Online vs in-store purchasing

Me and my family are about to upgrade phones, I am looking at the KIN Twom while other family members are considering other phones. I saw that in some cases online purchases have an instate rather than mail-in rebate. Is this true of the KIN Twom? Slash does it apply to all phones and is there any indication in the phone description online?

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about, but what i do know is i bought my Kin Twom in-stores. They won't have it out in the 'show-room', but they should have them in the back storage, all you have to do is ask them. I like being able to feel the phone, and play around with it before buying, after all, its going to stick with you for 2 years so you better like what you're buying. They did pull out a test model for me, although they had to charge it up for about 15 min before i could play around with it. Cost-wise, i did not have to fill out rebate forms. I believe this one is simply a discounted price, to $50 at-purchase, but i used the New Every Two deal to purchase it for free. One thing i do remember, with my old phone, is that when i went in to service it, they would not do it in-stores, because i bought that one online. Something to do with different warehouse origins, etc, internal limitations that directly led to customer limitations. I like customer support, and being able to talk to someone, so thats why i wanted to buy this in-stores. My assumptions are that this phone is only being sold in actual verizon stores, not mini resellers. And  just make sure you are specific in what you are asking for, because many reps do not even know the phone exists (at least 2 weeks ago it was the case). As long as you sound like you know what you are talking about, the rep will feel obligated to ask their manager for more information, without a whole fiasco of 'forged' information (yes, they are salesmen, they aren't going to say 'i don't know' like they should).

I am living in Pakistan, Lahore. I have purchased an Apple Iphone 5S online from apple store. I am facing water damage problem and there is no apple store here in Pakistan, How can I repair my phone from apple service center? Please help me

Take it to an authorized service center or Apple Store in the country where the phone originated.  Apple does not sell iPhones in Pakistan, nor will they ship them to Pakistan.

i don't have access to a computer and so,without physically  attaching my iPod touch to PC devices, can you manually restore an apple iPod touch, restrictions passcode online to iTunes and restore it to store purchased factory settings?

Sorry but no. The only way to restore an iPod to factory settings is through iTunes on a computer. You will need to get access to a computer somehow. If you can get to an Apple Store, they can probably help you.
    Regards.

I need copies of invoices from Apple Store purchases.  Any help to get them online?

Go to the Apple Store online. You should see your login name at the top on the right. Click on it and choose View Account. Log in then from the dropdown menu on the right select how far back to go. You can only go back 18 months, maximum.

  • Store purchasing: you shouldn't be forced to do it...

Sorry, but the Ovi Store purchasing process for non-phone bill transactions needs to be overhauled.
    The current process means that when you are browsing the Ovi Store website and see an app you like, you're forced to;
send a link to your handset
    wait for text message
    select and activate link
wait for web browser to open, and then the ovi store app to open
    click a buy link
re-enter your password for security purposes
    select the payment type
and if the system has failed in storing previous credit card details, re-enter these
and finally, press a button to confirm you wish to buy the app.
Now, am I the only one who sees this as highly long winded and counter-intuitive to users actually purchasing apps, let alone being delivered an optimal user expeirence.
So, there needs to be some real change to how Ovi purchasing works from the website. Here's what you need to do:
Add a cart system, allowing users to add in multiple apps at once
Allow users to complete purchases via the website, and once completed deliver apps to handset via queuing method.
Modify the Ovi Store app to check for queued apps, and install these straight away
Allow expert users to download the software directly from the Ovi site (so I can deliver it to my handset without needing to open the app
Allow users to modify and manage credit card information from the Store account pages.
Do this, and you'll have a solid app store expeirence.

You can add me to this complaint. Cell phones will be the next big target for hackers as so many are now doing online banking. I wouldn't want my CC# stored anywhere near where someone can get it if the phone is lost or stolen.
I'm surprised that Nokia gets away with some of this - MS was forced to not make IE default browser (at least in Europe), Apple is being sued for tracking advertisements apps now.
The whole Ovi suite needs to be fixed so you can NOT have the components if you don't want them. I don't use the MP3 player, I have Photoshop and do not need Ovi pestering me about what to do with pictures, I can pull the card out and tend to them myself. I don't use any MS product besides the OS, so I don't need an office suite to deal with documents. Just a pdf reader.
And OVI is using dll for all this **bleep**, so you can't block the exe for a module from running!
I like my phone, and I like what it is capable of. I certainly don't like Nokia's software.

  • In how many days i can get i-Phone 6, if i order it online from apple store, Tulsa

In how many days i can get i-Phone 6, if i order it online from apple store, Tulsa,OK, USA

In no days at all because you will not be able to order it from the Apple store online if you do not live in the USA and by your user name I am assuming that you don't live in the US?
The US Apple store online will not ship outside the US, so wait until you can purchase the iPhone 6 in India or wherever you are and buy it then.
Anyway, pre-orders for the iPhone started last Friday, so pre-orders now are looking at an October/November delivery date, but forget that because you can't anyway.
Wait until you can get it in your country and then buy it.

  • Elite Plus line doesn't deal with store purchases?

What's the point of having this line then? I purchased an item in store and this week the ad has it for 20$ cheaper. I spent 25 minutes on the phone with someone at this customer service line to try and get the price matched. Maybe it's just cause I'm annoyed right now, but I don't get why this phone number line can't handle this task. She said she needed my receipt with an order number, I said I don't have the receipt, but do have the customer service PIN listed online. She said that she needed the order number, but this was an in store purchase. She checked one system and another system to try and pull up the account, and 25 minutes later she said that she found the customer service PIN, but couldn't pull up the receipt, which might have the order number, which apparently she needed. I'm at work right now, and made the call during lunch since I expected it to be a quick call. But I was mistaken. This phone number doesn't appear to have any significance other than maybe not having to be on hold to speak to the first representative. The person I spoke with said she was going to transfer me to a post-purchase person, and she said the wait would be 13-15 minutes. So 25 minutes initally + 15 minutes to wait for a post-purchase person to even call me, 40 minutes. I could have just driven to the Best Buy and had my receipt printed. Very frustrated with this right now. I don't get how I can't just call the customer service phone number and have someone deal with my order. It makes no sense to make it so difficult/disconnected that I would prefer to just go back to the store JUST to do this price match. Absolutely ridiculous.

    Hello squaredrooted,
Lunch at work for me is a time to relax, and unwind from the daily grind, but sometimes I don't get that chance because I need to take advantage of the time to handle personal issues. We appreciate your loyalty as a Best Buy Elite Plus member, and I'm truly sorry if your entire lunch was wasted waiting for someone to handle your price match request.
Usually the Elite/Elite Plus line handles MY BBY questions or concerns, and there is a chance you would be transferred depending on the reason for the call, like for example in your case, the price match request. Using the e-mail you registered on the forum, I was able to locate your information, and I was happy to see that they were able to take care of your price match request. I do appreciate you taking the time to voice your concerns here on the forum, and I assure you I will be documenting them for further training opportunities. The agent should have transferred you sooner if she couldn't take care of the price match, so you didn't have to wait so long.
Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and we look forward offering you a much better experience in the near future.
    Sincerely,

  • Why do I get a black screen in front row when watching some iTunes store purchases? esp Cars 2

We bought Cars 2 a few months ago from the iTunes store. The movie won't work in Front Row, we only get a black screen (except for the blue Front Row controls at the bottom) although the audio comes through just fine. The annoying part is all of our other iTunes store movies work fine in Front Row. Just Cars 2 is broken. I don't think that it is an authorisation problem because it plays okay in iTunes, Quicktime, even via airplay to an appleTV or via Home Sharing to our iPad.
The movie is only standard definition so I am guessing that it is not an HDCP issue; I understand that there is only HDCP on HD movies. We are playing it on a Mac Mini (core 2 duo) on a Sony Bravia via a VGA connector.
After a little bit of complaining, apple let us download the movie again in case the file was corrupted, but unfortunately the same problem with the new version.
The computer did have Perian installed at one point, but uninstalling and restarting made no difference.
I have found lots of reports of movies with missing picture in Front Row but these are all ripped videos, never with an iTunes Store purchase.
Apple won't refund our money as the purchase was more than 60 days ago by the time I gave up troubleshooting and reported the problem.

Yeah! Problem solved: It's a QT issue.
Cause: Mac Update Software downloaded a faulty QT.
Solution: Download QT from Apple's QT site.
Great to have the Video back

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated.  There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

  • How can I use Family Sharing for Store purchases if I use a different Apple ID for purchases?

A key feature of Apple's iCloud Family Sharing is the ability to share store purchases with invited family members. However, like many people, I use a different Apple ID for iCloud and Store purchases (ironically, primarily for the exact purpose of sharing among family).
Can I use iCloud Family Sharing to share purchases if I use a different Apple ID for Store (iTunes, App Store, etc.) purchases?

Sorry, let me clarify. I have two Apple IDs A and B:
A: Used for iCloud. All my calendar, mail, contacts, and other iCloud features are here. This is the ID I use as "the" iCloud on my iOS devices and OS X machines.
B: Used only for purchases, on all my devices and machines. This is what I used to log into iTunes, or to buy apps for iOS or OS X.
The issue is that the only way (currently) to set up Family Sharing is to invite from an iCloud ID (A, in my case) on an iOS 8 device. That's not the ID (B) I use for purchases. The question is whether there's a way to share those purchases given that I'm configured on all my devices with A for iCloud. (Clearly if I somehow send invitations from B, I can share purchases; but that's not the question.)
It sounds like the answer to that question is 'No'.
If that's the case, how do I invite from B? Do I have to configure an iOS device with B as the iCloud ID? My problem isn't that I want to ("willy nilly") avoid inviting form B; it's that there seems to be no way (certainly no convenient way) to do that.

  • HT204053 i have two apple id one for Store purchases and the other for iCloud, and i want to merge them into one, can i transfer all app from one to other ?

i have two apple id one for Store purchases and the other for iCloud, and i want to merge them into one, can i transfer all app from one to other ?

It is not possible to merge Apple IDs.

  • HT204053 Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel Network Internet iCloud.  Enter the Apple ID you want to use for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes iTunes Store.

Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel > Network > Internet > iCloud.
Enter the Apple ID you want to use for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes > iTunes Store.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

  • How can I stop my iTunes Store purchases automatically going onto my iPhone?

How can I stop my iTunes Store purchases automatically going onto my iPhone?
I've downloaded several thing, including Christmas songs, but do not want them on my iPhone anymore - but no matter what I do, every time I sync my phone, all my purchases revert back to the old names (purchased names, ie. "The Blue - EP" when I have renamed them to "The Blue") and then come up on my iPhone. Despire finding the song on my phone, swipping it to delete, it'll reappear later on.
I have also set up that only songs in a created playlist are to be on my iPhone, (these songs are not on it), yet they always appear.
How can I ensure the downloaded files DO NOT change names and stop going onto my iPhone every time I sync up?
    Thank you.

It looks like you're trying to play a track bought from the iTunes store (or does it happen with other songs too?). Make sure you are logged in with the account the track was bought with.

  • HT1918 Is there a way to transfer iTunes Store purchases or an iTunes library from one user to another?

Is there a way to transfer iTunes Store purchases or an iTunes library from one user to another?
Historically, I have my own laptop and my 8 year old daughter has a laptop as well.  I also have an iPad and iPhone.  In the past, I have managed all devices with the same apple ID, and used my laptop as the main library, storing all music, apps, video, etc.  I then  just selectively copied things to the other authorized devices, so my daughter's laptop has a copy of her music under my apple ID.  Now she has her own iPod touch, so I would live to move her music and apps to her own iTunes library with a name I create for her on her laptop and iPod.
Is this possible without having to repurchase all of her media?

    Welcome to AD!
You can try these Apple directions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329
Or buy a 3rd-party ipod manager such as CopyTrans.
