On phone next to battery symbol there is a "closed lock with an arrowed circle around it" does anyone know what this is and how to correct it.
on my I phone next to battery symbol there is a "locked lock surrounded by aa circled arrow" does any one know what this is for?
drsoif, this is the Portrait Orientaion Lock, which means you locked your phone in a way for it not to have landscaping mode. To correct this you will need to: double tap your home button and swipe to the right, first icon will be the icon with the ''arrow'' going in a circle, tap on it once and the lock will disappear:)

Hi My battery on my macbook pro keeps running low on power very quickly and I have to keep recharging it. This has never happened before. I have used all the power saver options, but it keeps happening. Can anyone help. The battery seems to be losing power even when it is turned off.
Hi BigThinker,
How old is your Mac? If it is an older one, then the battery may just be dying. You can check by clicking on the Apple in the upper left-hand corner, then clicking on About This Mac>More Info>System Report, then click on Power (about half way down the list). At the top of the resulting display, you should see the following type of info:
The Health Information will tell you if your battery is going to need replacement soon. If it says Normal, then it is not the battery.
Cheers,

Anyone know what this is and qwhy it is there?
Just curious if anyone knows what this is and why it is there? I have deleted all slide objects and this little text caption symbol is there.
It does not show up in publishing, but can't figure out why it is there.
Cheers
RosscoI believe it's a Text Caption placeholder object.
Double-click beside the symbol and you should go into text edit mode for the placeholder.

Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -
In using Office Mac 2011 I noticed that there is 3 gigs of data under Documents/Microsoft User Data for meassage sorces. Does anyone know what these files are and can they be deleted?
Hi SDP1,
Do you use Outlook or Entourage? If so, that's where all of your emails are stored. If you don't use either of those applications I'd go digging through the folders and see where all the space is tied up. Check the Identifies folders, that's probably where everything is located. -
There is a specific website that does not download, but it is not the site since it can be viewed on my iphone and imac. Does somebody know what to do?
And what website would that be ?
Might be good to provide the link, so that we can check it out.

my sons ipod toucj has a lock with a circle arrow around it (next to the battery life) what does this mean?
that would be the rotation lock
it can be activated and deactivated by double clicking the home button (round button at the base of the ipod)
and if you swipe along the bottom from left to right
you should see the same symbol on the left.

My computer seems to be much hotter lately when it is on my lap. Does this ean I need a new battery or is there a problem with the computer? Thanks.
If your machine is noticeably hotter than you're accustomed to even when running on a hard, flat surface, have a look at this article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1473
You may have something running in the background that's using a lot of processor cycles and heating things up unnecessarily (and running your battery down faster and making your fan(s) louder than usual). -
It is on the slide to unlock screen. Has anyone else seen this?
Yes - we have all seen it. It is the Picture Frame app. If you tap on it - it starts a slideshow of pictures that are on your iPad. Settings>Picture Frame. Check it out. Tap on the icon to start the slideshow and then tap one of the photos to pause the slideshow. Tap the flower again to quit the slideshow.

How do I fix this?
What does "reset" mean? I'm going to assume that means you restarted it somehow, but if you meant something else, please say so.
The flashing question mark means no bootable system could be found. Hold down command-R at startup to enter recovery mode, then repair the hard drive with Disk Utility. If it succeeds, you may still need to reinstall the system, as some files may be corrupt. You can install right over the existing system, but it would be wise to be sure you have backups beforehand in case something goes wrong.
If repairs cannot be made, you will need to try another utility, mike DiskWarrior, or just erase the hard drive and reinstall from scratch.
If the hard drive does not show up in Disk Utility, it has probably dies and will need to be replaced. -

The Creative Cloud Version of Lightroom does not need a key. Is it possible you have a Trial or previous version of Lightroom installed and that is what you are seeing? If so, uninstall the Lightroom version you have and install it via the Creative Cloud Application.

By my battery percentage there is a little icon like the alarm icon but it has a phone and what looks to be a keyboard underneath. Does anybody know what this means and how to get rid of it?
You have enabled the TTY function. To turn it off, go to Settings - Phone - TTY = Off.

FULL Technical Specs Of Pre-FCP 6 Versions Needed.
I can only find the specs for the newest FCP 6 on Apple's sites - as you would expect. Are there any places that can give comprehensive details of the earlier versions? I have tried Google but only get through to user-groups or brief adverts. Ian.
