Open a file directly!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
i obtain the link to a file that i need to open. Now, i want to open the file directly. There is some method that can get the link and open it?? I will appreciate some ideas.

In the settings Adobe Bridge - in "open RAW-files by double-clicking in Adobe Camera Raw» box is checked. When you try any changes in the settings Adobe Bridge system displays a message:
Bridge's parent application is not active. Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.
The entire line of Adobe products on my computer updated to the latest updates. Previously, a family of products Adobe Photoshop on your computer is not set. Computer - PC, Windows 7 Enterprises.

Opening external files directly?(without prompting)

Hello,
I'm making a DVD menu in flash. It will open several kinds of files. .mov .avi . ppt . pdf etc.
But i want to open those files directly, without prompting. When i try to open non web files, a popup window appears, as shown in this screenshot: http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/5188/testtemp.jpg
Can i remove it?
I tryied to open the ppt file in the example with this ActionScript 2.0 code:

If you're publishing an executable you need to look into the FSCommand functionality and use it to "run" an exec command against your files. Using getURL prompts the system to open the file using the browser, and naturally the browser wants to download the file first.
Alternatively you can publish (if you have CS4 or up) a native executable using AIR 2.5 that can run simple load and execute the file but that's most likely more complex than just using FSCommand in your current project.

How can I make chromium to open PDF files directly in okular?

Hi all,
I switched from firefox to chromium and there is one thing that I would like to have solved: At the moment, the only way to open PDF files from the web is to first save them locally and open them afterwards from the chromium statusbar or from the chromium downloads tab (chrome://downloads/). Is there a way to configure chromium to open PDF files directly from a remote URL in okular?

Yes, I would like to know that as well. Here it tries to open pdf files with the adobe plugin but fails (grey window). It's especially annoying with javascript links that do not allow to use "save as".

Can I open Postscript Files directly in a browser?

Hi all,
the Acrobat plugin allows me to open pdf files directly in a browser. Acrobat can convert Postscript files to pdfs and then display them- but can I just get this in one step and display ps files directly in my browser?
We are using an electronic logbook that contains hundreds of images in .ps format and it would be extremely helpful not to open an external program all the time.

No Adobe software does this, and I'm not aware of any other software that provides a PostScript browser plug-in.
You could use the watched folder in Distiller to convert a folder full of PS files to PDF if that helps.

How come I can no longer open a file direct from Lightroom 4 to PS 5.1??

I use to be able to open a RAW file directly from Lightroom to PS, make my edits and then have the edited file resaved to Lightroom but no longer. Why?

Would suggest you to try the suggestions mentioned here. Lightroom: Edit In External Editor does not work/function
Also, make sure your Lightroom and Photoshop both are up-to-date.

Adobe not opening audio files directly anymore.

Hi folks. I have a slight problem when opening up wav files in Audition. For some reason after udating Windows Media Player, it tried to take over as the default program to open WAV files. So, I went into add/remove programs and tried to reset Audition's settings to be the default player. No luck. So, I reinstalled Audition and made sure to click on every file that I wanted to Audition to associate with and still no luck. When I double click on a wave file it opens Audition but there is still no waveform to be displayed. If I want to open the file, I have to right click the file and choose open, or edit with Audition for it to open.The Audition icon is still the default icon however.
Could anyone give me some advice on how to fix this mildly annoying problem?

I hate software that takes over your computer when you install and Windoze doesn't make it easy to fix sometimes.
Anyhow, another place to try if you're on Vista or Win7 (not sure about earlier versions):
Click on the icon to get the Start Menu and, towards the bottom of the right hand column, you should find "Default Programms" between Control Panel and Help & Support. Click on the "Associate a File type or protocol with a programme" option.
After that loads, you should have a list of programme extensions--scroll down until you get .wav, (and anything else you want Audition as the default for) click it and click on the Change Programme button. Select Audition either from the shortcuts offered or by browsing--and hopefully this might do it.

Why Firefox 3.6- continues openning PDF files directly without a prompt???

When I access a direct link to a PDF file, the browser loads the file without asking if I really need open it using Firefox.
The purpose was to download and save the file to my HD and not to visualize it on Firefox browser.
People have been reporting this issue since YEARS AGO and until today Mozilla never treated that issue as a vulnerability.

Thunderbird can not open .xlsx files directly from it.

OS: win 7 home premium
Programs: Microsoft Office 2010 Pro and Mozilla Thunderbird
- I can open directly from Thunderbird all the attachments except .xlsx. But when I save it on disk, opens just fine. .xls files do not have this problem. File association is ok. Please help!

Is it set up here:
Tools > Options > Attachments
Under 'Content Type'
Microsoft Office Excel 2010 workbook
Action: Use microsoft Office excel'
Note you can click on the action to see a drop down selection if you need to change it.
then click on OK
If it is not there then you need to set it up.
right click on attachment and choose 'open'
a window pops up asking what to do.
choose 'Open with' and either 'Microsoft Open XML converter'
(I have MS Office 2007 so can to use that option)
or better still select 'Microsoft Office Excel'
If the option is not available click on 'Other'
See if option is now available or click on 'Browse'
and in Microsoft Office, locate the Excel.exe file (it might be in a folder called 'Office 12 or another number) and click on 'Open'
select: 'Do this automatically for files like this from now on'
and click on OK

I am having issues with opening pdf files directly from website on safari.

i cant open any pdf files from safari. the page goes blank when the link is clicked.
the same, however, can be easily viewed upon and saved on chrome or firefox.

Back up all data.

Opening PDF Files in Adobe Reader XI directly from SharePoint 2013 Site

I am trying to open PDF files in Adobe Reader XI directly from a SharePoint 2013 document library using Internet Explorer 11. When I click the file name it immediately opens the file in Adobe Reader, however it is downloading and opening the file locally
from the Temporary Internet Files location. If I add a comment to the PDF file, and save it will perform a Save As and the location will default to the temporary folder.
If instead of clicking the file name, I click the ellipses in SharePoint, copy the file URL, and go to Adobe Reader, click File > Open and paste the link into the file name, Adobe Reader will correctly open the file directly from the SharePoint site and
prompt for "Open and Checkout, Open, or Cancel".
Is there a way to get it so that when I click the file in IE, I get the same functionality as a File > Open in Adobe Reader?

According to your description, you want to open pdf file in the Adobe Reader directly from document library.
I suggest you do as the followings:
1. In SharePoint Central Administration site, click Application Management->Manage Web Applications, select the web application for the site. Click Authentication
Providers, select default zone, and select Yes for "Enable Client Integration?".
2. click Site Settings-> Site collection features->"Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" click Activate
3. set the default open behavior for a document library by using the document library settings page.
4. Enable the “Adobe Arcobat SharePoint OpenDocuments Component”add-on in the IE11.
5. Add your current site URL to the trusted web sites in IE11.

Opening files directly from CC in CS6?

Hi,
Is there a way to login to your cloud account and open the files directly in CS6 without always having to download them?
Dropbox has software that allows you to do this.

Why Acrobat Reader doesn't open pdf-files from Safari?

I'm new Mac user and cannot find answer why I cannot open pdf-files directly from Safari. My Macbook OS X 10.9.3 and Safari is 7.0.4. Only way to open pdf-files is to download the content first and then open it. If I try to open it directly Acrobat says "Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the end user license agreement". I have downloaded Acrobat Reader several times already and cannot understand what I'm doing wrong.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
          Allow Plug-ins
Then click
          Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4

What is the difference in PS E12 between 'File Open' and 'File Open in Camera Raw' ?

Both routes launch a screen saying Camera Raw 8.3 - Canon EOS 5D Mark III?
Likewise on this screen there is 'Cancel' and 'Done' Buttons', what is the difference both close that screen.
I am assuming the 'Done' Buttons saves any manipulation of exposure or colours you may have made? and the 'Cancel' just forgets them?
Is there a manual for this product; that one can reference, screen by screen? explaining what each option actually does.

If you are opening a raw file (.CR2), both routes are identical, because you have to convert raw files in ACR anyway.

Cancel does cancel every edit you have started. You are back to the original file.
'Done' saves your edits, as you rightly assume.
'Open' saves the edits and send them to the editor for further editing if you want, for local retouch or using layers for instance.
'Alt Open' does not saves the edits, but sends the edited result to the editor.
'Save' is only used if you wish to convert the raw files to the DNG format.

Can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer on Windows 8.1

Hello,
after I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, I can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer (directly double clicking the file). The AcroRd32.exe runs in the background (2x !) as I see the processes in task manager, but there is no user interface visible. I have Acrobat
Reader 11.0.06, the desktop version (not Metro). I tried uninstalling the Acrobat reader and installing it again but this didn't help. The only way to open PDF files is to close the AcroRd32.exe from the task manager, open empty Acrobat Reader from the desktop
and then drag&drop the PDF file over that window. This is quite inconvenient. Is there a way to fix this issue so I can open PDF files directly from windows explorer?
