ONLY Office365 users sending to our domain getting '550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired' errors

We are having issues with Office365 users sending to our exchange server. We are a small exchange shop. No office365 here. But we have had 3 DIFFERENT domains sending emails our direction receiving the '550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired' returned
email error messages. When using gmail or any other mail service we've tried this issue does not happen. What does Office365/hosted exchange look for differently than any other service?
Regards,
Jay

  • Limit sending from our domain

We've run across an issue where some user accounts are being compromised on our GroupWise system. So, what happens is an account get's compromised and the hacker uses our server to send out SPAM mail, but the from address is NOT from our domain name (abc.org). Is there a way to only allow outbound mail from our domain (abc.org) specifically?

Confirm the spam mail is originating at the GWIA, and not some other part of your infrastructure. If the gwia logs do not show the messages originating there, they didn't. You can enable verbose logging to be sure.
I'm not sure what you describe is actually possible with GroupWise without enabling relaying. When we have seen this happen, specifically a compromised account being logged into usually via WebAccess, the sender is always the groupwise user not a fake one.
You may want to look at your GWIA logs and confirm that the sender is blah@some_other_domain.com and not one of your own user accounts.
Anyway, check Console One-->GWIA Object-->Access Control Tab-->SMTP Relay Settings Panel and confirm that relaying is disabled and that no exceptions exists that would override that.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following:
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

Its possible that the server can be down now. Have you ever used it before?  If you want, try resseting the phone by just holding the sleep/wake key and the home button together for 10 seconds.  Then wait 5 seconds when it turns off and press the sleep/wake button to turn it back on.  Then try it again.  Let me know what the results are.

Some external Users are getting Duplicate Emails from our domain. I have Exchange 2013 and is properly configured. A user reported me that, I sent one email to the other domain's user, and it was delivered twice after 1 or 2 hours.  I checked the Message

I have no idea why this is happening? can you please help me on this issue.

  • RDS - .local domain and external users. Best way to get rid of SSL warnings

I am evaluating MS RDS as a possible solution for a VDI implementation at the college I work for.  When we setup our AD years ago we set it up as a .local domain.  I am running into issues with the .local machine name on the connection broker for
external users.  I know for internal domain systems we can setup the self signed .local cert as a trusted root cert to bypass the self signed untrusted warning  but for the bulk of our users which will be using systems external to our domain they
will get the SSL warning about the self signed certificate when they try to connect to a remote app or a desktop.
Initially I thought if I setup a local AD CA that we could setup a trust relationship with the SSL cert.  After further reading I believe that this would only work for systems internal to our domain and we would still have the issue with external devices.
The other option would be to tell our users to click the box to never display the warning message again and to go on or to add the self signed cert to their trusted list.  Of course when ever you ask the user to do something there will be issues.  We
have also found that in our testing that we can not seem to connect via the web portal with a macbook.  We get an error that there is a problem with the trust relationship with the server after we login and click on an app or a desktop to connect.  We
have been able to connect with iOS devices.
We could of course rename the .local domain to a .edu domain which would permit us to use our wildcard certificate but that is a major undertaking that we don't want to cross at the moment.  I think I might have some up with a solution and wanted to
bounce the idea off of those on this forum.
If we setup a second domain on campus that is not a .local.  Join the non internet facing RDS systems to this new domain that would have a SSL cert that was trusted and then setup a full trust relationship between the two domains such that users and
systems in one domain could communicate with the systems in the other domain would that remove the certificate warnings for external users?

    Hi AKlein,
Initially I thought if I setup a local AD CA that we could setup a trust relationship with the SSL cert.  After further reading I believe that this would only work for systems internal to our domain and we would
still have the issue with external devices.
Just add the root CA certificate of the internal CA into Trusted Root Certification Authorities store on external clients manually (or through group policy if there is an external domain), then SSL certificate warning would be gone.
We could of course rename the .local domain to a .edu domain which would permit us to use our wildcard certificate but that is a major undertaking that we don't want to cross at the moment.
Yes, renaming domain is not recommended due to its complexity.
If we setup a second domain on campus that is not a .local.  Join the non internet facing RDS systems to this new domain that would have a SSL cert that was trusted and then setup a full trust relationship between
the two domains such that users and systems in one domain could communicate with the systems in the other domain would that remove the certificate warnings for external users?
If you are setting up a new domain with two way trust, then root CA certificate of the internal CA still needs to be distributed manually (or through group policy). If you are setting up a child domain, then enterprise CA would be trusted within the same
    forest.
As long as there are enough external users and devices to manage, an external private network exists and extra domain management tasks are acceptable, then setting up a new domain is a good choice since domain provides secure boundary.
Or, you could just create a new site from the other network location, which saves you from creating a new domain, new users and trust.

    Amy

    Hi Experts,

  • Only one user don't get mails with IMAP

    Strange Problem.
I have stored 4 accounts on my iPhone and get mails only from 3 from the same PO.
With my own account "rupert" I get a message:"Server mail.company.at does not respond"
But i can send mails with my account very well.
This error occurs after moving all users into a new postoffice.
But all other user accounts are working well.
On the iPhone I have checked my own password, mail address, port and so on.
I have deleted my account in consoleone and create it new. Connected with the existing PO-User "userqtn.db".
On my workstation i can login with Groupwise-Client 8.0.3 without any problems.
The Groupwise Client works well and it must be a problem with my user ID and IMAP.
But I do not find the error.
What could be the reason for this problem?
The POA shows me the correct login:

Perhaps to be on the safe side, run a GWCheck against your user account.
Use either the standalone version of GWCheck or run the same check from ConsoleOne with following options (described here for a standalone version):
    1. Database type -> Post Office
    2. Database Path -> use a browse button to navigate in a location where is a wphost.db, the Post Office database
    3. Post Office Name -> fill in a Post Office name.
    4. Object type -> select User/Resource and type either a MailboxID or directly a user database file name.
    5. Action -> leave default Analyze/Fix Databases.
    6. Activate (only) Contents and Fix problems check boxes.
    7. Database tab -> activate only the User option
    8. Misc tab -> here type a string resfldr (or use alias string folderreset)
    9. Run.
Let us know how it goes.

I'm having a problem whereby one particular user of a mail domain I'm hosting can't send to external addresses. She can send to internal addresses, and other users can send to external addresses, but when she tries to send to an external address, this is what appears in the postfix log:

If others can send then most likely the mail client is not authenticating properly. Either it is trying to use a non supported authentication method or simply a wrong password.

  • Sending email from a user in another AD Domain

    Hi All
I have two AD domains, domainA and domainB.  domainA is running Exchange 2010, domainB has no exchange at present.
I have users that exist in both domains.  I have setup trusts between domains.
I want to be able to send emails from an outlook client and user in domainB using Exchange in domain.
I have the user setup with Outlook 2010 and can see emails coming in but cannot send emails.  I get the message " Delivery has failed to these recipients. You cannot send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so.
Please make sure your sending on behalf of the correct sender or request the necessary permissions."
As far as I can see I have granted rights to send.  Can anyone give me a step by step guide as to how I can achieve what I'm looking for.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi  Ware
    Thank you for your question.
By your state, I think you can configure exchange 2010 to accept e-mail for more than one authoritative domain ,
you can refer to the following link:

Have your wife log in to her user account on the laptop. Launch iTunes, then connect her phone to the computer with the USB cable. Sync. That should put back all apps and media. Since you already upgraded her to iOS 5 she'll have to manually enter all her settings and preferences, and organize her home screens.

How do I set up a separate icloud account? Both my wife and I have an iPhone 4s and an iPad (1 and 3), but only one Mac. We are tired of our "stuff" getting mixed up together when we sync. Thanks much

You don't need separate iCloud accounts if you want to simply sync unique content to each device using iTunes. I have three iDevices using one ID and one iTunes library and each device has it's own content on it. You need to set up the sync configuration for each device. This is what I recommend.
First turn off auto sync in iTunes. Launch iTunes on the Mac and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing. Click OK and then quit iTunes.
Connect one of your devices to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the device name on the left side under the devices heading.
Click on a tab in iTunes - Apps for instance.
Click on the Apps that you want to sync to that device.
Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked.
Follow the same procedure for all of the other tabs in iTunes ..... Music, Photos, Movies and so on.
After you have finished making all of your selections, click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
When you are done, eject the first device and do the same thing with the other device. iTunes will now remember the sync configuration on each device.
You can change that configuration any time that you like by following the steps outlined above.
If you want to continue to auto sync, turn it back on in the iTunes preferences as described above.

I think there is not native rule for this, but you could try a transport rule which removes all attachments over a very small file size like 1KB.
