Open Portal Transaction iView in new window without Browser window

Hello,
Currently i am testing to use the single-sign-on functionality of the portal to launch the SAP GUI for Windows.
I created some Transaction iViews and they work perfectly without having to log in.
To use the full GUI size of the SAPGUI in the iView, i configured it to open up in a seperate window. This also works perfectly, but when i let a colleague test the setup, i realized that he has some additional toolbars, which in return decreased the usable space in the browser window for the SAP GUI.
Now my question is:
How can i configure the Transaction iView to open up the given transaction in the SAP GUI, but without the surrounding Browser?
Is this even possible?
I test this because my comany is searching for a solution to use SSO with the SAP GUI. Since we have the portal we test if we could use it to realize this requirement without generating extra costs.

Hi Armin,
for iView (page) you probably set the property 'Launch in New Window' to value Display in Separate Window. To tune up the other otions you have the possibility to set the property Window Features, value should contain toolbar=no. These features will be used when Javascript opens up your window - you can apply any option coomonly documented. IMHO for your demands the best option is fullscreen=yes,toolbar=no - you get really the maximum possible size.

How to open portal favorites in a new window?

Hi,
we want that when a user clics in a portal favorites link, the iview gets opened in a new window.
I have been searching in the forums and tried all the "solutions" but none of them worked,
I tried:
- Setting the portal favorites iview property ¨Launch in new window : display in a headerless portal window¨
- Tried setting the parameter ¨Targe Window Type: blank¨ in the collection renderer of the layout set of the favorites iview
any hints?

I have checked this issue and there it is not possible to force the
iview which are opening portal content or portal pages as this is
hardcoded.
In PortalFavorites iView, portal pages are opening always in the portal
area, when iView is in the portal area, or into another window, when the
iView is called as standalone ( see 'Organize Entries' link from tray
option).
So there is no way to open into a new window portal pages direct from
Portal Favorites.This works as designs unfortunately .

Open only page/iView in new window

Hi,
How can I publish a porta page (or iView) in a way that I can open the page/iView without the role menu? Or what kind of URL should I use to call the page (or iView).
In other words I want to achieve the same functionality which I get when I test the page or iView with the preview button in the portal content directory.
I assume that I still need to assign this page (or iView) to a role and then assign this role to the user (in order to get this working), but I don't want certain types of users to see the role menu. They just need to open the needed application from our Intranet.
I thought I could achieve this by using "URL navigation" but it still shows the role context menu.

Hi,
You say you have already checked with NavigationTarget option? What kind of iVIew it is? Why not pick the url link from the preview page itself? That will not show role based menu. The url u picked can be added as link to ur intranet page. You have to decide on authentication though. If you want user to click the link and enter portal username and password to see the iView, then u can keep default settings. Else you can make the iView as anonymous iView by setting it in iView properties.

Open iView in new window in fullscreen

Hi,
I would like to open an (URL) iView in new window and maximize it size to expand on all the screen. Something like: width=100% height=100%.
Unfortunatly, the window feature properties does not allow this, it only allows passing width and height in pixels.
Does anyone has a solution for this issue? How to open iView in a new window in full-screen.

Hi Aviad,
You could set "fullscreen=yes" (without quotes) for the property called "Window Features" (technical name: "com.sapportals.portal.navigation.WinFeatures") on the navigation element in question (iView or, if existent, surrounding page). Take care, this opens the window without frame and toolbar (closable by ALT-F4).
To get a 100% screen (with toolbar, frame etc), you have to calculate the clients resolution before, using JS for example. So you would need to build a workaround, for example an iView with no output but opening a new window with a certain NavURL as target.

Portal Transaction iView not opening in browser but its open in R/3 screen

I have 2 senario.
First Scenario:
I login only into the portal and not login into R/3. I could access the portal transaction iview in the new broser portal window. And this is the expected behaviour.
second senario
I login into Portal as well as R/3 through SAP logon Pad (SAP GUI).
Now if I access Transaction Iview through portal , this transaction Iview is opened in R/3 side window not in portal browser window .And also same time we can see only new blank portal window iopen n portal side.
My question is that whichever transaction iView we access through portal we want to see that transaction iView in portal browser window like in first senario not in R/3 window.
Please help me to resolve this problem

Thanks for replying.
The problem is that when our user trying to do same things in our system with his credentials means UID and PWD its working fine.But when he do the same things in his system with his credentials problem occured as per the senario 2.
This problem is not only that user but also whole their team member.

Open iviews in new window from detailed navigation context menu function

hello,
when we click in the detail navigation menu and in the context menu (because many of ours users are used to right click to open a link in a new window on the internet) on the functionnality "open in new window", the start page is always display instead of the corresponding iview ...
could you tell me if there is a configuration into the portal to :
1- suppress the function "open in new window" from the context menu in the detailed navigation !
2- make the iview displayed into the new window really the iview desired !

The frist part is very precise. Not possible. Period. The reason is that the links are calling JS and not directly calling a http target.
About the second part: Within the Light Framework, you create a Light Detailed Navigation. And in this case, the links are direct http links. So with that, you have what you want.

i'v try to changed ivew property @ Launch in New Window = Display in Saparate Window but still @ my portal iview is displaying in Content Area only i want display in new window.

Change workprotect.mode.default to 2
still its getting in sam content are plz can u help out ASAP..

Hi Richard,
The property Launch in New Window = Display in Saparate Window should work. Try to assign the iView directly to the role and check. It might also be some cache problem. Try to navigate to System Administration>System Configuration>Navigation Cache.
Clear them and check once again. Hope it might solve your problem.

Strange behavior when opening ESS iview in new window

Hi all,
I have a problem that i find very strange. In ESS, when opening a iView in a new window, for some users the link to the ITS service gets corrupt..
An example:

If you look at this link you can see that the & sign between iview_mode and NavPathUpdate is missing and makes the launch of the iview will fail.
If I use the same link for opening the page in a new window this error does not appear.
I have tried to change the parameters that are passed on but this does not help..
Any ideas?

Firefox 7 won't allow me to switch windows; if it's up, it's on top, so if I ask it to open a site in a new window (instead of a tab) I can't get to the window without minimizing the first window. This makes it impossible to work.

I upgraded Firefox to 7 on my Win7 Pro 64 bit desktop yesterday. Today when I try to open a site in a new window, the window opens but I can't switch to it unless I actually minimize the first Firefox instance. Clicking on the second window just shows the first window again.
Worse, it insists on being on top of other programs. I needed to check my Norton Firewall settings against some instructions on a web site, and I couldn't switch back and forth - I could ONLY have Firefox on top. Until you fix this I'm going back to Chrome, guys. I have looked through the Options menus and I can't find an "always on top" box to uncheck.

Open a picture in a new window without the diashow-browser ?

Are you publishing to .Mac or to a local folder? When you use .Mac, clicking on a thumbnail on a Photo page opens that image in a new window and you only see the slideshow when you click the Start Slideshow button. If you publish to a local folder and then upload to a non-.Mac server, the old HomePage slideshow opens when you click a thumbnail. You can change the non-.Mac slideshow by following the advice in this excellent tip: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=313201&tstart=0. (The slideshow recommended there, though, also launches when you click a thumbnail.)

Portal Transaction iView Button disabled

Hello expert,
I wish know why the button on menu of Pop-Up Portal are disabled.
I created a SAP Portal Transaction iView:

And the button NEW WINDOW is disabled, but if I put on the field where we type transaction: /ose37
then, a new window will open because I used /o
My question is: Why this button - NEW WINDOW is disabled? How can I enable this?

The solution for other versions is explained in the same note. However the note says that the procedure is NOT recommended and NOT supported by SAP.
You will need to editi the WinGuiRenderLayer.properties and set -wp=false in the SSDCommandTemplate
For NW04 realease and above the WinGuiRenderLayer.properties can be found at:
../usr/sap/< SID>/<InstID>/j2ee/cluster/server< server#> /apps/sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/web-inf/portal/portalapps/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap/property/transaction
(Make these changes in all the server nodes. A restart of the portal might be required after making these changes.)
Please note that if you change anything in this property file, it will be overwritten if a new version of application com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.par is delivered or when a new SP is applied.
It is also recommended to keep the original archive com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.par in a temporary folder and redeploy it if you encounter any side effects.

The EPCM.doNavigate('target') takes several arguments, one of which let's you specify to open in new window.
EPCM.doNavigate('target',2)
0 (or missing): Same window
1: New window without navigation
2: New window (with navigation)
The API is defined as:
EPCM.doNavigate(String target, [int mode, String winFeat, String winName, int history, String targetTitle, String context])

You have to write another wrapper custom iView to launch SAP Transaction iView. The wrapper java iView will generate URL for the SAP Transaction iView (PS: How to generate URL for an iView in PCD. ) and Open the URL in a new window using a javascript -

Open KM folder navigation in new window

Hi Experts,
We have created KM navigation iView to display the documents from a folder. We have a requirement to open the navigation in new window when click on the folder.
For example path to documents are displaying from the /documents foder path as
documents
Test1.doc
Test.html
When I click on the documents folder, it should open the complete navigation in new window, at present it jsut refresh the page and render in the same window. Any one have idea whether to change in the Collection render or Resoure render class.

Collection render com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.collection.cm.CollectionListRenderer is being used to render the columns. This class exists under com.sap.km.cm.ui.flex portalapps, which is WEB-INF/portal/portalapps/com.sap.km.cm.ui.flex/private/lib folder. If I need to create new collection render by extending this class do I need to make the changes in the existing app ( com.sap.km.cm.ui.flex).
Can anyone suggest what is the approach to fulfill my requirement as in my first thread.

How can I open a blob (PDF) in new window.

The BLOB (PDF) that is in the database is being displayed by a column link. Since the field is a blob link I haven't found any way to open it in it's separate window. There have been several postings where others have asked this but I've yet found one that has an answer.

I do not think it matters whether your reports portlet is a default one or a customize one. I think whne you place the portlet, you can specify in the property to open up the result in new window. I think it is common feature of Portal.
