"I wish to complain the most rigorous fashion in relation to my recent BT debacle.
Background.
Eighteen months ago I tried to have BT infinity installed at my home. It was not possible as I live to far from the cabinet. It was a terrible experience. My broadband was off and it took 10 days before this was restored. At the time I argued the need for a Plan B after all I understand that many people have a similar experience and it should be possible to restore an original installation when an upgrade fails.
Present day.
Bt wrote to me advertising their new fibre broadband was now available in my area. In the past I have been employed in the computer industry and while this is no longer the case I  have retained some knowledge. This is not currant so I phoned in case you had worked out some way to boost the signal. I explained to your representative about the previous experience and told her that I live 2.7 miles from the fibre cabinet, my lines attenuation was 60 and the download SNR was 32 and that I thought I was too far for a usable signal. She said this was a new product, it was not infinity but a lesser version and that I would get up to 13mb download. I laboured the point and it was agreed that I would try it and if it did not work I could revert back to my old contract.
The install was set for 30th December and as expected the Modem could not achieve a DSL lock. I waited 24 hours with no change and made the first call to you Tech support and despite talking over all the above and engineer was sent out on 2nd January. He again identified that I was just to far away and I was horrified that as before I would have to rearrange a reconnection. I waited an hour to allow his report to be completed and rang the support line again. This was to reveal that your operators have a problem with processing information, either that or they are paid for carrying out useless tests, as the first thing she did was ask me wait while she carried out a line test - Despite having been told of the engineers visit. When I objected I was told that she had a procedure to complete. Ultimately and after waiting on the phone for 45 minutes I was informed that she could not contact the concern team but would ring me back the next day- Saturday 3rd Jan Time offline 4 days. To her credit she did phone but only to tell me that the engineers had adjusted my signal and was I receiving broadband to which I pointed out that I had not got closer to the cabinet overnight! And no there was no change. She then informed me after I insisted, not for the first time, that my original connection be restored that the office was closed Saturday and Sunday and she would arrange this on Monday and phone me. Which will be 6 days offline and still no reconnection date.
The issues:
1 I never should have been sold the product given the information I supplied.
2 Once the connection failed the engineer who visited should be allowed to reestablish the original connection.
3 After the visit the tech support team should have been prepared to re-establish the connect Asap and not try to Fix the issue and rewrite the laws of physics.
To date I have purchased o2 Dongles and are making do but the signal out here in rural N Ireland varies between 3g and edge and gprs which is making my children’s lives terrible.
4. I consider you to be in breach of contract. You have been paid for a product which you are not supplying and are taking you time in seeking to restore my connection. If I have not an Internet connection by Tuesday 6th January(ten days offline) I will feel free to engage another provider as moving to Talk Talk or Sky would be quicker than getting your representatives to listen.
I understand that I have to complete your complaints procedures before going to outside agencies so I felt it needful to record my experiences, thus far, with your company."

On Monday Tech support rang back to tell me they would update me on Wednesday. However I insisted that as this was not a reconnection it was not acceptable and requested to speak to a manger in a UK based center. They would not do this as they claimed BT had no UK Support center. I said this was OK as this is now an administrative issue to order the reconnect and not a Technical issue, however  I had to settle for a call back from her manger who when he called said he would place the order with the "concern" team and would call me on Wednesday (surprise surprise the same day as operator 1) for an update. At this point I pushed him wither I would be reconnected on Wednesday and he replied that I would be by 12pm.
Given that I have been spinning wheels since the engineers visit, spent a fortune in O2 Dongles and data, I am expecting another update tomorrow, as opposed to a reconnection and I will be on the phone to Talk talk on Thursday morning

  • Macbook pro osx 10.6 Suspect virus. will not load.

    If you have installed AV software, then either uninstall it or disable it. Reinstall Snow Leopard:
    Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
    If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
    Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

  • Response from a long time customer... who will be a long time customer no mo

    I just browsed into the forum to get some help because I cannot get a microphone to work under Vista on my XFI Platinum. I also have an Audigy which as we all know has major issues as well and of which does not function under Vista correctly either.
    .....And when I got here for some help, I got hit upside the head with this brewing Daniel K controversy.
    To say this is unbelievable is an understatement. I became a Creative customer way back with the release of their first products... after being a C-64/C-28/Amiga user for years (still am actually!). Dam how I wish the Amiga were still a main stream system.....
    To learn that Creative has, in effect, mislead all of us in such a way that my sound card does not operate properly?because I am running Vista and WITHOUT TELLING ME is completely unacceptable.
    And this now explains why I have spent countless hours and days trying to get things working. Problems including crappy sound output (i.e distortion at volume), inability to get a microphone to function, lack of functionality of all the high end features on the card... the reason I bought it in the first place. It makes me extremely angry to know I have spent all this time trying to get things working?only to now find?it has been an entire waste because of your actions with the drivers. I have not?wasted days trying to fix this... I?have wasted MONTHS!Whomever the hell made this decision is an idiot. PERIOD - and I hope he or she reads this and chokes on it.
    Your reaction toward someone simply trying to help resolve the driver issues, even if he was asking for donations, was unacceptable as well, in my opinion. You have failed to do anything so someone else did. Of course it made it much worse to find out you PURPOSELY mislead all of us and PURPOSELY disabled features and functions.
    Hardware is what you make money off of, not drivers. In the past when I have upgraded, I have simply taken the old hardware and donated it to a good cause that needed it or put it in another older system that did not need the high end specs I was wanting or needing for a new system AND I could count on it function with the drivers because the hardware was still working solid. You should be giving us reason to WANT to upgrade.
    I.E. Quality, features, reliability, customer support.
    Now, instead you have really screwed the pooch and tried forcing us. You took years of me looking at your products as good, top of line, quality and functional to trash.
    What really pisses me off is the nice set of speakers I blew out because of the sound quality output and the massi've noise burst that happened when updating the drivers a couple months ago. That now explains why that happened and I now know it was YOUR fault that this occurred during a driver update and reboot. (at reboot, when windows loaded, the sound blared out at full distorted volume and short of cutting power I was unable to abort it in time).
    There is not much more for me to say here that others have not already stated. But I needed to make my thoughts public.
    to Creative:? I am not some child or young kid who is just upset because things do not work. I am a 45 year old who has worked with computers since the C-64 as a hobby. Like, I am sure most others here on this forum, I know the insides and outs of my system, how it works, how to configure it and etc etc. Because of your actions and my struggles you have now lost what was a customer you had for the last 23 years or so. This action and your lack of support of your products, your customers and those simply trying to help has now cost you me and my business. I hope that makes you very happy.
    Additionally, I will be watching and waiting and should a class action be taken against you for fraud, commercial deception, and false advertising, you can rest assured I WILL be participating.
    Just off the top I would say we all have a pretty good argument and case. So if things do take a turn that direction, I am in.
    In my RL work, I am in law enforcement. I deal with people who commit crimes everyday out there, people who boldly look me in the face and lie to me outright... Now I get to come home and instead of being able to not worry about being ripped off, taken advantage of and being able to trust companies I purchase from, I now have to think?of them just like those I deal with on the street. Now I have to look at companies like Creative who have also taken the path of boldly and outright lying to me as well. ?Instead of assuming you are honest, now I guess the time has come for me to assume you are lying to me like everyone else does.
    What a freaking year... first a certain high end video card maker and their driver issues (won't say who, but will say it is?not ATI) and now Creative. I thought I had seen it all with the video card maker... but this from Creative?!
    This out does everything else.
    In the meantime, I am right now making a purchase.... of a competitors high end audio card to replace the X-Fi card currently in my system. Unbelieveable.

    Amen, I plugged in my first Soundblaster 8 bit card 20 years ago, and the being left without a decent driver for Vista for an Audigy I had less than 6 months hacked me off.... Then I find out they intentionally were not upgrading the drivers to force new hardware purchase? (And I was considering getting an X-Fi)... and now the shear arrogance of the management of creative?
    "? O'Shaughnessy admits that Creative Labs intentionally crippled its Vista drivers as a business strategy.
    "If we choose to develop and provide host-based processing features with certain sound cards and not others, that is a business decision that only we have the right to make."
    I run a business myself, and the correct business decision is one that helps both the customer and the company, not the one that is an blatent attempt to screw the customer.
    I only see 2 options for creative to survi've at this point.
    One, Apologize, either fix their drivers quickly (in the next week or two) or hire Daniel_K drivers, and distribute his drivers. Key workd is quickly here.
    Two, Quickly offer a rebate/tradein program...and a significant one, not a 0% off sale...at least a 40-50% off sale. ?
    I don't expect # 2 because that will be a hard financial hit on a company that is suffering anyway. ? But # will not create as much goodwill.....and goodwill is what creative needs because of the mismanagement of this situation, and the admission that it was done strictly to force purchase of their hardware. ?
    Unfortunately, I think in either event, creative is now doomed.

  • How Skype will loose their small business customer...

    I want to express my disappointment and frustration at how Skype is making it increasingly difficult for small businesses to operate using Skype Manager. New restrictions seem to pop up on a regular basis, gradually taking away the flexibilities that made Skype such a groundbreaking solution for companies like mine in the first place.
    I want to bring to light how two specific matters have effected us to the point where I need to find another solution. First it was the payment methods. Suddenly one credit card could only be used for one Skype account. In a company of 10 people that spans 3 continents, I had only 2 payment sources. The debit card tied to our business account and a paypal account we use for the business.
    I was given the suggestion to open a Skype manager and invite all our employees there. This was a simple solution to my problem and worked fabulously for a while until more restrictions started croping up in the Skype manager.
    All my employees opened their own personal Skype accounts (to be used only for the business) on my order when they joined us 3-4 years ago. At the time I was not aware of the Skype Manager and I could not forsee how difficult it would make my life when  Skype stoped allowing me to assign Skype numbers to any account that was not created from the business manager itself.
    I got around the problem by assigning credit to the specific account and letting them buy their own numbers. That of course prevented me from having full control of those numbers, which I was not happy about.
    The most recent restriction that is actually effecting my business in such a way that I am looking for another solution, is that now any Skype Manager with a US address is unable to add personal accounts.
    We work with an ever changing group of consultants. Most of them are young professionals from developing countries where money is tight and the methods of payment Skype accepts is not always available to them.
    Perhaps most companies would not arrange communications in this manner but that is what's required for our business to work. If the people in my company, employee or consultant, cant communicate properly with me and my clients, I have a problem.
    The only option left to me is now to create a new business account from within Skype manager for every new person we work with. I tried this with my brother-in-law who works with us on occation. Unfortunatly he refrained from using the new account with its
    already paid for Skype number and subscription, as he was already to tied to his current account and all the contacts he has there.
    This is the case with most people. Who in this world doesnt have a skype account already? Being forced to use two is inefficient and moving
    all contacts from one account to another not always possible.
    You might ask me to grow up as a company and streamline the way we do our business. But that is just the thing....Companies like ours
    is who made skype in the first place. Business with a global presence that needs the flexibility and easy of use are who gravitate to skype.
    Otherwise we would be setting up with Verizon.
    Skype, you are alianating us! You are making it impossible for us to continou using your services. I can imagine there is a reason behind all these restrictions. Companies in the communications industry have most likely misused your services and you have to protect yourself. I understand. But does that mean you have to draw one line in the sand
    for everybody. You can see we are a legitimite business and are not abusing our account. Why not let your customers service agents make an educated decition about our account and allow some of these featured back again.
    Please think it over.....

  • Why I will no longer be a customer of Creative.

    / I am the president of a web development firm who uses Skype and a Creative webcam to communicate with our clients around the world. This morning, we had to re-load our computers' OS because of some issues we were having, and when I went to look for the drivers for our web cam, there were none at all on the Creative website. It is a model that is still on sale at the Creative website and my local best buy, but there is NO information on this product in your support section. It is code # VF045.
    I then called the Creative customer support folks to be informed that I would have to pay $5.00 for a CD to be SNAIL MAILED to me as they do not provide the drivers for this product on their site.
    Are you kidding me? That is absolutely rediculous.
    Last year we over $30,000 dollars on computer hardware and software and we expect that to go up. But I am now researching alternate webcam and audio products, because if this is the way you guys treat your clients and customer base, good ridance. Rest assured, as an influencer to my clients and staff, I will do what I can to recount this to anybody that will listen.

    I am a computer technician with over 30 years experience and have bought 2 ZEN Stones. Both turned themselves into bricks shortly after the warranty period. As a knowledgable technician I researched the problem on Creative's support venues and attempted all suggested solutions before filling out the requisite support form. I provided all the necessary troubleshooting information.
    The result? A very polite totally lame canned response that make it obvious my problem submission was not read. In fairness I have to comment that the response is par with most online support. It seems corporations are not interested in provideing a quality support product to their clients. Why else would they outsource to offshore countries you cannot understand for phone support and provide such lame canned responses?
    They just don't care. Period. It costs less so corporate greed wins out and customers be ****ed.
    If I could have found an email address for the CEO or any Corp officer I would have sent this to them.
    Below is my correspondence with support. Creative Labs be ****ed!

    I know about drivers, device manager and scanning for new devices. I own 4
    PCs that I build myself. The device was tested on 2 of them and a DELL
    laptop. It's broke. It a rock. A piece of junk.
    I did not write to you with ANY expectation of getting any useable
    suggestions for making this pieces of garbage work again. Neither was I
    seeking an RMA, knowing full well that an RMA request would be rejected
    because:
    a) I cannot prove a purchase date and
    b) even if I could produce a receipt for this rock , it is out of the 30 or
    90 day warranty period.
    What I did write to Creative Labs for was, to indicate my extreme
    dissatisfaction with this worthless rock product line and Creative Labs as a
    whole. Having already wasted my money on 2 models of rock and having both
    of them fail completely in less than a year is more than enough bad
    experience for me to express my displeasure and relate that displeasure with
    Creative Labs and it's products to my friends and any one else thats willing
    listen.
    Furthermore your ( Creative Labs' ) lame canned response is more reason for
    not ever buying a Creative product again, as it only shows that you do not
    even read the information provided by your customers that are experiencing
    difficulties with your poor quality products.
    The Stone is a piece of junk and the support is no better.

    ever again. Furthermore I will relate to anyone and everyone I know that
    I am extremely disatisfied with Creative Labs.

  • Verizon has failed me and I will no longer be a customer.

    I wanted to order a prepaid phone. So I did.
    I couldn't place an order with a separate shipping address than billing address. This is bad for me, because my credit card is linked to my home address, buty I live at university right now.
    I chatted online with the online orders customer service. They told me to place the order anyway and call in to customer service to have it changed.
    My order was shipped 3/12.
    The number to customer service was not for the right department and I had to be transferred multiple times. Online orders was happy to put in a request to change my shipping address. They give me a number to call back if I have any problems.
    I wait two weeks. Nothing comes in the mail. I check the tracking number, and it says it got to a town 1.5 hours from me, then was returned to sender on 3/14. That return arrived back at Verizon on 3/17.
    I call the customer service number I was given last time. It is a robot for bill paying, not the department I'm looking for. I found a general number for "Verizon customer service" and go through multiple transfers to actually get to a department that can help me. (Actually, they were the only ones who could even SEE my order details.)
    They tell me that first time customers cannot have a separate shipping address than billing address, so Verizon told fedex to stop sending my package and return it. Even though two weeks ago, customer service happily put in a request to change my shipping address.
    Today is 3/26.
    In the meantime (the ten days between 3/14 and 3/26), I was not told that my order was being cancelled. I was not refunded. I had to call to get any information other than the obvious, that my package was not in my mailbox.
    Verizon has utterly failed me. I'm reording this phone, but after the required month of prepaid service I will no longer be a Verizon customer for as long as I can avoid it. The customer service system is broken, the ordering system is bad, and customer service representitives are forced to be annoyingly "friendly". (A note on that: when they ask for my name, I can't tell if it's to greet me with a first name or to get information for my order/problem/question. It makes the conversation terrible because I don't know whether I should spell my hard-to-spell last name or even say it in the first place! Very frustrating. And the forced small talk just wastes my time. The constant transfers and representitives' inability to see details of my order unless they're in the right department is also a massive waste of my time.)

  • I will NEVER be a Verizon customer again!

    Let this serve as a warning to anyone who doesn't want their money "held hostage" by this company.
    I was a VERY HAPPY Verizon customer for years.  I had Verizon wireless, Fios TV and Internet, and when I had a landline phone, it was Verizon as well.  Their tech support staff was great for me (when I had issues), and the tech's that came to the house to do installation were very friendly.
    THEN, in August, my contract was up, and I was also planning to move.  I planned to take my Verizon services with me, but I then found out that my roommate already had Fios.  So I cancelled my Fios service, expressed to the agent on the phone that I had been a very happy customer, but my new roommate had Fios, so we didn't need two accounts, and that I would be extremely likely to get Verizon service again in the future, because I enjoyed them so much.
    My Fios was disconnected 6 days into a billing cycle (as arranged), and this is where the trouble began.  I was told when I disconnected "you will received a pro-rated bill this month", I was assured I would be charged for the 6 days.  Instead, a couple weeks later, I get a bill for the FULL amount of a month's service.
    Of course, I contacted customer service.  This online agent tells me that I was charged for the full amount because I was billed before the disconnect date.  She said that I had to pay for the full amount OR I would be charged late fees.  And then "next month you will receive a refund".  Now, this is a ridiculous method of billing to begin with, let's just say that.  But in the end, I agreed to it.  (For the record, I went back and forth with this very rude and condescending "service agent" for awhile before finally giving up on anything satisfactory happening)
    So, I wait until this month... anticipating my refund.  I get my "memo bill", and there is a credit to my verizon account.  So I asked an online agent again "how do I get this credit refunded to my account?"  She sends me a copy and paste response (as usual, and I'm sure their trained to do so) about my final bill, etc.  So I tell her "I just got my final bill, and it has a credit on it, I want to know if I can get the credit sent to my debit account", her response "it has to say final".
    The take home from this second conversation:  I conversed for a few minutes with an individual who sent me copy and paste responses, and then sent me rude condescending messages as if I couldn't read.  OBVIOUSLY, if you say something to someone, and they have questions, it is because they want clarification, and some kind of help, not for you to say the same thing over again and then be rude about it.  And, the kicker, they will send your refund (when they feel like it) electronically to your bank account if you have one on file... otherwise, you have to wait 60 more days for them to mail you a check.  AFTER you receive whatever they deem to actually be your "final bill".
    Clearly, the online assistants are a waste of time.  And worse than that, the billing methods of this company are completely screwed up.
    As long as there are other options out there for TV and internet, I won't be a Verizon customer.  I honestly think I would sooner sign a contract with Comcast than sign with Verizon again.
    Current customers:  If you're planning on severing ties with Verizon, ever: be warned that it is going to be a 3-4 month process, just like trying to get rid of a really clingy ex-girlfriend.

    Take this up with the BBB.  As that is a completely unacceptable way to do business. 

  • Photoshop will only let me use custom font sizes

    I've been having a strange issue for awhile that I thought would eventually go away with an update but hasn't. Having used photoshop for years, I've always been able to click in the text size menu of the character panel and either type in a pt size or increment larger or smaller with my up and down arrows on the keyboard. I can no longer do that -- when I try to type in the new font size -- say 25 -- my text is actually replaced with the numbers "25" and the font size stays the same. If I choose a default size from the drop down menu (18, 24, 36, 48, etc) it will change size but I'm not able to enter any custom sizes. I get the same behaviour in the option bar.
    I'm using the most up to date version of CC on an late 2012 Imac 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 running the most recent version of Mavericks ( OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)), but this has been happening since Mountain Lion and atleast the first version of CC, possibly CS6.
    It doesn't matter what font I use and happens on every document. I've also tried to reset the tools and delete the preferences.
    I do use the no-longer -supported free version of Linotype Explorer but it seems more like a photoshop issue.
    This is obviously really frustrating and I haven't been able to find anyone else with the exact problem. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

    The key combos still work for changing type point size, just not in Preferences-controlled-increments (instead, whole point sizes, 1 point at a time) -- and you can also input any point size. Are you using the Character Palette?
    On Mac, "Command-Shift->" increases the point size 1 point, and "Command-Shift-<" reduces it by 1 point size (if the type is selected).
    If you use the Character Palette (Command-T on Mac), you can input any point size you want, up to 1/1000th of a point: 24.582 pt. size, for example.

  • PDF Image will not fill up entire custom size page

    Fellow Forum Members,
    I'm using Acrobat 6 and SnagIt 8. My screen captures with SnagIt are being saved in PDF format. But for some reason I can't figure out, the capture image is not filling up the entire 8" x 6" PDF custom size page. I keep on getting 1.5" Right and Bottom margins no matter what setting I use in Distiller or in SnagIt. It's like the image is refusing to resize itself to fill up the page.
    Does anyone out there know of a way to screen capture an image at a 8" X 6" size and have it totally fill up a 8" X 6" PDF page? Is there a screen capture app that doesn't have this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    If you use Acrobat's built-in functionality of creating a new PDF from the clipboard it fills the entire page.

    I have build this quite big site: globalcastingcenter dot com where talents have their profiles and casting directors post their auditions. This is done with web apps, they can also contact each other. This is where I face the biggest deadend. BC doesnt offer internal messaging from which this web portal would benefit big deal and although it's possible to create forms which send e-mails to web app item submitors (talents or casting directors) i cant style those. Message information is put into the table and columns are called Value and Form which looks very system cold.
    BC, please could you let me know when we can expect internal messaging between app item submitors or when it will be possible to style this e-mail that I'v mentioned above.
    Other experts do you have any idea how could I overcome this huge messaging problem? I had thoughts of redirecting the messages automatically with this scenario: server gets this tablish message, it uses values in the table, populates styled template with these values and sends the final message to the final recipient. I believe this solution is too bold and it's also quite expensive considering the quote i've got from one back end developer I know.
    Please do advise. Any help is highly appreciated. If anyone knows someone that can accomplish this scenario that I've mentioned above please let me kow as well.

    Hey Mantas,
    Do not expect that feature any time soon. I do not even see that being a feature this year.
    Considering all that is going on and required to be finished and sorted a lot more is/will need to be done.
    In terms of what you can do I have done things like used the refer a friend form which you can style and use that to send emails out to the needed people. I have submitted multiple web forms with ajax etc as well.
    You have the custom fields for the people and emails (if not you can add them) and you can use those to send emails off to people, you just do not have a workflow so your not pestered with it but the notification message is the one that goes out and can have a template applied.
    So there is a number of things you can do to get that going along those lines. I have done a few variations of this on different sites.
    Warning note though - Ajax submission for custom web forms has a total character limit (all fields) of 1024 characters, which is not a lot.

    I renewed my FIOS triple play. Verison sends a confirmation which does not provide all relevant info.. When I click on the links or go into the V site, I get every kind of promotion but no relevant info on how much my service will actually cost. And calling V is a 30 minute adventure... at best

    There's a website that they give new customers, www.verizon.com/whatsnext, where you can put your order number and it gives you the breakdown of charges.  I wonder if it works for upgrade orders/renewals.  If you can check, I'd love to hear a response.

    I have already designed a book in Aperture, and do like the creative possibilities.
    However, when will we be able to change the page sizes, so that we can have PDFs printed elsewhere?
    I would love to be able to go with 12 x 12, 8 x 8, portrait orientation, etc.

    I totally agree with this thread, and I hope Apple realize that their current offer for books is good only for the iPhoto user (family, fun, amateur...) not for the Aperture users that need profesionally printed and good looking books.
    As is now the only use I can give to the Aperture books are for giving a proof book to the bride/mother. For profesional looking books I have to take the pain of exporting and assembling a book externally and send it to Asukabook or Graphicstudio.
    Apple needs to solve this matter as soon as possible, offering more sizes, more covers (quality ones), more page finishes (varnished, glossy...) AND more freedom for the templates.
    I know all the above could take time to develop, but if they just allow us to freely choose the size of the pages, at least you can print a PDF and send to your prefered printing service.
    Aperture is excellent, in my opinion better than Lightroom, and also will be much better in the future, but the book part needs a lot of improvement. If Lightroom (or another new tools) adds a really good book development and printing module, then Aperture will loose customers quickly (I will).

    My custom ringtones don't show up in my iTunes library (only on my iPhone library) so I'm afraid that if I sync to the new computer I'll lose my tones. I've tried backing up on my computer, but then I can't find that information to bring into iTunes.  I've tried backing up to the Cloud, but it requires me purchasing more space (which I don't want to do).  I've already turned off most of my apps, but I'm still over the limit.
