One view with button an table ui

Hi
I have a view with button and table ui element...whenever i press the button i have defined an acrtion...
and in the action method i am calling a component contrller method..( this method is created automatically by create->service call bapi)
i have also defined context mapping between view and component controller contexrt.
Still when i click the button..the table ui element does not show the records

Hi Tarang,
Do you mean to say that, on click of the button, service is called and the results of the service should be populated into the table?
If yes, plesase check the following points.
1.)Make sure if the method is called and check the results obtained.
2.) Also make sure if you are binding the obtained data to the context.(and check the context 's data in debugging)
3.) Check if you have defined mapping between component controller context and view context.
This is all I can think of as of now..
Thanks,
Aditya.

  • Enable/disable problem with button on table toolbar

    Hello *,
    In my WD (ABAP) application, on a view I have a table, a toolbar within it and buttons on the toolbar. I am trying to control 'enable' property of one button, binding it to an attribute in view's context.
    When I do this trick just for any button on the view which is not on the toolbar, it works just fine. But when the button is placed on table's toolbar - it just stays disabled all the time.
    Normally I bind enable property to an attribute in the <b>root</b> node. When I change attribute value, the 'normal' button responds correctly (getting enabled or disabled), but the <u>table toolbar button</u> <b>does not</b>. I start wondering if table controls (like toolbar and its buttons) has something to do with a node the table is bound to?
    Any comments about special features of toolbar and its buttons being placed in a table?
    Thanks!

    Looks like a bug to me. There is nothing special with toolbar buttons vs. "normal" buttons (at least not in Web Dynpro Java).

  • Replace one view with another with animation

    Hello:
    I'm clearly not following some basic principle here so I'd appreciate some guidance.
    My intentions is to create a (quiz type) app with several screens (I'm assuming each of them will be a view that I will create in the Interface builder). The goal is to let user advance from screen 1 to screen 2 then to screen 3, etc. by answering multiple choice questions (presented as buttons). So when one button is clicked the current screen would slide to the left and the next screen would slide in. This animation is very much similar to the default Navigation-type app behavior, but in my case I do not need the navigation bar on top (since user should not be able to go back). By studying the latter example, I was able to find the following code that slides view controlers one over another:
    - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
    SecondPage *secondViewController = [[SecondPage alloc] initWithNibName:@"SecondPage" bundle:nil];
    [self.navigationController pushViewController:secondViewController animated:YES];
    [secondViewController release];
    but in my project, that doesn't seem to work, as, I'm assuming, I do not have the navigationController member.
    What am I doing wrong here?

    Hi Den -
    Den B. wrote:
    The issue I have now is how to change the initial UITableView to my own view (that I can design in the interface builder)?
    Looks like you've made a lot of progress since your original question, so I'll skip the response I might have written earlier, unless you think it would be helpful to go back there. To your current question, I guess I should first ask "What initial UITableView?". My best guess is that you've found the Navigation-based Xcode template, which includes an instance of UITableViewController as the root view controller. Based on that guess, I take it you now want to replace the table view controller with a vanilla UIViewController so the root view needn't be a table view. Are these assumptions correct?
    If so, here's how to make the replacement:
    1) In RootViewController.h, change the super class from UITableViewController to UIViewController;
    2) In RootViewController.m, remove all the lines from (and including) "#pragma mark Table view methods" upto -(void)dealloc;
    3) Open RootViewController.xib, and select Window->Document from the top menu to make sure the "RootViewController.xib" window is open. This is the window that displays icons, not the editor window which displays the view. Delete the Table View icon (select it, then Edit->Delete). Then drag a UIView object into that window from the Library, then Ctrl-drag from File's Owner to the View icon to connect the 'view' outlet of File's Owner to the View object;
    4) Double-click on the newly added View icon to open the IB editor window and populate that window with the subviews you want, returning to RootViewController.h and .m to add IBOutlet properties and IBAction methods as needed. Once RootViewController.h is saved you can make the required connections to File's Owner in IB.
    Here's an example of how to hide the nav bar and transition to the next view from an action method:
    // RootViewController.m
    #import "RootViewController.h"
    #import "SecondViewController.h"
    @implementation RootViewController
    - (void)viewDidLoad {
    [super viewDidLoad];
    self.navigationController.navigationBarHidden = YES;
    - (IBAction)nextView {
    SecondViewController *vc2 = [[SecondViewController alloc]
    initWithNibName:@"SecondViewController" bundle:nil];
    [self.navigationController pushViewController:vc2 animated:YES];
    [vc2 release];
    PS. It "suks" to go from being a pro on one platform to a complete noob on another
    Many of us at this forum jumped from platforms such as Windows to iOS without any prior Cocoa experience, so you're among friends who understand the transition. In my case, after the first few weeks, I never wanted to see another dev environment again. So hang in there! It will be fun soon.

  • More than one view with iphone SDK.

    Hi
    I'm trying to make more than one view in Interface Builder and then switch between them in xcode. But I can not figure it out.
    I tryed reading guides, watching tutorials, but with no luck.
    Can anyone here give me a small tutorial on how do that?

    Your best bet is to look through the code (and xib files) distributed by Apple. I was in much the same position a couple of months ago, except my expertise was in JEE. It is really not that difficult to get going. Just a regular Cocoa development book can also help you (it helped me understand how to get going).
    Here is what you will start with
    ApplicationDelegate - Will be connected by default in your primary xib file. For simple applications that is all you need. If you need multiple views, you can still make the primary nib file you primary view and lay it out as you need. Add methods as appropriate to remove current view and display next view you want.
    Xxx.nib - Your primary xib file. Layout out as required. Create a UIViewController and connect to the File's Owner. That connects your controller to the view. Make connections to the view components in the xib file, event handlers etc. It is not difficult, but IMO IB is not very intuitive, though you will get the hang of it very quickly.

  • Creating an Updateable View with Key Preservable Tables

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying to create a view of two tables that I have in order to perform an instead of trigger on said view. The table structures for the tables I am using are as follows:
    Project Tasks Table
    TASK_ID  (Primary Key)
    TASK_NAME
    TASK_DUE_DATE
    Task Assignments Table
    ASSIGNMENT_ID (Primary Key)
    TASK_ID (Foreign Key)
    USER_ID
    ASSET_ID
    Given that, I'd like to create a view of a left outer join of the tables, so that every task is shown, regardless of whether or not it is assigned to someone. I've successfully created the view, which can be seen here:
    select
    P.TASK_ID,
    P.TASK_DUE_DATE,
    P.TASK_NAME,
    TA.ASSET_ID,
    TA.USER_ID
    from PROJECT_TASKS P
         left outer join PROJECT_TASK_ASSIGNMENTS TA
        on P.PROJECT_TASKS.TASK_ID = TA.PROJECT_TASK_ASSIGNMENTS.TASK_ID;
    I have also created a trigger on this view, to update both tables on an insert to the view. However, I cannot execute the trigger as when I check if the columns are user updateable, it shows NO for all of them. Is there any way I can create a view on these tables that allows for every column to be UPDATEABLE, INSERTABLE and DELETABLE?

    Hi,
    If you're writing an INSTEAD OF trigger, then it doesn't matter if anything in the view is updateable, insertable, deleteable or whatnotable.  Do all DML operations directly on the base tables.
    If you have problems, then post a complete test script that the peope who want to help you can run to re-create the problem and test their ideas.  Include CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for you base tabels, the CREATE VIEW statement (if not exactly what you already posted), your best attempt at a CREATE TRIGGER statement, and some code that tests it.  Explain what results you want from that test (that is, what the tables should contain after it finishes.)
    Start small and take baby steps.  Start with a trigger that, say, only DELETEs.  When we get that working, then we can change iot to handle INSERTs.

    Can you explain what do you mean by the following?
    "PL/SQL tables (a.k.a. Index-by tables) cannot be used as the basis for columns and/or attributes"There are three kinds of collections:
    (NTB) Nested Tables
    (VAR) Varrying Arrays
    (IBT) Index-by Tables (the collection formerly known as "PL/SQL tables")
    NTB (and VAR) can be defined as persistent user defined data types, and can be used in table DDL (columns) and other user defined type specifications (attributes).
    SQL> CREATE TYPE my_ntb AS TABLE OF INTEGER;
    SQL> CREATE TABLE my_table ( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, ints my_ntb );
    SQL> CREATE TYPE my_object AS OBJECT ( id INTEGER, ints my_ntb );
    /IBT are declared inside stored procedures only and have slightly different syntax from NTB. Only variables in stored procedures can be based on IBT declarations.
    CREATE PROCEDURE my_proc IS
       TYPE my_ibt IS TABLE OF INTEGER INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;  -- now you see why they are called Index-by Tables
       my_ibt_var my_ibt;
    BEGIN
       NULL;
    END;That sums up the significant differences as it relates to how they are declared and where they can be referenced.
    How are they the same?
    NTB and VAR can also be (non-persistently) declared in stored procedures like IBTs.
    Why would you then ever use IBTs?
    IBTs are significantly easier to work with, since you don't have to instantiate or extend them as you do with NTB and VAR, or
    Many other highly valuable PL/SQL programs make use of them, so you have to keep your code integrated/consistent.
    There's a lot more to be said, but I think this answers the question posed by Sri.

  • Invalid views with missing underlying tables

    I have completed an import from one database, 8i version, to a new 10g database and in the process of the import a view was imported in the SYS schema. The table being accessed by the view has since been dropped during another import and now the view is listed as invalid but I am unable to delete the view. Since the import was completed 3 times this view appears 3 times as invalid. When I try to edit the view and include a valid select statement it will recompile but the invalid view still remains.
    Does anyone have an idea how to remove these 3 invalid views?

    Does anyone have an idea how to remove these 3 invalid views?

  • Creating view with union, what to do if a table is missing?

    Dear All,
    I have three schema in one DB, 11gR1 is the database and Linux is OS.
    Schema1
    Schema2
    Schema3
    Each schema contains almost the same structure, but different data.
    There are few tables that exists in one schema and may not exist in the other one.
    In another schema, i am creating consolidated views using union command.
    select * from schema1.table1
    union
    select * from schema2.table1
    union
    select * from schema2.table1
    If table1 do not exists in schema2, the view gives error.
    Is there any possibility that query somehow check if the table exists then select records otherwise skip? It has to be one query.
    I hope i am able to deliver through words what I mean.
    Your kind help is required on this.
    Regards, Imran

    So basically
    you want to have one view for all the tables with same name in different schemas
    and you don't want to check the existence of tables before creating the view.
    In that case you can create a script to generate the views by selecting from dba_tables like below
    select 'create or replace view v_'||table_name||' as select * from '||owner||'.'||table_name||' union bla bla bla' from dba_tables where table_name='table'
    you will probably end up doing this with a cursor and you need to be carefull about union clauses in case there is no bla bla part

  • Best way to keep parameters associated with Listobject query table?

    I'm working to establish a standard approach to retrieving data from SQL server databases into Excel based applications.  My current proposed structure allows for exactly one Listobject with a query table per sheet in a workbook.  The connection
    strings and SQL texts for all queries in the workbook are kept in a single table on its own (hidden) sheet.  Each "Datasheet" then has a table and named cells QueryName, ConnectionString and SQLText which are scoped at the sheet level.  The
    connection string and raw SQLText are retrieved from the table using QueryName as an lookup value into the QueryTable.  There are a series of parameter cells whose values are inserted into the SQL text using =Substitute() formulas, where the raw query
    text has #P1#, #P2#, etc, which are subsituted with the parameter values from the parameter cells to assemble the final query text in the named cell SQLText.  To refresh the application, a simple VBA Sub iterates through all the sheets in the workbook.
     If the sheet contains a ListObject with a Querytable, then ConnectionString and SQLText are written to the .Connection and .CommandText properties of the QueryTable and the table is refreshed.
    This works great, but I have a developer who has asked to be able to put multiple Listobjects with querytables on a single sheet so he doesn't need so many sheets in the workbook.  My first though was why do you care how many sheets you have, but on
    the other hand a single sheet can certainly handle more than one ListObject, so...
    If you're still with me, THANKS!  Here's the question.  If I have more than one ListObject on a sheet, I'll need a ConnectionString and SQLText cell for each one.  How do I keep them associated?  I could require the developer to name
    them ConnectionString1/SQLText1, ConnectionString2/SQLText2, etc. and then expect that ListObject(1) goes with ConnectionSTring1/SQLText1, etc. but I'm not sure that the ListObject index numbers will stay constant.  I could somehow link to the table name,
    but that can be changed...  Any ideas?  If this is too general a question, feel free to ignore.
    Thanks,
    J

     I could somehow link to the table name, but that can be changed...  Any ideas?
    Not sure if this will help or not but maybe a little from several areas might point you in the right direction.
    If you are concerned about users changing the table name then you can define a name to reference the table and then if the user changes the table name then the Refers to automatically changes to the new table reference but your defined name remains the same.
    However, if users want to break a system even when you think you have it bullet proof the users come along with armour piercing bullets.
    Example:
    Insert a table (say Table1)
    Go to Define a name and insert a name of choice (eg.  ForMyTab1)
    Then click the icon at the right of the Refers to field and select the entire table including the column headers and it will automatically insert something like the following in the Refers to field.
    =Table1[#All]
    Now if a user changes the table name then Table1 will also automatically change.
    Example code to to reference the table in VBA.
    Sub Test()
        Dim wsSht1 As Worksheet
        Dim lstObj1 As ListObject
        Set wsSht1 = Worksheets("Sheet1")
        Set lstObj1 = wsSht1.ListObjects(Range("ForMyTab1").ListObject.Name)
        MsgBox lstObj1.Name
    End Sub

  • Replicate an oracle view with SLT

    Hi -
    Using Oracle 11g and SLT 2011_1_731 Patch 7 with Hana rev 82
    I am trying to replicate oracle views in hana through SLT
    Scenario 1:
    tables T2 and T3 with View T2_T3_view
    If I follow this thread  SLT view replication
    It creates the view as a table in hana  but does not populate it with any data.
    Scenario 2 -
    I have 2 oracle tables - T4 and T5.  I have a view T4_T5_VIEW that joins the 2 tables.
    I followed steps in a document I received to replicate the view syntax as well as the tables.
    1) replicated both tables T4 and T5 - success
    2) stopped replication on T4
        table exists in hana with data but no replication
    3) using LTRS, assigned the view T4_T5_VIEW to table T4
    4) changed the performance option
    5) restarted replication on T4
    The view gets created as a table, but table T4 gets and error and does not replicate.
    The view gets no data
    What is the proper process for an oracle table?
    I have a very complex view with 5 source tables I want to replicate.

  • PayPal buttons inside table scramble Design View in DW CS5.5

    I developed my web site using Dreamweaver 8:
    http://www.harmonize.com/hatleymusic/classic.html
    As  you see, I have PayPal buttons inside table cells.  I did this using  Design View, putting the insertion point in the table cell, going to  code view, and pasting the PayPal button code at the insertion point.   This all worked fine.
    I just upgraded to DW CS5.5. and now  when I try to use the same procedure, the Design View image gets  scrambled  after I paste the button code in code view.  The table format  is no longer in place, and I can no longer see where the cells of the  table are.  However, when I go to Live View, everything looks fine  including the table and the buttons.
    Can anyone tell me  how to overcome this problem?  As it stands, I cannot use DW to work on  my web site, which is a major problem for me.
    Thanks.

    How do I get someone to respond to my question here?
    Let me try again.
    With DW CS5.5 when I try to insert a PayPal button into a table (which I always did with DW8) the table in Design View gets scrambled, making it unusable.  Please would one of you out there who is much more knowledgeable about DW than me try it and see if there is a solution?  If you create a new HTML page in Design view, create a table in it, place the insertion point inside one of the table cells, go to the code view and locate the insertion point there, then paste the PayPal button code at that point. Here's the code:
    <form target="paypal" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="XSXQ9CUMUVLQC">
    <input type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_cart_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
    <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
    </form>
    Now go back to Design view and see how it looks.  If it acts the way it does for me, the table is no longer visible, but if you go to Live View everything looks fine with the table and the button inside it.  Of course, I can't design in Live View.
    PLEASE can someone out there help me.
    Many thanks.

  • Command buttons to Assign Query / Query view with variables on Workbooks

    Hi experts,
    We want to have a workbook with buttons that will change the Query/Query view displayed in the unique grid we have.
    We've included command buttons on a workbook, as "<b>Data Provider Specific Command</b>" and chose the Queries, selecting the "<b>Assign Query / Query View</b>" option.
    When using queries without variables or just SAP exit variables it works perfectly, clicking the buttons change the table displayed accordingly. But when using queries that have at least one variable, in our test to select time interval, it doesn't work anymore.
    In our test, we're using just 2 queries and they have the same input variable (to select months interval); but when clicking the button no change/error occurs.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Here is one approach - Keep three analysis items in the WT. Assign three different data providers to all three analysis items. If you do not want to show any query when the WT first loads, don't assign any query to the data providers. When a button is pushed, you can use the command SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMATERS to assign a query to a DP so that that query will show up.
    Other commands that will help you would be SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS using which you can hide analysis items and also, you can use the command BACK_TO_INITIAL_DP_STATE on data providers so that they do not show up if they were blank at the start.
    Another way to hide a query is to assign the analysis item to a data provider which is blank.
    For your requirements, you will have to put multiple commands behind each button - you can decide which of the above commands suit you best.

  • Ability to query on all columns from a view with multiple tables

    I have view with 4 tables. view has about 50 columns.
    hypothetically, I want to build a form to give the user an ability to query on any of those 50 columns. user can search on one or more fields.
    what is the best way to write the query to retrieve the results without performance impact.
    please let me know if the question is not clear.

    If you want to permit them to query any of 10 fields with no restrictions, you could create 10 separate single-column indexes. The optimizer would have to try to pick the best of these indexes if you specified multiple search criteria. But since you have a view which presumably means that you've got multiple other indexes involved for the underlying join conditions, you'd probably want/need to combine the column lists of the indexes you're adding for searches with the indexes you've created for joins, which requires looking at the text of the view and figuring out the best way to optimize the 10 single-column searches. Of course, it is possible that the optimizer could chose to do something like a b-tree to bitmap conversion on multiple indexes which could allow it to use multiple independent indexes for your queries, but that's generally not ideal performance-wise.
    All this is a fancy way of saying that there probably isn't a cut and dried answer to your question. You need to figure out the queries you're trying to optimize (say, the 10 single-condition queries) and you need to figure out what set of indexes on the various underlying tables provides the best performance weighing those benefits against the cost on other side of maintenance during DML. Which is going to depend on the text of the view, the underlying tables, the existing indexes, etc.

    I can't execute this SQL because I get an "insufficient privileges" error to this table:
    FROM S2.TABLE1 T
    FEHLER in Zeile 9:
    ORA-01031: Insufficient privileges
    User S1 has the following privileges:
    CREATE SESSION
    CREATE SNAPSHOT
    CREATE TABLE
    CREATE QUERY REWRITE
    SELECT ANY TABLE
    User S2 has the following privileges:
    CREATE SESSION
    CREATE SNAPSHOT
    CREATE TABLE
    CREATE QUERY REWRITE
    ALTER ANY SNAPSHOT
    Which privileges are missing?
    Thanks, Mathias

    Thanks Kamal for your answer!
    S1 has the grant select directly. But I solveld the problem. The system privilege "ON COMMIT REFRESH" was missing for S1. This has to be set if any of the tables are outside the owner's schema of the materialized view (ORACLE documentation - Data Warehouse Guide).
    But one thing is not clear to me yet and the ORACLE documentation doesn't give me an answer. I can set the refresh-attribute ON COMMIT on a materialized view containing only joins when a group by clause is set. If the group by clause is missing I can't! Why?
