Open script in ESTK by using a script.

I am trying to make a command to open a chosen .jsx file inside the ESTK. I was trying to make an applescript string to be written and immediately executed with file.execute() (.scpt extension), but my file.execute() just opens the string up in an applescript editor, which I can compile and run from the editor and the script does work (sort of*). *meaning, it pops up the trust dialog if there's a #target illustrator in the document.
Anyways, I was looking to do the exact same thing as a Windows counterpart which I've already tested, where a .vbs file constructed thus, would work exactly as desired, opening up a .jsx file in the ESTK by doing a shell script object command in the .vbs.

I was able to create the next-best-thing , which is a bundled .app applescript file, saved from an applescript editor, which I put to live in the application scripts folder. The .app file is like .jsx or .vbs files because it will work when double-clicked, or performed file.execute() on. That file is set up to run a .scpt file of a constant name, which I write into the same folder, so by changing the contents of my .scpt file, this more awkward system is a bit more helpful on the Mac. The problems are that the warning yes/no dialog box pops up for files with "#target" in them, and that scripts sitting inside the Adobe Scripts folder do not even open. This is the applescript example:

There's probably a much better way to do this, is there?

You can use two Scripts or one Script that, depending on some predetermined factor, performs two different tasks.
So you could for example write something into the metadata, a channel, a txt file, … when a Script is run and that information is absent, and if it isn’t have the Script perform something else and remove that again.
Edit: You probably could also set up the Script Events Manager to check for something on any Selection change and have it run a Script depending on that but I doubt that’s a good idea.

How do I use lingo script in director to open a pdf

I am trying to create a button that, when pressed, will open

publish the movie and try to test it, on a mac using OS X, it trys
to open clasic (I want it to open in OS X or higher), and on a PC,

can I get this file to open on both a PC and a mac? If it is
something simple, can you write me a script that I can copy a paste

To open a file that needs another application, you need to
tell Director
what application to use. You can test to see what
applications the user
has that will show a .pdf and use the path to that file, or,
you can
install acrobat reader for each platform on your CD and then
use those,
or, you can use an Xtra that will find the application and
open the file.
Search this newsgroup for any or all of those solutions. You
will find
hundreds, maybe even thousands, of solutions.

If it's that critical, you could explore this partial workaround:
Use a script or configuration file on your server that changes the disposition based on the user agent. In other words, for Firefox, send an attachment disposition that forces a download outside the browser instead of the default (inline) disposition that allows Firefox to display the PDF in a tab.
Now... that won't stop the user from dragging and dropping the downloaded file on a Firefox tab to use the built-in PDF viewer, but most users would tend to open the file in their default viewer (e.g., stand-alone Adobe Reader).

I use the double command but the byte array to string block only converts me an element, do you know is exist another block to change all the elements.
I've tried to do with a for loop block....using an index array and changing with i the index element, but it doen'st work.

I have created a paragraph style using JSX.

Now I want to edit my paragraph style using the "Paragraph Style Options" window. How can I open the window for myParagraphStyle using JSX?
Is there any way to do it? I don't want to manually double click the name in the list to open it.

@kapoor_aman27 – with a little trick we could select a distinct paragraph style in the Paragraphs Style panel.
Add a new text frame to the document, add some contents, one character is sufficient. Format its contents with your paragraph style. Set the Paragraph Styles panel to visible. Select the text in the text frame with something like that: app.select(myTextFrame.texts[0]). Remove the text frame; the paragraph style stays selected in the panel.
The next step would be to invoke the "Paragraph Style Options" panel. The id for the appropriate scriptMenuAction is 8481.

But unfortunately this would throw an error. Something like this:

There are some java scripting example given on forum or in sdk.These all example start with app.

and to run these script use Scripts panel (choose Window > Utilities > Scripts), then double-click the script name in the Scripts panel in indesign application.But In this case first i start indesign application and then choose Window > Utilities > Scripts then double-click the script name in the Scripts panel.

Like in VB to create indesign object we use CreateObject("InDesign.Application"). In javascript how create object say "app" of InDesign Application.
For example if i write

Unable to turn column headers bold in Word table using VB Script

I have created a table in Microsoft Word 2010 using VB Script (this is via the script engine that forms part of HP Quality Centre functionality). The table itself is OK, 2 columns with centred headers. However, I am unable to make the column
headers bold. I have spent hours searching the net and trying various options to no avail can somebody please help me.

I haved noticed that you used objTable.AutoFormat to format the table. Based on my understanding, this fuction will applie a predefined look to a table.
After I move the code which bolder the text behind this line of code, it works well for me.

Missing fields in the output while using SAP SCRIPT

Hi,
I am working on an issue where we are using F110 to print some checks, and for this we have created a custom sap script and we are using a std driver program RFFOUS_C, we have also maintianed a custom subroutine pool ZRFFOUS which will retrieve the missing data for the sap script which was not there in the std. program. Now we have applied a SP to our system and since then we are having a problem...when we are printing the chechks its missing some fields.
Surpisingly, it is happening for all scripts like Dunning, invoice......
These scripts are working good in production which is not applied patches.
I have tried in all ways, did debug, data is there in tables and scripts are exactly same as in production.
Could you please share any ideas regarding this? What would be the effect of patches?

I think u r printing the Check through the Tr Code F110.
In that program u r using the Standard Driver Program RFFOUS_C and u create a New Sap script.
and also u also mantained the custom subroutine pool ZRFFOUS . when ru giving printing u are not able to print some field.
In this case when u using the Standard driver Program RFFOUS_C in that program there is a Include Progran * RFFORI01---- check ,
in this program it is calling the Standard Form (F110PRENUM_CHCK) i--e t042e-zforn .as shown in the below and it is calling the function module 'OPEN_FORM'._
Please copy the form asZF110_PRENUM_CHCK and and do the changes in that form . and we need to maintained the Form as Company code level -- and it will shown this Table T042E (Company Code-Specific Specifications for Payment Methods)
Please go to Transaction Code FBZP and U can maitained the New Sap Script Form Company Code Level.
one thing while u calling your new subroutine pool ZRFFOUS Please call this subroutine in your Sap Script form then only u can see all values in your Check. and Actvate the Sap script .

Sending email using apple script...

I have created a watch folder using apple script that when a file is dropped on it, it automatically opens, formats, and sends out a custom email.
What I don't understand is, how can I include multiple variables in the "content" section (also known as the body section of the email)? I want to put custom type in the content section that says "There is a file awaiting your review." I also would like to choose an email signature from my mail program to use. Third, I would like to include the name of the file that is being sent....
I found that by doing {content:iteminfo} I could get the file name...If I do {content:"There is a file awaiting your review."} I could get the custom type I wanted....
BUT, I can't figure out how to get BOTH of them together in ADDITION to adding a custom email signature...
I know there are some really smart people out there...Any tips?

This is just standard AppleScript text concatenation with the &:
... {content: "There is a file awaiting your review: " & iteminfo}
Here you can see I'm concatenating a literal string (enclosed in quotes) and a variable. You can extend this ad infinitum.
As for the signature:
tell theMessage to set message signature to signature "My Sig"
(which assumes you have a signature named 'My Sig'. Adjust as necessary.

Export OSB configuration from eclipse using ant script

I am trying to export an OSB project from eclipse using ant script

It is using com.bea.alsb.core.ConfigExport to do the export. This export is always set to resource level.
I see it generates a file ExportInfo setting some properties. It has a property that set the export level as below

How can I export the project in project level? basically setting projectLevelExport to true?
So that if a file does not exist in the sbconfig.jar file , then while importing the jar to OSB server it will delete the file from the server instead of skipping it?

yes, I specified the project name to export the whole project.
Here is few lines from my properties file

But this property does not make it to export at project level ,it export the specified project at resource level.
And while importing this jar to OSB server, if a file is missing it skips the file instead of deleting the file from the OSB server
If I unjar sbconfig.jar file, open ExportInfo file and update the line in bold below to true then it deletes the file from OSB server, if not exist in sbconfig.jar

How to get latest added file from a folder using apple script

I am trying to get a latest added file from a folder..and for this i have below script

By using this i am not able to get latest file because for some files the creation date is some older date so is there any way to get latest file based on "Date Added" column of a folder.

If you don't mind using GUI Scripting (you must enable access for assistive devices in the Accessibility System Preference pane), the following script should give you a reference to the last item added to any folder. Admittedly not the most elegant solution, but it works, at least under OS X 10.8.2.
