  • How to call an applet on click of a button in core java?

    On this, I suggest that if we can call commond prompt on background and then pass the path of the class file of another applet we can open another applet on clicking on the button what u says ? if any suggestions or code u can give it is our pleasure to know that.

    If you are asking if you can execute an external process (application/applet) from another application/applet - the answer is yes and no.
    Yes. If you have the security settings/policy to do so.
    No. This may require a security policy to be allowed - as an applet.

  • Open a form from a 3rd party Java/Web based application

    Hi All,
    I am working for a client who has a 3rd party web application built in Java.
    For one of his requirements, he wants to open a form, an apps standard form on the click of a button/url in their application.
    This appears like a normal form opening from the single-signon screen where you have the self service single sign-on page, it opens the apps forms on click of the url. Can we use the same logic here? This being the case, just curious to know how is the url to open the form built? (I see that the function name, resp id etc are there in the url) So that, I can actually manipulate the url to open the forms from a url. Please see that the custom application also is included into our Oracle apps, so the user is already logged in. We just need to open the form from the click of a url/button.
    Thanks,
    Srini.
    Thanks,
    Srini.

    If the ICX_SESSION is already available then the form(I am assuming you are refering to a web based form here) should open directly if the function should be accessible to the user logged in. When you say your custom application is included in Oracle apps are you launching these pages from the Ebiz home page through menus and functions ?

  • Opening a project from version control

    RH11 | WebHelp
    This may be related to my previous post (File Status "New version available") but I am now unable to open a project from version control using the padlock button in RoboHelp's Open Project dialog box. It lets me select a project to open, but then just sits there, not doing anything.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Jonathan

    This sounds like a bug to me. Does the RH11 work on a Windows 7 machine? If you have a VMWare lying around, you may want to give that a shot. Short of contacting Adobe with a bug report, I'm out of idea's.
    Kind regards,

  • Opening a browser from an applet

    I got a problem, I want to open a browser from my applet, but I just found one way:
    getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL(
    "http://www.java.sun.com"), "_blank");
    but the problem is: with this, the default browser with defaul settings is opened, and that's what I don't want...
    how can I open the browser with some settings (for example size, or no-url-bar, etc)
    thx for help

    hi,
    try this code:
    public void showDocument(java.net.URL url, String targetWindow)
    when targetWindow can be:
    "_blank" Display the document in a new, nameless window.
    "windowName" Display the document in a window named windowName. This window is created if necessary.
    "_self" Display the document in the window and frame that contain the applet.
    "_parent" Display the document in the applet's window but in the parent frame of the applet's frame. If the applet frame has no parent frame, this acts the same as "_self".
    "_top" Display the document in the applet's window but in the top-level frame. If the applet's frame is the top-level frame, this acts the same as "_self".

  • Opening a socket from an applet

    I tried to open a socket from an applet to a server on a remote computer and I've got a refusal message.
    When I try it on a server in the local machine, it works.
    What could be the problem ?
    P.S. : when I open the socket from an application in the Java environment, to the same remote server it works ok.

    this is part of the security system built into java and Applets
    unless you sign an Applet it cannot do many "dangerous" things, like..
    access the loacl file system
    connect to any server except the server that it came from

  • [NEWBIE] How to open a frame from an Applet?

    Hi, I'm trying to open a JFrame from an Applet. Basically, I would like that, once the user selects an option from a JMenu, a Frame would be shown with a text box where user could type some content.
    I built both the Applet and the Frame, and singularly they work. When I execute the main method from the JFrame, the window appears, but when I execute something like the following from the applet:
    MyFrame mf = new MyFrame();
    mf.setVisible(true);nothing is shown. I'm sure that I don't know something, but I just started with applets.
    Thanks for any help,
    Marco

    If MyFrame is a subclass of JFrame, then it should not
    make any difference.
    What do you need the JFrame for? Can this be done
    using another "screen" by using a CardLayout?From a menu, when the user selects 'Start game' I need a text box coming out so that the user can insert a word. This word should then evaluate an instance member of the Applet.

  • How to open an Applet from a text link in a HTML Page

    Hi There
    How to open an Applet from a text link
    in a HTML page
    For example I have a HyperLink "Open Applet"
    When a user clicks that link i want to open a
    Applet in a AWT Window.
    How can i do this
    Will any one help me?
    -Ramya

    u can use javascript for that
    <SCRIPT language="javascript">
    function loadAppNow() {
    document.write("<APPLET ......></APPLET>")
    </SCRIPT>
    LoadApplet
    this will overwrite the applet on current window
    There are many good ways other than document.write to open in same window. I don't remember the syntax right now.
    Plz. refer to javascript tutorial for that.
    even you can insert the applet while retaining previous contents. its quite easy actually.

  • Opening one applet window from another

    Hi everyone,
    Can anyone provide any pointers about how I can open one JApplet from another (say, on a button click). I am new to applet development and I searched for examples on this forum and google, but could not find anything relevant.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Hi Dear
    Just use this simple commmand.
    String url;
    url1 = "http://<Name of the HTML page>"
    try {
    getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL(url1), "_blank");
    } catch(Exception e) {e.printStackTrace();}
    This will prompt another browser. In this browser write u r applet code & load the class file.
    One thing more this will not work in the case if you are using appletviewer , it will only work when you running u r applet over the network.
    In case you wana test with appletviewer then initiate the browser from the system .... In that case you have to search the net.

  • Opening an applet from a java desktop application

    I have an applet and I've seen some fairly complicated methods (for me) of making the main class hybrid and open as both an applet and an application. Isn't there a simple way o having a class with a main method to open the applet class in an applet viewer or maybe the browser? Then I could compile it and run the same jar file as both an application and an applet. What is the simplest way you can think of to do this?

    The simplest was is to put all that GUI stuff into a JPanel, and not a JFrame or JApplet. That way, you can embed it in anything you like.
