Onclick with accordion wiget in IE

I've been using the Spry framework for the past week and I
must say I'm pretty impressed by it. Simple but still powerful.
However, I ran into a problem when using the Accordion wiget and a
spry region. When I define a 'onclick' in a div with the
AccordionPanel class set like this:

Then in IE get the following error:

Error: Expected ':'
Code: 0
It seems to all work but I was wondering why the error is
thrown? I'm currently using Spry vP1_4_12-14 but the same thing
happens with vspry_p1_5_051707.
Any ideas?

It takes care of the error message but the onclick doesn't
seem to be triggered in IE. The onclick should be triggered when
ove of the Spry accordion panels is clicked, instead its only
triggered after the panel has opened and the panel content is
clicked. I've updated to the latest version of Spry
(spry_p1_5_051707). Any ideas?

PS: The panel click thing seems the be different between
version P1_4_12-14 and p1_5_051707. It seems that the behavior has
changed in version p1_5_051707 (which in my opinion is not the
correct behavior).

Problem with Accordion Panels

Hi
I have an issue with Accordion Panels.

You can see in the link above that I have Accordion Panels on the right side that say open/close tip. The first one open and close and displays the tip. All the others do the same but when they open then push the one under it down. The first one does not do this and I like this a lot better. Any ideas how to make them all work the way the first one "Enter the Character's name" works.

Trouble with accordion panel

I'm trying to put an accordion panel in a page of the website i'm creating but i've a weird problem.
First of all, this is the link of the page

As you can see, when i choose one of the option of the panel, the background begin to shake.
Of course i've tried with other panels, included muse's widget but the results is the same.
Can someone help me to resolve this issue?

Last time i've uncheck only the element of the master page's footer not the
entire "menu" page from the menù.
Now, as you say, the jittering is disappear.

Displaying problem with accordion

Hi. I'm facing this issues a long time. Sometimes it is
working, sometimes not....
If you click panelTab 'a little bit' quicker and not so nice
(meaning double clicking, clicking immediately another accordion
tab after you clicked previous), previously clicked tabs
accordionPanelContent is still visible and it is displayed over
opened panel below. everything is so strange. sometimes it works in
FF and in IE, sometimes nowhere, sometimes just in FF etc etc... it
occurs when enableAnimation is set to true, especially with high
duration set. im really confused.
i searched on net for some solutions but i found just
"solution" for dojokit accordion (and there was said that this
occurred just in IE, but it occurs in FF too - at least in my case)
but nothing on adobes spry accordion.
so i'm wondring if anyone in here faces similar strange
problems with this...

Problem with accordion behaviours

Hi, with the new update, my accordions are not behaving as I set them up initially and I cannot use the new settings to effect any changes. I am aware that they have been updated, etc. I have them all closed initially and even though "Overlap items below" is not selected, they still overlap objects below them when I expand them.
Here is an example of a page I uploaded with the previous version (at the bottom of the page) and how they "should" work http://www.laureus.co.za/about.html.
So when I export it now, it just overlaps my footer completely.

Help with Accordion Appearance

I have created a pertty neat accordion on my website. See below. But I have one issue. When I expand it where is visible gaps between the buttons.
When I expand the Accordion there is negitive space between the sections. (see pictures below) I created the sections buttons in Illustrator and saved them as .gifs then imported them as pictures in the accordion buttons. No matter how much I play with the spacing or Image size of the buttons there is still a clear gap inbetween the buttons when they are expanded. I resolved the issue when the accordion is closed by placing a Black box behind the affected area. but that obviously will not work with the Accordion expanded, since it just pushes the black box out of the way. I am open to any suggestions at this point.

Make sure that your gutters in your spacing panel are set to '0'. You may need to check each state individually.

Tree expand problem with Accordion Component

While using Accordion component with creationPolicy="all", tree components which are placed in accordion's different panels, will not expanded at creationcomplete.
Trees are created perfectly but not expand its level at initial creationComplete time.
If I placed tree in regular panel and executed, tree levels are perfectly expaned.
Expand level code is called at creationComplete of Tree.

Problems with accordion and animation

hi,
I have problems with the animation of the accordion widget
Accordion with 3 panels
panel1 no link but three subpoints with links
(for example: panel1: home, sublinks: me, you, us)
panel2 is a link with no sublinks
panel3 no link but two subpoints with links
PROBLEM:
If I turn on panel1 the animation works (there is no link on
panel1)
If I turn on panel2 the animation DON'T works (there is a
link on panel2)
what am I doing wrong that there is no animation ?

jump in without reading the comments :) OK, make a few changes
suggested by Steve, and played around with the css as per the
example (I think). It now works fine in Firefox if a little slow
(I'm assuming this is to do with the Flash movie and my painfully
old PC) but in IE7 it still wants to display the whole of the
selected content prior to the animation. Interestingily this wasn't
the case until I began to tinker to the recommended settings.
Unfortunately I can't get back to where it was to suss out what
code sorted it, nothing now seems to make a difference. Any
ideas?

Problem with Accordion/embed fonts in AS

I have a package named "accordion" in my Flex Project.
In there, I have a file named "Accordion.as" with the content:

Then I have the file "AccordionHeader.as" in same package "accordion".
But Flash Builder returns an error with the message:
"Packages may not be nested".
What am I doing wrong?
I tried to create a separate file for the class "font1" but it didn't work. I read that it could also be that i forgot a brace, so now I'm confused why this error appears.

Multiple galleries with accordion

Hi! I've been using Spry for a school project; I've developed
a gallery as an example.

I would say that it's finished, but I still have a couple of
issues I want to resolve (or understand, since my goal was not to
build a site, but to explain how Spry works!).
1) Thumbnails: they do not grow "centered"; the grown image
is positioned a little on the left. Why?
2) Thumbnails again: the images are larger than they look
(they are, more or less, 150x150 while on the screen they are
75x75). The grown thumbnails look "zoomed" and grainy even if the
images could be enlarged without any zoom effect. Is there any way
to fix this?
3) Accordion height: I found that the only way to change its
height is change the AccordionPanelContent height, and specify it
in PIXEL. A height in % is ignored. Is this intended? How could I
make an accordion that adapts itself to the browser's height?
4a) The browser: with Internet Explorer 6, the accordion does
not close its panels! Why?
4b) The browser again: Internet Explorer 6 shows the
thumbnail's "alt" text, Firefox doesn't, but I think this is a
browser issue, not Spry's
5) I'm not completely satisfied with the way thumbnails are
loaded; I made every thumbnail have a "parent ID" and every gallery
have an ID, then I check when they match and build the panels
accordingly. It seems the only way to go with this version of Spry.
6) The "repeatchildren" instruction: I thought it was meant
to cycle through the childrens of an xml node, but it seems to do
something else. I didn't really understand the difference between
repeat and repeatchildren.
It's all that comes to my mind. Thank you for any help or
suggestion.

Hi Simone,
I will answer to some of your questions for the moment but I
don't have an answer to all of them.
1) You have into your page the images centered by CSS:
text-align:center. In the same time the Grow Shrink effect will try
to center the image while zooming.
For this we calculate the new image size and we move the left
corner with half of the difference between the dimentions. In this
case the image will have the center in the same place and grow left
and right size equaly.
In your situation the shift will happen only after the
browser re-centered the zoomed image. The combined effect is the
one you see and the image instead of being centered is zoomed
entirely to left.
In this case you should loose one of the centering systems.
If you want the Grow Shrink effect to stop centering while zooming
you'll have to add the following option: growCenter:false
Spry.Effect.GrowShrink(targetElement, {duration: 400, from:
'100%', to: '200%', toggle: true, setup:setzindex,
finish:resetzindex, growCenter:false});
In case you want to remove the CSS text-align to center you
need to center the initial images view by specifing a margin-right
to each div.
2) This seems to be a problem mainly generated by the way the
browsers zoom the images. It appears that after the page is
rendered if you have a larger image with width and height specified
they transform the loaded images rendered to those dimensions. When
we specify the new width and height for the image they will
increase the values for the computed image and will not use the
original one. In this situation we don't have much to do.
4b) The IE as we know always does some things accordingly to
its free will. Here are some examples:
- A form element without an id attribute defined but with the
name attribute defined will take as id the name value messing lots
of JavaScript codes.
- For images if the title is not defined IE will
automatically pre-fill its value from the alt attribute. In you
situation you'll have to add also empty title attributes to force
it stop behaving the way it does.

Problem with accordion gap

Hi, I'm using an accordion component with 2 nested repeaters,
the visualization is OK, except I cannot get rid of a vertical gap
in the list between my sections. The list displays correctly the
items of my first section and after that, it has a gap and then
section 2. How could I get rid of that gaps?

I might stop using repeaters and have a custom component for
each course. There will be many common elements in each course,
probably each will have sections, or perhaps some will not. In any
case, just iterate through the xml data provider and create
instances of your course custom component, which can be based on
VBox as root container. This might help.

Problems with Accordion styling

I'm quite new to the use of both Spry and CSS but fancied
having ago at setting up the accordion widget for my company's
revamped website - www.update.dcprint.co.uk
This works fine in IE7 Beta3 (I know, but couldn't resist
having a look at the app) but falls over in Firefox/Safari where
the tabs gain extra height for some reason. The CSS is embedded for
ease at the mo, but will be extracted to a seperate file once my MD
is happy with the design. To save me a lot of time does anyone have
an idea what causes this?

Image Gallery with Accordion Widget.

I have an accordion widget with link image thumbnails inside. I want to have them enlarge outside, and next to, the accordion when clicked (or hovered). I did this years ago with GoLive and can't remember how, and it's very frustrating searching the web all day when I don't know what terms to use.
Anyone know of a simple tutorial, extension, or anything? I think I used to use a simple show/hide of layers... but it's been so long.

Try saving following page as .html file and run it (but making certain changes to it before that)...Hope that is what you are looking at.
1. use images and image path based on your settings
2. I have inline style at places but that is just a short cut right now. You use external css or styles in the page <Head> only.
3. Modify javascript to suit your behavior.
4. Make sure your reference for Spry files (JS and CSS) are also in sync with where you save this code.
4. Do go through the complete code to understand what is happening - In brieft here is a DIV with id ''right" used to capture the bigger images when you mouseover a thumbnail in accrodion panel. Similarly on mouseout the main image disappears (you may not need this).

Problem with accordion widget flashing open and shut when page loads

Pamela, did you try my test website or my own website and if so my own has now no accordion widget on it and my test website may need you to try loading a few times to see if it really works or not, sometimes it does actually work even on a pc but most times not.
