Only 'web-cache' gets redirected - no other service groups...

I have a Netcache configured for transparent caching for port 80 and 443. The Netcahce IP is 164.72.49.253. We have a 6509, sup720 IOS. 12.2(17a)SX3, configured to redirect web-cache and 1 to the Netcache. Here is the config:
ip wccp web-cache
ip wccp 1
The 6509 interface that controls the subnet the netcache is on is configured thus:
interface Vlan1
ip address 164.72.49.131 255.255.255.128
ip wccp web-cache redirect out
ip wccp 1 redirect out
We have a PC on another subnet connected to the 6509 that we are using to test the config, and we can only get port 80 to be redirected to the Netchace. HTTPS port 443 never gets redirected. Service group 1 is configed on the Netcache as tcp port 443.
Here is the output of 'sh ip wccp':

What would cause the router to no redirect service-group 1 packets to the Netcache?

The sup720 does not support wccp yet.
The commands are available and some functionalities may work but currently the sup720 does not support wccp.

  • I keep getting redirected to other websites

I keep getting redirected to other (related) websites while using safari on my MacBook Air.  Any suggestions?  I'm guessing I have inadvertently downloaded something that I need to uninstall or delete.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

  • Web searches getting redirected to OpenDNS. Cannot access these websites.

This problem just started. Every time I try to load a page (in this case Gamefaqs), I get redirected to this search provider called openDNS saying the site is unavailable. It has links to the website and each time I click on it, it redirects me back to that OpenDNS thing.
I have tried loading the page with the default chrome browser on that phone as well as my laptop using both firefox and chrome and have not experienced that problem. Yet, the problem persists when trying to access the website through firefox mobile.
I have tried clearing the cache, uninstall and reinstalling, yet the problem isn't resolved. I have done a virus scan, thinking it might be some form of malware that is hijacking my search engine. That all comes back clean.
I have never heard of OpenDNS, nor have I authorized it to become my search engine. When I go to the search engine settings, it doesn't even show up, yet it manages to keep hijacking my google searches and redirecting me from sites that normally work.
    Please help me.

    Hi SuperRup91:
    As the fantastic jscher2000 wrote:
"you may have OpenDNS set as your DNS service in your router, or your ISP may be using it."
And you may not have been aware that OpenDNS was set in your WiFi router.
Whoever controls the network that your WiFi hooks into can change google searches or anything you browse or in this case change "404 page not found errors" to go to OpenDNS. And there are two place where your network is controlled: i) your wifi router and ii) your ISP.
    Two examples:
    1. Here in Vancouver, Canada where I live, if you connect to a Shaw WiFi hotspot, then Shaw changes your searches by adding Shaw specific stuff. Not a great situation :-) but Shaw does that. (one could argue that this means Shaw is "breaking the internet")
    2. By default Verizon configures the WiFi routers they supply with something called "DNS assistance" which changes DNS and again one could argue that this too "breaks the internet"

    * https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/fiosinternet/troubleshooting/network/questionsone/99147.htm
Therefore, I recommend you check your WiFi router and see if it has OpenDNS configured. You may have to consult your ISP's technical support to remove OpenDNS; this is most certainly not a Firefox problem; we can't help with WiFi router configuration unfortunately.
    Hope that helps!
    Happy Holidays!

Let's try a malware scan to see if we can knock out any redirecters you might have picked up.
Download and install the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hours on my Lenovo.)
Does the scan find any infections? If so, please paste the contents of the log file for the scan in a reply here so we can have a look.

    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide and AdwareMedic.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect everything targeting the Mac.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

  • Issue with Service Group Configuration for a BPM Process

    Hi,
I am working on BPM processes on CE 711. I need to use the Service Group settings. I created a BPM process with a automated activity that maps to an enterprise service in HU2 (SAP ES Workplace system).
After setting up the configuration in NWA for service registry and service group, I run the BPM process. The Enterprise Service runs into error and log records it as 'No matching BindingData is found for SOA smart configuration'. I have done most of the configuration as recommended but the matching end point
url seems to be picked wrongly [http://erp.esworkplace.sap.com/sap/bc/srt/xip/sap/ecc_employeebasicdbyemployeeqr?sap-client=800] .
I could not get any info on notes search and could not get much info about service group config. Any help here is greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
i just got an answer on my ticket. Here it is:
There is a known issue with the upper case of the endpoint published in
the Services Registry and in the WSDL.
Before SP2 the matching for the binding for invocation is done
by the endpoint url. There is a known issue that the endpoint published
in the Services Registry is with lower case of the characters but in theWSDL the endpoint is with upper case. In your case the endpoint url in
the Services Registry is as shown in the exception above:
    http://erp.esworkplace.sap.com/sap/bc/srt/xip/sap/ecc_srvcreqcrtrc?sap-client=800
but in the WSDL the endpoint url is with upper case of the endpoint:
    ../ECC_SRVCREQCRTRC/..
Because of this difference the call fails. This is fixed is 711 SP2.
Workaround for this is if you create a Provider System based on your
WSDL, not a Services Registry one.
    Hope that helps...
    Best regards
    Michael

  • How to save web service request key and response value in cache to reduce calling the service for same type of requests

    Hi

I need to save the key and the response value in cache for around 30mins

    if (cache.Contains(cacheKey))
    results = cache.Get(cacheKey);
    else
{ //calling the web service client
    using (service.webservice fd = new service.webserviceContractClient())
{ //Call the web service function to get the results
    results = fd.DataSearch(strParameters);
} //Create the cache expiration policy. I have created for 30 minutes.
    CacheItemPolicy cacheItemPolicy = new CacheItemPolicy();
cacheItemPolicy.AbsoluteExpiration = DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(30); //Add the response to the cache based on the key
    cache.Add(cacheKey, results, cacheItemPolicy);

  • Wccp web-cache -- can't get it working

I installed a Squid based caching appliance, by Stratacache. it supports GRE wccp redirect in transparent mode, I have it configured as wccpv2 using the Router's LAN ip address 10.250.1.2.
Every time I turn on the caching for a host (or the entire LAN) the internet breaks for whomever I turn wccp on. I have tried disabling CEF and have moved the cache to it's own router interface.

So I can see the packets redirected, the cache never sees them, the router and cache can ping each other, the cache and LAN clients can ping each other - am I missing something?

so I found the problem... hopefully this helps somebody else in the future... the problem is the redirected packets were sourced from the router multilink1 interface IP address and the cache was expecting them from the router fa0/0 interface, so it dropped them.
also the cache has a "spoof client IP" option that was on, because we prefer to do this for netflow, but, I don't think client-IP-spoofing works with the standard web-cache wccp service. It was causing internet problems so I turned the spoofing off and it works fine...
    hope this helps

  • Unable to start Web Cache service on Win2000

    Hi,
I am unable to start the Web Cache service.
On startup the service errors out with the error as follows
"The OracleiSuites_homeWebCache service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
I tried reinstalling 9iAS but still get the same error.
Please let me know how to resolve this.
    Thanks,
    Sudin

Could be a file descriptor limit problem. But this is the least of your problems. The biggest issue is that the version of Web Cache you are using is over 3 years old. You should upgrade to the latest 9.0.x version or simply download the standalone install from OTN. The URL is http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/ias/devuse.html
This version is backward compatible with prior versions of iAS.

  • Iip web-cache redirect command problem

    Hello,
There is sample in : http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/c3550/12112cea/3550scg/swwccp.htm
Fast Ethernet interfaces 0/2 to 0/5 are connected to the clients and they are configure as :ip wccp web-cache redirect in .And Fast Ethernet interface 0/1 is connected to the cache engine and it does not configure as : ip wccp web-cache redirect out.
    in : http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/fun_c/fcprt3/fcd305.htm
The sample in this doc is configure as :ip wccp web-cache redirect out.
I want to know the different of :ip wccp web-cahe redirect out and ip wccp web-cache redirect in. And in which condition I shall use ip wccp web-cache redirect out and in which condition I shall use ip wccp web-cache redirect in ?

    Sir,
The ip web-cache redirect in command is only a new addition in the late 12.1 and 12.2 train of IOS. Both commands do the same thing except the redirect in is on the interface where client sourced traffic enters the router and the redirect out is on the interface interface of the router. You do no use both at the same time.
My preference is for redirect in as the router does not need to route the packet because wccp picks the packet up on the incomming interface.
    Cheers
    Phil

That is my understanding as well. Technically you can modify Get View and check it back in, but this is bad practice for the reasons stated above (no lock placed on the user). Get View is better used if you need to read information about a user that is unlikely to change, but do not plan on modifying the user (for example: to check to see if the user has a certain LDAP object class which allows them access to some requested resource/activity).
