Open web browser

Question

I am very very new to Java. I was wondering if there was a way that you could ask a user for a web address and then java would launch it.
Could you pls post some sample code thanks

well jmcall10, you can start any program using Runtime system object, and if you use windows how os, then iexplore can recive parameters like that:
iexplore http://java.sun.com
typing that in a command window.
then, you can try with the next code:

Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process pro = run.exec("iexplore http://java.sun.com");
//Here appers a explorer window tring to connect jaav web
