OMS Config Assistant fails with OUI-25031
Hello,
I am trying to install OEM 10.2.0.1 GC on a Solaris 5.10 (Solaris 5.9 too) box, using an existing DB which is a 10.1.0.4 on HPUX Itanium 11.23.
It keeps failing with OUI-25031 at the OMS Config. Assistant.
I have tried all the suggestions:
- SUBSCRIBE_FOR_NODE_DOWN_EVENT_LISTENER=OFF
- setting the locale to C in the /etc/default/init file
- using IP instead of hostname
Has anyone found the solution to this?

OMS configuration assistant failed during install OEM 10gR2
I'm installing OEM Grid control 10g R2 using new database. Everything ran smoothly till OMS configuration assistant was kicked off. All other configuration tools ran before this one were succeeded.
When OMS configuration tool started, it hung there for a long time, so I "stop" and "retry" it, got message in detail box" /usr/oracle/OracleHomes/agent10g/cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same."
In "configToolFailedCommands" file, showing "oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn".
I tried to "stop" and "retry", machine was frozen. What can I do now?
Please help. I'm stuck here.

I am trying to install Oracle Collaboration Suite 10.1.2 on a Red Hat ES 4 server platform.

Thanks a lot.is it a reinstallation or a first one on a bare server ? if there were several attempts please be sure you cleaned evrything before launching the installation :
- product directory
- /etc/ora*
- database
- oraInventory
- /tmp (I had a similar issue with remaining files in /tmp, even after rebooting)
If it doesn't work, check that you don't hit the NO-EXCUTE problem (see the OCS 10.1.2 release notes, look for "noexec") -
Installing SOA WebService Manager Config Assistent failed because of firewa
When I install SOA Suite the first three steps (AS config, ESB Config, BPEL config) run fine
while the 4th failed with the following error (see below).
After fiddling around a while I figured out that my firewall prevents the successful
finishing of the 4th step. After I disabled the firewall the 4th step was successful executed.
So which port(s) do I have to open to run even the 4th step WITH ENABLED firewall ?
Is opening incoming TCP connections on port 1521 sufficient ?

apparrently a wrong port was configured or so. I checked the settings, which can be found in .../owsm/bin/install.properties and somehow property install.db.port was set on 1531 (???) corrected it (to 1521) and the installation succeeded! -
Migration Assistant fails with MacPro6,1
I bought a Mac Pro a few months ago and kept getting kernal panic's after running migration assistant from a MacPro1,1 which I have had for about 8 years. I went back and forth with Apple, and they decided it was defective and sent me a new one which took a while to get through the university bureaucracy. I ran Migration Assistant from a MacPro1,1 running OS 10.7.5, and again got a kernal panic on restarting but was able to do a safe-boot successfully ((previous MacPro even this failed). I updated the OS X software and tried to turn off stuff that might be interfering but still get kernal panic's on restarting sometimes. Also received alerts that a variety of system extensions "were not installed properly". Clearly, the system IS NOT that stable so I erased the hard disk and will do a manual restore app by app so no preferences or systems-related software gets transferred.
This problem is very surprising to me since I have never had problems with Migration Assistant before and we have plenty of macs here. I must have tried a dozen times with the first Mac Pro using either the old mac in firewire mode or using the time-machine backup but nothing worked. I wonder if anyone else has seen this and if the new Mac Pro has an issue in this regard.
On the positive side, Migration Assistant probably moved a bunch of obsolete software/files from the 8-yr old Mac which was migrated from an older Mac (and the older Mac was migrated from a an even earlier Mac). A clean install at this point may be worth doing but a hassle.Your conclusion that Migration assistant fails is not supported by the evidence you presented. You said you got kernel panics AFTER you restarted -- these are not caused by inherent Vice in Migration Assistant, which appears to have completed successfully.
Kernel panic is not ONE problem, it is one of hundreds to thousands of problems, and if you would like help debugging that, you could post a kernel panic log for readers to help you interpret.

If you approach Apple for help with this issue, they will check for machine-check reports, run diagnostics, then send you home to erase your drive and re-Install Mac OS X from scratch (which effectively removes third party add-ons in the process). -

10.1.0.4.2
In order to install B2B, I started off by installing the
Metadata Repository Creation Assistant.
After the initial steps, I got the following message:

Install: 10G companion CD install fails with "pingwait exits with 1220332"

I am new to all this and am trying to install on a stand alone laptop. I am finding the installation process confusing.
I have:
1. Installed 10GR2 database software and have a sid=testdb. This is fine, I can connect via sql*plus no problem.
2. I have downloaded Oracle 10GR2 companion CD and installed both the HTTP server and HTMLDB in a new Oracle home. This installed OK but one of the config assistants failed:
Starting HTTP server Config assistant failed with:
pingwait exits with 1220332.
I was also expecting to see a flows% user in the database and this doesn't exist?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.There it should install without problems, even in a VM. Check the Oracle, Java and Path environment variables. Probably a wrong version of java is being invoked instead of the one provided with the OUI.

Installer fails to install DB Config Assistant
This is a beginner question.
At the very end of the installation of Oracle 8.1.5 on Suse 6.2
the installation of ORACLE DATABASE CONFIGURATION ASSISTANT fails
with the message:
"Unable to initialize threads. cannot find JAVA/LANG/THREAD.
Could not create Java VM."
What did I miss/not do correct - how can I solve this problem ??

The solution I found was a bit of a hack -- I hope someone else
can offer a better answer.
The dbassist (and probably others) shell script plays around
with the CLASSPATH environment variable and the problem is that
it sets it to the lib directory (/usr/local/jdk/lib on my box at
home) rather than the zip file (/usr/local/jdk/lib/classes.zip).
I ended up editing the shell script to force it to use the zip
file which is not terribly elegant but it does work.

This is caused due to Bug 4377902 in the Application server which comes with Oracle Management Server.
"In Turkish, the capitalized form of character "i" is not "I". Instead it is an"I" with a dot on top. (To explain further - there is also capital "I" but the lowercase of that letter does not have a dot - and i with dot and without dot are different vowels).
When Turkish locale is set and if somehow the Java capitalizes the lowercase i , that in turn can become invalid for eg. Windows."

A workaround on MS Windows is to set the system regional settings to English (for the time of the install) as indicated below:
1. Go to Regional Settings in Control Panel and set the locale and Default Locale to US English and reboot the computer.

Configuration assistant error with Oracle 10g 10.2.02 with Solaris 10 6/06

As anyone seen this a fix for this error?
I have installed Solaris 10 6/06 x86 on VMWare 5.2 which works fine.
When I attempt to install Oracle 10g 10.2.02 for Solaris x86 (released in Sept 06), the install goes fine until I get to the configuration assistant stage.
The first Net based configuration assistant fails with a Java exception which seems to be related to a Sig 11 in the libc library.
This looks like an error fixed by a patch mentioned in the release notes but the patch does not seem to be available for this version of Solaris.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated...

Just to update this.
I have deselected the create database option part of the install and Oracle installs OK!
The problem is in the create database phase which I have manually done when I use the dbca program.
When I get to the create database operation of the the dbca wizard, I get a the following error "ORA-00600, internal error code, arguments [kelntf-ldminit, [146],[1],[],[],[],[],[]"
Any offers? -

All configuration assistants were successfully apart from the Calendar Server Configuration Assistent
Every prerequisite actions where taken according to Installations guide and
release notes.
All kernel parameters set.
The architecture is as follows:
Infrastructure and Storage RDBMS is installed on server A
and the middletier on server B.
All the components were successfully installed and configured on both servers apart for the Calendar server on middletier.
On server A the X-server was not running during the middletier installation.
We have tried the installation twice. The second time changing the
ip_local_port_range kernel from 61000 to 65000 as this parameter turned out not to have been correctly set in the first install.
Clues anyone?I'm having a similar issue, and have opened a TAR for the problem. According to Oracle, it's the same error as the one received when the username is over 8 characters. Being that this is not the case in my environment, they are scratching their heads.
The only thing we can see as a possible user-name type issue is that the username and the group name are the same, though this is probably not the issue.
I'll post anything I find out.

I am installing RAC on Windows 2003 Server X64, Dell PowerEdge 2950 Servers with iSCSI Storage.
I have 3 Network cards on each node which are configured like this

Everything Pings everything.
When I start the installation , it installs clusterware and completes the remote operations but fails at cluster configuration window.
After checking the logs I found the list of failed commands and it says
