Open G version updates, any trouble?

Hi,
I've been resisting integrating any Open G tools into our project for some time, because I'm afraid of future updates of the libraries breaking things in the code.  But I see there are a couple things in there that I need, and would take me considerable time coding from scratch.  So I have a question for those that have used Open G over the years:  Have you experienced significant problems from opengl library updates breaking things in your code, which you've spend considerable time fixing/working around?  I looks like the VI package manager queries what versions are the latest and installs from there.  I see no way to download a comprehensive "package" that we can use, and not have to worry about  it changing.  Is there one?    I am responsible for 6 test stations, all running identical
teststand/labview code, and I'd prefer to source control a snapshot of
the entire open G package.  Then I could test new "packages" as they come out on one machine, before installing on all.

Interesting question you bring up (and valid ones as well).
As OpenG developers we have the policy that an upgrade of a package should never lead to altered results or behaviour. If code should improve and making the improvements changes inputs/outputs a new version of the VI is built with a new name (see  OpenG Wiki)
If such behaviour is found by an OpenG user please report!
I have never had issues with upgrading OpenG packages in the way you mention (breaking code, altering style).
If you are worried you could take advance of VIPC functionality of VIPM, making stale library packages for a given project.
What I advice on several test stations is working with executables. Of every build you distribute you create a source distribution with everything of that application (even vi.lib files) since any VI can change how hard everyone tries to keep them compatible, for instance a VI might have a bug that you unintentionally exploit, the bug gets fixed and your code might be altered.

    Pages 5.0 and 10.9.
    While App Store tells me there is no update avalable to Pages, which it says was installed Nov. 4, its the old Avatar/logo thingo and, as I say, it will not open the Pages docs created on my MacBook, which definiitely does have the new Pages running smoothly.

    Chances are you are looking at the place holder of a large image. Go to the preferences and check that View Large Images is checked.

    If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

    If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

    Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
        1.    Install the latest version of iTunes.
        2.    Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
        3.    Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
        4.    Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
        5.    If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

    I have Vista, recently switched from Internet Explorer to FireFox 3.6-. Since switching over, it can't download alot of versions/updates like Adobe Flash: It error messages: "INSTALLER WILL CONTINUE AFTER CONFLICTING MOZILLA FIREFFOX IS CLOSED".
    Most pics blocked on sites/programs. I can't open some programs that Explorer opens. I would sure appreciate any help!!!

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
    If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
    which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases. Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

    iTunes (Win7 x64) is no longer opening after the latest version update - I have attempted an un/reinstall - can anyone offer other suggestions?
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit, and am trying to reinstall the 64-bit iTunes from the iTunes website.  I previously have had this working for the last few years with no major issues, the Apple Software Updater has been pestering me for some time so I finally got it to update.  However now iTunes will not start, if I select the icons nothing happens.  There are no iTunes applications running in the background in Task Manager either.
    I look forward to your suggestions.

    1. First check if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
    Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
    Now open itunes and see if it is working?
    If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
    MSCONFIG
    Hit ENTER
    Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
    Restart Windows.
    2. If that fails, refer to following article to remove SC Files

    3.  If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime.  START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REAPIR.

It also tells me that home sharing isn't on even though it is and then I have to turn it off and on on the PC so the Apple TV even recognizes the photo library.     Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'.     Followed the instructions to the foot of the page, restarted PC, normal service resumed on windows firewall, added itunes to list to communicate through firewall. restarted itunes, restarted appletv, success!!!

    You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
    Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
    Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
    You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
    Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
    Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
    Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
    All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
    Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
    Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

    That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
    So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
    First we'll need to change some view settings.
    In your Start menu, open Computer.
    In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
    In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
    Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
    If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
    What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)
