Open Node in Treee componenet

I want to go to select a particular node of the tree
component when i click
a button.
The tree is having dataProvider XML with 3 levels of nodes
.that is node
inside node inside node type structure
<node>
<node1 attribute="................." >
<node11>
<node111>
<node1111></node1111>
</node111>
</node11>
</node1>
<node2 attribute="................." />
<node3>
<node31>
<node311></node311>
</node31>
</node3>
</node>
The problem is that the node dosent get selected in one go if
its parent
nodes are not open.
I am using myTree.setIsOpen and myTree.selected but the node
doesnt get open
if parebt nodes arenot visible.Someting to do with
getDisplayIndex and index
of nodes.
Can anyone suggets.

I have solved it myself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its near impossible to get a Advanced datagrid to remember its opened nodes when it has fresh data

    Theres a post in
    http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg85521.html//www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg85521.html
    which is basically saying its near impossible to get a Advanced datagrid to remember its opened nodes when it has fresh data
    I'm having pretty much the same problem (exept I'm not filtering just getting the latest data from the server)as this guy and have been searching for a solution, heres what he said:
    Sun, 02 Mar 2008 08:07:46 -0800
    Hello guys,
    I'm trying to filter my ADG without success :
    I created a GroupingCollection from a flat ArrayCollection.
    ADG's dataProvider is GroupingCollection.
    First issue : refresh
    if I filter the underlaying ArrayCollection, the related
    groupingCollection doesn't refresh automatically (bug? feature?)
    Actually I menaged to force gc.refresh() with some event( it is
    impossible to listen on CollectionEventKind.REFRESH because of
    infinite loop ac.refresh => gc.refresh )
    Second issue (more important) : openNodes
    Ok now that my gc is refreshed, the Tree in the ADG collapses itself
    (ok let say that is normal), and I need it to expand all nodes that
    were opened before.
    I tried to do something like this :
    var openNodes : Object = IHierarchicalCollectionView(
    myADG.dataProvider ).openNodes;
    gc.refresh();
    myADG.dataProvider.openNodes = openNodes;
    and it doesn't works.
    next I tried this :
    var openNodes : Object = IHierarchicalCollectionView(
    myADG.dataProvider ).openNodes;
    for each( var node : Object in openNodes )
    IHierarchicalCollectionView( myADG.dataProvider.openNode( node )
    guess what, doesn't work
    I'm calling myADG.invalidateList() each time too.
    I don't know what to do to achieve this simple task, I'm a bit
    disappointed because I expected lot more from the brand new
    AdvancedDataGrid and this basic functionality actually seems too hard
    to implement.
    I still hope I'm wrong and someone can show me the correct solution
    Thank you all,
    Adnan

    Hi,
    I remember the days when Oracle would practically give Oracle Financial s away just for the implementation consulting fees.
    Yeah, IBM used to give-away DB2 also . . . .
    Oracle Financial s away just for the implementation consulting fees. Yeah, but any ERP requires massive set-up costs. I once worked on an SAP effort that cost over $20,000,000.
    complete with Microsoft head to headIn what? Oracle is far-and-away the world's most robust and flexible database, hundreds of times more powerful that SQL Server.
    IMHO, it's like apples-to-oranges . . . .
    Everyone is running SQL server Here, DICE shows over a hundred Oracle openings in the Boston area, that might help you:

    Excel is the tool of choice for accountants and its integration withcubes is nothing short of stunning
    Sorry, I must disagree! Yes, CPA's will download Oracle data into spreadsheets for analysis, but Excel is wanting, especially for hypothesis testing, correlational analysis and data mining. Oracle's ODM, however, is truly stunning, light-years ahead of PC-based tools:

  • Track open nodes in AdvancedDataGrid?

    I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question,
    but I didn't find anywhere more suitable ...
    In beta 1 the AdvancedDataGrid had an openItems attribute
    that one could reset after a change to keep the tree in the same
    state. Now that attribute is gone and I don't see any other way to
    accomplish the same effect.
    My use case is that I have an XML document as a hierarchical
    data source. I add nodes to it at run-time and need to refresh the
    ADG so that the new nodes show up. However on resetting the
    datasource the tree closes.
    Since the datasource is really the same one (just with new
    data) I was previously able to use openItems to reset the tree to
    the "open" state it was in before.
    Is there a better method for doing this? Or some way to get
    the tree to recognize new data without closing?
    Many thanks ...
    Paul

    You can use the openNodes property in
    IHierachicalCollectionView.
    openItems and openNodes are same. The difference being that
    the openNodes property is in IHierarchicalCollectionView instead of
    AdvancedDataGrid.
    And it was redundant to keep two properties to do the same
    thing.
    To reset openNodes use -
    IHierarchicalCollectionView(adg.dataProvider).openNodes =

  • Tree initial state - open node (WD for Java)

    Hello,
    I have a WebDynpro tree, which I am populating with all the data upfront before displaying it. However, for some reason, when the tree comes up, it is always open, selecting the first leaf (node without children) of the tree.
    When navigating away from this view and back, the all nodes are closed.
    Anyone know why this is the case, or what settings I must change? I am setting the expanded property correctly on all nodes.
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Martin,
    Tree is always follows lead selection of corresponding node. So first part of your problem can be resolved via setting initializeLeadSelection=false for nodes involved.
    Next thing that affects behavior is "expanded" property of Tree UI controls. If bound to boolean attrubte, expand/collapse state of Tree can be controlled programatically. Try this if removing lead selection does not solve your second problem.

  • How to re-open tree nodes after a refresh to AdvancedDataGrid's GroupingCollection?

    Hello,
    I have an AdvancedDataGrid, which has as it's dataProvider a
    GroupingCollection. The GroupingCollection's source is bound to an
    ArrayCollection. Items in the ArrayCollection can be edited.
    After a change to the ArrayCollection, I refresh() the
    GroupingCollection so it displays properly. Unfortunately, this
    collapses the tree of the AdvancedDataGrid, that is, the previously
    open nodes are no longer open. I would like to re-open the nodes
    after a refresh.
    In the code provided, I have attempted to save the nodes
    which were open before the refresh, perform the refresh, then
    re-expand the nodes with AdvancedDataGrid.expandItem(). But it
    didn't work, and I am stumped.
    Any ideas on how to expand nodes in the AdvancedDataGrid?
    or
    Any ideas on how to allow the user to modify a data item,
    including fields used as GroupingFields, in an AdvancedDataGrid?

    Yes, I try saving the nodes like this:
    //save the currently opened items
    openArray = new Array();
    for each(var obj:Object in advancedDataGrid.openItems)
    openArray = openArray.concat(obj);
    and then restoring them with the expand function:
    //expands the nodes which are passed in as the argument
    private var expand:Function = function(array:Array):void
    for each(var obj:Object in array)
    advancedDataGrid.expandItem(obj, true);
    Unfortunately, expandItem just seems to return without doing
    anything!

  • How to make bookmark tree open dynamically when moving in the content?

    Intro: When viewing a PDF-file with a bookmark tree, I can unfold(open) nodes in the bookmark tree and make the view window jump to the corresponding destination.
    If the bookmark tree is open (unfolded) I can observe a selection mark moving downwards in the bookmark tree as I move down in the content.
    Question: Is it possible to make the folded bookmark (outline) tree open dynamically as I move down in the content? I would like to see the bookmark tree unfold automatically and move the highlight to the bookmark (outline) node for the bookmark position nearest to (above) the view point in the content window.

    Dave,
    thank you for quick and precise answer.

  • Get the TreePath of a node?

    Hi,
    I need the TreePath of a node.
    I only know methods from JTree who support this.
    But they are not usefull in this case.
    Cause i use a kind of JTreeTable. There after a node is inserted i must call fireTreeStructureChanged, after this none of the tree methods like getSelectionPath work.
    The problem is that after the call of fireTreeStructureChanged the tree collaps all open nodes.
    I want that the node who got the last "input" should be visible after the insertion and all of its new childrens.
    Working with expandRow() won't work.
    So is there a way to get the TreePath with the TreeNode or the TreeModel?
    regards
    Olek

    Never mind,
    the problem is solved,
    i save the lead selection path after a mouse click.
    Then i insert some nodes and use the saved path to
    show this path with the added nodes.

    I've tried...
    - Closing all possible applications except for SQL Developer
    - Rebooting and running only SQL Developer
    - Ensuring SQL Developer is running using the included Java SDK
    I'm unsure of what to do next - In the past, I've been able to open 200-300mb SQL files without any issue, but since I've updated to SQL Developer 3 I'm suddenly experiencing these crashes.

    You are running out of memory. In the stack notice this line:
    Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
    Edit the sqldeveloper.conf file and add this
    AddVMOption -Xmx1024M
    That will bump it up some.

             Sometimes the SQL Developer  freeze

  • Collapsing Nodes of DTN

    Hi,
    My requirement for customizing DTN is as below:
    When the user clicks on any node in the DTN, all other open nodes except the parent node should close.
    For instance:
    Node A
    --child node A1
    --child node A2
    Node B
    --child node B1
    --child node B2
    When the user clicks on Node A, node B if open should close.
    When the user clicks on Node A1 ; node A2(if open) should close and node A should continue to remain open. Node B if open should also close
    I tried using the tag - <nav:navNodeParent navNode="myParentNode"> . However, I keep getting a Null pointer Exception.
    Code used:
    <nav:launchedNavNode navNode="myNode">                                             <nav:navNodeParent navNode="myParentNode">
                                         </nav:navNodeParent >
    </nav:launchedNavNode>
    Requesting to help with this requirement.
    Regards,
    Gaurav Narkar.

    Hi Srikanth,
    I am trying to modify this par. I have accomplshed the closing of all other parent nodes when opening a specific parent node.
    However, when i try to click on a child node , its own parent gets closed and I am not able to view this node.
    I tried using the tag -  <nav:navNodeParent navNode="myParentNode"> , but i get exception beacuse of the navNode attribute.
    Any idea on how to resolve this issue ?
    Regards,
    Gaurav.

  • How to open RAC node2 usng spfile which will stay in ASM disk?

    Hi,
    I have installed oracle 11g r2 rac with asm in two nodes. OS is hp-Unix.
    I have installed oracle11g Active Data Guard using Single alone Database.
    Both RAc and Active Data Guard works fine.
    I have not configure Data Guard Broker.
    N.B Rac node1 is running using spfile which is in ASM disk (+DATA/spfiledcpdb.ora) but node2 is running using pfile.
    Question: how to open node 2 using spfile which will stay in ASM disk like node 1?

    Modify your PFILE to specify only IFILE='location_of_spfile'
    OR
    use STARTUP PFILE='location_of_spfile'
    Ensure that the spfile does have the 2nd instance specific parameters defined correctly.

  • Tree component - center vertically?  double-click open?

    When I open nodes of the tree near the bottom, the new branches open down out of sight. Is there some way to make the tree bring a clicked node to the vertical center of the window?
    Also, is there a way to make nodes open and close by double-clicking?
    Thanks

    Double-click:
        <Tree id="tree"
                 doubleClickEnabled="true"
                 doubleClick="onDoubleClick(event)"
             ... />
                private function onDoubleClick(event:MouseEvent):void {
                    if (!tree.selectedItem) return;
                    tree.expandItem(tree.selectedItem, !tree.isItemOpen(tree.selectedItem));

  • Tree control erroneously displays nodes multiple times

    I'm attempting to use a Tree control to display some data.
    I'm using an HierarchicalCollectionView as the dataProvider. All
    the data displays, but it appears on the wrong level. For instance,
    on the root level, it displays the root node (correctly marked with
    the folder icon as having children), plus all the children (on the
    root level!) If I expand the root node, underneath it it displays
    its children as expected -- now there are 2 copys of all the
    children, one in the correct place and one at the root level. If I
    expand 2nd-level nodes, their children (and children's children,
    etc) display underneath them... the pattern continues. It looks
    like every level of the hierarchy displays ALL the nodes underneath
    it, no matter how many levels down.
    I think I know why this happens: a
    HierarchicalCollectionView's createCursor() function returns an
    IViewCursor that treats the collection as linear instead of
    hierarchical. The Tree then uses this cursor to visit every node in
    the tree, displaying it. When expanding a node, it again uses one
    of these linear-type cursors, but on the children of the node
    clicked on, so it displays all the children underneath it and their
    children, etc. This seems like a major bug in the library -- I'm
    pretty sure this isn't a problem with my code. Doesn't it seem
    natural to use a HierarchicalCollectionView with a Tree control?
    Has no one else ever experienced this issue? I'd expect it to work,
    especially since HierarchicalCollectionView extends
    ICollectionView, which is what the dataProvider wants. I've looked
    through the source of the Tree class (and List, and ListBase) and I
    think it all boils down to not using the dataDescriptor's
    getChildren() method and instead using createCursor() directly on
    the dataProvider. The dataDescriptor's getChildren() method returns
    an ICollectionView that correctly only contains the next-level
    nodes, not all of the ones all the way to the bottom of the
    hierarchy. I think the bad behavior is inherited from ListBase (and
    in that class, it actually makes sense... too bad nobody overrode
    it in Tree).
    Am I wrong? Am I making a mistake somewhere in my code? If
    not, is there a workaround? Has a bug report been filed, and should
    I file one if this is indeed a bug? Any help or insight would be
    greatly appreciated.

    OK, after banging my head against this for a day and a half,
    I finally have an answer. It seems that the problem is my root node
    (and possibly others; I didn't delve that deep) is "open". I guess
    something, somewhere is calling
    IHierarchicalCollectionView.openNode() on it. Closing the node(s)
    makes the problem disappear. I've attached a reproduction script
    that's about as simple as I can make it (I guess it could be
    simpler with less data, but oh well). Why does this happen? Should
    I open a bug report? It seems to me that the correct behavior would
    be to have the open node(s) disclosure controls start out open
    rather than incorrectly displaying their children as on the same
    level as them.
