Open java files in Jdeveloper

Hi,
Good day
I have a question about OAF under Oracle ERP version 11.10.5.2
I have some web pages working fine, and I can see the code in the server (in the custom application folder under java). How can I open them in my client? If I open them in the JDeveloper they appear under miscellaneous node not under a workspace or a project. How can I do that?

Dear All,
I am not really sure which file i should open first? the Controller, Application module, Entity object or View object?
or I need to open another file?
Thanks for the help

  • Open .java file in already open JDeveloper

Is there a way to force JDeveloper to open all source files in only one JDeveloper window? I am working on a project and every once in a while I download a java source sample from the web. It would be good that instead of JDeveloper opening a brand new window, it would just add it to the Miscellaneous Files branch in the already open JDeveloper window.
Thanks in advanced for any suggestions. Hopefully there is another way than having to save the file to disk and then going through JDeveloper's import menu.

  • Associating .java files with JDeveloper in Windows

Is there some mechanism via by which I can load a .java file in a currently instance of JDeveloper (905p) on Windows (2K) from the command line?
I want to be able to associate .java files with JDeveloper with appropriate actions defined, so that when I double-click on a .java file in Windows Explorer, it gets opened up in the currently running JDeveloper instance ... rather than opening a new instance of JDeveloper?
    Thanks

    Hi,
There's no easy way to do this at the moment. However, in the 10g production release, functionality has been added to associate .java files (and other artefacts e.g. .jpr files) with JDeveloper.

  • Unable to open ant file using JDeveloper

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3 production (version 10.1.3.0.4 build 3673) and I am having difficulty understanding the way ant build files are handled by this version.
I would like to open ant files (build.xml) just like any other XML file so that I can edit it from the JDeveloper. But I am not able to do it, because the build.xml is at the root of the my application directory structure and trying to add that application root directory to the project contents results in directory with .java files getting added (but not the root directory itself, which has the build.xml file). Of course, I can add a dummy Something.java file under the root directory to cheat JDeveloper into adding this root directory to project contents directories.
But I am wondering whether there is a better way to do this?

You are adding the directory in the "Java Content"
Try expending the Project Content and adding the directory under Resource.

  • Opening jsp files in JDeveloper as source

Does anyone know how to open jsp/jspx files in JDeveloper (10.1.3.4) as source, by-passing the design tab? For some reason with some files my IDE locks up when I open a file and it is generating the design screen. I want it to default to source mode for all files.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
Take a look at JDeveloper settings - change the default code editor view for JSPx  files .

  • How to create JAVA Class file from an exisitng JAVA file in JDEVELOPER

    Hi All,
I have a file called abc.java and i need to generate a class for the same using JDEVELOPER. Please help me what are the steps to be followed. I'm totally new to JAVA and first time working on JDEVELOPER tool.
    Thanks in Advance !

Being completely new to something is not an argument (or shall we be honest: an excuse?) to not read the manual.
Just to note: I would pick Eclipse or Netbeans if you're completely new to java. You'll have more chance of finding help either in forums, mailing lists or Google searches. But if you must stick with JDeveloper, the forum is here:

  • Cannot open any Java files on my Mac OSX: Problem Solved

    Hello all,
I have just begun an Introduction to Java class and I'm already having problems...namely, I cannot open .java files on my Mac.
Whenever I try to open them, I get an error message that says: "You cannot use this version of the application Xcode with this version of Mac OS X."
I'm running version 10.5.4 on a PowerPC Mac. It's a few years old, but I don't understand how it could already be so outdated as to not allow me to even use the application.
I am 100% new to programming and don't really know at all what I'm doing. Apple says their JDK comes with every Mac and no one else seems to be having this problem. I don't really even know where to go to for updates, if that is what I need to do, or if I should just download a different JDK.
This is an intensive (6-week) class and I don't want to fall behind, but it's halfway through the first week and I cannot even open files.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I figured out the problem by getting out my installation disks and I found the latest xCode tools app in the "optional packages" folder.
Installed it and now I'm up and running.

You can download Adobe Reader from adobe.com.  The Mac OSX uses its "reader" to open PDF files without the Adobe Reader.  If you downloader adobe reader, it should open all PDF files.  Hope this helps.

  • How to get the .class file for the extended Controller .java file

    Hi,
    I did the below steps.
    1. Created New OAWorkspace
    2. Created New project
    3. Imported the page .xml file
    4. Added new .java file by extending the controller class
    5. Added code in the .java file.
    6. Ran the .xml file
As I copied all the folders from Unix box, the page was opened.
But My question was where can I see the .class file the extended controller. It's a .java file. How to compile and get the .class file for this .java file. If I get this .class file, I can go to the page and click the personlize page. and change the Controller name to the new path by ftp ing the new class to the cust.oracle.apps.pos.changeorder.webiui.
Please let me know how to create the .class file.
    Thanks,

All are Java files are stored in JDEV_INSTALL_DIR:\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\
In your case the path java would be
    JDEV_INSTALL_DIR:\jdevhome\jdev\ myprojects \cust\oracle\apps\pos\changeorder\webui\
    AND
Once you compile the java file in Jdeveloper, Class files get generated @ below path
In your case the path of class would be
    JDEV_INSTALL_DIR:\jdevhome\jdev\ myclasses \cust\oracle\apps\pos\changeorder\webui\

  • Java files open in SQL Developer instead of JDeveloper

    JDEV 10.1.3
    Windows XP
When I double click a java file, it opens in SQL Developer instead of JDeveloper.
When I right click a java file, and select 'Open With'->jdeveloper, the java file always opens in SQL Developer instead of JDeveloper.
I've tried browsing and choosing all the different executables: jdevw.exe, jdev.exe, jdeveloper.exe. No luck on any of them.
    Any help here? Thanks!

Thanks, but that didn't work. I noticed that the "open" action for java file extension is, in fact, set to use the jdeveloper.exe (I also tried jdev.exe and jdevW.exe).
Note: even if I run the jdeveloper.exe on the command line, with a java file as the argument, the java file still opens in SQL Developer, if it is running. (Otherwise it uses JDeveloper)
It's as if JDeveloper and SQL Developer are somehow coupled in the opening of files.

I have just installed JDeveloper on a OEL 5 VM, and when I try to open or create a basic application I get a series of errors claiming that that java could not open jar files, which ultimately ends in the app dying, claiming that it has too many open files. The failures below were generated using the wizard to create a brand new "Java Desktop Application (ADF)" application. I used all default values on installation, including the bundled Java SDK. I am trying to familiarize myself with JDeveloper in preparation for a new development project, and would like to use Oracle technology since Pillar is now a part of Oracle.
