this time is that the identifier has disappeared.  ie. SalesEmp_1 has become SalesEmp.  When you create a new report the data can be retrieved correctly however when you change the existing report to reflect SalesEmp (rather than SalesEmp_1) it reports no data. 
    I am not keen on re-creating all of my reports with UDFs and was wondering if anyone else had encountered the same issue and come up with a solution. 
    It may have something to do with the UDF's being available as Dimensions now whereas previously they were only Light Dimensions?
    Let me know if I need to clarify further - although it will probably make perfect sense if you have been through the same issue - and if you haven't you may not be able to help.

    ...but anyway, this Forum is focussing on the SAP Business One SDK.
    In principle the Implementation Forum in the PartnerEdge P2P (http://p2p.sap.com/businessoneforum?type=join) area should more suitable for such questions.
    I suggest that you raise your issue there - and hope that you will get the right answer.
    ...or since the issue came up when you changed from one version of XLR to another - log a question to SAP Support on the XLR component.

  • Airport express not working with optus network

    Hi there, the airport express seems not working with my optus network. It is keeping me I cannot access the internet but I do have a wifi signal. Initially I thought there was some problems with Enhernet Wan port on the AE, but after I've done some research I found there might some changes needed to be done with my old router. All I know is im using a NETGEAR router, network type is PPPOE. Also, there were people metioned on the forum that theold modern should be changed to brigdeging mode. I have no idea what is it.     Configuration is simple if you start from a factory default condition.  Then connect the Airport to AC power and finally to the Internet modem (or modem/router).  Open Airport Utility on your Mac or other computer and accept all of the recommendations.  After confirming that it works, insert your desired administrative and WiFi passwords.
    Do not expect the Airport to respond instantly to the configuration commands.  BE PATIENT!

    Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
    You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
    If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud.

    Since you have already done some sort of reset on your Airport Express, you might as well make sure it was a "hard reset" - follow the instructions for a hard reset found at:

    Since your Mac is running Leopard, you need to configure the Airport Express using the Airport Utility found in the Applictions->Utilities folder. You cannot install the old software that was supplied on the CD you got with the Airport Express.
    In future - if you do something bad with network settings on your Mac, do NOT try to fix it with the Airport Utility. The Airport Utility is only used to configure the Airport Express - and since the problem you have created is on the Mac and not the Airport Express, there is no need to be using the Airport Utility and especially there is no need to be resetting the Airport Express.

    Apple tv not working with a 3-4 year old Panasonic TH50PX75U tv, works fine on all other tv's in the house. HDMI cables seem to be fine they work with the DVD and DVR. Ratio is set to auto, apple logo on screen when booting up then Goes away. Seen twice for a split,nano second the apple tv menu on screen.     I had a similar issue, without the actual error message. If you can't get it running at all, you will be forced to do what I, and many others have done over the past 24 hours. You can restore your Apple TV to factory settings (you will then have to enter your ID, passwords, etc., to connect everything again--sigh--) by obtianing a Micro-USB cable (found one today at Best Buy for 5 bucks, available other places that sell electronics, etc.) disconnect your Apple TV, and connect it via the micro usb cable (which attaches in the back of the ATV) to your computer, plug the ATV power cord into the wall and open iTUnes. You can click the Apple TV on the left side of iTunes and click restore--it will not take too long on a decent internet connection, and it will automatically install the software update (you have no choice on this, BTW, you can't go back to the previous software, as Apple only supplies the new software online (sadly).  Your ATV 3 should work and you can put it back to your TV and re-enter all your info and enjoy the new features. But if you are like me, you won't enjoy AirPlay, something seems to be wrong with that if you use an iPhone or iPad and have updated to IOS7--not sure which is the problem, or both, but be prepared for a little more frustration, but at least your ATV 3 will "work" mostly as it did before.
    I hope this helps, it is frustrating, but it is resolveable with a little bit of time--not that I'm happy about it, either.

    My Comcast Cable Internet is not working with my router (WRT54G), but my home network is fine. The internet works without router.
    I have a WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router from Linksys.
    I was using Bellsouth DSL Internet up until two weeks ago.
    I had my DSL modem connected to my router, and the router let me use the internet and share some files and printers with my laptop upstairs.
    A few weeks ago we changed to Comcast cable. The technician came in and connected it himself, but only for the desktop. The internet worked perfectly, and still works perfectly on my desktop (the one downstairs). He didn't really give me any instruction or CD-roms for it.
    When I tried connecting my router, the internet stopped working. It was weird because the router worked for the file sharing and printer sharing between both my computers, but the internet didn't work. Although, the light for the internet is lit on the router itself.
    I even have this program called "AOL Network Magic" which shows a map of what is connected to the router, and it shows that the router and my laptop and desktop are connected, but then it has an "X" for the internet connection.
    I have tried everything. I lost all of my CDs and things that came with Linksys, but I downloaded some guides from the Linksys website and it doesn't really help. I tried something called "NetSet", but after I set everything up it says my router is not compatible or something with NetSet. I read a bunch of FAQs, I tried going to comcast and seeing if they had any FAQS about it, but I can't find anything.
    Maybe one of you can help me?
    Also, I don't know my modem's IP address. I had it for Bellsouth, and sometimes when I would lose my connection I would go there and click on "reconnect" or something like that.
    So the only way I can use the internet is to disconnect everything from my router and connect the ethernet cable directly to the modem.

    You may open the web setup utility page of the router by typing its IP address on your browser's address bar. By default, it is 192.168.1.1.  When you're asked for username, you may leave it blank.  For password, its "admin". If in case that does not work, reset your router at the back for 30 secs and do a power cycle again, see if it becomes accessible after that...

    All you can do is restore from backup, You have to erase the iPod. That is a security feature
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store        
    If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • My work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud, so I hard sync.  But then the new info on my iPhone does not backup to iCloud.  Is there a solution?

    I have a Macbook and iPhone and like to back up to iCloud.  However, my work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud.  The company has no plans to update anytime soon.  Since the calendar and contact list on my office computer are my primay ones, I hard sync through iTunes.  The problem is that any data synced from Outlook 2003 to the iPhone from iTunes does NOT later backup to iCloud.  Is there a solution?

    I have the same problem with Outlook 2003 and Win XP which the multinational organisation I work for standardises on and will probably stay with forever!
