Open the default email application through button click in struts

Hi can someone help me with launching the default mail application from a jsp page through button click? I am using struts.

Yes you can send the dynamic values to the JS,
I have never tried <bean:write but you can use as,
var make="<%=makeFromJava%>"Where make is a JS variable and makeFromJava is a java variable where you can sent/set some dynamic values

ICal not using the default email application?!??

Hello,
I use Thunderbird as my default (and only) email application. In the preferences of Apple's Mail application, I selected Thunderbird as the default email reader.
However, when sending email from iCal, it attempts to use Mail, not Thunderbird?!? This happens both when emailing an event and when sending an invite for a published calendar.
How do I make iCal use Thunderbird for sending mail?
Tried searching the forum and Apple Support site, but failed to find an answer.

I am also now having this issue. I didn't have this problem previously. Other apps (e.g. AddressBook) are using my default mail program, but iCal strongly prefers Mail.app? I am seeing this on my laptop that I don't use as often, but will confirm on my desktop machine tomorrow ...

Yes, of course(I'm sorry, my last post wasn't so complete as it should be), exactly the same as it was with me... I've solved it at "the long way" (there must be a shorter way, something like an "abort"-way, but I don't know that way...). I've opened an extra account at yahoo (.ca or .com), which is easily to set in Mail (see in your yahoo mail > options). Than I have imported that mail-account into my Mail, so that I can use all the options (also mail>preferences). Than I have set my standard mail-application in the tab "general" into entourage. than it is just load your mail into netscape mail.

Photobooth default email application change

Is there anyway to change the default email application in photobooth. The default is Mac Mail and I want to use Entourage instead.
I've switched the default mail to Entourage already but Photobooth is the only one that doesn't change.

You can look at the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page. 
If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value. 
You can also try to change the network.protocol-handler.warn-external.mailto pref to true.

Office documents does not open in the default office application from Search Results

1 WFE + 1 App Server + 1 server for OWA + 1 separate DB server make up our DEV SharePoint 2013 environment. We migrated many web applications from our SP 2010 environment to SP 2013 environment. Client integration is enabled and "Open
Documents in Client Applications by Default" feature is enabled at the site collection level. OWA is enabled and working on the search results, such as showing preview.
From the document libraries, if I open office documents like word, excel and PowerPoint, they open in the respective office applications. However, from the search results, when I try to open by clicking on the result, it opens on the browser. I want
OWA to show document preview but still want to open the document in the default office application. How to overcome this?
I have IE 8.

Go to the bottom of the Search page, you will see a Preferences link:
From there, you can set your preference. This is a per-user setting and as far as I'm aware, cannot be set globally.

What version of Windows and Office is it? I had this issue with an older version of office and Windows XP. Basically, MS are using their browser (IE) because it's their software (MS Office). If you go to options in MS word though, you should be able to find an option to set the default browser to open links.

The apple email application fails to open

The apple email application on my macbook air seem to have crashed. The last time it worked it froze on attempt to send an email attachment and refused to close. I tried forced shut down, which eventually closed it. Since then it has not been functional. Please advice. Thank you.

Default acrobat xi pro send mail to default email application and remember my choice 2008R2 remote desktop server

I have 2008R2 Remote Desktop Servers with Adobe Acrobat XI pro. When a new user tries to send a pdf via email, it pops up a message "How would you like to send this email" they have to pick "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook) and Remember my choice. Then the next time they try to send an email, the get a warning "This email will be sent using "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook)". Click on 'Change Preferences' to change your default account settings. They have to Click Do not Show this message again, and then continue. (actually I have a couple of users that have to go through this process Every time they sign on to the remote desktop server),
I downloaded the group policy adm pack and I can not find any settings to default this for a user.
Is there any group policy settings or a registry entry I can make on the remote desktop server to default these settings?

Distiller is a different product. The prefs should go under Adobe Acrobat.

How do I disable Numbers as the default spreadsheet application?

A couple of days ago I was opening a Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet, as usual. Unexpectedly, the Numbers application launched without prompting, presented an introductory page (Welcome to Numbers etc.) then asked a question (which I unfortunately don't recall). I clicked on the button that seemed to lead me out of the program, but it did not. Instead, Numbers made itself the default spreadsheet application. I cannot find a way to "undefault" it. I know how to use "Open with" in the menu and can select xlsx of course, but when I try to download new spreadsheets they automatically download as Numbers spreadsheets. I don't want to disable the Numbers application completely, but I also don't want to learn a brand new application with all its ins and outs right now. I just want to get my work done in EXCEL!!!

In Finder, navigate to one of your Excel documents. Select the Excel document, but don't open it. Then choose File > Get Info from the Finder menu line.
In the Info pane, about half way down, in Open With:, select Excel and then click the Change All... button.

Acrobat X: Can you make 'open' the default option when opening sharepoint documents?

When you open a sharepoint document with acrobat X, you get the pop-up screen asking you how you want to access the file. The option are 'check out and open', or just 'open'.
Is it possible to make 'open' the default access methode, so that you don't have to click on the pop-up for every document?

No, it's not really possible to set this default.
That said, there's a registry key setting you can change to disable the SharePoint integration feature though.
They key is:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\(product name)\(version)\FeatureLockdown\cSharePoint
Summary: Disables the SharePoint integration features.
Details: Controlls the application's ability to detect that a file came from a Sharepoint server, disables the check-out prompt, and removes the SharePoint specific menu items. Possible values include:
0: Disable the SharePoint integration features.
1: Same as "null." Don't disable the SharePoint integration features.
This may not really fit your need though.

How to change the default email to yahoo

The Apple mail app keeps open when I hit various links and I am trying to get yahoo as my default email. I've checked the preferences for Snow Leopard, Chrome (my browser) and the Mail App program, itself. Mail gives me the option of selecting another physical program, but I want to use a web-based email as my default. How is this done? Thanks

When a web browser opens a 'mailto' link, it starts whatever the default mail application is (the same behavior is consistent with all web browsers and operating systems; the HTML specification specifies this behavior). If you want to use a browser-based e-mail service, like Yahoo!, you cannot setup your browser as the default e-mail client (because, it's a browser and not an e-mail client; think of the e-mail client being on another machine that's operated by Yahoo!). This is the same on OS X, Windows, and Linux.
What you can do, however, is to setup Apple's Mail to use Yahoo! Mail: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html
Note that Yahoo now charges for this service (Yahoo! Mail Plus, $19.00/year). Google offers the same service for free.

FIRST TIME RUNNING THE DEFAULT BSP APPLICATION IN ABAP

        I am happy to see many people are solving the problems on BSP in sdn.
I am running the bsp application for the first time by taking the t-code se80 into consideration and executing the default bsp application given there.But I am getting the error   The URL http://nwrbcs:8000/sap/public/bsp/sap/system/login.htm was not called due to an error.The error is common as to all RABAX_STATE and in addressbar the address displayed is

Mainly my problem is i am not able to goto logon page.I am using the version Netweaver04 to run this application.Are there any special prerequisites to run a bsp application.I had donwe some settings in t-code SICF all services are activated(subservices also) and in path /default_host/sap/bc/bsp rightclick display service in handler list tab I added CL_HTTP_EXT_BSP. In RZ10 I added the parameter icm\host_name_full (as I am using workgroup instead of domain in my system) for instance profile.In t-code SCICM status is running.
If not clear with the above details I will send the screenshots of required t-codes and runtime errors to the mail-id immediately.

you need to configure the FQDN. That is causing the issue in your case.
the URL shd start something like abc.mycompany.com:port_number...

Aattach as email option in Acrobat X Standard doesn't send to the default email address in Outlook

I am running Microsoft Office 2010 Proffesional + and in Outlook I have two separate (not aliases) email accounts that are attached to the same .pst file.
When I open a pdf file with Adobe Acrobat, and try to "Attach to Email", Adobe opens up Outlook and creates a new message like it's supposed to, but it does not select the default email account as the sending account.
I've tried removing the secondary account and then re-creating as new, but I still get the same result. I also created a new profile and configured both email accounts but didn't worked. BTW i have installed the most recent updates for both OS (Win 7)and Acrobat
Any ideas?

Sorry totally my fault - no issue at all... more a problem with the tester! users with an external email address are receiving the email it just seems when the email is sent from Apex standalone is appears in the inbox but when it is sent from within an iframe it is sent straight to the junk mail by the email client... still a little strange there is a difference in behaviour but at least it doesn't totally fail as I first thought.
