CSS Flexbox - a new layout method for web pages

Hi,
As you may all know, css flexbox is a new layout method for laying out your web page, and with Firefox releasing version 22 within the next few days, (should have been yesterday) it is now no longer hidden behind browser settings. Add to this the fact that all desktop browser except IE10 and Safari 5 & 6, no longer require the use of a vendor prefix, and that http://html5please.com/ simply say ’USE’, flexbox is now finally a viable layout alternative, especially for responsive layouts.
Flexbox has been available on all Android and iOS devices, (and any device using the webkit engine, e.g. new blackberry’s and Kindle Fire devices) since they were first release.
To help find problems, and provide help in using flexbox, we would be grateful if you would experiment and provide feedback in the use of flexbox for layouts.
To help you get started a video tutorial, (with files to download) and examples of layouts, (more to be added next week) and tips & tricks to help with some of the more common problems have been provided at http://flexboxlayouts.com/. This site will also be updated to provide you with a list of problems and hopefully the solutions to those problems, so that you will have a ’one stop’ reference site for using flexbox.

Yes I know, and this is why I am asking people to experiment with flexbox.
The fix for IE10 is to give the right hand sidebar, (or the content) a larger flex-grow property, the bug is caused by the flex shorthand property not recognizing % values, and using the flex-basis as a set width instead of a preferred size.
I have logged the bug, (and many others) with the various browser bug bases.
This and other bugs, do have 'fixes', so I hope users will experiment with flexbox and provide feedback.
Flexbox is no different than any other css feature, "we can only find the problems in actual use".
Strangely enough, I have found the most consistent to use is the old 2009 implementation on mobile devices, (no doubt iOS7 will change all that ).

When you use the feedback channel to contact Apple, make sure you tell them exactly what it is you want. Asking them to "develop a new input method" will certainly just be ignored because they will have no idea what you are talking about.

Opening up a new browser window in java

So, i'm trying to open up a browser window to download the mac runtime for java, if the system is a mac. but because of microsoft not letting java to javascript communication i can't do it. anyone got any ideas?

HT5055 Problem installing new Lion update for Java

When I launch JavaForOSX.dmg, it says: "There maybe a problem with this disk image. Are you sure you want to open it? Opening this disk image may make your computer less secure or cause problems." I have downloaded the lastest Java update for Lion 4 times and I always get this message! I have never received a similar message in the past. I downloaded the Snow Leopard file and sucessfully updated my wife's computer with no problems. Is the Apple file bad, or am I doing something wrong.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.3 on a Mac mini (2.5 GHz Intel Core i5).
Software Update does not offer me Java for OS X Lion 2012-002
Preferences->Installed Software does not show any Java updates installed.
When I download from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1515 instead of a 66.9MB file I get a 63.8MB file (every time) and it gives me the error "There may be a problem with this disk image. Are you sure you want to open it?" when I open the DMG.
I think Apple needs to provide a new disk image for this patch.

Perspective for Java technologies : implementing interface on late.

In Java, to implements the adapter pattern's; we have to create a new class that have a link with the adaptee class and implements the adapter interface.
class MyAdapter implements IAdapter

}then, to call the method void foo( IAdapter i ); ;

If you overlay an interface on someone else's class,
the signature match (if there is one) could happen by
coincidence. There's no guarantee that a method with
a signature that matches one in your interface
actually has the same function.I didn't say that an external class should be viewed as an interface without a specific implementation of this interface for the external class. But, instead of making a new class extending the first and implementing the interface, just define a specific implementation of the interface for this class, as if it was make at class declaration.

PetStore running in Forte for Java 4 - Part 1

I am hoping to get the PetStore (1.3.1_01) running under Forte for Java 4 EE. If I succeed I will be posting this up to the web-site so that it is publicly available. However I am very new to Forte for Java (FFJ) [I ran it for the first time six days ago]. As a concequence I may not understand the best way of configuring projects or web modules etc, associating the J2EE, implementing ANT files etc etc etc. So what I thought I would do is (briefly) explain what I am doing so that if I am doing stupid things or there are better ways of doing things you guys can shout (ie get some peer review as I proceed).
The overall approach I am taking is:
+ The project is stored in the standard \forte4j-userdir\system\Projects directory.
+ the source currently is stored separately (ie the directory I unzipped the perstore to).
+ I am building the project in the same sequence that the main build.xml files specifies (ie components / waf / apps).
+ I expose parts of the PetStore project to FFJ by mounting local directories from the unzipped PetStore directory.
+ As long as the j2ee.home is defined in build.properties the ANT build processes work. However a compile under FFJ will not work as it does not know where the j2ee.jar file is. Therefore I have mounted the j2ee.jar and added this to the project. [IS THERE A BETTER WAY OF DOING THIS?]
Each of the COMPONENTS (asyncsender, encodingfilter, purchaseorder etc) are held in separate java packages. Each of these have been mounted separately and then arranged in the same order as they appear in components/build.xml. Each of these can then be compiled, or, built using the ANT files successfully. Finally for the COMPONENTS I wanted to make the components/build.xml known to FFJ. Unfortunately you can't just mount the components directory (see problem below). So I have created a new directory at the petstore/src level called build and mounted this directory. The components build.xml file has been copied into this directory and renamed to components.xml. Finally the base directory in components.xml has been changed from (.) to (../components). Double clicking on this now builds all of the COMPONENTS without errors.
I have taken this approach rather than just mounting the components directory as when you do a build you get the following error:
"java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Mount/org-openide-filesystems-LocalFileSystem_1.settings: missing 'class' attribute in 'instance' element". [WHAT IS THIS AND IS THERE A SOLUTION?]
Hopefully I will get some more time tomorrow to start work on the waf part of PetStore.

Before starting on the waf import to Forte for Java (FFJ) I did a quick review. And found an issue. FFJ was not recognising the EJB components as EJBs.
When creating a new EJB FFJ will store the following "special" files:
+ <ejb name>.ejbdd containing the <ejb-jar> definition
+ <ejb name>.ejbj2eeri containing the <j2ee-ri-specific-information> [AM I CORRECT IN SAYING THIS IS THE CONTAINER SPECIFC DEPLOYMENT INFORMATION? ]
+ <ejb name>.sesejb or .entejb or .mesejb - depending on whether the bean is an session / entity / message bean
The PetStore project contains <ejb-jar> definitions in ejb-jar.xml files. These files were therefore copied out to the appropriate location for FFJ and renamed to <ejb name>.ejbdd. On opening the project FFJ now recognises the EJBs correctly (signified by the FFJ bean icon). The build.xml files were then changed to copy the new <ejb name>.ejbdd files to the META-INF directory. The project both compiles and can be built from the ANT files successfully.
So far I have not done anything about the ejbj2eeri files [CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ME WITH ANY INFO ABOUT THESE? FOR EXAMPLE DOES FFJ HAVE ANY SPECIFIC VALUES STORED IN HERE OR WILL THE CURRENT VALUES DEFINED FOR THE J2EE REFERENCE IMPLEMENTATION BE OK].
Neither have I done anything about the .sesejb / .entejb / .mesejb files. They contain the following information:

When I use to hold down the ctrl key and left click on a web link, the page use to open into a new tab. For some reason this is not working anymore. Instead when I hold down the ctrl key and left click on a web link, the link will open into a new window. How do I fix this?

I figured out how to correct it. Not sure what exactly was happening. But I started into private browsing and then turned it off. It's been working correctly ever since I did private browsing.

Basic TableUI element to Retrieve Data from DB in WEbDynPro For Java

Hi Experts,
I am new to WebDynPro for java.Can any body please help me out from this issue.
I am trying to display records from DataBase by Using Table UI element.
DBTable Contains 10 rows.
I have created a Node and Attributes(for every column) .
I am using JDBC code to retrieve data from database and assigning to Attributes.
But in Table UIElement its displaying only last record from database as first row in UIElement.
Its over writing previous rows.
Can any body please help me the correct procedure to retrieve data from DataBase.
