On Pie chart rotation - the labels disappear

I am using followig to rotate a pie chart:

So, when a user tries to drag the pie chart, the chart
rotates. The
chart rotates fine but the labels disappear? why would this
happen and
any solution to this.
Also, I would like to use some other event for rotation
instead of
dragComplet. I would like to do it when user clicks left
mouse
button+moves the mouse (both on the outside of the chart)
Any suggetions?

Are your fonts embedded? Rotating non-embedded fonts makes
text disappear during rotation.

Pie chart problem with label!

Hello,
I found this example of pie chart, I tried to use several pie charts but the label square move in some chart. It shows the square moved down when it uses the vi.
I attached the example with 4 pie charts and sometimes it show the 4 sqaures and sometimes down one. Any way to fit it?.
I would like to see some example with 3d pie chart. Do you know any example?.

Overlay a graphic on a Pie Chart, & Rotate text in a Pie Chart

Is it possible to overlay a graphic on a pie chart?
I've tried manipulating the Wrap Inspector, but regardless, when I paste a graphic on topic it drops below the pie chart and deletes one segment of the pie.
In a related pie chart question, is it possible to rotate the text to face into the central axis, think spokes in wheel (vs. the default horizontal). I can rotate the pie chart in about 3 dif. inspectors, but no luck here...and my texts is just a little too long to fit nicely in the default (and too hard to read if I reduce the font size).

I assume you want to have a graphic that sits over the chart, and that you see the values underneath? Something like a shine, worn texture or logo?
If you are wondering what happened to your particular 'missing slice' open the Graph inspector and select that section. Chances are you have changed the tiled image which was assigned to that particular piece of the pie chart.
To overlay a graphic, draw a circle shape. In the graphics inspector assign an image fill to that shape. Choose tiled or scale to fit as required (a png. file with transparencies will show the underlying values, as will setting the opacity of the circle)
Turn the wrap off for the circle (It sounds like your pie chart may be set to 'moves with text' instead of 'locked to page') And then place it overtop of the pie chart. Resize to fit. Since this is now 'locked to page' and above the pie chart, any movement of the pie chart means you will have to reorient your overlay. To avoid this, set the pie chart to Locked to Page as well.
At this point you can set the wrap for the pie chart so the text moves around it if you like. Your overlay and the pie chart will remain in sync if they are both fixed to page.
Regarding your text question, no. You can't set that. What you can do is use a numerical, letter or symbolic value and include a legend manually to indicate the true names of the portions using a text box.
(I've seen someone with a pie chart whose segments were labeled with seven words, the last two of which were the only ones that changed. I suggested using the unchanging portion as the graph title and the changing portion as the individual slices. Not sure if that would apply to your project.)

How can you rotate the labels on the category axis of a graph in Illustrator and have it stay the same when updating the graph data?

I am needing to create a line graph with dates consisting of MM/DD/YY along the category axis. I would like to rotate the labels 45 degrees and have them stay when I update the graph. I have read about manually doing it, I even made an action to make it faster, but it still seems inefficient. Is there a setting that I could use to automatically create my labels as rotated? I'm curious about why you are using 2 loops. You mentioned one is for monitoring and one is for DAQ....what do you mean by that? What is the overall goal of this piece of code. Also, I noticed that you are not closing the task. Since this is just a subset, I realize you could be closing it in your actual code, but just in case you're not.....it is very important that you close all tasks when you are down acquiring data.

Pie - Chart Web Part - Label Alignment empty

Hello all,
I create lots of Dashboards to display KPIs for my company and I always struggle with the pie chart labels as the always end up overlapping unless I rotate them but that just looks naff.
My frustration and question is that the "Label Alignment" option is empty and therefore does not allow me to select "Open" which is the feature I seek.
Does anyone have an idea why this might be and if there is a work around?

You would potentially run into this with lookup fields as well, I believe. I would make a column that is single line of text for the purpose of the chart. That would make sure the NUM;# is removed.

3-D Pie Chart Rotation.

Can anybody please let me know how to rotate a 3-D Pie Chart created using Espress Charts API ? I looked through the API and found a method called 'setRotationAngle'. But this method only the rotates though the individual pie slices, and does not rotate the Pie Chart as such ! Wud be really great if i can get some help on this.

OBIEE 11g pie chart showing the slices by different measures

We are using OBIEE 11g. We have a requirement to show PO Met Count , PO Under Count, PO Over Count as a slices in a pie chart. However Pie graph in 11 g is slicing only by a dimension and not by the above measures. This was possible in 10g. I want to know if this a limitation in 11g or is there a way around this.

I tried to slice by measure by dragging the column to slice size section. I have 3 metrics PO Under Count and PO Over Count which add up to total PO count. So I want my pie to ahve 2 slices one for PO Under Count and other for PO Over count. However when I drag the 2 metrics, it shows me 2 pies, one for Over and the other for Under count.

Dynamic Pie Chart: Counting the number of instances for each value

Hello my name is Tim and I am at a roadblock concerning a chart for a dashboard design.
I have a list with two fields:
Platform and Status. The list is customized in InfoPath. The
Platform field is located on the form as a drop-down menu with 6 entries.
Status is a choice field with 3 selection that is updated through the lifespan of the project (once item created, it is updated to "In process", once the project is closed, the field is updated to "closed."
My hurdle is viewing these dynamically in a Pie Chart. I am trying to display the number of project's "In process" for each Platform. So, if Platform A has 6 projects "In process" and Platform B has 3 projects "In process"
how can this be displayed in a pie chart?
At the moment, I figured there are two options: Chart View WebPart or importing an Excel worksheet.
Any ideas or solution on how to accomplish this?

Three options:
1. Create a list that holds your statuses. Then in your original list, create a lookup to the status list. In your status list, make a lookup to the lookup. This creates a circular reference which, for whatever reason, returns a count. You can then connect
a chart web part to this. Repeat for the other column.
2. Go to your sharepoint list and export to spreadsheet. Save the file. This is a query file that you can use as a data connection. From that file, set it to auto-update and then create a chart from a pivot table. Then use Excel Services Web Part to display
the file.
3. The other option is to use Google Charts API. Connect to the list, run some jQuery and JavaScript and then export out a chart. Pretty cool tool.

Chart:: preventing the label of the Y axis from being overlapped

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to prevent the label of the Y axis from being overlapped by the axis tick labels.
My best guess would be to add some padding on its right to give some more room to the tick labels (as well as decreasing their font size).
But having looked at the "Styling chart with CSS" guide and at caspian.css, it seems there is no selector or particular styleclass defined for this label (same for the label of the X axis).
Any clue before I end up writing another Jira bug fix request?

Re-creating a pie chart with the pie graph tool...

I've created a pie graph using the pie graph tool.
I'd like to create another one of the same size but when I enter in the exact same dimensions when it asks you to give the dimesions you want for the circle, the circle never matches what the measurements of the circle are that I want to copy.
Just to illustrate in case its not clear, the existing pie graph circle size is something like 500x500 px but when I type that in when I want to draw another one it does not match the size of the original.
Anyone know what might be going on?

shouldnt happen if all is set correctly,
i presume you select the pie g tool and click on artboard then insert the dimensions in the pop up dialogue... if all is set correctly it could be (eg) a thicker stroke or a style applied to to the original... also make sure everything is set to px....

For charts, how do I choose a non-adjacent column for the labels

How do I create a create pie chart where the labels are column A, but the actual data is non-adjacent like Column E?

In your first post, your labels were in header column A, just the way Numbers likes them. The answer that was provided fit the question that was asked.
It appears that if you want labels from somewhere other than the header column, you have to select the label for each wedge separately. Create the pie chart, select a wedge, from the Wedge tab in the sidebar you can select the cell you want to use for the "name" of that wedge. The names can come from anywhere, not just a single column
An alternate solution would be to create a new table for the chart. This table will pull the labels and data from your other table, putting them into header column A and data column B, respectively. Then create a pie chart from that table.

Pie chart doesn't show the label of the last slice

Hi there...
I have this problem with displaying the label of the last pie slice of my report. It is working perfectly fine in my testing environment, but it just doesn't want to show in the client environmet... I don't know what to try anymore. I've tried all the other label location options, but they also dont help. There are five slices on the pie chart with the following values:
1.9%
43.6%
51.1%
2.3%
1.1%
All the labels and feeler lines are showing except for value number 5.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
P.S. I'm using Crystal Reports XI Version 11.0.0.1994 and the client is just running the Crystal Runtime (Maybe this helps... I hope)

I aggree with you : it's only a partial issue as those partitions are mounted under /media with their label name.
As krusader is able to retrieve the label name i don't think it's an udisks issue so it's more related to a kde functionnality. I looked for missing (optionnal or not) dependencies but without success.
Any idea is welcome... perhaps opening a bug could help ??

If you tried krusader, yes, it is quite safe to assume it is not a udisks problem, since I tried nautilus which uses udisks2. I also would rule out udev/systemd. Leaves solid, kdelibs, and the kdebase sources.
As said, on gentoo, kdelibs are compiled with udev dependency which I have not seen in the pkgbuild for kdelibs.
I think a bug report is a good idea.

Labels on 3d Pie Chart overrunning

Is it possible to rotate the labels on a 3d pie chart so they don't run into each other? I have a case where there are small values with a label that running into the next label over for an item?
I believe this is corrected in the newer versions of any chart, but I am limited to the apex 3.2 version of anychart, since I am hosted on a 3rd party site..

I understand that the feature is not available in current version of APEX Flash Pie charts now.... Can only hope when APEX 4.0 comes out we get newer version of anychart..

Pie chart label

I have a pie chart and the region is limited in width.
Some of the labels are a little long (even if they are abreviations) so that when they are at the center left or right of the pie chart, the labels are not enterily displayed.
I was wondering if there was a way to display the label and value on seperate lines...
I tried to add a chr(13) at the end of my labels in my sql query, but when the graph is displayed it shows something like this:
"my lable"
, "my value"
I haven't find a way to remove the comma, it seems to be hard coded in an apex query...
in the xml definition I can add a newline by doing this
<text><![CDATA[{NAME}
{VALUE}]]></text>
but it only works for the hints label...
btw, I'm using Apex 3.0.1.00.08
anyone can help me?

Sorry for not getting back quicker - not sure if it's just me, but all the oracle servers seem to be dying right now!
Anyway, the answer isn't pretty, but it will work:
1 - In your select statement, change the LABEL value to be:
labelfield || CHR(10) || TO_CHAR(valuefield) LABEL
2 - In the custom XML section: Remove {VALUE} from the hints section
3 - Also in custom XML, set show = "NO" in the values section
