Open a page in a different window from an action

Hi all.
I have a problem.
I know that I can redirect an action to a page called Page.jsp, but I would like to know if there is a possibility that I can open this Page.jsp in another browser, using window.open from the action.
I can't do it from the page directly, because if I use an onClick instruction, the values of the parameters of the form are not going to be setted, because the form hasn't been submitted.
Any help will be really appreciated.

Hi,
Is it possible to force the forwardImmediately method to open the specified page in a new window? Like the Target Frame = _blank on the Link item.
I am unable to use JavaScript to do this.
Can forwardImmediately be modified to do this or can I create a link item on my page and dynamically fire it from with the processRequest method of my controller?

Open a URL in a new window from Flash

Looking for the simplest way to open a URL in a new window from Flash using AS3-CS3, Thank you.

The following line of code will do that...fill in the URL
navigateToURL(new URLREquest("http://www....", "_blank"));

After I have opened a page in a new window Firefox after a few secs return to the previous page.

I click on a link in one page to open another page in a new window. This happens and I am brought to the new window, but after 1-3 secs I am brought back to the original window.
To go to the new window I have to move the cursor to the list at the bottom of the screen and click on the entry for the new window.
This behavior started a few weeks ago (say early September).
The problem is consistent.

Opening the Visualizer into a different window

Hello every body
I would like to open the Visualizer into a different window, for example in the graphic window.
The idea is that I want to project the Visualizer but I want to keep one eye onto the list.
So to have two different windows. One for managing the play lists and one to show album artworks or Visualizer.
Is there any possibility?

I have a button which opens up another page and I am passing values through the button. But I want the new page to open up in a new window.
I know that we can make the button action type Redirect to a URL and put the target as blank, but in that case, I have to hard-code my entire website link in the URL, which is what I am trying to avoid.
Is there any way around this?

Hi,
I'm trying to understand exactly what you expect to happen for the page/window operation. Anytime a page/window is opened, I think there's a URL called. (I could be wrong.) I think you must have a URL. I suppose there are a couple different ways to open a page/window. You could call javascript from a Dynamic Action fired by the button.    For example, I have
javascript:callMyPopup(42,'42:P42_GOBACK_PAGE,P42_ROWID,P42_DSD_ID,P42_PROC_NM:&APP_PAGE_ID.,#ROWID#,#DSD_ID#,#PROC_NM#');
Where callMyPopup function defined in the Page's Header Text -- I'm on APEX 4.1.

How to Open BSP page in a new window?

I want to open this help page in a new window, so that alongwith the help page the user can
view other pages also simultaneously.

I have a link in my application which will open a contact form in a new window. This occurs by this mean :

In this page, we will fill a form and will send it by e-mail. All that is Ok.
What I would like, is to be able to pass some values to the new window so that it fills some fields in the contact form. With JavaScript I don't know how to pass the parameters to another window.
I tried too with cookies, but I don't have any knowledge in this domain.

is not javascript code, I can't replace my code by this one. This give me an error.

Opening remote page in new browser window

my applet used the browser window as its frame, that means there is nothing else but the applet. I need to call a page from the same server as the applet resides, but to display the page in a new browser window. The following code could do the job, but caused the browser to block the popup.

                        ("http://mydomain/mypage.jsp"),"_blank");I'm wondering whether I could access a servlet from my applet and let the servlet accomplish this and how to.
It would be also of interest whether it is possible to do the same with a page from a remote server and triggering the client to display the page in a new window.

Safari not opening any pages, just a white window screen.

Safari isn't opening any pages, the window just opens to a white screen. The wifi is working and says it is connected, i have as hooked an ethernet cable but its still just a white page.

Download the Safari 7.0.3 installer package and run it. You can download it in another web browser, if you have one, or on another computer (not an iOS device, but not necessarily a Mac) and transfer it to the affected machine via the network or an external storage device. Otherwise, if you have mail access, open the email notification of this comment, then see below.
Triple-click the word "curl" in the line below on this page to select the whole line:

Open a Form in a popup window from a PL/SQL portlet

I have a form that I want to open in a popup window from a URL in a PL/SQL portlet. What is the easiest way to do this? Are there any examples in here or on Metalink as to how to achieve this?

Is it a HTML page somewhere on a server with a HTML form on it? You can use javascript tags in ur link to do this maybe?
javascript:window.open('http://<server name>/page.htm','mywindow','width=400,height=200')
Obviously if this is a portal form you can also link directly to the show procedure no problems.

Open only page/iView in new window

Hi,
How can I publish a porta page (or iView) in a way that I can open the page/iView without the role menu? Or what kind of URL should I use to call the page (or iView).
In other words I want to achieve the same functionality which I get when I test the page or iView with the preview button in the portal content directory.
I assume that I still need to assign this page (or iView) to a role and then assign this role to the user (in order to get this working), but I don't want certain types of users to see the role menu. They just need to open the needed application from our Intranet.
I thought I could achieve this by using "URL navigation" but it still shows the role context menu.

Hi,
You say you have already checked with NavigationTarget option? What kind of iVIew it is? Why not pick the url link from the preview page itself? That will not show role based menu. The url u picked can be added as link to ur intranet page. You have to decide on authentication though. If you want user to click the link and enter portal username and password to see the iView, then u can keep default settings. Else you can make the iView as anonymous iView by setting it in iView properties.

UIX question: Open printable page in a new window

I am using 10.1.2 version of JDeveloper with UIX/ADF.
In one of the UIX pages, I am using a submit button to fire an event named printMe to open the uix page in a printable format.

</event>But, understandably this takes out all the links in the page and the only way to go back to the original page is to use the back button (which users might find unintuitive). I was wondering if there is a way to make the printable page to open in a new window?
I don't think using the destination or onClick attributes of the submitButton with the javascript:openWindow() function would achieve this. Because this still loads the page in a 'printable' format in the same window and opens a new window in the 'non-printable' format.
I would like to know, if there is a way to direct the printable facet to open in a new window leaving the original page as-is, so the users can print, close the new window and resume using the application.
Or is there a better way to handle this, as I am open to ideas if there is a better way to address this usability issue.

assume that in order to view the report in the page, you should change the where clause of a view object for example (this is dependent on how and what settings you want to make for the page. it does not have to be like this, it is dependent on how you prepare data, perhaps you do not have to prepare anything at all, i do not know what code you have).
So, assume that in order to view the print report, your code was something like this:
public void onViewReport(DataActionContext ctx)
ViewObject V=GetView(); //
V.setWhereClause("myfiled=123"); //
V.executeQuery(); // these steps used for preparing data
ctx.setActionForward("printpageforward"); // go to print page
Now you remove this code , go to the print page, and override the print page prepareModel method with something like this:
protected void prepareModel(DataActionContext actionContext) throws Exception
super.prepareModel(actionContext);
ViewObject V=GetView();
V.setWhereClause("myfiled=123");
V.executeQuery();
Now you add the script to your button to show the print page in a new window, and that is it. your print page should work fine.

Linking a page as a browser window from a drop-down menu item

I have tried to link from a drop-down menu item to link to a small browser window instead of a full page. I tried using the "behaviors" but I got both the regular page and the browser window. Is there a way to make it just the browser window.

I tried that target=_Blank" but I still got the regular page plus the small browser window . I got rid of the Behavior for now. My aim is to would display the page in a simple 450 wide x 450 long browser window with a scroll bar with nothing else. If you can give me a code hint to do that, It would be appreciated. I'll figure out the rest.
My HTML coding skills are limited, as I'm used to using FP.(FP seems to be to the Web circles as the Bard's Scottish Play is to the theatrical world)
