Open Director with specific panel set
Hi,
It is possible to set the default configuration of Director?
In other words it is possible open Director with specific panel set?
If yes how?
Thanks.
1. First, get the layout you want.
2. Go to
Edit > Preferences > General....
3. Click the checkbox - Save Window Positions On Exit.
4. Exit Director.
5. Open Director and go back to the General Preferences and uncheck the Save Windows Position property.
Now when you close Director, it won't save the positions and will used the last saved setup.

Can we open schedule with specific members?
Hi,
Is it possible to open an input schedule with specific members of dimensions selected?
We know it can be done by using EvHOT, but is there any other method?
more specifically, we want every user to open schedules with Periodic is selected as the member of Measures dimension.
Thank youIn addition to (or instead of) the previous reply, I suggest using
eTools --> Workbook Options
(also in the current view bar as "Set Workbook Options").
Check "Save the active session CV with this workbook".
It will keep the current view (CV) that you are using when you save the workbook, so it will reopen with that same view, instead of what the user has pre-set.
I also recommend hard-coding the Periodic option within the control panel itself, so it does not refer to the CV. -
How to open pdf with bookmarks panel showing?
Hi all,
I have searched and had no luck. I found a helpful a post but it did not help in my case. I need my PDF that I created via LiveCycle to open with bookmarks panel showing. I tried (control+D) File > Properties >initial View but the features/options are all disabled.
The file is not passport protected and I created myself.
Any help/tip provided would be very much appreciated,
AdnanPaul,
Thanks for your quick response. It works; however, it prompts to save changes even to file even if I make no changes to it.
I created a button to save changes (code below) but it still prompts.
app.execMenuItem('Save');Named: Action=SaveAs;
Thank you,

Hello,
Whenever I export to PDF from Autocad, Adobe Acrobat opens the PDF with the 'Layers Panel and Page' shown.
Each time I have to manually go to 'Properties' and select 'Page only', close 'Properties' and close the PDF and select to save the changes, in order to show the just the page.
Is there a way to make PDFs always export to 'Page only' automatically as default?
Thanks!
IoneThakns Peter, I had seen this thread, but it doesn't really address my issue. I've exported individual chapters from the book file, all with success, so I know there isn't a file corruption issue. The problem seems to do more with memory allocation/usage.
I have tried: quitting and then immediately exporting the file, and even rebooting and then relanuching and exporting. Both of these allow me to get a few pages farther along, but still not through the entire book.
I remember back in the day there used to be a setting for how much RAM/dis c space was allocated to a certain applicatino (I knowm it was a long time ago). I didn't know if there might be something like this hidden somewhere -
Can't save/update advanced action with specific slide set to jump to
Using version 6. Experienced with Advanced Actions, but no clue what's causing this. If I include a "Jump to Slide" pointing at a certain slide in the project the action will not save or update. I can point at any other slide except the one I need. Nothing especially unique about the slide in question.
When you save/update, does it give any error/prompt?
Try creating a fresh script just with the action to jump to 'that' slide.
Also check from a regular button, if you can set on Success to jump to the particular slide.
Thanks,

Open Specific Panel From Remote Page
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/collapsiblepanel/collapsible_panel_sample. htm
Example 4 from the above link.
The 'Open Panel' text link.
How can I take this link and place it on a page [which
contains no Collaspible Panels] so that when a user clicks on it -
the link will redirect to a 2nd page that contains Collapsible
Panels and open a specific Panel without compromising the basic
functionality of the Panels on the 2nd page ??
*NOTE -- The Panels on the 2nd page have been modified to be
Closed at the time of page load and also the Animation has been
disabled.Thanks Don.
I checked out what you were talking about and it makes sense.
I used something similar a few months back on some tabbed panels
actually. Didn't think about applying it to Collapsible Panels.
Except that I'm not sure how to translate it over to a
Collapsible Panel.
Tabbed Panels Example
?panel=4#examples
But the C.P. are not contained inside of a group to make a
complete set. On the Spry Example Page from the link in my above
post they have put the C.P. into a group - to make it function. But
again this only seems to work when the link is on the same page as
the Collapsible Panels.
The panel call after the question mark "?" doesn't work and I
don't know what to swap it with. I also tried to put my C.P. into a
group and hope it would accept the order [for lack of a better
term] of the Panels and that did nothing either.
I am profienct with XHTML and CSS but rather weak in
JavaScript.
So is there anyway you or someone could translate your
"theory" if possible ?
Thanks. -
I have been using the Firefox feature in which I could have multiple sets of tabs open but see only the set I was working with. I updated and now feature is gone. I had a small icon on the upper right side of my toolbar. I used it all the time to keep separate windows for news, financial items, travel plans, etc. Has this been removed from Firefox?
Hi,
The [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-organize-tabs Tab Groups] feature is still present. You can try to right-click the + after the last tab and [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars Customize]. If the icon is hidden behind another, or if it's available inside the Customize mini window, you can place it back. If the problem persists, you can also try to '''Reset toolbars and controls:''' and '''Make Changes and Restart''' [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode] start screen. -

Don't know about ADF 11g R2
However with ADF 11g R1 11.1.1.6 exists a patch and a web.xml context param to solve it.
Applying patch and setting next context param in web.xml is solved:
<context-param>
<param-name>oracle.adf.view.rich.HIDE_UNSUPPORTED_BROWSER_ALERTS</param-name>
<param-value>IECompatibilityModes</param-value>
</context-param>Don't know if it runs in ADF 11g R2 apps.

Problems changing the Open with... setting
Hi,
Having recived my new MacBook Pro with the trial version of Office 2004 I removed this using the remove utility as I have the full version of Office X.
However, I get the error code -10660 when I try and open documents. I have tracked this down to the fact that the default Open with... setting is Word 2004 etc.
I can manually select the correct program to open these files with, but when I set it so that all files with .doc open with this older version of Word it defaults back to the new version. (I am using the Change All... option under the Get Info option).
If I manually do this using Open with.. for each file it works, but this is both time consuming and silly.
iMac G5, MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.5)Missed the post above. Running this at the terminal did fix the problem:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/\
Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister \
-kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
The question was, why should I have had to have done this!! -
If I click a link to a PDF from Firefox 3.6.10 it tries to open it with Acrobat 8 and fails, while if I double-click in a folder it correctly opens with Reader 9.1
If I try to open with Acrobat 8 from folder it won't work either, but why doesn't Firefox use the default program?Go to Tools|Options|Applications. The first 4 entries relate to Adobe. Make sure that the association is for your 9.1 version. If it's not, click the association that is showing. You will get a downward pointing triangle at the right. Click on it and see if 9.1 is listed. If so, select it. Do the same for the other Adobe items.
You might also want to check "Folder Options" in the Windows Control Panel. In the "File Types" tab you will find all of the file extensions and the programs they are associated with. Scroll down to the PDF extension and insure it's associated with an "Adobe Acrobat Document. If not, click on the <change> button and find adobe in the program list.
Just to let you know, Adobe Reader is now up to version 9.4. You can go to Adobe's website to download the latest.

SSRS export to PDF errors out with one specific data set
I have a SSRS report that fails to export to a PDF file with a particular set of data. The PDF export works great with every other set of data that we have run through it. The suspect report/data can be viewed fine and exported to other formats
without issues.
It almost appears that the PDF export has issues with how the data falls on the page. If I change the top/bottom margin size, increase the length of the report by adding whitespace or increase/decrease the size of the header/footer, the report will
export to PDF without any issues.
We are currently using SQL Server 2008, SP3 CU12.
This is the error log that occurs for the export:

Hi GravityJunky,
Based on the error message, the object reference is not set to an instance, it is typically caused by one or more of the following reasons:
There are soft page breaks within empty lists in the report.
There are hidden groups within the report and you tried to export it to PDF.
There are text boxes with a width and/or height of zero in the report.
A text box is either hidden or the NoRows property is set to true.
A text box spans table cells where some cells have a collection of null values.
The report has static columns and/or rows and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true.
The report has static columns and/or rows and there are grand totals in the report.
The report has static column headings and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true.
The matrix report has multiple columns and rows and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true and you tried to export to PDF.
To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Review the specific error contained within the message and then, depending on the message, review your report.
If the problem is related to soft page break issues, try increasing the page height, reducing the first row height, or reducing the number of header rows.
If the problem is related to errors when rounding the image size up or down, try slightly increasing the page header height so that it is different than the image height, or try changing the image size to fit better.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Wendy Fu

Somewhere my "T" key is set as a keyword and everytime I type a t, I have a blank search open up with a tab. Impossible to use for email.
Is it only T? Does pressing N open a new window, and does R reload the page?
The most likely reason for this is that the CTRL key is held down - see [[Keyboard shortcuts]] for information on what should happen when keys are held down together.
If a key isn't stuck or being held down, an extension could be the cause. See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] to troubleshoot. -
Open executable [.exe] vi at windows with specific file
Hello!
I would like to know how to open executable vi, made with Application
Builder, at windows [Win 2000] if I have file with specific extension [let's
say ].
I have seen some article at NI Developer Zone but I cat find that now.

Zbigniew StSYes you can get the command-line args, but this only works when first launching the application. It will not work if the application is already running. For this, you need to message into the running application using some other mechanism. Most apps use DDE for this.
Here is a utility that will allow you to get the command-line arguments using a WinAPI call:
http://www.openg.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Command Line Arguments
Also, if you are using LabVIEW 7.0 you can get the command-line arg's using the VI Server property "App::Command Line Arguments".

The way to open 3D pdf with specific model selection from url link
I guess this feature is not supported, but let me ask one thing.
I am looking for the way to open 3D pdf with specific model selection from url link.
For example, if the following link is opened, is it possoble to open 3d.pdf with automatic selection of "abc" model in the model tree?
http://example.org/3d.pdf#model=abc
If it can be done by javascript, it's really helpful.Impossible. There are only very limited command-line options for the Acrobat Family and you cannot change them.

Open vi file with specific Labview version using batch file (Windows)
I want to open certain vi with using Windows batch file and to use specific version of Labview development system. I tried
"C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\LabVIEW.exe" "path_to_vi"
"C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\LabVIEW.exe" "path_to_vi"
to use 32-bit and 64-bit development systems respectively. However Labview opens file with version which was last used before. Are there any ways to force it use specified version? No, it's a VI I wrote so that when I open any VI from Windows Explorer it will open it in correct version of LabVIEW according to it's source version (rather than the latest/last version of LabVIEW I opened). All it does to launch the right version of LabVIEW is to call System Exec with the path to the correct version of the LabVIEW.exe and the path to the VI - which is essentially the same as what your batch file is doing.
