Old Favicon showing when site is uploaded!

I have uploaded my website but the old Favicon is still showing but in Dreamweaver the new one shows up. I have emptied cache, and refreshed the url. Any ideas what to look for to rectify this?

in addition to Ben's comment:
Our browsers must be "convinced" first to show It! Upload the favicon.ico file to your server's root directory. Insert this line of code between the <head> </head> tags on your home or index.html page (I prefer that):
<link rel="icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
Clear ALL your caches!
Check with another browser, the new icon will be there.
Or:
- If set, delete the bookmark to the page or re-create the bookmark.
- Quit browser
- Empty the Temp Internet Files Internet Options
- Clear History
- Delete everything in general, where the browser remembers visited sites.
- Restart
- Clear Site visit
- Clear Bookmark

Image galleries not showing when site is uploaded to the web.

My site currently works fine. However, when I add a new set of photos to the image gallery and republish my site to the web the "work" page doesn't load anything at all.
As soon as I delete the new images set, and republish the site to the web, it works fine again.
I will add a new set of images now so that the site goes blank and people will understand.

supposedly this script is a patch for iweb08 that fixes the problem so that photo albums show in safari.I guess i'll try it...

Image not appearing when site is uploaded

I have a very frustrating problem - I've designed a site and it works perfectly well when published to the test business catalyst site. My client likes to upload it himself, so I exported it to html and sent it to him. However, there's an image on one of the pages that simply won't appear on the page when the site is uploaded. There is just the broken image link symbol and a big blank space. I've checked the page src code and it's pointing to the right image; the image is in the folder... I am not a web developer, I'm just a designer so I don't have the knowledge to fix this and I have a very unhappy and pissed off client. Can anybody help me please? I don't know where to go from here.
The image is actually an image of the person's CV as I was unable to put the text in there due to Muse's lack of being able to handle tables (something I am so flabbergasted about - can't imagine why not) and also it can't do tab stops (why?) so I'd love to know if anyone else has tried to present a CV using Muse where years have to line up with text, in tabular form!!
I'm using a macbook pro, latest model with OS 10.7.5.

Graphic bullets don't show when site is live

Hello all who know a lot more than I do, and thanks in advance for your help.
I'm using DW CS (old version) to build a site with lots of bullet lists. I've created a list style (see below) that utilizes a graphic rather than a circle, square, etc. When I view the site locally, the bullet / image shows, but when I upload site to the web, the bullet doesn't show.
Anyone?

The original CSS rule is fine. The path to the bullet graphic is not working.
Prefix it with "/rc" (same as you did for the list under "Nutrition for your skin". That list needs restructuring into a <ul><li class="list"> list)

Old name shows when I receive mail

I am using POP with gmail on my Macbook running snow leopard. I changed my account email name since I got divorced, changed my business name... but the old company name still shows up when I receive mail, as well as my ex' name. I can't figure it out and I tried searching the forum and google. I don't have those names anywhere in the apple mail settings or at google. I am talking about the "To:" line displayed name. Where is apple mail pulling this info from???

I figured it out. It pulls it from the address book. I haven't used the address book in a long time. I use filemaker pro for contacts, so I forgot that it is even there. I edited the name there, and it changed it in mail as well.

Bridge CS5 gallery, placed in DW CS5 does not show when uploaded

My husband has a Halloween haunt. We are gearing up to promote this year's haunt (and our charity of choice this time), and I wanted to update the photos from last year. Admittedly, I am an experienced print designer, wanting to learn more about web design, so not a pro at this by any means.
I created 3 galleries via the automated Bridge CS5 export (saving each gallery to its own folder within the site folder), then placed each gallery's index file into an iframe div relevant to that year's photogallery (one web page for 2010, one for 2009, one for 2008) so I can keep the site's masthead and a link to go back to the main photos page. Everything works fine when I preview it (local) as well as test on browsers (local). However, when everything is uploaded to the hosting company server, there is a white box for each gallery. I am at a loss. Cannot figure this out, and we're almost into October!

I was never able to get it to work. Had all files from the root directory (all resources, images, css, etc) copied onto hosting company. Tried to alter the relative path (Kdn002), etc. Nothing worked other than local testing.
Finally downloaded jAlbum, used the same div and iFrame structure, and it worked! I may make some tweaks down the road, but it's working fine now.

I have a new hard drive as my old one crashed. Everything seemed to transfer fine except for my entire iTunes library. It shows all of my old songs, but when I click on one it states "the song could not be used as the original file could not be found

I have a new hard drive as my old one crashed. Everything seemed to transfer fine except for my entire iTunes library. It shows all of my old songs, but when I click on one it states "the song could not be used as the original file could not be found.would you like to locate it".
Either how do I locate it, and I've tried every trick I know, or how do I restore all of my songs from one of two sources. I have my old hard drive backedup on an external drive which should have all of my songs, and I have most of my songs on my old iPhone 3S which I'm using as a backup iPod.

The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place. In the case of a library moved from one system to another there are also potential permissions issues. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links.
If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

Keep getting this error message when trying to upload a site to FTP: Error creating folder //images. Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later.
Tried again for several days - same issue. I'm new to MUSE......help?

While uploading to ftp if you are putting a '/' in the root directory, then please remove it and try again.

The auto recovery dat should be in the Microsoft User Data folder in your documents folder, not in the Library. However, I Haven't had to look recently.

Before you connect any device to a new library go to the Devices tab of the the preferences panel via Edit > Preferences (Windows) or iTunes > Preferences (Mac) and ensure the box next to Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically is ticked. You can now safely connect the device to your computer without the danger of media being automatically deleted or overwritten.
To get all your content off your connect your iPad to your new computer.
Then use a 3rd party piece of software to transfer your content

I had to change a contaxts mobile number so deleted the contact and replaced with new number. Somehow when I try to send a text it is the old number showing. Why is it stil showing and how can I remove. This is the same with some of the itunes which have copied over but again I cant remove. When I sysnc to computer it tells me that this is a new computer, which it is and it wants to delete everythign. I dont want that can anyone help with these few problems.

Indeed, I was unaware of the enormous number of options that can be selected when converting a WORD file to PDF.
I went thru the settings and found the right one for embedding the fonts.
