One column is not updateable in results table

Hi All,
We have a result table .When we click on preferences and check the configuration all columns are updateable i.e. a pencil icon is coming except one.Can someone please let me know what could be the cause for this issue.Actually I want to change the datatype of the column to be string from date but the updateable icon itself is not coming.
Thank you so much.

Amrit

can someone please give me some suggestion on how to resolve the issue.

    Hi
As you know this error has been discussed in other threads.. the difference in mine is that not only the time series measures but all the columns are giving me the error...none of the columns are being displayed... The rpd has no consistency errors. can anyone suggest what may be going on?

I guess you have the column in RPD, and it is available for queries.
are you using any time measures? if so check you chronological keys.

  • The requested column does not exist in this table

    Hi All,
I am getting the following error:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 59014] The requested column does not exist in this table. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT "Customers - Dim".CITY FROM MVDEMO ORDER BY 1
When I tried viewing data online I am able to view the data in the physical Layer. Also I tried connecting thru ODBC Client and issued the same SQL (above) and it returns the data.
I am using Oralce BIEE 10.1.3.2.1 version.
Please let me know if any faced this kinda issue and how to resolve this.
    Thank you.

Check your column mapping in the BMM layer in your Customers - Dim logical table. Does the CITY column point to a physical table column?

  • How can I Move data from one column to another in my access table?

I have two columns, one that stores current month’s data and one that stores last month’s data. Every month data from column 2 (this month’s data) needs to be moved to column 1 that holds last month’s data. I then null out column 2 so I can accumulates this month’s data.
I understand how to drop a column or add a column, how do I transfer data from one column to another.
    Here is my trial code:
    <cfquery name="qQueryChangeColumnName" datasource="#dsn#">
      ALTER TABLE leaderboard
      UPDATE leaderboard SET  points2 = points3
    </cfquery>
Unfortunately, I get the following error:
    Error Executing Database Query.
[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in ALTER TABLE statement.
How can I transfer my data with the alter table method?

I looked up the Access SQL reference (which is probably a
good place to start when having issues with Access SQL), and
it suggests you probably need a WHERE clause in there.
I agree the documentation is a good place to start. But you should not need a WHERE clause here.
    Too few parameters. Expected 1.
If you run the SQL directly in Access, what are the results? At the very least, it should provide a more informative error message..

  • Facet for more than one column (but not for whole table)

    Hi all.
Let's imagine we have dataTable with five columns. We can set facet (i.e. header) for the columns altogether or for each of them separetely. But is there any way to set header for only first three of them? like this:
    ____some header ____ | header | header |
    value 1 | value 2 | value 3 | value 4 | value 5 |
    value 6 | value 7 | value 8 | value 9 | value 10 |
    Any help is appreciated.

This might not be the best approach if the file is huge, but if you nest the comparators, you can do this.
Create a comparator that takes 2 other comparators as input, the primary and seconday. The compare method compares the inputs based on the primary comparator. If the result is not zero, then you have your answer. If the result is 0, then delegate to the secondary comparator. In the past I've created an abstract class to do the primary/secondary behavior, then had an abstract doCompare method that does the actual comparison. The secondary comparator can itself be a nested comparator, if necessary.

  • JTable column headers not displaying using custom table model

    Hi,
I'm attempting to use a custom table model (by extending AbstractTableModel) to display the contents of a data set in a JTable. The table is displaying the data itself correctly but there are no column headers appearing. • Can I copy just the info on one column? Not just one cell the whole column?

And then use it to paste into a seperate pages document? I cant find a way to do the whole column just one cell.

Yes, you can! You have to select all the cell in the column. You can do that in several ways, click and drag, OR hold down Shift key and click on each cell in the column.
Why not for the learning Command and click on cells not in the same column or row, and copy and paste to see what happens?!

  • Create an object for just one column in resultset?

Does it make sense to return a result set of one column into an object that represents that table? It seems like a waste of memory, but maybe I am missing something. Also all generic DOA's I have found don't deal with this situation, so maybe someone can help me with how I think about this problem in my design. Thanks for the thoughts.

    >
Plan B is to just return a list of Strings instead of a list of "some object". The issue with this is the ease of creating a generic DAO that is easy to program to. Having a DAO for each "table" class seems to be the best practice that is offered out there.
    >
Well a String IS an object.
From an architecture perspective you should model a table as a table. So if you have a table of one column you should still model it as a table. A table is a table is a table and you should generally treat it as such until or unless there is a compelling reason not to.
If you step back from the 'implementation' and refocus on the 'design' and requirements one of those requirements is to identify the sources of data that your application needs. Sounds like that data, at the server level is in a table and the typical interface between an application and a database is via tables. Makes no difference if you need one row or 1000, one column or 30 columns the first focus is on the data source.
So the interface between an application, in your case a Java app, and a database server will generally involved tables. That means you should probably still use a standard DAO (I assume you mean Data Access Object).
A generic table DAO would typically have functionality to deal with tables and not just an arbitrary object. It would have getters and setters, functionality to support multiple rows and might even know about columns.
In good data models tables almost never have just one column. Even a simple lookup table usually has an ID or CODE column and then a value column for the actual data. So if that one column table suddenly becomes two or more columns you will have to refactor your entire architecture to then use a standard DAO.
That is why the statement you made is true.
    >
Having a DAO for each "table" class seems to be the best practice that is offered out there.
    >
Unless you have some real reason not to I suggest you stick with that practice. That will make you code more scaleable and more consistent.
    From an architecture perspective.

    Hi,
There is one query which not showing detailed result while running through Query Designer or run in Portal.
But strange thing is that it is showing the detailed result when i run it through BeX Analyzer.
While all the other queries don't have this problem in system. All showing the correct detailed result.

    Hi,
We can do this setting in WAD. Please check the web template and try to remove that setting. When you have hierarchy then we can display only till certain level in portal, this setting is done in web template APIs, but in bex analyzer you can see all the detailed information.

  • A column does not edit

On my report page, I click the edit. When I edit different columns only one column does not change. It remained the same value as before.
Was there a setting I messed up?

    Phil,
Do you mean I have to go outside of application express to oracle root forum to do this?
    Thanks.

  • From two given tables, how do you fetch the values from two columns using values from one column(get values from col.A if col.A is not null and get values from col.B if col.A is null)?

From two given tables, how do you fetch the values from two columns using values from one column(get values from col.A if col.A is not null and get values from col.B if col.A is null)?

    Hi,
    Use NVL or COALESCE:
    NVL (col_a, col_b)
Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.
For more about NVL and COALESCE, see the SQL Language manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/functions119.htm#sthref1310
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).

  • Resulting grid does not contain at least one row, one column and one POV

I have upgraded to 9.3.3 recently.
We have a front end app which will run MDX queries to retrieve data.
Sometimes based on the users selections MDX query might get back nothing i.e will get #missing across all rows/columns and this works fine with the existing 9.3.1 essbase server.
If I run the same query against a 9.3.3 essbase cube I get the error "Resulting grid does not contain at least one row, one column and one POV. If you have any suppress row options selected pls clear them."
I DO NOT have Supress missing data/zero enabled. Not sure why I get this error even though I dont have that option enabled.
    Essbase 9.3.3 on HP-UX ITanium 11.31
    APS 9.3.3 on win 2003 R2
Smartview 9.3.3 - also tried with smartview 9.3.1.6 and see the same error.
Any suggestions to fix this issues?

The front end is using a VBA command "hypexecutequery" and with 9.3.3 essbase I get a return code -9 which means Operation was cancelled as per the smartview doc.
In 9.3.1 essbase I get the return code 0 which means the query is fine even if it does not return any data.
The query I am using now will return nothing as it is a check to see if there is any data. But with 9.3.3 Essbase I get an error code -9 which looks like it does not like the syntax or something.
    Any suggestions?

  • Query to get the data of all the columns in a table except any one column

Can anyone please tell how to write a query to get the data of all the columns in a table except one particular column..
    For Example:
Let us consider the EMP table.,
From this table except the column comm all the remaining columns of the table should be listed
For this we can write a query like this..
    Select empno, ename, job, mgr, sal, hiredate, deptno from emp;
Just to avoid only one column, I mentioned all the remaining ( 7 ) columns of the table in the query..
As the EMP table consists only 8 columns, it doesn't seem much difficult to mention all the columns in the query,
but if a table have 100 columns in the table, then do we have to mention all the columns in the query..?
Is there any other way of writing the query to get the required result..?
    Thanks..

Your best best it to just list all the columns. Any other method will just cause more headaches and complicated code.
If you really need to list all the columns for a table because you don't want to type them, just use something like...
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
1  select trim(',' from sys_connect_by_path(column_name,',')) as columns
      2  from (select column_name, row_number() over (order by column_id) as column_id
      3        from user_tab_cols
4        where column_name not in ('COMM')
      5        and   table_name = 'EMP'
      6       )
      7  where connect_by_isleaf = 1
      8  connect by column_id = prior column_id + 1
      9* start with column_id = 1
    SQL> /
    COLUMNS
    EMPNO,ENAME,JOB,MGR,HIREDATE,SAL,DEPTNO

    Pr_ProjectType
    AD,AM
    AD

4.AD,AM,TS,CS.OT,TS in this string we need AD,AM  only.
this logic we need we have thousand of data in the table. Please help this is urgent issue
    vasu

    Hi Vasu,
Based on your description, you want to eliminate the substrings (eliminated by comma) that are not AD or AM in each value of the column. Personally, I don’t think this can be done by just using an expression in the Derived Column. To achieve your goal, here
are two approaches for your reference:
Method 1: On the query level. Replace the target substrings with different integer characters, and create a function to eliminate non-numeric characters, then replace the integer characters with the corresponding substrings. The statements
for the custom function is as follows:
    CREATE FUNCTION dbo.udf_GetNumeric
    (@strAlphaNumeric VARCHAR(256))
    RETURNS VARCHAR(256)
    AS
    BEGIN
    DECLARE @intAlpha INT
    SET @intAlpha = PATINDEX('%[^0-9]%', @strAlphaNumeric)
    BEGIN
    WHILE @intAlpha > 0
    BEGIN
    SET @strAlphaNumeric = STUFF(@strAlphaNumeric, @intAlpha, 1, '' )
    SET @intAlpha = PATINDEX('%[^0-9]%', @strAlphaNumeric )
    END
    END
    RETURN ISNULL(@strAlphaNumeric,0)
    END
    GO
The SQL commands used in the OLE DB Source is like:
    SELECT
    ID, REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(dbo.udf_GetNumeric(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE([ProjectType],'AD,',1),'AM,',2),'AD',3),'AM',4)),4,'AM'),3,'AD'),2,'AM,'),1,'AD,')
    FROM MyTable
Method 2: Using a Script Component. Add a Derived Column Transform to replace the target substrings as method 1, use Regex in script to remove all non-numeric characters from the string, add another Derived Column to replace the integer
characters to the corresponding substring. The script is as follows:
    using System.Text.RegularExpressions;
    Row.OutProjectType= Regex.Replace(Row.ProjectType, "[^.0-9]", "");

Yield signs must be different in Texas. Here (and in much of the rest of the world) they're white with a red border, and installed with an apex pointing down:
Some still include the word "Yield" (or in Quebec, "Cedez"in black letters.
Maybe you're thinking of the "Warning triangle", which is similar, but installed base down, and often including a symbol in the white space:
